On my last chapter review thingy, I noted that I didn't care if you guys thought it was bad, in which I actually didn't mean. Of course, I care about how you guys feel toward it, I kinda just meant that I accept all the criticism y'all have for my story. Anyways, here's the next chapter and I hope you enjoy it!
As I fell, I noticed everything around me, kinda like how your life flashes before your eyes when you die, but it wasn't that. I heard Lily screaming my name as she dove and flew toward me trying to catch up, and my broomstick just levitating there by itself.
I also heard a voice in my head saying, believe in yourself, trust that you will fly.
Not knowing what else to do, I took a deep breath and concentrated. All of a sudden, I stopped falling. Thinking I fell and killed myself (being the cocky jerk I was) I slowly opened my eyes. I was flying!
No, my broomstick didn't somehow just zoom down and catch me 3 inches before I hit the ground, I was flying by myself! I looked around, and saw Lily, her mouth agape.
"Umm, can't wizards cast a spell or something that they can fly without a broomstick?" I asked her, though judging from her look of bewilderment, I already knew the answer.
"No – how – what" she stammered.
"How did I fly? I don't know, I just heard this voice inside my head saying to believe and trust in myself. I had no other choice, so I did just that." I explained. That did not clear the air for her, she still looked really confused.
"Just a by the way, let's keep this our little secret that I could fly, okay?" I requested.
She nodded her head in agreement.
Just then, an elderly woman came rushing out to check on us.
"I am Madam Pomfrey, the nurse of Hogwarts. Headmistress McGonagall sent me out here with an urgent request as she saw, from her window, a student fall of his broom, about 5 stories high on the Quidditch Field." She said
"I guess that was me." I said
She also looked at me in bewilderment. "Can we go to Headmistress McGonagall's office to talk to her about something?" I requested
She checked to see if I had sustained any injuries from falling, and she allowed me to go to her office.
I am so used to seeing the principal's office a confined room that's small and closed off. When Lily and I arrived in there, it was anything but.
"Headmistress McGonagall, we have to ask you about something." I stated as we entered.
Lily tugged at my robes, as if to stop me from saying too much, but I whispered "This is the headmistress of our school. If anything, she really cares about the students that attend." I reassured her.
"You're supposed to be in the hospital wing, young man! You just fell of your broom, about 5 stories high!" she exclaimed
"That's the thing we wanted to talk to you about. We actually made a discovery that Jorge can fly." Lily said
"What now?" Headmistress McGonagall said, awestruck.
"I can fly. As I was falling, I heard a voice in my head telling me to relax and concentrate and envision myself flying. So, I did, and I flew! Had I not, you would've had a dead student having fallen off a broomstick." I explained
"Oh no no no no, we can't have this so soon! I was just warned about this" she muttered
"Warned? As in Jorge's flying is a bad sign? Will he turn out like my dad as well, having a piece of Voldemort's soul inside of him?" Lily asked
"No none of that, thank heavens. I was told by Albus' painting that a mysterious wizard would attend this school and have powers like no other who would be the bridge between two worlds that don't normally get along. I mean it has been 21 years since our last war, but it's still too soon for another big event in our school! I must contact who Albus referred me to when this happens." She answered
"Albus Dumbledore former headmaster? Or my brother, Albus Severus?" Lily questioned
"Bah! Not your brother, he shouldn't know such things, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore of course! And while we're on the topic, do not tell anyone about this incident, except at least your mom, Jorge." Headmistress McGonagall stated.
"Lawson, you must contact your mother to question her about your father, and if she had any idea who he was. Take Lily with you, you may need some assistance. Go to my fireplace and use the Floo powder to get to wherever your mother is."
"Yes ma'am." I responded. My mother would be on a lengthy lunch break from her work at this time (she was so good at her work that her boss granted her extra time for her breaks) so she'd be at home right now. I told Lily to announce my exact address, 325 Bay River Drive, right before she threw the Floo Powder down.
I let her go first, because I'm a gentleman, and ladies first. She said the right address, so when it was my turn, I appeared at the chimney at my house next to where Lily was standing.
I had really forgotten the time difference between England and Tampa, Florida, as it was still morning there, and I noticed my mother had (luckily) not gone to work that day.
"Jorge! Did you already get expelled from Hogwarts?" She said, "And is this your girlfriend?" She added with a smirk.
"Nope, she's my best friend, and nope." I replied, with a hug. She really wanted to be related to Harry Potter, even if it took her son to marry his daughter. "We actually came here to question about my dad."
"Oh" she replied. "What happened? Why do you need to know about your dad?"
Lily and I told her all about the accident and how we were playing around in the Quidditch Field and my near-death experience.
"Jorge! You didn't even know how to fly a broomstick and you were doing all kind of tricks on it? You should know better than that!" She accused
"I know mom, I shouldn't have done that" I responded, but added in a whisper "whatever it takes to impress the girl, am I right?"
"Ugh! None of that right now Jorge! We have more important matters to discuss, as in your parentage." She said "Your father was an amazing man; we fell in love and then I had you. Normally he would make visits to see us, but then all of a sudden that stopped when you were 2 years old. He then came to me in a dream, telling me who he really was, and when you'd show your first signs of his blood, to take you to this camp in New York called Camp Half-Blood."
Dang, man. To think I was already amazed and bewildered when I first arrived at Hogwarts, seeing magic be real and all that stuff, and now this, that I'm related to a Greek deity? I feel like headmistress McGonagall was pretty right. This could either be a big blessing, or a terrible curse that has been bestowed upon me.
"So, Jorge, Lily, let's get some Floo Powder and go to New York!" my mom enthusiastically said.
Soo, here's my early updated chapter, its short but today I actually added two chapters instead of one. Idk, I've been getting a lot of ideas, and that's why I've been able to update this so quickly. But yeah, I ask you to please leave a review on my story! If it's a good review, thanks! If it's a critique, I'll work on whatever your suggestions are!
