Chapter 82:

"Oh, Derek!" Meredith moans as Derek runs his tongue between her breasts. Licking up the chocolate fondue he had spread there. "More!" Her hands fist the sheets as she arches into him. Derek hums as he sits up to look at his naked wife below him. Meredith watches as Derek takes the chocolate and spreads it across her chest. On her nipples. He moves lower to take her nipple into his hungry mouth. "Derek! Derek! Oh! Oh!" She screams more. Her body floods with heat. Intense fire floods through her core as Derek moves his hands all over her body. "I need you, Der! She moans and lifts her hips up, trying to guide his mouth to her center from her chest. Derek just hums again and moves over her to smirk at her. He takes a strawberry dipped in chocolate and holds it up to her lips. His eyes are dark with love and lust as he watches her take a bite. Her eyes connected to his. Once she swallows, Derek lunges down and captures her mouth in a hot, searing kiss as he holds under her back and she arches up into him. He kisses her as Meredith holds his cheeks. A mix of chocolate and strawberry and Meredith invading his senses. One of Meredith's hands drifting to his curls. "Mm!" She moans and before she can warn Derek, she comes fast. Just as Derek places his hand on her clit to pump his fingers in and out, everything drifts away…

"Woah!" Meredith sits up in bed, panting hard. "Oh!" She moans when she realizes that it was just a dream. She closes her eyes and pouts as she looks around the dark room. The clock reads "2:32" in blaring, red numbers. She lays back down as she looks at Derek sleeping on his back. His hand resting on his stomach. He has a small smirk on his face as his eyelids flutter. Clearly dreaming. Meredith looks up at the ceiling as she feels her hormones intensify her desire for her husband. She had a dream about an orgasm and her body now wanted the real thing. Meredith slowly stretches and moves to sit up and take off her shirt. Then, she straddles Derek's waist, giving him a clear view of her breasts and bigger stomach. "Derek." She calls, shaking his shoulders. "Derek, wake up."

"Hmm…" He moans as his head moves side to side. His mouth opens and closes as he tries to get back to sleep.

"Derek!" Meredith coos again. This time grinding her hips against his. "Der." She murmurs as she lays on his chest, kissing up and down his neck. Then beginning to suck on the soft skin.

"Meredith." Derek hums finally as he wakes. He smiles widely at the sight of his wife laying on top of him. "Hey."

"Hey." She murmurs into his ears. Derek hugs her body to him. Her stomach not able to get too close as her belly grew in the last three weeks. "I was having a great dream. My hormones woke me up." Meredith explains as she grinds against his hips. Derek doesn't have to ask what she means. He knows exactly what she wants.

"I love these hormones." Derek coos as his head goes back.

"Me too. Take off your pants, Der." She guides his hands to his sweatpants. Derek watches as they pull his and then her pants lower. "Shirt." She coos next and she rips Derek's Bowdoin shirt over his head. "Here." She takes his hand and places it on her folds.

"Damn, you're soaked!" He gasps as Meredith, now sitting up, grips his shoulders and flings her head back. Derek pumps his fingers in and out making Meredith scream in pleasure.

"Ohhhh!" She moans as her orgasm rips through her.

"Mer!" Derek gasps as he sits up and wraps her in his arms. Her arms grip around his neck as she rests her head against his chest. She rides his fingers as he pumps in and out.

"Yes, Mer… That's it." Derek croons as he grips her curls in one hand while the other reaches deep into her clit. He can feel himself harden. He guides his erection to rub against her thigh.

"Oh…yeah." Meredith coos as she feels him. "So huge." She wraps one hand around his shaft with a dirty smile.

"Mer." He hums and kisses her. Meredith rests her forehead on his while wrapping her arms around him and burying her hands in his curls. She kisses him as her hips move over his cock. "Yes!" Derek screams while kissing her as she slides onto him.

"Derek! Derek!" She moans as she moves in figure eights. Meredith pulls back and strokes his cheek. Kissing his lips softly. She guides his head to her swollen breasts.

"Meredith." Derek hums as his hands hold her back so he could nuzzle in her breasts, trailing his tongue down the middle. As if he knew exactly where she had been dreaming of his mouth.

"You're amazing!" She coos as she holds him in place as she thrusts above him. His tongue working at the same time as her movements. "Yes! Yes! Yes!" She shouts. Derek growls as one hand moves lower to squeeze her bottom as she moves.

