Time for another chapter of NRSY! This time, our heroes are going to receive reinforcements. You might know who they are. But I'm not going to spoil it if you've guessed already. I'm nice like that.

I might come up with more original arcs in the future. I wonder who I will make the villain though. I guess I could try to come up with an original character or use a preexisting one. I'm not making Ruby turn evil though. I find that concept to be kind of silly.

I guess it's about time for this arc to end. I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted.

Chapter 48: Father And Daughter

Melanie attacked first, charging towards the two on her bladed heels.

Naruto and Ruby quickly moved out of the way.

Militia then followed by slashing them with her claws.

Naruto narrowly avoided her strikes.

"I'm going to use you as a scratching post!" exclaimed Militia.

"That sounds like something Blake would do..." noted Naruto. He had fought her in the Chunin Exams.

Then again, Blake wasn't nearly as aggressive as his opponent was.

Ruby quickly parried the attack with her scythe.

"She's fast." noted Ruby.

But thankfully so was she. She was the fastest member of her team. Second place was Choji.

Suddenly, Militia raised her hands in the air.

"What is she up to?" inquired Naruto.

Ruby wasn't sure...but it would be best to keep her eyes open.

She then began to fire bullets from her claws.

"Why is everything a gun?" questioned Naruto. If he recalled correctly, Ruby's scythe also doubled as a gun.

"I don't know, but we need to avoid those bullets!" exclaimed Ruby.

Fortunately, Ruby was fast enough to deflect the bullets with her scythe.

However, Naruto ended up losing a few of his clones.

"Aw man..." said Naruto.

Naruto launched his Rasengan at Militia.

She narrowly avoided it.

"What was that?" asked Militia.

"I don't know but it looks strong..." noted Melanie.

Perhaps it would be best not to underestimate Naruto.

Militia and Melanie fired bombs at the duo.

"Look out!" exclaimed Ruby.

Naruto was knocked off his feet.

"You alright?" asked the girl.

Naruto nodded.

The two of them spun around to form a whirlwind.

Naruto was sucked in the vortex.

"Aah!" exclaimed Naruto.

This made him very dizzy.

And yes, he suffered several cuts.

That particular whirlwind happened to be sharp.

Perhaps it would be best if they tried using a fire jutsu against the twins.

But what fire jutsu did they have?

Suddenly, Ruby remembered that she had fire dust.

It was good for improvising fire jutsu.

She put the fire dust in her scythe and fired rounds of fire.

Unsurprisingly, the twins' wind jutsu didn't defend against it too well.

"Ouch!" exclaimed Militia.

"Hot hot hot!" shouted Melanie.

However, the twins weren't done yet.

The two of them launched kunai into the air.

The kunai then began to split into multiple kunai.

Pretty soon, it was raining kunai around them.

Naruto and Ruby were forced to take cover.

Fortunately, Ruby had an idea.

She spun around in a tornado...

...which caused the kunai to bounce off her scythe and towards the twins.

This caused the twins to fall over.

"Now, Naruto!" exclaimed Ruby.

Naruto tossed his Rasengan at the twins.

The two twins passed out.

A wide smile formed on Ruby's face.

"We did it!" cheered Ruby, a wide smile forming on her face.

They had taken care of those psychotic twins.

Naruto nodded, though he wondered how the others were doing.

Hopefully they were as successful as they were. If not...

Junior's dragon produced a tornado from its maw.

It began to swirl across the room.

"Here's hoping I don't get sent to the Land Of Oz..." thought the monkey.

Sun Wukong quickly attempted to avoid it.

As the tornado sped across the room, it dislodged several different portraits.

Incidentally, they seemed to be portraits of different Schnee Dust Company CEOs over the numerous years.

The wyvern then lunged towards Sun.

Quickly, he leapt over it.

"You may be a monkey, but you're not making a monkey out of me!" exclaimed Junior.

Sun threw a cream pie in Junior's face.

"You were saying?" asked Sun.

