"People need real jobs... like Erin." Jack stared right at Linda.
Danny noticed this right away, "what did you say?"
"People need real jobs like Erin?"
"Like Erin..." he stole a quick glance at Linda, "So being a Mom isn't a real job? Being a lady, who is fully capable of a job, but chooses to look after her children- one of which barely happened... isn't a job? Running a household, looking after a toddler and a baby isn't a job? Is that what you're saying?"
"No! I'm just saying people should have real jobs like me and Erin."
"Like you and Erin."
"Yeah!"
"That's it. Come on, Linda. We're leaving." Danny picked up Sean from his high chair.
"Come on, Jack." Linda said quietly, helping Jack from his chair. "We're going home."
Danny ushered his family into the car, boiling with anger over what Erin's good for nothing husband had said.
"No, not the Olsen file, the Cameron file." Jack said unto the phone.
"Jack!!" Danny yelled as he entered the attorney's office, slamming the door behind him.
"I'm kinda busy."
Danny took the phone out of his hand and slammed it down. "Now you're not."
"You're gonna Pay for that."
"How dare you?"
"How dare I What?"
"How dare you make Linda cry! She cried all the way home, she cried herself to sleep, and she's still crying! Nobody makes my wife cry and gets away with it. What do you have to say for yourself?"
"Maybe she's too hormonal. Maybe she cried too much."
"What did you say? What did you say?"
"You heard me."
Danny held back the awful curse word he wanted to say. Instead, he took the hot cup of coffee on the table. In one swift moment, he threw the hot contents into the lawyer's face. "Son of a b!tch." He stormed out of the office.
Danny sat a crying Linda in the chair next to his desk. He handed her a box of tissues from his desk drawer. "Calm down, it's okay. No one was hurt, right?"
Linda nodded vigorously. She had been in a fender bender, the other car at fault.
"It wasn't your fault, anyways."
"I know."
"You do?"
"Yeah." She smiled through her tears when Danny kissed her forehead.
"Danny!!"
Linda and Danny looked at a steaming Erin walking up to him.
"Yeah, sis?"
"You threw hot coffee on Jack."
"He offended Linda!"
"And that gives you justification to pour coffee on my husband."
Danny looked at Erin, "you agree with that @ss."
"What? No, I-"
"You don't think motherhood is as important as lawyers? Guess what, sis, lawyers are bottom feeding sharks! They're- they're pond scum!"
Linda started to snicker when she heard about how Danny threw coffee on Jack. When her husband called lawyers pond scum, she let out a laugh.
Erin shot her a look.
"Sorry." Linda tried not to laugh, but couldn't hold it in. "You threw coffee on him?"
"Yeah... it is kinda funny, isn't it?" Danny's lips curled into a smile as he started laughing.
"Guys! It's not funny! He could've been burned!"
Danny and Linda's giggles grew bigger, prompting Erin to huff angrily. Spinning on her heel, she stormed out of the precinct, leaving the couple to laugh by themselves.