"Mer! So sexy. So gorgeous." He coos as he sucks on her breasts. Meredith continues to rock above him. Squeezing his dick with her tight walls. Her hands scrape through his curls before moving lower to rub along his chest. "Oh!" He hums as her hands scrape his chest, brushing over his nipples. "I'm so close!"

"Hmm, come, Der." She coos as she rides him harder.

"Yes!" Derek collapses against her as he spills into her.

"DEREK!" Meredith screams. "OH MY… OH!" She yells as her orgasm crashes. Her eyes close and she wraps Derek in a tight hug as she holds him close. Derek presses light kisses along her clavicle as they fall back onto their California King sized bed.

"That was intense." Derek laughs as he brushes her curls with his fingers.

"It was." Meredith cuddles into his neck.

"I love getting woken up like that." Derek laughs as they lay cuddled together. Meredith on top of Derek. Their legs twisted together.

"I was dreaming and my dream woke me up." Meredith giggles.

"Oh? What exactly were you dreaming about?" Derek smirks.

"Valentine's night. When you licked all of that fondue off of me." Meredith tugs at his chest hair. She bites her lip saucily.

"Oh! That was an incredible night." His voice deep and husky.

"It was! Right as I orgasmed, I woke up needing you." Meredith kisses his chest now.

"Oh yeah?" He tickles her and pulls up the blanket over them to create a cocoon. "I could tell you were very wet for me." He moans into her ear making her giggle.

"We get to see our babies again today, Derek." Meredith rests her chin on her hand as it rests on his chest so that she could look at him.

"We do. Thirteen weeks, five days today. You really made it through the first trimester."

"Yeah, we did." Meredith moves her hand to her stomach. It had gotten visibly bigger about five days before.

"I love your stomach. My boys are growing." Derek places his hand next to her's.

"The girls are getting bigger." Meredith agrees.

"I still can't get over the look Bailey had on his face when you came out of our room and your belly was bigger." Laughs Derek.

"That wasn't as funny as seeing those nurses faces." Meredith laughs. The morning that they had discovered the visible growth of her stomach, Bailey's jaw had dropped when she came out of her bedroom. He then had stared at her stomach the whole time that he ate breakfast. The nurses later had all seemed to gravitate towards them when Derek and Meredith had arrived. Following along behind them, throughout the hospital. All of the nurses had been whispering to each other and quite obviously pointing while they trailed behind them.

"Oh! Those were hysterical. I can't believe after all these years."

"Me neither, Derek." Meredith reaches up to mess with his curls.

"Our appointment is at 4, right?"

"Yeah, right after our special afternoon with Lexie after we work a little in the morning."

"Do you think we will be able to tell if they are girls or boys?" Meredith wonders. "I know sometimes you can this early."

"That would be nice." Derek says as he reaches to brush her hair back. "We need to celebrate with the kids when we find out."

"I'd like that."

"Where? Still no Italian?" Derek smirks and rocks her playfully.

"No!" Meredith shakes her head vigorously. "I'm sorry, ever since you made that lasagna I haven't been able to even think about pizza or pasta or…" She stops talking. "I just really love your lasagna."

"I know, Mer." Derek laughs. "Your aversion just shows that you should have went with your first craving of chicken and broccoli."

"Humph, that's what I get I guess." Meredith grumbles.

"Hmm." Derek kisses her nose. "Steakhouse?"

"Mm! Yeah!" Meredith says before yawning.

"Okay, hunks of carbs in a basket it is then. Sleep now, Mer." He says as she blinks sleepily on his chest.

"Kay." Meredith whispers as Derek adjusts so that they are laying on their side. Both of them drifting back to sleep cuddled in their warm cocoon.

MDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMD

"Well done, everyone." Derek congratulates the O.R team as he secures the last stitch over the patient's skin. "A special thanks to Dr. Grey for her work on the spine." He smirks as he says that last part only to Meredith.

"Derek!" Meredith giggles as they head to the scrub room.

"Dr. Shepherd." He corrects, nudging her arm.

"The surgery is over, it's Derek."

"But, I like when you call me Dr. Shepherd." He whines.

