"... and this is what we witnessed back in that museum." Mirii was sitting on the office chair, while her legs were crossing and her hands were resting on the desk.
Her tentacles were still changing into various colours. The man, on the other hand, had his eyes wide, while pointing his Blaster down.
"Wow... just, wow!" As his eyes blinked, they returned back to normal. "No one told me that there was this plan going on in the museum...!"
"Hmpf!" Mirii's head rose, as her arms folded. "Figured…"
"Th-that's so wrong!" Sweat jumped off his head. "Wrong and twisted!"
"... he might be playing tricks on me..." Mirii's eyes squeezed a little. "His flimsy weapon cannot scratch me, no matter which colour will use against me..."
"I-I would love to help you... but I don't even know where we could look for." His left hand grabbed his chin. "Although... since you are changing into various colours..."
"... yes?" Mirii's back sunk on the chair's backrest.
"Could that help us in some way?" He waved his left hand up and down. "Maybe you can cure those people with your own ink... or perhaps, you gained a new skill you aren't aware of just yet."
"... that's a good point." Mirii's irises shrunk a little. "If it's true, then I would have truly reached perfection... ... and most importantly, I could use my new powers in situations I wouldn't be able to face normally..."
"Do you feel different?" He rose his Blaster.
"No." Mirii's head shook.
"Although… I have the hunch that you don't have anything different other than the complete immunity over any type of ink-based attacks." The man's right hand went on his chin.
"You think so" Mirii's lips pulled inside her mouth.
"Were you trying to say something to me?" He smiled at the girl.
"N-no, no!" Sweat jumped out of Mirii's head, as she left her chair's backrest and pushed down on its base with her bottom. "I was thinking about what should I have to do next..."
"I say you should discover your newer self." He nodded. "I can help you with"
"I would rather find out about it, as I am exploring the rest of this laboratory." Mirii stood up from the chair.
"I could go to the boss and see if he knows anything about it."
"... boss...?" Mirii tilted her head a bit to the right side.
"The chief!" The man chuckled. "He has always been helpful in the past... I'm sure he will tell us what he knows about the painting incident."
"... I would like to go the restroom..." Mirii's right hand grabbed the top of her shirt with her right forefinger, pulling it away from her body.
"Bathroom break?" His eyes closed. "There is one at the end of the hallway."
She smiled.
"Thank you." Mirii walked around the desk's right side, then she walked towards the man, halting in front of him. "In the meantime, can you reach this chief and explain everything to him?"
"Sure!" The man nodded twice.
"Thank you." She walked past him, approaching the room's entrance. "We will meet again in front of your office."
"Ok!" The man brought his left hand inside his left pants' front-pocket.
Mirii exited the room, leaving the door open and proceeding over the right side.
"... this is my chance to reach a safe room..." Mirii whispered.
"I can't believe he lets you walk around the laboratory without any type of restriction... they didn't even give you any rule or something to follow."
"Indeed." Mirii's irises went left and right. "It's suspicious..."
"I was discussing about it with Fara... and she agrees that this whole dialogue with that man was completely odd."
"Odd or not, I have no other choices at this point..." Mirii's head lowered a little. "I must take advantage of this occasion and find this cursed room!"
"Wait! Fara is saying... ... she wants to help!"
"How can she help...?" Mirii took a deep breath. "Only I can interact with her. She has no presence outside her supportive role..."
"She... she said she will use a peculiar power that will help you in your task."
"... what kind of power she is gonna use on me...?" Mirii folded her arms, while still walking down the corridor. "Can you ask her what's this power?"
"Sure! Fara, what's this new power you mentioned?"
Silence fell in.
"... uh-huh... yes... I already mentioned it. ... ok..."
"Ah, the restroom!" Mirii already have her eyes on the right, noticing the figure of an Inkling woman attached on the sealed door and keeping her feet in position. "... even though I don't need it..."
Mirii's right hand grabbed the door handle, as she unlocked the door and walked through the entrance. Her right hand pushed the door back, as she observed the sinks on the right and three more doors on the left side.
"... it's just a regular restroom..."
"Hey, there is no need to use Fara's special power anymore!"
"No...?" Mirii pushed the entrance door back, before adventuring in the middle of the restroom."
"She said that the restroom is actually perfect!"
"What...?!" Mirii's mouth flattened and her eyes slightly puffed.
"... uh-huh... ... oh, really? ... Fara wants to come, regardless of the situation!"
"... you will grow back to normal, I assume..." Mirii approached a random sink, as her eyes looked at the mirror.
"Here I am!"
Mirii twisted her head towards her right side, watching Silin waving her right hand at her.
"I'm ready for the whole process!" The woman clenched her fists, as she shaped her mouth as a 3. "... really? ... ok!" She nodded.
"Now what?" Mirii's right hand grabbed her right tentacle, petting it delicately."
"Fara... wants you to face the wall and wait for her to do all the magic." Silin pushed her right tentacle back.
"Sure." Mirii turned 180 degrees, as she was now staring at the only whiteish wall in the distance.
"Ok... now I will allow Fara to take control of me, once again..." Silin lowered her head, as her eyes closed and her arms began waving on their own.
In less than five seconds, the woman reopened her eyes. Carefully she lifted her head, facing Mirii looking away...
"... Mirii, this is Fara speaking." She smiled a bit. "I will soon begin the necessary procedures."
Mirii gave a quick nod. The woman rose her hands, as a small ball of light-blue ink was forming above the woman's head.
As the orb was growing... the woman grinned a bit: she threw the orb against Mirii, who sidestepped on her left side and dodged the weapon who slammed against the wall.
"WHAT?!" The woman brought her right arm in front of her chest.
"... it was about time you would show your cards..." Mirii faced the woman, while frowning and folding her arms. "... only to see all them being wasted against the wall."
"Eh-eeeehh?!" The woman's tentacles went zigzag, as her arms stretched downwards and her hands opened widely as well.
"Surrender yourself, Demon Squid!" Mirii's right forefinger pointed over the woman's face. "I possess all the colours in the world..."
"... there is no way you would know me like this..." The woman lifted her posture, as she waved her right hand around. "Someone else must have said you all that!"
"... indeed there was." Mirii shook her head. "But I will not tell you anything about it."
"Grrrr..." The woman thrusted her right arm, as her hand palm pointed at the girl. "... do you think you can stop me with your pathetic super-powers? Ha!"
She smiled a bit, lowering her eyebrows as well.
"Get ready to meet your doom, Mirii Kelpshell...!"
