A/N: Hello everyone, I am back with chapter 110 of this story. Here, we flashback to see Spinel and Pink Diamond.

Disclaimer: I don't own Steven Universe

It was a beautiful and sunny day in Ocean City. At their home just outside, the Diamonds where attending to work. White, Yellow and Blue had had duties are deans or, in the last case, the head of a department. Pink had none of this, but she had her greenhouse in the back. She was currently here tending to her hibiscus flowers when the door opened.

"Hello!" cried Spinel.

"I was wondering if you where going to come by." mused Pink.

Pink stopped her work and gave her full attention to Spinel.

"Of course! You're my best friend!" declared Spinel.

"That's so nice to hear." said Pink.

Pink Diamond noticed Spinel hadn't closed the door behind her.

"She's too excited. I don't want to bring her down." thought Pink Diamond.

"You wanna play?" asked Spinel happily.

"Of course." answered Pink Diamond.

"Yipee!" exclaimed Spinel excited.

Spinel did a back flip and knocked over a bag of potting soil spilling some on the floor.

"Sorry." said Spinel.

Pink Diamond chuckled causing Spinel to grin.

"That was too funny for me to be mad." replied Pink Diamond.

Spinel picked up the bag and Pink Diamond swept up the spilled soil.

"Now, what game should we play?" asked Pink Diamond.

Spinel tapped her chin.

"How about...hide and seek." answered Spinel.

"That sound wonderful." replied Pink.

"You hide and I'll find you." said Spinel.

"Sure thing." agreed Pink.

Pink Diamond left to finding a hiding spot.

"At least Spinel can bring a smile to my face." mused Pink.

A year had passed.

"Oh. Hello Spinel." Pink dryly.

Pink stopped her work and turned to Spinel.

"Of course! You're my best friend!" declared Spinel.

"You come by every day too." noted Pink.

Pink Diamond noticed Spinel hadn't closed the door behind her.

"Spinel, you need to shut the door behind you or the heat gets out." stated Pink Diamond.

"You wanna play?" asked Spinel happily.

"Did she hear me?" asked Pink Diamond to herself.

"Come on!" exclaimed Spinel excited.

Spinel did a back flip and knocked over a bag of potting soil spilling some on the floor.

"Sorry." said Spinel.

Pink Diamond groaned.

"I should have seen that coming." replied Pink Diamond.

Spinel picked up the bag and Pink Diamond swept up the spilled soil.

"Now, what game should we play?" asked Spinel.

Pink Diamond rolled her eyes.

"How about...hide and seek." answered Pink.

"Great!" replied Spinel.

"You hide and I'll find you." said Pink.

"Can do." agreed Spinel.

Spinel left to finding a hiding spot.

"That will get her out of my hair for a bit." mused Pink.

It was a few months later. In Charm City, Pearl and "Rose Quartz" where enjoying their day. They had spent the entire day together and where loving ever moment of it. They had just hand a lovely lunch at a seafood restaurant and where headed to their next location. It seemed nothing could spoil this. However, that is when the two of them heard a familiar voice calling out.

"Oh god." groaned Pink.

Spinel caught up with the two.

"Oh Spinel, what are you doing here?" asked Pearl.

"I was just cruising around bored when I saw you." answered Spinel.

"Why didn't you join us?" asked Pearl.

"I wasn't told you'd be here." answered Spinel.

"I must have dialed the wrong number." said Pink.

"That's fine!" declared Spinel happily.

Pink rolled her eyes.

"We just finished eating. I had delicious crab cakes and she had stuffed clams." revealed Pearl.

"Why re you dressed like that?" asked Spinel confused.

"It's..." began Pearl.

"A new fashion I'm trying." answered Rose quickly.

"Okay!" declared Spinel.

"I'm lucky she's so accepting." thought Pink.

"So...what are we going to do?" asked Spinel.

"Well...we visited the arboretum earlier noted Pearl.

"What are you going to do now?" asked Spinel.

"Tell you what, why don't you buy yourself a ticket to the baseball game today and we'll join you." said Pink.

Pink handed money to Spinel.

"Can do!" declared Spinel.

Spinel turned and took off.

"But, you know I'm not into sports." said Pearl.

"It's for Spinel. She shouldn't be left out." replied Pink.

"You're so kind." cooed Pearl.

"Besides, we're going to "forget" to go." muttered Pink.

"What was that?" asked Pearl.

"I said we should go to the grave of Poe next." answered Pink.

"Sounds great." said Pearl excited.

Spinel was shaking. The hurt she had been dealing with for many years was finally being let out. Nobody could doubt the pain she felt was very real. Spinel took several deep breaths to calm herself down and keep herself from having a breakdown. Once finished, she returned to a state of anger. Her eyes staring daggers right at Pearl who replied with a look of sympathy.

"I'm so sorry." said Pearl.

"You should!" snapped Spinel.

"No offense, but it doesn't sound like Pearl did anything malicious." noted Amethyst.

Spinel shot her head looking right at Amethyst.

"She's right." said Bismuth.

"I don't need to hear from the peanut gallery." stated Spinel bitterly.