Rolling her eyes at her husband, she grabs a soap and starts scrubbing. "I know you do and right now we can't act on our surgery high. Because we have a baby in daycare waiting for us and two other babies who really, really want a bagel with extra cream cheese."

"That was an amazing surgery though." Derek muses as he drops his hand towel into the bin.

"Hmm, it was!" Meredith says just as she is turned and pressed up against the door. "Derek!" She giggles.

"Yes?" He coos as he rests his hands on her waist. One moving up to cup her chin. His eyes stare at her lips before glancing at her eyes. Meredith's breathing increases as she moves up to meet his lips. Her hands immediately going into the curls at the base of his neck.

"Hmm! Dr. Shepherd!" She moans as they kiss. It's slow and sensual as they soak in the feel of each other.

"Ah! There it is!" Derek smirks when he pulls back. "We will continue this later, Dr. Grey." His eyes are dark with lust despite his serious, authoritative tone.

"Yes, Dr. Shepherd." Meredith places her hand on his chest.

"Come on, Mer. Let's go get Lexie." He reaches for her hand before pushing open the door after a moment just being together. They head for the lounge first to change out of their scrubs. Walking next to each other, their hands brushing.

"I need those bagels, Derek." Meredith rubs her stomach.

"Okay… But, we are going to lunch… Will you be hungry?" He asks cautiously.

Meredith glares at him. "Yes. I am not actually hungry. Your daughters or sons are demanding that I have two bagels. Those Asiago ones…." She stops in the hallway to put both hands on her hips.

Derek looks at her with a shocked expression. She was hormonally hungry and being all cute with her rambling about it. He smirks at her once he gets over the initial shock. "I'm sorry, Mer. I… Let's go get the babies what they want." Derek resists the urge to laugh at her cuteness.

"Thank you." Meredith glares with a smirk, making Derek want to grab her and kiss her. She grabs his hand suddenly and pulls him into the lounge. He gets lost in a trance as Meredith rips off her shirt. Her stomach is visible to more people now and Derek loves it. "Change, Derek." She giggles and Derek reorients himself by shaking his head. He pulls out his navy button down and throws it on the couch before ripping off his scrubs.

"How were the babies in the surgery?" Derek asks as they walk out back into the hall.

"They were good. No nausea or anything. They seemed totally at peace. Not that I can feel them yet." Meredith takes Derek's hand as they approach the elevator.

"Good job!" Derek rubs her belly. The elevator is filled with people. They stand close together in the back until they reach the cafeteria. Derek buys her her bagels as Meredith watches with an eagerness that can only be had with cravings.

"Thanks, Derek." Meredith mumbles with her mouth full as she chews her bagel on the way to the daycare.

"My pleasure, Mer." He laughs as he watches her. She was incredibly adorable when she was having a craving and he really loved fulfilling her requests.

When they arrive at the daycare, Meredith rushes to chew the last few bites of her bagel. Really just stuffing them into her mouth as Derek stood right by the door. As soon as they walk inside, they are greeted by Bailey who happily shows him the block tower he was building. After listening to his complete story about his work and kissing him goodbye, Derek and Meredith walk back out with Lexie for a couple hours of special time together.

"Dada!" Lexie babbles as she hugs Derek close. She bobs up and down, clearly excited to be with her daddy.

"Yeah, Lex, it's just me, you and mama for a little bit." Derek rubs her back as they wait to get back on the elevator.

"Mama!" She smiles and reaches her hand to Meredith. Her smile identical to Derek's.

"Hi, angel. Should we get some lunch?" Meredith takes her hand and kisses her little fingers. "Oh, she is so beautiful." She hums as she moves to zip Lexie's butterfly jacket.

"She really is." Derek muses as they step onto the elevator. He watches as Meredith leans close to him to make silly faces at Lexie. The baby squeals as she covers her mouth to giggle at her mama until the elevator dings.

"Dow! Dow!" Lexie looks at Derek and points to the ground when the elevator doors slide open.

"Okay." Derek shrugs as he secures her jacket and lifts the hood.

"Derek, she's going to get trampled!" Meredith gasps as Lexie runs forward, the hood of her jacket half on her head. It looks like a butterfly running through the hospital waiting room.

"I've got my eye on her." He nods as Lexie runs over to the chairs. She pats one happily before lifting her chubby little leg up to climb up to stand on the chair with her back against the back of the chair.

