"Going back inside that treehouse...?"

Mirii was holding her smartphone, while her right thumb was touching its screen.

"Sigh... I hope those two are available..." Her right hand brought the smartphone in front of her right ear. "... I don't even know if I will make it alone..."

Yo.

"... Greta..." Mirii sighed loudly.

... I'm sorry, Mirii...

"Hmm?" Her face went darker.

... I should have been there...

Her eyes closed.

"No, you needed to inform the studios about"

Screw the studios!

Mirii's mouth opened.

My best friend is crying because her boyfriend went missing and I'm supposed to care about a mere show?! What a bunch of seabull!

She blushed a lot, as her eyes went watery.

Why you told me to go inside the studios and talk about Hunry?! Why you didn't allow me to come with you?!

"Because we have responsibilities to respect and a job to keep!" Tears fell off her eyes. "We have signed a contract, Greta! Squids back in"

You are crying right now...

Mirii sniffed, as her left hand went over her left eye.

"... s-so?! Were you expecting me to not cry...?!"

... s-sob...

Mirii's mouth opened widely.

I-I'm so sorry, Mirii...! I-I just... I-I want to hug you right now!

Mirii was still crying, while keeping her mouth open.

... screw this! I-I'm coming to you!

"Greta, wait!" Mirii bended herself forward, as she was drenching her eyes with her left hand.

There is no way I will stay here, Mirii!

"No, this is different!" Mirii frowned a bit. "We must return inside our treehouse and activate that teleport!"

The girl ended up gritting her teeth.

... wh-why?

"My brother said that there is a computer who serves as the main data storage of the whole structure." She nodded. "It's connected with all the laboratory computers existing in our planet!"

... are you talking about a computer located inside that darn flyin' station in outer space...?

"Yes." Her eyes closed. "Look, I know that you don't like visiting"

We are there, Mirii.

"Huh?!" Her eyes went wide.

If Hunry's disappearance is related to Project Neo in some way, then you can bet your smartyphones that they would document him in some way!

...

"... oh..." Mirii's irises shrunk. "... that makes sense...!"

Still, that turfin' thing has been abandoned... isn't it odd that no Project Neo bozos ever thought of shuttin' things up, so smart Squids like us wouldn't infiltrate in their computers and such?

"... it's strange..." Mirii's head rose. "It's also strange why they chose a treehouse to hide their teleport..."

Who knows what they thought, back then. We should focus here on what are they really hidin' behind this station.

"... Greta..." Mirii's left hand grabbed her right elbow.

You still wanna go there, huh?

"If Rof found an important information regarding Project Neo, I'm confident said information exists." Mirii's eyes squeezed a little.

Is he even aware of the stuff goin' on?

"He is on the case just like us." Mirii nodded. "He also told me he found evidence on his own, which he used together with the evidence we found during our infiltrations in order to understand the whole picture behind this project."

... huh...

"Ah, I didn't told you about the discovery I made back home." Mirii rose her posture.

You did?

"Emi and Eri told me that Shrine Citizens wanted to enter inside the laboratory... but they were unable, due to a dark barrier blocking them out. The barrier disappeared at the same time as we entered inside the chief's room." She took a quick breath.

... don't tell me that

"Yes." Mirii lowered her eyebrows. "It appears that Demon Squids might be involved into this mess."

ARE YOU SQUIDDIN' ME?!

"... the station, Greta." Mirii's head rose. "The station holds the final answer who will reveal the beings behind such project."

Yeah, I'm gonna call Barsy and get over ya in a jiffy! Stay fresh and hang in there.

"Alright." Mirii brought her smartphone in front of her chest, as her right thumb pushed the red button on its screen.

Her eyes were still staring at the screen, changing itself into a collection of numbers.

"... should I... bring her too...?" Her head twisted towards her room's door. "The station is invaded by terrible monsters... perhaps..."

Her hand stored her smartphone away.

A car just parked itself next to another one. Immediately, Greta came out of the car and looked over the villa's main entrance.

The door opened, as Mirii came out of it. She was wearing black shorts, coupled with a long, brown jacket and a worker-type of hat made in jeans. Her shoes were pink trainers.

The girl walked all the way towards Greta who was smiling and waiting for her in front of the car. Suddenly, Greta dashed towards Mirii with her arms open.

Soon, she hugged Mirii tightly and pulled her against herself. Mirii's mouth opened a bit.

"... hang in there, Mirii." Greta pulled herself, as she smiled at her friend. "We will get him back."

Mirii stared at her friend... before smiling too and nodding.

In a few minutes, the Inkling girls were inside the car who was traveling through the asphalt surrounded by grass growing on uphills.

Mirii was sitting behind Carlson's driver seat, as she had her head staring at the headrest's back. Her head turned over her right side, watching the empty seats on the right side.

For a moment, her eyes were seeing Hun sitting on the rightmost seat. He was smiling back at Mirii... before he vanished.

Mirii's right hand slid towards the empty seat, as she almost fell sideways over them due to how much she was tilting.

She lifted her posture, while her eyes were still glued on the empty seats.

"Gotta say, though..."

Mirii's stare went on Greta, who was facing the asphalt.

"... not lookin' forward to get back inside that dreadful station..."

"Like, I'm right near ya!" Carlson chuckled. "No mumblin' stuff is gonna munch your tentacles."

"Brrrr!" Greta hugged her own arms. "Don't give me nightmares!"

Mirii smiled a bit.

"... Greta..." Her eyes closed.

"Yeah?" The called girl twisted her head over her left side.

"I'm not alone." Mirii giggled a bit.

"Uh?" Greta opened her mou-

Suddenly, Kelly appeared right on Greta's legs, sitting on them.

"Hiiiii!" The little girl chuckled.

"WHAT THE SHELL?!" Greta opened her arms widely, as her eyes almost popped out.

"Like, who is that?" Carlson turned his head over-

"LOOK AHEAD!" Mirii grabbed the driver seat with both her arms, while gasping. "YOU INGRATE!"

Carlson twisted his head back ahead, while sweat was jumping out of his head.

"... tee hee hee!" Kelly winked.