"Very funny..." answered the gangster as he rubbed the cream off his face.

Suddenly, Junior pulled out a rocket launcher.

He shot the rockets at Sun.

Sun quickly ran to avoid the rockets.

Inevitably, they exploded.

"I wish I had a rocket launcher..." thought Sun.

Then again, he already liked his old weapons.

Unfortunately, the wyvern sank its teeth into Sun's leg. It seemed that he hadn't paid attention and had gotten too close to the wyvern.

"Aah!" exclaimed Sun.

Junior laughed.

However, he shot the wyvern in the face, forcing the wyvern to let go.

The wyvern let out a roar.

The roar was loud enough to unnerve Sun.

Junior clenched his fist.

This time, he wasn't going to hold back.

"No more games! I'm going to use the wyvern's megabreath attack!" exclaimed Junior.

"Megabreath attack?" asked Sun.

Junior nodded.

The wyvern took a deep breath.

"That can't be good..." noted the boy.

Quickly, he braced for impact.

But a sudden gust of wind blew the megabreath away from Sun. It was green in color, incidentally.

It was good, because the wall broke behind them.

With a swing of her fan, Temari blew Junior off his wyvern.

He crashed to the ground.

Junior screamed.

"It's nice seeing you again..." noted Sun.

"It's...nice seeing you too." remarked Temari.

Junior was knocked out.

Temari then launched a tornado at the wyvern and it was down for the count as well.

"Ugh, I haven't received this kind of beatdown since the time Yang fought me..." noted Junior as he passed out. Unfortunately for him, not even his twins had been able to stop him.

"Did you bring your teammates with you?" asked Sun.

Temari nodded. Her two brothers had accompanied her inside the fortress.

"I'm not sure where they are now...but I suspect they should be able to help your teammates." noted Temari.

Sun sighed in relief.

To be honest, his teammates probably needed all the help that they could get.

Glacies fired laser beams from her eyes.

"Look out!" exclaimed Yang.

Yang and Choji leapt out of the way.

The lasers left burn marks on the wall.

"You shall be fried. That shall please my master." noted Glacies.

"It sure wouldn't please me." answered Yang.

Glacies then tossed a glaive towards Yang.

Yang avoided it.

Glacies then followed by tossing a knife at Choji.

It seemed that she was fond of sharp weapons.

Unfortunately, for Choji, he essentially inflated himself like a balloon, so those were effective against him.

Glacies created holographic versions of herself.

It seemed that she was trying to confuse them.

Shortly afterwards, a pillar emerged from the floor.

"What is that?" asked Choji.

"I don't know, but I'm sure it isn't anything good." answered Yang.

Unfortunately, it was not.

A laser burst out from the pillar.

Yang and Choji watched the laser carefully.

The laser then began to sweep across the room.

Most likely, it was burning hot to the touch.

"Jump!" exclaimed Yang.

Fortunately, Yang did not have to tell Choji twice.

However, the laser continued to circle around the arena.

Choji was starting to gasp for breath.

Unfortunately, he didn't exercise much.

Yang decided to punch the pillar to see if that did anything.

Sure enough, the pillar took damage.

However, it started to produce more lasers.

It looked as if leaping over the lasers wasn't an option anymore.

They were forced to run away from them instead.

Fortunately for Yang, she was fast enough to dodge the laser beams.

Unfortunately, Choji couldn't outrun them and he got zapped.

"Yeow!" exclaimed Choji.

Yang looked at Choji with concern.

Perhaps he could inflate himself and try wrecking the laser that way.

He did so and demolished the laser.

Unfortunately, Glacies then summoned some turrets.

The turrets opened fire on the duo.

Yang tried attacking Glacies, but it was only a hologram.

She couldn't tell them apart from the original.

It was becoming apparent to Yang and Choji that perhaps they were outgunned.

What were they going to do?

Suddenly, Penny arrived on the scene.

Yang was happy to see her.

"Hey, Penny! We could use your help here!" exclaimed Yang.