"Hi!" Lexie waves to an elderly couple sitting in the seats next to the one she chose.

"Oh, what a dear." Says the lady as Derek and Meredith walk over.

"Lexie." Derek laughs as he smiles at the couple. "No running away." He lifts her as Lexie squirms and wriggles.

"Me run!" She coos.

"No." Derek laughs.

"Listen to daddy, Lex." Meredith comes up and takes her from Derek.

"Dow!" Lexie looks at Meredith with a stubborn glare.

"Say please." Meredith glares back.

"Peese!" Lexie smiles.

"Hold hands, we are going into the street." Meredith puts her down and holds her hand.

"Dada!" She holds out her other hand for Derek. He takes her hand and Lexie jumps in between them as they walk to the car.

"Where should we go?" Derek asks as he sits in the drivers seat.

"Panera? Lex loves the macaroni and cheese." Meredith suggests and Derek turns towards the Panera ten minutes from the hospital. "Lexie, wanna have a car dance party?" She turns to look at Lexie who was playing with a baby doll in her car seat. Feeding the baby a bottle through its eye.

"Ya!" Lexie looks up and drops her toys. "Ehmo!"

"A dance party to Elmo?" Meredith looks at Derek. "I'm not sure Elmo is dance it outable." Her face scrunches in thought.

"Me wat Ehmo!" Lexie claps.

"How about Minnie?" Derek suggests.

"Ehmo!"

"I tried, Mer. Guess you're dancing to Elmo's World." Derek shrugs.

"Don't you dare!" Meredith gasps, slapping his arm. "Lexie, how about Ariel?"

"We're almost to Panera." Derek warns.

"No! Ehmo!" Lexie screams.

"Just put it on, Der. I'll sing along with her." Meredith laughs.

"She puts Bailey to the test with stubbornness." Derek murmurs as he slips in the Elmo disk. Meredith nods in agreement.

"Ah! Ah! Ya, ya, ya-ya!" Lexie sings along as the song begins. "Ehmo!" She cheers along with the singing.

"It's more fun to watch her." Meredith looks at Lexie kicking in her seat.

"Bi bid! Suf!" Lexie sings when it gets to Big Bird and Snuffy.

"Oh, she's dancing, Derek!" Meredith laughs as Lexie half scrunches her body in tune to the music and sways.

"Da Ehmo sah!" Lexie raises her hands as she sings the last line.

"Yes, Lex. That's Elmo's song!" Derek laughs as she sings louder than the music volume. He pulls into a spot as they reach the restaurant.

"Yay!" Lexie claps as Derek turns off the car and gets out. Meredith joins them on the other side and grabs Lexie's free hand. They go inside and order some macaroni and cheese for Lexie while Meredith and Derek each get a sandwich and soup. They sit with their food at a table with Lexie in a high chair between them.

"What should we do next, Lex?" Meredith brushes her curls as Lexie tries to scoop some food into her mouth. It plops out of her bowl and the baby uses her fingers to put it back onto the spoon.

"Park?" Derek suggests.

"Bookstore? The one on 10th where there's a indoor climbing area for babies?" Counters Meredith.

"I like that. We can read with her there."

"Mm hmm." Meredith nods as she takes a bite of her chicken salad sandwich.

"Okay, Lex. Wanna go read some books and climb?" Derek pokes her arm making her look up at him with bright green eyes. She smiles as her fingers play with the food in her mouth. When they finish, Meredith carries Lexie back to the car. It's a short drive before they reach the large bookstore.

The children's section is a huge area in the back that is practically a store on its own. It's bright with light blue walls. There are paintings of trees and scenes from popular fairy tales on two walls. Popular characters are painted on the other walls. On one side is a huge reading area with bean bags, rocking chairs and little couches for families to read with their children. They walk to the reading area, past the climbing area in the front of the store. "We'll go there next." Derek coos as Lexie points to it from Meredith's arms.

"Pick out a book, Lexie." She places Lexie on the ground in front of a shelf of toddler books.

"Ah…eh! Tapa ba!" Lexie walks along and pulls out a book. "Ah! Mama!" She had noticed the familiar cover facing outwards.

"Brown Bear, Brown Bear?" Meredith looks at her holding up the book. "We have that book at home."

"Me wa!" She holds up the book to Derek.

