Dollface pointed to the unopened glass window next to the one full of flailing arms, and as if on cue, an orange arm came crashing through. It flailed at her, the owner howling with madness.
Dollface shivered and threw the bottle, delighting in the speedy aftermath.
There's a place I know if you're looking for a show, where they go hardcore and there's glitter on the floor.
Dollface slipped some cheap vodka out of the crooked sleeve and prepared the next one, tossing it in through a different window near the front.
She rammed a door open, alerting the alarms of her presence and threw it in at the surviving nightguard.
"Make sure he gets out!" She yelled to Bertrum looming shadow.
Two guards?
Now that was REALLY unexpected! And they turn me on, when they take it off, when they take it off, everybody, take it off!
Animatronics came from all around, all corners, some big, others small, each reeking of both animal and child blood.
A toy sized bear cub blew a red airhorn at Dollface, making her jump, then punt him into the wall, quickly followed by the corrosive flames of cheap whiskey.
"Wren, we must leave."
Dollface whirled around, last bottle shaking, ready for fire. "Who th'hell are ya?"
Everybody take it off!
A brown face framed by swirling silver whirled into her view.
"Leave."
"I have to-"
"Leave."
"NO!"
The face glared at her protest and grabbed her shoulders.Right now! Take it off! Right now! Take it off! Right now! Take it off! Right now! Take it off! Right now! Take it off! Right now! Take it off! Everybody take it off!
"We need to go!"
Dollface's jaw dropped as she nodded, unable to fight, but craving the flames.
"But where's m'head?"
"It's in the car," the silver-haired woman assured softly in the roaring flames, "Just hurry."
"How did it get there?"
"Don't ask questions, just trust me."
"What's your name?" Dollface asked meekly, ignoring her orders, "No, wait. Where's m'face?"
"I'll tell you in a bit!" the escort shouted back, dragging Dollface by the hand through fires, "And the face is safe too!"There's a place downtown where the freaks all come around. It's a hole in the wall, it's a dirty free for all.
Dollface closed her eyes, bracing for impact, but instead, felt herself being pulled along. She opened her eyes.
She was in the alley, still holding hands with the woman with the painted face.
"See, not so bad, dearie."
"Did we just?"
"Walk through a wall?" Bertrum finished, looming from the shadows. "Hurry up already. I'm hungry."
"Oh Bertrum, I see you're still as glutinous as ever." the woman shook her head, already leading Dollface from the roaring building. Dollface stopped, letting go.
She could hear them.
All of them.
Dollface pressed her tiny frame against a brick wall, ear to the rough red.
It was warm against cold skin.
And they turn me on when they take it off, when they take it off, everybody, take it off
A dance macabre, with every new scream a lyric.
Some died away, others kept going on and on, into eternity.
It was the sound of children's terror.
She shook off the demons.
Dollface closed her dark eyes.
She could hear the animals' screams first.
Abused dogs, kicked cats, all of them stuffed into smaller animatronics for a quick high by a smelly man in a bunny suit. Then came larger animatronics, full of children. Some real young, others as old as the little nightmare outside. Each one hidden away like a secret treasure for no one to find.
Dollface started humming, unheard over the sound of children crying for attention.
For help.
For acknowledgement.
They were too fucking loud.
"May you always walk in sunshine…." She breathed out, listening to the dead, "Slumber warm when night grows cold…."
Dollface sighed, throat closing in, feeling exhausted as her voice shook, "May you always live with laughter, for a smile? It becomes you so….."
There's a place I know if you're looking for a show.
"Let's go, NOW!"
Dollface yelped, being picked up and dragged away from the screams before she could hear them die out.
Or finish.
"Put me down!" Her voice cracked, desperately to a roaring fire.
"No!" the silver woman yelled, crystalline wings buzzing loudly as she hovered over the asphalt, "We have to go!"
Dollface shook against her carrier's wasp waist, trying to struggle away from the iron bars.
No use.
There was no escape.
Only fire.
Where they go hardcore and there's glitter on the floor.
"Hannah Annafellows."
Dollface dizzily sat down in the passenger seat behind the woman.
"Hi."
Hannah Annafellows.
Aunt Hannah Annafellows.
How many did Dollface have now, jeez!
Dollface looked at her new aunt.
She was dressed like a maid now, without a hint of a wasp's waistline or painted face. Dollface nodded, clutching the DollBot's face and the golden suit head close to her body.
And Dollface was very tired...
And they turn me on when they take it off, when they take it off, everybody, take it off!