Penny nodded. That was why she was there.

She gave Glacies a hard punch.

"AAH!" exclaimed Glacies.

This seemed to be effective.

Rumor has it that Penny was strong enough to block a truck. That would be useful if there was ever a drunk driver on the streets. People dreaded the thought of a truck driver decided to drink beer before going for a drive.

"A robot fighting another robot. Go figure." remarked Yang.

Although, Penny was a lot less robot-like than Glacies was.

In fact, she seemed to have human blood.

It was weird.

Penny punched Glacies again, causing her to short-circuit.

Glacies attempted to fight back, but Penny was too quick.

It was becoming apparent that Penny was stronger than Glacies was.

Which was ironic, considering that Penny had the appearance of a cute little girl.

"My calculations of my chances of beating my fellow robot are decreasing by the second..." acknowledged Glacies.

Penny then fired a large laser beam and Glacies crashed into the wall.

"I calculate that my chances of beating you are now minimal...going offline..." murmured Glacies.

Glacies shut down.

Yang raised her hands in the air.

"We did it!" exclaimed the blonde.

Choji smiled.

Maybe they could go out to eat afterwards.

However, they wondered how Pyrrha was doing.

Surely the champion of Mistral could defend herself, right?

Then again, Jacques Schnee had quite a few tricks up his sleeve.

Whitley charged towards Pyrrha on his frightful steed.

Pyrrha quickly dashed out of the way.

"Don't think your success as the tournaments means that you'll win this!" exclaimed Whitley.

The lion head of the chimera let out a roar.

It nearly knocked Pyrrha off her feet, but she caught herself in time.

The snake then attempted to bite Pyrrha.

From the looks of it, it was poisonous.

But she dodged in time and stabbed the snake.

The snake hissed.

The goat launched a fireball.

Pyrrha parried it with her shield.

However, she briefly dropped her shield as it had turned orange with heat.

Personally she wondered how the goat was capable of using ninjutsu.

But she decided not to dwell on it while she was in the middle of a fight.

However, the chimera followed by swiping its paw at Pyrrha.

She was knocked backward a few feet.

The goat then followed by launching lightning.

Pyrrha was zapped.

"Aah!" exclaimed the huntress. For a moment, her hair stood on end.

And unfortunately, her armor was made out of metal. As durable as it was, it was still conductive.

Whitley smirked.

However, Pyrrha stabbed the chimera with her spear.

The chimera let out a roar.

Whitley scowled at her.

The snake attempted to wrap itself around Pyrrha's ankle.

However, she had learned from experience that she should keep her ankle protected. She remembered that during her fight with Kankuro.

She stabbed the snake instead.

The snake hissed.

Shortly afterwards, the serpent's eyes began to swirl.

For a moment, she wondered if she had given the snake a concussion...which was strange considering she was using a sharp weapon instead of a blunt one.

However, she eventually realized what was actually going on.

Quickly, Pyrrha looked away before she fell victim to a genjutsu.

Considering that it was being cast by a snake, it would most likely be scary.

The goat followed by firing a burst of water, but she parried it with her shield.

She then stabbed the snake and it fell unconscious.

Whitley's fist tightened.

"Not bad, but I'll still beat you!" exclaimed Whitley.

The goat head launched a stalagmite from below at Pyrrha, which she narrowly avoided.

However, the lion bit her on the arm.

"Aah!" exclaimed Pyrrha.

This cost her a significant amount of chakra.

"A bit more than you can handle, Mistral champion?" asked Whitley.

"Don't think I'm down for the count just yet." answered the spearwoman.

Pyrrha tossed her shield at the goat head.

This gave it a concussion.

She then leapt on top of the chimera and stabbed the goat head.

The goat head was down for the count.

Whitley clenched his fist.

Taking down the goat head caused the chimera to go wild.

Pyrrha was having a hard time staying on.

And to make matters worse, Whitley was trying to push her off.

However, Pyrrha pushed him off instead.