"Okay, Lex. Pick another one and we can read both." Meredith says.

"Me lub!" Lexie hugs the Brown Bear book tight.

"Yeah, it's your favorite, Lex." Meredith kneels next to her and hugs her close. Lexie looks at the book in her hand.

"It's her bedtime book." Derek laughs.

"Me wa!" Lexie rips out another book. This time a touch and feel animal book.

"Good choice!" Meredith coos. "Let's go read!" She and Derek walk forward towards the seating area. Lexie runs after them, both books in her arms. They sit on one of the squishy, green couches. Derek and Meredith sitting with their sides and thighs pressed up against each other.

"Come here, Lex." Derek holds out his arms as the baby stands against their legs with her little belly poking forward. Her arms patting their legs after they take the books. He lifts her so that she is sitting on both of their laps. Lexie snuggles between them. Meredith rubs her belly and the baby looks up at her with a giggle. Derek leans lower to kiss her cheek and Meredith feels a rush of emotions as Derek and Lexie's matching curls and smile merge together as Lexie turns to clap her hands on Derek's cheeks. He laughs as he kisses her cheeks, blowing a raspberry.

"Beah!" Lexie pats the Brown Bear book.

"Okay." Meredith says and kisses her head. She opens the book as Lexie claps. "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see?" Meredith starts, her finger gliding under the words as she reads. "I see a red bird looking at me."

Derek continues as they turn the page. "Red bird, red bird, what do you see?" His voice is velvety smooth like Meredith's. Lexie relaxes back into her parents arms, gripping their hands lightly. Both Meredith and Derek take their time, cherishing the time with their youngest.

"Fwa! Beah!" Lexie points when they get to the last page with all of the animals.

"Yeah, frog and bear. Good job!" Meredith coos as Lexie points and looks up at Meredith.

"Meow!" Lexie points to the cat.

"Yes! That's what a cat says!" Meredith says.

"You're such a smart baby." Derek says as he kisses Lexie's hand.

"Mo!" Lexie pats the other book. Meredith takes it and places it front of them.

"Look Lex, soft baby duck. Chick." Derek pets the softness on the first page of the touch and feel book. Lexie copies him before Derek turns the page.

"Meow!" Lexie points to the cat on the next page.

"Yeah, feel it's scratchy tongue." Meredith rubs the rough, pink tongue. Lexie copies and shrieks as she scrapes her fingers against it. Derek and Meredith look at each other and laugh as Lexie pats the book and tries to turn the page. They check out the feel of a snake, dog, tiger and a lamb before the book finishes. Lexie giggling as they explore each one. "Let's go play, Lex." Meredith suggests and stands.

"Yeah, come on angel." Derek coos as Lexie stands in between them. Lexie looks out of the children's area and runs forward. "Come on, Mer." He holds out his hand for her.

"Dada! Go!" Lexie turns and points as they get closer.

"Okay, Lex." He laughs as Meredith snuggles into him. Derek feels a tug on his pants as he turns to look at Meredith and kiss her hair.

"Dada! Mama!" Lexie points at the door.

"Guess she wants to play?" He laughs as they open the door to the play area.

"Ah!" Lexie screams with joy as she runs to the life size "Very Hungry Caterpillar" climbing equipment. She stands at the back ball of the green caterpillar and tries to climb.

"Here, Lex." Derek helps her up each ball. Lexie stopping to pat each one before her leg moves up to climb further.

"Ya!" Lexie cheers as Derek helps her down at the opposite end.

"Yay, Lex." Meredith and Derek clap and cheer for her as she runs to the little tunnel.

"Dada, pay!" She orders as she looks at Derek and then into the kiddie tunnel.

"Okay, Lex." Derek laughs as he bends down to all fours. Lexie points into the tunnel. Meredith giggles as she watches her husband and world class neurosurgeon begin crawling around on the floor with their daughter. In, out and around they crawl. Over and over again all over the play area. "Boo!" He plays as he hides behind a large apple shaped piece of climbing equipment. Lexie shrieks as she sees Derek surprise her.

"Ah! Mama!" She cries as she wobbles onto her feet and toddles over to where Meredith had been watching.

"Oh no, is daddy scaring you?" Meredith laughs as Lexie hides between her legs. Poking her head out from between them.

