Danny Reagan was Back in New York for some much needed rest and relaxation. It was his third year of his Marines tour, meaning he- thankfully- had one more year to go. As per the usual on his RR, he hung out with his girl as much as possible; which was becoming a harder thing to do because she was a student nurse with an LPN, making her somewhat high in demand. He had finally been able to convince her to join him for Sunday dinner- seeing that was the only time he could really see her.

Mary Reagan smiled a little bit as she watched her son pace. "What're you so nervous about?"

"Just fidgety." Danny responded, looking out the window. He smiled widely when he saw his girlfriend's car pull up. He greeted her at the door with a kiss, always happy to see her.

"Hey," Linda O'Shea smiled brightly, "I haven't gotten a chance to talk to you yet. You okay?"

Danny put his arm around her, "better now."

"Thank you, Commissioner Reagan," Linda leaned forward, looking towards Henry.

He paused, suspending the spoonful of mashed potatoes. "What?"

"I'm thanking you for making this meal for all of us," she watched as the dish of potatoes was passed to Jamie. "Because it took a lot of time away from your busy schedule to feed..." she did a quick head count, "nine people. It must've been hot and not very enjoyable, so thank you for that."

Henry smiled, "you're welcome, Linda. And call me Henry."

Linda smiled, "Henry."

"Where's the wine?" Joe wondered, looking for it.

"Oh, I left it in the kitchen." Henry frowned.

"I'll get it." Linda scooted away from the table, and headed into the kitchen. While she was there, the phone rang.

"Oh, Linda, could-" Mary started.

"Yeah, I've got it!"

Everyone turned to Danny, "keep her."

"I will if she wants to keep me."

Back in the kitchen, Linda listened to the person on the other end of the phone. "No, I'm sorry. You have the wrong number." She hung up, wine bottle in her hand. Turning around, she nearly tripped over Danny. "Danny! What're you doing on the floor?"

"Linda," Danny blew out a small breath, "I've loved you since we stood on the corner of Tenth and University Place. You know how they say absence makes the heart grow fonder? Well, that is absolutely true. I keep thinking of you whenever we're not fighting." He knew she knew that 'we' referred to the Marine Corps. "All the guys over there wanna party and do the horizontal tango with the girls over there. But not me. I wanna be with you. For the rest of my days, I wanna be by your side. I'll catch you when you fall, and I'll lift you up. I'll be your support, your anchor, and your backup. I'll watch your six, your twelve... hell, I'll watch your entire clock. I just... I love you, with my whole heart. So will you make me the happiest guy in the world?" Danny pulled a ring box out of his pocket and opened it, showing the classy gold band with the single diamond. "Linda Rose O'Shea, will you marry me?"

"Are you kidding?!" Linda wondered loudly enough for the family to hear, a big smile on her face. She saw Danny's face fall, "of course I'll marry you!" She dropped to her knees, caressed Danny's cheek, and kissed him soundly. She rested her forehead on his, "I love you so incredibly much."

Danny chuckled, "I love you so incredibly much more."

She grinned, "I love you so incredibly much most." She kissed him once again, not caring that he had one and a half years theft on his tour or that they probably wouldn't tie the knot till the late nineties. All she cared about was him, and that she was going to become Mrs. Daniel Fitzgerald Reagan.