Pyrrha then struck the lion head with her spear.

The lion let out a defiant roar.

A few seconds later, the beast collapsed, falling on top of Whitley.

"No! No no no no!" exclaimed the teenage boy as the chimera fell on him.

Pyrrha sighed in relief.

She hadn't had a challenge like that since the time that that fight she had in the forest during the Invasion of Vale.

She decided to take her leave.

But at that very moment, Whitley came in.

"Surprise, Mistral champion! I'm not done yet!" shouted Whitley.

"What?" asked Pyrrha.

Unfortunately, it seemed that though the beast had fallen on top of him, he was still conscious...though he had been visibly injured by the attack. Perhaps he should visit the hospital.

Suddenly, Whitley started tossing paper bombs everywhere.

It seemed that he had a knack for using explosives.

Miraculously, none of the paper bombs landed near him.

The same could not be said for Pyrrha.

Pyrrha gasped as she was sent flying by a big explosion.

She collapsed to the ground.

"Hahahaha!" laughed Whitley.

It looked as if had managed to defeat the supposedly invincible champion of Mistral.

He was so proud of himself.

But his luck was about to run out, unbeknownst to him.

At that very moment, unexpected help arrived.

Suddenly, wooden arms grabbed onto Whitley.

He looked around and discovered that he had been caught by a puppetmaster.

"Let me go!" exclaimed Whitley.

Whitley was then trapped inside the Black Ant.

"Let me out of here!" demanded Whitley.

Kankuro helped Pyrrha to her feet.

"Thanks..." stated Pyrrha.

Whitley banged his fists against the puppet.

But that didn't seem to work.

"Please! I'm nyctophobic!" exclaimed Whitley. "And claustrophobic too!"

Suddenly, Pyrrha noticed something.

Wasn't he the ninja that she defeated in the forest? Surprisingly, he could actually hold his own against her, even if he didn't technically win.

His name was Kankuro, if she recalled correctly.

Well, if he decided that he was friends with her instead of an enemy, she decided that she would accept that.

Besides, she got the feeling that her magnetism could very well enhance Kankuro's weapons. Most of them were made of metal...the exception he had used against her.

Pyrrha decided to ask Whitley a question.

"Why are you doing your father's bidding, anyway?" asked Pyrrha. Personally she would never do Jacques Schnee's work after what had almost happened to General Ironwood.

"Just that! He's my dad!" exclaimed Whitley.

"Don't his daughters not obey him? They think that he's a bad man...and I'm inclined to agree with him." noted the teenage girl.

"He promised me I'd get to inherit the Schnee Dust Company!" exclaimed Whitley.

"Are you sure he doesn't want to mold you into a person like himself? One who abuses Faunus?" asked Pyrrha. Personally she didn't want more than one Jacques Schnee in the world. One was bad enough.

"Hmm..." said the boy.

"His popularity has really plummeted ever since he decided that he was going to murder General Ironwood..." pointed out Kankuro. Nowadays people were tearing down posters of him.

They were also spraying paint on his statues.

"Perhaps I shouldn't be my father's puppet..." noted Whitley. It seemed that there were a lot of Faunus that hated him. And he didn't want to resort to assassination to get what he wanted.

If he chose to follow his father's legacy, he could end up being assassinated by the Faunus. Adam Taurus would particular would probably want his head mounted on his wall...which was kind of ironic considering he was part animal.

Ironically enough, he was trapped inside of a puppet.

"Alright, I won't do my father's bidding anymore. I'm a changed man." said Whitley.

"You promise?" asked Pyrrha.

"Yes!" exclaimed the boy.

Kankuro released Whitley from his puppet.

He sighed in relief.

Before Jacques fought his daughter, he decided to ask her a question.

"Do try to make this interesting for me, will you, Weiss? I'd be disappointed if your training was all for nothing." noted Jacques. Her daughter had always wanted to be a huntress.

"I'll do my best." assured Weiss.