"I'm just playing, Lex." Derek laughs as he stands and comes over to them. He kisses Meredith's cheek and holds out his arms for Lexie. She runs out from Meredith's legs and into Derek's arms. He scoops her up, both laughing as Derek holds her above his head. "Give me a kiss, Lex." Derek pulls her close into a hug and her little hands pat his chin as she gives him a wet, opened mouth kiss. Meredith laughs as she rests her hands on her stomach, over their other babies. Derek hears her and looks at her with a smirk. He walks with the baby closer to Meredith and wraps both into their arms. Meredith hugs them both back, watching. "Give mama kiss." He instructs.

"Ya!" Lexie babbles as she leans to Meredith and clutches her hair to steady herself. She leans forward in Derek's arms to kiss Meredith's cheek. Derek watches happily as Meredith giggles and kisses Lexie back. Meredith gives one last Eskimo kiss before they go back to playing. They play on the slide for a while before it was time to get Zola and head to their appointment. Derek and Meredith taking turns going up and down the short, plastic slide with her. When they leave, Lexie insists on singing more Elmo the whole way to Zola's school. Both parents just enjoying the last few minutes of special Lexie time.

"Hey!" Addison greets as she enters the exam room. You ready to see your babies?" She asks when Derek and Meredith are sitting and waiting for the appointment to begin later that afternoon. They had dropped off Lexie and Zola with Bailey at daycare before heading to their thirteen week appointment.

"Yes!" They say in unison.

"Great! Now, before I begin. I wanted to ask, should we do an NIPT test? It's less risky than an amniocentesis." Addison asks.

Meredith looks at Derek in question. He looks at her with a pleading look. Communicating silently. "Yeah, sure." She shrugs.

"Okay guys, let me get the materials for the NIPT test. Now, when I do the ultrasound should I do the nub test? This high resolution machine should make it even more accurate to find out the sex." Addison explains as she looks at the state of the art equipment.

"Yes!" Derek nods as he sits next to Meredith on the exam table. His arm pulling her close. He kisses her head and nuzzles her cheek with a smile. Addison laughs at the eagerness of the two of them. Stepping out to get some various needles and tubes.

"Ready?" Smirks Addison as she comes back with the blood testing supplies. Meredith sighs and nods as she grips Derek's hand. "Okay, some of these will be done tomorrow, the rest will be 8-10 days." She carefully takes blood from Meredith as Derek rubs her back to keep her calm. "There. All done. Now time for the fun part!" She smiles gently. Addison takes out the probe as Derek moves Meredith's shirt up, under her breasts. Meredith and Derek clutch the others hands and smile widely at each other. Their eyes sparkling. "Okay then." Addison places the probe on her Meredith's stomach. They watch the screen as the babies heartbeats fill the room. "Heads look good, no neural deficits."

"Look at those spines." Derek hums as Addison examines the spine. Going through the neural tests.

"Alright… So far you two have two healthy…" She pauses, creating an effect for drama as she examines the genital area. "Boys!" Derek gasps as he hears this. Everything disappears around him as he only sees Meredith. Tears filling his eyes. Tears of pure joy as he looks at Meredith who is staring, open mouthed with tears flowing as she stares at Derek.

"Meredith!" Derek gasps as he pulls her close. Taking her cheeks and kissing her passionately. Meredith moans as she wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him down to her. Making Derek hover over her on the exam table.

"Derek!" She laughs with happiness as she strokes his stubble. "Twin boys! This is… Oh, this is incredible!

"I'm so happy, Mer! We're going to have three boys!"

"It's perfect!" Meredith grabs his cheeks and kisses all over his cheeks and then his lips. She ends the round of kisses by kissing him deeply as she would in their bedroom.

"Completely perfect!" Derek coos and strokes her cheeks. "I love you so much!" So much! I love our family." He says as he stares into her green eyes. His heart overflowing with love for his wife.

"Me too, Derek. I love you and all five of our kids." Meredith murmurs with joy as she stares into Derek's bright, shiny blue eyes.

Derek wraps his arm around her and presses his forehead against hers. His other hand pressing against her stomach. "I love you, boys." He coos, his voice getting choked as he looks at her stomach.

"Mama does too." Meredith runs her hand along her still exposed skin.

"It's definitely boys?" Derek asks again, just to be sure.