"Pink Diamond got annoyed with you and cast you aside." shrugged Lapis.

"I said I don't want your opinions!" snapped Spinel.

"She didn't see you as a friend, at least when she threw you away." continued Lapis.

Spinel aimed her gun at Lapis.

"I'm warning you!" cried Spinel.

"Maybe you should listen." said Peridot anxiously.

"I've been in a toxic relationship. I'm talking from first hand knowledge." said Lapis.

Spinel's grasp on the gun began to weaken.

"Spinel..." began Garnet.

Spinel turned and aimed at Garnet.

"You've been hurt and we all feel terrible for you. But, this won't solve anything." said Garnet.

"Shut up!" cried Spinel.

Spinel shook her head wildly.

"Spinel..." began Pearl.

Spinel pivoted and aimed at Pearl.

"What?" asked Spinel.

"I need to tell you something. You won't like it, but you need to hear it." answered Pearl.

Spinel thought it over.

"Go ahead." relented Spinel.

"It happened a week after our meeting in Charm City..." began Pearl.

It was an overcast and rainy day in Ocean City. Outside the city, the Diamond's mansion was being showered by the falling rain. Not wanting to go out, Pink Diamond and Pearl where hanging out in the bedroom of the former. Pink Diamond was lying on her stomach watching the TV while Pearl sat nearby. They where stuck watching re-runs of Under the Knife for hours.

"Is there anything else on?" asked Pink Diamond bored.

"No." answered Pearl flatly.

"This sucks!" groaned Pink Diamond.

"I wish there was something we could do." agreed Pearl.

"Not much to do when there's only three of us." shrugged Pink.

An idea hit Pearl.

"What about Spinel?" asked Pearl.

Pink rolled her eyes.

"What about her?" asked Pearl.

"Maybe she could come over." answered Pearl.

Pink nearly cringed at just the idea.

"Pearl...I don't think so." said Pink.

"Why not?" asked Pearl surprised.

Pink needed a lie quick.

"I don't think she could add anything." answered Pink.

"She's usually a bundle of energy." noted Pearl.

"Off the walls is more like it." muttered Pink.

"She could liven things up." suggested Pearl.

Pink needed a way out of this when an idea hit her.

"Okay." said Pink.

Pink sat up and grabbed her phone. She pretended to dial and waited a few second.

"Oh hello Spinel. It's me." said Pink.

Pink waited, pretending there was a response.

"I was wondering if you could come over." said Pink.

Again, Pink waited as she pretended there was a response. As she did, she thought up an excuse.

"Sorry to hear that. I hope we catch you later." said Pink.

Pink pretended to hang up.

"She's with her family and can't leave." shrugged Pink.

"That stink." said Pearl.

"Yeah. Sure does." muttered Pink sarcastic.

"You know, she hasn't been around recently." noted Pearl.

Pink tensed up a bit.

"Oh, she hasn't." said Pink.

"It seems like we're seeing less and less of her." continued Pearl.

"That's why it isn't as childish around here." thought Pink.

"It seems like she's avoiding us." stated Pearl concerned.

Pink let out a sigh.

"I..think you're right." said Pink.

"But, why would she be avoiding us?" asked Pearl confused.

"Maybe she decided it was time to grow up and move on." answered Pink.

"That doesn't seem like her." said Pearl unsure.

"Sometime you can't tell what a person is really like until they twist the knife in your back." replied Pink.

"That's dark." said Pearl upset.

"Sadly, that's how the world works." moaned Pink.

Pink noticed Pearl was still down.

"Let's fine something to take your mind off things." said Pink.

Pink took the remote and kept flipping around the channels.

"Here we go." said Pink.

Pink had found a cooking show where the contestants had to make pies.

"I do love the science behind pie making." admitted Pearl.

"Forget about Spinel. From now on, it's you and me." said Pink.

Pearl smiled.

"Okay." agreed Pearl.

Spinel was shaking. This revelation coupled with what else she had learned meant Spinel could no long play naive. She dropped the gun and fell to her knees. Carefully, the six hostages got up feeling safe that their ordeal was over. For Spinel, a horrifying nightmare had now come to pass. For no longer could Spinel deny the obvious: Pink Diamond had abandoned her.

"Is she going to be okay?" asked Amethyst.

"This is hard to deal with." answered Garnet.

"So I guess we're not calling the police." sighed Peridot flatly.

"Forgiving others is what we do." confirmed Garnet.

"Maybe we forgive too easily." stated Lapis bluntly.

"She might have a point." mused Amethyst.

Lapis suddenly remembered something.

"So, what was that about Jasper being released?" asked Lapis worried.

Meanwhile, Pearl and Bismuth kept an eye on Spinel.

"She's really taking this hard." noted Bismuth.

"You would be too." said Garnet.

"I can't believe Pink did that." said Pearl.

Pearl thought this over.

"Actually, it does seem to fit her." admitted Pearl.

Spinel began hyperventilating.

"Right now...we need to support her." said Pearl.

A/N: That's where we'll end things for now. So, Pink Diamond abandoned Spinel once Pearl came along and Spine is devastated. Next time, we finish up with Spinel. Please review.