Though to be honest, she wondered to herself if she could take down such an enormous robot.

Still, her sensei would be disappointed in her if she didn't put in some effort.

Jacques launched missiles from the robot's left arm.

Weiss quickly ran around the battlefield to dodge the missiles.

These missiles happened to be heat-seeking.

However, for that exact same reason they weren't well-suited to deal with Weiss's icy summons. The missiles simply would not lock on to them.

This made dodging the missiles a lot easier for them.

And to make matters worse, Weiss got the smart idea of redirecting the missiles towards the robot.

This inevitably resulted in his mech taking damage.

Jacques noted that perhaps he should try a different tactic.

However, he then remembered that the robot also came with a flamethrower.

He decided he would use that. Perhaps that would be effective.

The robot began to spew flames.

Quickly, Weiss countered with a water jutsu.

The robot then began to fire a laser.

Weiss was hit dead-on.

"Aah!" exclaimed the icy huntress.

For a moment, she was worried that her chakra had been broken through.

But she helped herself to her feet. She wasn't going down that easy.

She then began to slash the robot.

Her speed was rather impressive.

Fortunately for Jacques, the damage didn't seem to be severe, though he DID notice a warning message appear onscreen.

Jacques frowned. He wondered if the robot was enough to take down his daughter.

But he decided he would keep trying.

At least this fight was entertaining him.

The robot began to stomp the floor.

It looked as if Jacques was attempted to crush her summons.

However, she herself was too fast to be stomped by the mecha's feet.

The robot then began to launch grenades.

Weiss quickly moved around to move the bombs.

Unfortunately, some of her summons were blown up.

But Weiss could summon more.

Or she could, if it weren't for the situation that she found herself in.

Suddenly, the robot grabbed Weiss.

Weiss gasped.

Unfortunately, the robot had an iron grip. How was she going to get out of this one?

Maybe she should have tried summoning Gamabunta. He was roughly the same size as the robot.

Though to be fair, Gamabunta worked best in an aquatic environment.

"Would you really kill your own daughter?" asked Weiss.

"No worries. I won't kill my own flesh and blood." noted the man.

Weiss found that to be reassuring...

..but even so, she doubted that her father would let her go unpunished.

"Still, you know what they say...spare the rod and spoil the child." said Jacques.

He began to press some buttons on the control panel.

He was about to give Weiss a painful shock.

But at that very moment, something unexpected happened.

Suddenly, sand grabbed the arm that was holding onto Weiss, forcing him to let go.

Weiss was surprised by the occurrence.

It looked as if Weiss wouldn't be zapped after all.

"What?!" shouted Jacques Schnee.

He began to look around the battlefield.

As it turned out, it was none other than Gaara.

His eyes widened with surprise.

"Is that...the Fifth Kazekage?!" exclaimed the white-haired man.

He wasn't expecting to see him here of all places. Was it his day off or something?

Unsurprisingly, he had come to help stop Jacques.

Weiss was actually happy to see him again. To be honest, it had been a while.

Thankfully, he seemed to be sane now.

"And here Whitley said that I was going to regret sparing Gaara's life." noted Weiss. Showed how much that he knew.

On that note, he wondered how his fight with Pyrrha had turned out. She had quite a winning streak.

Weiss wondered what she and Gaara were capable of now that they were working together instead of fighting one another.

She was about to find out.

Gaara summoned a sand golem and Weiss summoned a snow golem. Both of them were roughly about half the size of Jacques's mecha.

The two golems began to pummel the robot with their fists.

Jacques gasped as the robot began to shake from the force of the blows. It seemed metal wasn't much of an issue to them.

Unfortunately, now that he was fighting a two-to-one battle, he was at a disadvantage. Especially since one of them happened to be a jinchuriki. There were frightening stories about Shukaku, the one-tailed beast.

And to make matters worse, the golems seemed to be doing something...strange. They seemed to be breathing on his mech.

Suddenly, he realized what was going on.

The golems were imprisoning him in stone!