"Yes, Derek. This test is 100% accurate after 13 weeks." Addison states.

"Oh, Mer!" He laughs and hugs her again as they stare at the screen.

"Congratulations, guys!" Addison says as Meredith and Derek stare between the sonogram and each other. "Do you have names?"

"Wanna tell her?" Derek asks. Meredith bites her tongue and looks at Derek.

"Sure. You tell her."

"Okay, Addison." Derek smiles and takes Meredith's hands. They lay them together on Meredith's stomach. One will be named Mason George Grey-Shepherd and the other… Mark Christopher." Derek beams and Addison gasps and covers her mouth. Now, her eyes brim with tears.

"After Mark and George?"

"After my dad as well." Derek says as he pulls Meredith to him. His hands gravitating right back to her stomach.

"Derek, that's perfect. Mark would be ecstatic." Addison laughs.

"It was Meredith's idea." He smirks as he kisses her head. "I love you." He whispers to Meredith.

"I love you, too." She coos and bends to nuzzle in his neck.

"I'm so happy for you guys." Addison says as she watches them.

"Thanks, Addie." Derek nods.

"I'm going to go, I will see you at eleven for your appointment tomorrow. Congratulations, again, guys!" Addison waves as she stands to clean up the room. When she's done, she exits the exam room.

Meredith covers her stomach as she sits up and turns to Derek. Her legs dangling over the side."Boys!" She giggles and Derek scoops her into a big hug with a permanent smile on his face. He squeezes her and buries his nose in her hair. Tears of joy continue to stream down his cheeks.

"Boys, Mer!" He chokes. A huge, goofy grin still spread across his features. "Thank you! Thank you!"

"Der!" She coos as she hugs him close. They laugh together with happiness.

"Mer, I am so happy! I can't tell you!"

"Me too, Der. Me too!" Meredith beams as she pulls back to look at his sparkly, joy-filled eyes.

"I'm so glad!" Derek cups her cheeks as he stares into her equally sparkly eyes. He kisses her deeply and they moan together. Derek's fingers tangle in her curls as her hands rest on his neck. "I love you, Mer."

"I love you, too!" Meredith replies. "Let's go get the kids."

"Yeah. Then we have to tell mom." He puts the babies sonogram in his pocket. Running his fingers over the picture first.

"Yes, is she going to be pissed that we waited this long?" Meredith wonders as they stand.

"No, Mer. She understands. Lizzie waited until she was fifteen weeks to tell anyone."

"Okay. I can't wait that much longer." Meredith takes Derek's outstretched hand.

"I know. I don't know how Lizzie did it."

"Are Carter and Landon MoMo twins?"

"No…they're identical, but not Monoamniotic."

"Okay." Meredith nods. "How should we tell the kids?"

Derek thinks for a moment. When he finally gets an idea, he stops and smiles at Meredith. "I know!" He tugs her hand and pulls her down the hall. Derek just gives her a look that tells her to wait for his idea. When they get to the elevator, Derek kneels down and rubs her stomach. "Hi, boys, it's daddy." He feels his breath catch in his throat as he looks up at Meredith who has placed her hands next to his. "Mama and I are so excited to meet you. Please, please stay strong." Derek swallows hard for the next part. "Mark. You're named after two of the strongest guys I knew and Mason… Your middle name is from a guy who was extremely brave and also strong. Plus, if you have your mama's stubbornness and strength, like your brother and sisters, I know you will make it. So…" He pauses to think, but is interrupted by Meredith.

"Just hang in there." Meredith says as she rubs her stomach. Derek smiles and nods before kissing her belly twice. Making Meredith giggle and she runs her fingers in his hair. "I love you, boys." She says as Derek stands and the elevator opens. "I hope they have your hair."

"Hmm, no, your hair like Bails." Derek counters.

"No, yours because I wanna see the messy, mop like style like you had." Meredith laughs.

"What?! I never had that." Derek nudges her.

"Yes you did. There's pictures all over your mom's and Kathleen showed me a couple of albums."

"Okay, for that, we are telling her last." Derek grumbles.

"Derek!" She swats his stomach. They approach the daycare. "How are we telling the kids? When?"

"Just wait, Mer."

"Please, Der!" She begs, giving him the small smile and pleading green eyes that makes him forget the world.

