Raena POV

My eyes were still closed but I was awake, I didn't want to fully wake up, I wanted to stay in the sleepy world between reality and dreams. In that world I was in Forks, Embry beside me but somehow we were also here with my family; I had everything. But then that world faded away and reality kicked in, I was in a bed, in my dad's house in Massachusettes. Jacob is here... that must mean Embry is looking for me. He must be here too. I need to find him. He needs to know I'm okay.

I got up threw on a new outfit, I didn't have a plan, but the thought of seeing Embry again was intoxicating. I bumped into my dresser and I watched something fall from the top in the corner of my eye, I spun quickly and caught it before it hit the floor. It was my seal figure, the one I had gotten at the aquarium, it was my first good memory with this part of my family. They were just so desperate to meet me, I remembered as I put the seal back in it's place. They never had a chance because my mom didn't let them. They've been so great. Why would she take me away... I need to talk to Embry. I turned and went down the stairs, a plan forming to contact Embry when I heard Adrian's voice.

"Raena," Adrian came from his study, his face was solemn and unreadable.

Beside him Cassia appeared," Come in, neptem."

What do I say? They want to talk about last night... I don't even know what happened. What if they're mad about Jacob? What do I say? I need to talk to them too. I slowly stepped of the last stair and hovered for a second, I was nervous and I couldn't figure out why.

Cassia smiled, but in that moment, it didn't feel real like she was forcing herself to do it. "This is a good day," she reached for me her hands grabbing mine and encasing them. "Such a big day."

"Yes," Adrian smiled. "Come," he wrapped his arm around me and guided me to the couch. On the table in front of us were three steaming mugs. Adrian offered me one," It's tea," he said taking a sip from his own mug. The warm smell of cinnamon and honey was enticing, I took a swig of the warm drink and it slid down my throat like smooth velvet.

"What's happening?," I looked between them, holding the warm mug in my hands.

"Tonight is the night, my filia you become a member of the coven."

"Wait, what?," I turned to Cassia with wide eyes.

"Yes my neptem, tonight is your convergence," Cassia sipped her own mug.

"Convergence?"

"Yes, you will become a member of our coven."

"Wait... I thought I was?," I turned to Adrian.

"You are my blood, yes. But you've been away, you didn't group up with the tradition, it's only natural you get a convergence. I thought," he looked down for a moment," that when you said you wanted to stay, perhaps you would want to be a part of this."

Convergence? What does that mean... It sounds painful. I took another nervous sip of my tea, "What's a convergence?"

"It's a ceremony we hold, just a way to become a member of the coven, all witches go through it at one point."

"But I can't even use magic yet? I might not even be a witch."

"You are," Adrian looked me in the eyes. "I see the magic inside you and it shines so brightly, you are a witch. The talent is just lurking beneath the surface all you have to do it find it."

"The choice is your, neptem," Cassia told me.

"What if I say no?"

"I'm hoping you say yes," Adrian smiles. "The family could finally be complete, the missing piece returned and then we will be restored," Adrian took my hand from Cassia's. "It would mean everything to me if you did this," he sounded so hopeful.

"I... I thought you'd be mad... about last night."

"No," he shook his head. "How could I be mad? You're safe, that's all that matters. And I'm sure you're friends are worried, I know you've struggled to reach them and your uncle is probably ill with fear about where you are."

Uncle Charlie is probably so scared... he think I ran away, which now I guess I kind of am. I've had opportunities to run and didn't.

"Eva... she just freaked out. Why did she do that?"

Adrian sighed," Eva was scared. She told me she thought you would leave and she didn't want to lose you."

"Why did she think that! I never said I wanted to leave!"

"I know, my filia. I know," Adrian smiled warmly.

"I really do like it here," I looked back to Cassia. "I'm glad I gave you all a chance, you've all been great."

Cassia smiled, this time she seemed genuine," We're happy that you're home."

I took a slow breath," As much as I love it here, I need to know that I can still see my mom, still go back home and see friends. I know you've said this isn't a prison or anything but I think I need to go back soon, just to explain it all."

"Of course you can," Adrian confirmed with me "I would never want you to feel like a prisoner. I.. I know I've been watchful, keeping an eye on you, but when you tried to run away... I... I just didn't want to lose you again," he sounded ashamed. "I know that was selfish of me... but to hear you say that you want this, at least to be a part for your life... it's all I could ever ask for," I saw a tear slip from his eye.