And unfortunately for him, there was nothing he could do to stop them. It was happening too quickly.

Jacques Schnee was sealed inside a prison of rock.

Weiss and Gaara both smiled.

It looked as if they had successfully brought Jacques to justice.

Sure enough, after they had captured Jacques, the police came to take him to jail.

Jacques was taken towards a police van with handcuffs on his wrists with his hands behind his back.

"To think my own daughter would best me..." stated Jacques.

Hopefully he had a good lawyer. He was going to need it.

Junior and the twins had been arrested as well.

Glacies would be rebuilt...but she would no longer be doing Jacques's bidding.

Personally Weiss wondered what her future would be like now that her father was in police custody.

Maybe now she could spend time with her real family. In her case it was Jiraiya and Rock Lee. And her teammates.

Although, it seemed that Whitley had changed his ways. He was in crutches after his battle with Pyrrha.

Hopefully now life would be better for the Faunus. Blake Belladonna seemed happy to hear the news at least.

Perhaps she could make a new name for the Schnee family.

One that didn't involve Faunus discrimination.

"By the way, I heard you defeated Kimimaro..." noted Gaara. They say he was strong enough to take down an entire army of ninja.

Considering he was able to take down legions of Naruto's clones without ever using his cursed seal, perhaps they had a point.

"Sort of. He died of an illness. But that wouldn't have happened if I didn't wear him down." spoke Weiss. It helped that he had activated the second stage of his cursed seal, which was known to wear down the user.

"I'm impressed." answered the sand ninja. Although, perhaps he could have done the same. At this point he seemed about as strong as Weiss herself was. The main reason she had won against him was because unlike him, she still had her sanity at the time.

Perhaps if he were to meet an untimely fate, he would have Weiss take over the sand village.

Alternatively, he could ask his siblings to do the job. Should he choose Temari or Kankuro? Then again, Temari was the older one.

"I suppose it was impressive. Though to be honest, I feel bad for him." stated Weiss.

Gaara nodded. She was very sympathetic towards others...most likely due to her not-so-stellar childhood.

Well, now that Jacques Schnee was gone, perhaps Faunus racism would decrease.

Weiss doubted it would go away completely...

...but she could deal with it if she encountered it.

Meanwhile...

Adam Taurus was happy to hear the news regarding the Schnee Dust Company scandal. Jacques Schnee had been arrested. He had some nerve trying to frame them for a crime that they didn't commit. He probably would have had him assassinated if it weren't for the shocking turn of events.

He considered going to prison to assassinate Jacques...but he figured that might be too risky.

This made him reconsider going to war with the humans, and making them kneel down to him. Now that Jacques Schnee was gone it seemed that Faunus racism had ultimately decreased.

But even so, his experiences with the Schnee Dust Company had still haunted him.

He took his mask off for a moment to look at his facial scar. He had Jacques Schnee to thank for that.

Strangely enough, his eyes did not look evil at all. He didn't look obviously evil like Orochimaru did, it seemed. In fact, he kind of looked like Kabuto.

Ultimately, he decided that he would continue his plans. He had gotten too far to turn back now.

And besides, Blake had betrayed him. He would not forgive her for that.

He would get his revenge someday.

And if everything went according to plan, that day would be soon.

Were you hoping that Gaara and Weiss would work together at some point? Rest assured, it just might happen again.

It looks like Jacques Schnee is off to prison for attempted murder. Perhaps if he were a better person he wouldn't have ended up serving prison time. Fortunately now that he's behind bars things should improve for the Faunus.

Racism won't just magically disappear, but rest assured the world will still be a better place for them.

In the next chapter, the Vytal Tournament will begin.

I bet you're looking forward to that. Then again, you're probably familiar with the events of Volume 3.

I think I'll also include the events of Volume 4 in the future. Personally I liked that volume better than Volume 3.

In other news, Pyrrha lives to see another day. If you're wondering if Cinder will send her off to meet her maker...well, I have something different planned.
