Chapter 13 No More Screen Time

Larry was in an interesting position, and not just in a literal sense. He was worried that his siblings would not come for him. Sure, they would do everything and anything in their power to make sure that they did get him back. But...the viruses that Larry had faced had been impossible for him to beat.

What if they got defeated? What if they got thrown into cages like he did? What if, what if, what if. There were so many what if questions ricocheting around in Larry's mind, and not one of them had an answer. Larry felt like crying from fear.

Will they ever come for me? he wondered as a sniffle and a tear made themselves known.

"Larry!"

Larry gasped. He looked out the bars and saw all six of his siblings coming his way.

"Guys!" Larry wanted to jump for joy. Iggy and Roy approached the iron clad cage that contained their little brother. Roy punched the lock, and it cracked into two. Larry laughed with glee; Roy was certainly very strong. He was so cool. Really, all of his siblings were. After all, they were able to do what Larry could not: beat the viruses. As Larry exited the cage, he smiled at his siblings, feeling immense waves of gratitude wipe his fears away.

"You guys came!" he exclaimed.

"Of course we did," Roy said, reflecting the smile on Larry's face. He chuckled and hugged his little brother. "I am so glad that you are safe."

Larry smiled as he held Roy in an embrace. The other Koopalings gathered around and all got into a group hug for about a minute. When they all released each other, Larry looked at Iggy, all the while feeling a little worried.

"I am so glad that you guys came for me," he said. "But how are we going to get out of here?"

"Yeah, that is a good question, Iggy," said Wendy. "How are we going to get out of here?"

Iggy grinned in a mysterious way.

"I have already thought of that. Okay, everyone close your eyes."

Larry watched each of his siblings shut their eyelids before he did the same thing. He heard Iggy start to count.

"One, two…."

Larry gasped, as if he had just come up for air after spending a large amount of time underwater. He looked around. He was back in the lab, still lying on the chair that he had previously been sitting on. He found that the helmet of the machine was still resting on his head. He looked around and saw that the rest of the Koopalings were starting to awaken. Once he was completely awake, Iggy grinned.

"And three."

Larry smiled and took the helmet off. He stood up and started to stretch his limbs.

"Man," he said. "Getting stranded in the internet really does something to you."

Iggy and Lemmy laughed.

"When it comes to side effects, I'm afraid you can't pixel and choose," said Lemmy.

Larry laughed. Despite the fact that Wendy and Iggy usually despised puns, they were also grinning.

"That was a good one, Lemmy," said Iggy. He then turned to Larry with a frown. "But what I still don't understand is why you had the desire to utilize my invention in the first place."

Larry felt ashamed. He directed his eyes toward the floor, refusing to make eye contact with his siblings.

"I….I…"

Suddenly, Larry felt someone place their hand on his shoulder. He looked up and saw Wendy.

"Larry, you can tell them," she said.

Larry nodded, counted to three in his head, and let out a breath.

"I wanted to find out who our Mom is," he admitted.

Suddenly, the angry look on Iggy's face was almost entirely replaced with sympathy. In fact, the rest of his brothers also looked the same way. Morton approached his little brother, all the while looking like he was about to cry.

"I know how you feel."

"You do?" asked Larry.

"Mmhm. I have spent most of my life wondering who she is. The only reason I don't think about it too much is that I have found it brings too much negativity into my life."

Larry stared at Morton, feeling horrible. He directed his eyes downward again.

"Is it even possible to find out who she is?" he asked.

Iggy sighed.

"I am exceedingly sorry that you feel this way, Lawrence. And as for your question, I don't know. Unless something miraculous occurs, I do not see anyway that that is possible." He smiled and put his hand on Larry's shoulder. "But we still have each other. There is nothing that can change that."

Larry smiled. Despite the fact that he still was curious about this, he felt much better.

"Thanks, Iggy."

Iggy smiled and wrapped Larry in another hug. The other Koopalings did the same, and they all huddled together in a pile. Larry grinned.

Man, my family is awesome.