I was overtaken by a similar emotion, it was surreal to think I could cry but I held back the idea of tears. I squeezed his hand," I do, I really do want this to be a part of my life."

"Then you will do it?," Adrian almost didn't believe what he was hearing.

"Sure," I shrugged. "Why not," I felt a smile creep onto my face. "I'm basically a member already, right?"

"Oh the spirits!," Adrian pulled me into another hug. "I cannot believe the day has finally come!" I snaked my arms around his back and hugged him in return, it was just like it had been last night, so warm and it just felt happy. He let go and gripped my shoulders," I could not be prouder!," he said before wiping another tear away.

"So what is it? This convergence thing?"

"Ahhh,"Adrian smile widened. "It's such a beautiful ceremony."

Adrian told me that it happens at night, that the entire coven welcomes me into the family. He said there is latin involved and sometimes miracles of magic can happen spontaneously, it sounded like something from a movie. He said there were traditional cloaks and I started to feel like it was a cult thing, but it didn't really worry me. Something inside me was buzzing about the idea, I couldn't contain the excitement.

"Then maybe tomorrow I can visit my mom? Go to Forks?," I asked hesitantly.

"Anything you want," Adrian smiled. "I'll give you a car with how I feel right now. I can buy a ticket for a flight to Washington after the ceremony, I can even come with you," he jumped off the couch. "I need to start preparations!," he laughed and strode from the room.

I turned to Cassia with a chuckle, but her face had grown sad.

"Cassia?"

"Raena," she searched my eyes. "You do not have to do this to please myself or your father. To have you here is enough for us, we do not want to force you into this."

"You're not forcing me," I smiled. "I actually, I'm excited. Maybe this will help and I can do magic now! And I'll be heading to see Embry tomorrow!," I was buzzing at the idea of going back to Forks, seeing hi and introducing him to my dad.

"Raena," Cassia sounded serious as she avoided my questions. "I just need you to be sure of your choice, really think it through."

"It's fine," I brushed it off. "It's not a big deal and Adrian said I can go visit Embry! Finally, I can talk to him about all of this, he must be going out of his mind. I need to check my Myspace," the thought came rushing back to me. "No, I should call him! Do you have that phone on you?"

Just then Kalem ran into the room, "You're converting!," he beamed.

"Yeah, I guess so," I stood up and Kalem came out of no where with a hug.

I guess I never pegged my family for huggers...

"That's so awesome, Raena!"

"Really?," I blushed. "Thanks."

"Wow, this is gonna be so great! Don't let the robe thing freak you out, it seems scary but they're actually so soft."

"I won't lie, sounds kind of weird."

"It is ," he admitted with a shrug," but you know us witches, crazy about traditions," he joked.

The day was swept away from me, I didn't realize how fast the hours had ticked by. The house started to fill with people, people I had never seen or met before. It was then Eva pulled me away to my room, when we were alone I wanted to yell at her, scream at her for what she'd done. She shut the door and turned to face me, we stood alone in my room, he lifted her head and her eyes were wet, tears already streaking down her face. I forgave her before she even spoke.

"I'm so sorry," she cried and leaned back against the door.

"Eva," I stepped forwards and hugged her. "It's okay."

"I didn't mean to," she cried into my hair.

"Shhh, it's fine. It's fine. I'm not mad."

"You should be! I ruined it for you! AGAIN!," she howled.

"No, Eva, it's okay. It's alright."

"And now I'm ruining your convergence," she sobbed.

"Eva, no. No, it's okay. I'm not mad, Eva, I swear. I'm happy."

"Happy?," she wiped her eyes.

"Yes," I smiled. "I'm happy."

She looked at me through her wet lashes," Are you being serious?"

"I am," I answered honestly.

"Really?," she hiccuped.

"Yes. I... I get to have everything," I beamed. "I'm getting it all, Eva."

"What do you mean?," she hiccuped again.

"I get this," I gestured to the room. "I get all of this and I still get my other life. I'm getting to combine them, Eva... it's like a dream."

"So you aren't mad?"

"I was," I sighed. "I don't know why you thought I was just going to run away..."

"You had before," she wiped her eyes. "And I just... I couldn't live with it if you did. I thought maybe you had been maybe trying to come up with a way to get out... like you were lying about being happy here," she looked to the floor.

