Kate awoke to Piccolo's heart beat.

He still had her cradled in his arms.

She carefully looked at her phone- it was 3 in the morning.

"Hey." Piccolo looked down at her- concerned.

"Hey."

Should I get off, or stay here....

Kate gently rolled out of his arms, and onto the other side of the bed.

Piccolo shook his limbs out, as they had gone numb a while ago.

"How are you feeling?"

Kate smiled. "I've been worse I guess."

Piccolo placed his hands behind his head.

Kate kneeled and touched the bottom of his eye, causing him to flinch.

"Ow."

She sighed. "I suck. Did you manage to put ice on it at least?"

Piccolo looked away shyly.

"My hands were kind of full."

Kate blushed, and slid off of the bed. She walked to Piccolo's side and grabbed his hand for him to follow her.

"Where are we going?"

"We're gonna go put some ice on it."

She held onto his hand gingerly, still feeling a bit shy.

"You know you're going the wrong way right?"

She laughed.

"Of course! I don't even know where we are right now!"

She began to drag him in the opposite direction.

"I can hold it myself, Kate."

Piccolo was seated on one of the kitchen chairs, as Kate stood and held an ice pack against his eye.

It had been 30 minutes since they had left the room. Most of the time was spent with Piccolo explaining to Kate where they were, and what was what.

They finally made their way to the kitchen which looked like the rest of The Lookout- except it was indoors and had furniture.

"No! Let me help you for once." She adjusted an ice pack on his face.

"Thanks, I guess." He closed his left eye.

"No, thank you. I honestly don't know how I'll ever make it up to you...I've done nothing but give you trouble since day one." She sighed.

"You're just as bad as Gohan." He chuckled. "Just call it even."

"What?"

"I told you that if you landed a punch on me, we'd decide what you'd get. So let's just call it even."

She laughed. "Fine, sounds like a deal."

Piccolo's smile suddenly dropped.

"Who was that man, and why were you so angry with him?"

Kate looked at him surprised, unsure of how he knew...

"I heard the whole thing."

She sighed. "He's my ex boyfriend."

Piccolo's heart twisted into a knot.

"We dated for a while, but things just didn't work out in the end."

"What happened?"

"He was a big shot, and I was just a nobody. That's all."

"Oh."

Piccolo forced a smile in hopes it would help Kate smile.

"I don't think he'll be coming around again, and if he does- just let me know."

Piccolo could feel his blood boiling just thinking about him.

"Thanks, but I think you've saved me enough." She adjusted the ice pack. "I really appreciate it though."

He nodded.

"Can't believe I'll be going back home in 5 days."

Piccolo felt his heart drop.

"What?"

"Yeah, I can't believe it's already been 2 months...so fast."

"Why do you have to go? I think Gohan and Chi-Chi enjoy your company?"

Kate sighed.

"I love it there, but I have to go back to work..."

Piccolo looked at her surprised- forgetting her life outside of the Son residence.

"Well then- so be it. I'll make sure to say goodbye."

She laughed. "You mean you won't even come visit me? Call me crazy, but I actually like your company."

He blushed. "I guess I could..."

"Oh crap!"

The ice pack started to drip. Kate quickly ran to the sink, holding her other hand under the ice pack in an attempt to catch the water.

Piccolo blinked his right eye.

"I think that's good enough."

Kate came back and dried her hands on the back of her pants.

"Well make sure you ice it again tomorrow...er- I mean later."

He nodded, then chuckled upon hearing Kate's stomach grumble.

"You're hungry."

She blushed. "I'm actually okay...but I could go for a Drumstick..."

Piccolo was taken aback.

"That of a turkey, or chicken?"

She laughed. "It's a type of ice cream...wanna go get some?"

"Where?"

She pondered for a bit.

"There's a 7-Eleven near my house.."

He stepped closer to her, as a signal that he was about to pick her up.

She wrapped her arms around his neck as he lifted her up, except this time, she focused on his face.

He's pretty damn attractive..

Piccolo looked away uncomfortably.

"What?"

She came out of her trance- startled.

"Nothing. Sorry."

He then took off.
