Linda Reagan didn't know why she was crying. She was married to the most wonderful man in the world, had an amazing son, had a nice home, and a loving family that would do anything for her. She wasn't hormonal or tired or angry- she wasn't anything. So why was she on the couch, in the middle of the day, clinging onto her husband's clean shirt, crying her eyes out? Why did she feel like nothing, like she was useless? Why couldn't she think of anything? Why was her mind filled with static?

Linda hated herself for sobbing loudly, hiding her face in her husband's shirt. She hated she didn't have a reason for crying. Heck, she even hated the big, fat, hot, ugly tears that streamed down her face. She hated how she couldn't stop them—that no matter how hard she tried, they kept coming by the bucketloads. She was crying so hard, she didn't realize she was hyperventilating, she didn't realize the one person who could stop her from crying had walked right through their front door.

"Linda?" Her husband said, his voice full of concern as he sat next to her in the couch.

"Oh, Danny!" Linda barely got out before another sob. She threw herself in his arms, longing to feel the warmth and safety she had always felt with his strong arms around her.

"Calm down, babe, whatever it is, I'm sure it's gonna be okay," Danny rubbed Linda's back and pressed his lips to her head. He felt her shake in his embrace, his heart breaking for his wife. He hugged her tighter when it seemed like she wasn't going to calm down.

"I'm sorry." Linda sort of said, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry!"

Danny pulled away a little bit, "why are you sorry?"

She sat up and wiped her eyes, "because I'm acting like a big baby."

"No, you're not. Something isn't settling with you. What is it?"

"I don't know! I just... I started crying for no reason. And-and-and." She paused to take a big breath. "I need a reason."

"Why?"

"So I feel less crazy."

"Oh, Linda, you're not crazy." Danny pulled her into an embrace.

"Yes, I am. I've been crying like this for weeks now. I'm hungry almost all the time, but don't feel like eating. I'm getting more and more tired, and I feel awful. Sick, even. And I've felt like throwing up, but never have. See?" Linda started crying again. "I am going crazy!"

The thought that flashed through Danny's mind was so far fetched, he didn't ask about it. Yet, there was this little voice telling him the thought was true. "You're not crazy, Linda. Maybe you should go to the doctors? See if you have a flu or somethin'?"

"Okay." She nodded, hoping she didn't have an incurable illness. She still had all her life to live- she wanted to see her one and a half year old get married. She wanted to grow old with her husband. She wanted to do all these things, and, to her, it looked like she wouldn't even be able to see next Thursday.

Danny and Linda waited in the doctor's office, waiting for an answer to Linda's blood work and other tests. She whimpered slightly, prompting Danny to tuck her under his arm.

"It's going to be okay," he kissed her temple, "don't worry."

Linda nodded, telling herself she was being silly.

"Well," the doctor said as she came back in, "these are very interesting results. How long did you say that you felt like this?"

"I dunno. Eight-ish, ten-ish week?" Truth be told, she had lost count. Her job was taking up a lot of her time, and she couldn't remember the last time she knew what day it was.

"That would line up with how old the baby is." The doctor smiled widely.

"What?!" Danny And Linda looked at each other, then the doctor, then at each other, then finally the doctor. "Baby?!"

"Yes. Linda, you're about nine weeks pregnant."

"Really?" She smiled from ear to ear. "With a Baby? A mini me or mini Danny?"

The doctor smirked and nodded, "Yes! Congratulations!"

"Oh, honey!" Linda couldn't help the happy tears as she and Danny hugged each other. "A baby!"

Danny kissed Linda's cheek, "we're gonna be parents again!"

The doctor smiled, loving how couples always got excited to learn they were having a tiny human being.

It turned out Danny's far fetched idea was right- they were having a baby. He couldn't wait to tell the family- they'd be so happy!