"No," I shook my head. "I was being real, I was really giving this place a chance."

"And you want to stay?"

"I really do," I smiled again, my cheeks almost hurt. "But I'm nervous," I admitted. "This convergence thing... it sounds way out of my league."

Eva perked up," It's really not. It's such an honor too! I'm so happy for you."

"Honor? I thought every witch went through it."

"We do, all of, but usually not until 18. I guess he just can't wait anymore."

I sat on the edge of my bed," I just can barely still wrap my head around the fact he really wants me, you know? He wants me to stay. I, to be honest... I never really thought about this side of my family. I figured my dad was some deadbeat, but here I am... with a family that really want me."

"Why wouldn't he? He's your father," Eva sat beside me.

"My mom sent me away," I told her. "She just couldn't handle me anymore... I was awful, I know that, but she just sent me away. Adrian's actually trying to keep me here... maybe a little too much at first, I think he actually trusts me! No one ever trusts me... not my mom or even my uncle."

"This is so amazing, Raena!," Eva squealed. "I can't believe how fast he got some of the members here! My parents are here!"

"Seriously?! Woah..."

"Yeah, he must have made this a big priority for everyone to get here so fast!"

I beamed at the idea, All for me.

"The sun is setting!," Eva jumped up. "We have to get you in your robes," she squealed excitedly.

"Wait, just wait," I clasped my hand together, my nerves rising. "Tell me what happens again?"

"Raena, don't worry. It'll be great!," she lead me out of my room and down the stairs.

"There you are!," Adrian made it through the crowd to the stairs. "I was wondering where you snuck off too," he grinned. "Eva, you're parents want to see you." She drew her lips in a smile line, but nodded silently, leaving to find them. He turned back to me," And you, little miss princess of the hour, need to get ready."

"Robes?," I asked.

He nodded," Robes."

Jacob POV

"The car is registered to Lorelai and Steven Bauchman," Bella told me over the phone. I sat at the desk in my hotel room, writing it down on a spare piece of paper. "It says the car's registered in California."

"California?," I repeated.

"Yeah, San Francisco."

I dropped the pen," Then what they hell is it doing here?"

"What we've found is that they used to live out east in Pennsylvania but they moved to San Franscisco maybe 10 years ago."

"But why is there car here now?"

"Jasper is working on that, he thinks he can get into their bank records. All we know is Lorelai and Steven Bauchman, they have a daughter and guess what her name is?"

"What?"

"Eva."

"Eva?"

"That's the girl, Embry said the girl that Raena was with, her name was Eva."

"So it's her, she's still with the same girl?," I was hopeful for some information.

"Yeah, looks that way."

"If Eva's from California, why are they out here?"

Bella sighed," That's why Jasper wants into their bank records, he's hoping there is some trail to tell us something."

"But this is good," I stood up and paced the room. "This is good. This is something at least."

"Yeah, we know Raena is there."

"What if they transported back to California? She might not be here anymore. I checked that theater from top to bottom, nothing was there."

"I guess I'm trying to be optimistic. Charlie is losing it, he filed the missing persons report today and he's trying to get Raena's face onto the new by tonight."

"That could help, maybe someone can finally put her in one place. Hows Embry?"

"Anxious. He'll come by a few times a day but he won't stay for more than 5 minutes before running out the door. I think staying here, coped up while you're out there is killing him inside."

"I know," I rubbed my temple. "But now we'll find her. We have a lead. We are so close to bringing her home."

"Hold on someone wants to talk to you," the phone rustled and I heard a new voice.

"Jacob?," Resnesmee asked excitedly.

"Hey Nessie!," I smiled.

"Have you seen the ocean?"

"I actually have, it's not the best view, it's cold here."

"It's cold here too, but now you've seen two oceans!"

"I guess I have," I hadn't thought about it.

"When are you coming back?," she asked.

"Soon," I sat on my bed. "Hopefully I'll be back soon."

"Good, I hope so. Mama won't let me rid your motorcycle."

I stifled a laugh," Well, when I get back we'll go for a ride, just the two of us, okay?"

"Yes!," she cheered. "Come back soon!"

"I'm trying," I admitted.

"Bye Jacob," Renesmee called and Bella was back on the phone.

"She misses you," Bella told me.

"I miss her too," I sighed. "I'm ready to get out of this town," I looked to my window.

"Well, you will. We just need to find her."

"I will," I promised.