Derek looks at her, giving into that hard to resist look. "I'm going to stop and get a treat for them. I'm going to get cupcakes and have the baker put blue sprinkles on them. I'm going to hide them in the box, have them close their eyes when we get home and then open them when I put the cupcakes in front of them." He laughs.

"That will be sweet." Meredith coos as she opens the door to the daycare.

"Mama! Daddy!" Zola calls as she runs towards them.

"Hi, Zo!" Meredith coos as she hugs Zola while kneeling down.

"You all done?" Bailey asks Derek as he sits in Derek's arms.

"Yes, bud. Come here, Lex." Derek lowers himself to lift Lexie into his arms. Now holding both Bailey and Lexie.

"We found out some great news." Meredith says as she walks with Zola out of the daycare.

"Yeah?!" Zola looks up in question.

"Hmm, you have to wait until we get home." Derek smirks as he carries Bailey and Lexie through the hospital.

"Aww!" Bailey and Zola whine. The family walks through the crowded hospital. Out the doors into the cool evening. The sounds of sirens moving closer as they walk though the parking lot. Derek buckles Bailey and Lexie while Meredith watches as Zola carefully buckles herself. They drive towards their dream house with Disney music blaring and Derek holding Meredith's hand. At each stoplight, Derek smiles at Meredith, shaking his head in amazement. The news of their boys running through his head as he places both of their hands on her stomach.

"Stay here." Derek instructs as he pulls up to their favorite bakery right before the ferry docks.

"Why?" Zola asks.

"It's part of the surprise, love bug." Meredith explains as Derek goes inside. She busies the kids while they wait. Asking Zola more about her day and listening to Bailey explain every detail of his circle time at daycare.

"Back." Derek smirks as he hands a pink box to Meredith. "Let's go home!" With that, he pulls out and continues their drive. The kids immediately hound him with questions about the box. Begging to see what's inside. He simply quiets them in a way that only he could. The rest of the time, he spends it with small talk about their dinner plans with Meredith. When they pull up to their home, Derek turns to look at the kids. Zola looks between her parents while Bailey holds his monkey with his legs curled up, waiting for something to happen. Lexie kicks and plays with the lift the flap book in her hands. "Okay, guys. Mama and I have some news for you. I want you to go sit on the couch as soon as we get inside." Derek says as he looks between the kids and Meredith. His eyes get lost in Meredith's and they feel their lips gravitate to the others. "Ready?" He says as they pull away from the kiss.

"Yeah." Meredith nods as she gets out. After Zola hops out and runs after Bailey, Meredith hands the box to Derek so she can get Lexie.

"Mama! Ba ya bebea geda!" Lexie babbles as she puts her book on her head.

"I see, Lex. Did you see Lexie in that book?" Meredith kisses the baby.

"Ah ya ya!" Lexie babbles as Meredith walks into the living room. Meredith sits the baby in between her brother and sister as Derek gets the surprise ready.

"Here, Lex. Play with this." She gives Lexie a stacking toy and a new book to keep her occupied and on the couch.

Meredith sits on the edge of the couch as Derek carries the box over. "I told the baker what these were for and he went and got three fresh cupcakes and injected them with the right color icing." Derek whispers to Meredith as he sits besides her.

"That's amazing." Meredith whispers back. The kids begin to get antsy as they watch their parents talk to each other. Bailey clamoring onto his knees, in hopes of getting the attention of either Derek or Meredith. "Okay, guys. You ready?" Meredith giggles as they watch Lexie throw one of the stacking rings making her giggle at her new trick. The older kids nod as if they had been waiting a hundred years for the news. "So, today daddy and I found out today whether you will have two sisters or two brothers."

"What?!" Zola gasps.

"We did." Meredith smiles at her oldest.

"What are they?!" Bailey raises his hands and looks eagerly at both parents. His body rocking back and forth.

"We have a special treat to help us tell you." Derek explains and shows them the box. The kids faces light as their gazes reach the pink box. "You guys have to close your eyes and hold out your hands. Don't open until I say so." The kids nod swiftly as if any mistake will cost them their surprise. Their little eyes close as their hands outstretch in front of them. "Ready?"

"Uh huh!" Bailey whines as he feels something being placed in his hands.

Meredith giggles as she shares a look with Derek. "Okay, on the count of three… One… Two… Three! Open, Zo. Open, Bails." Meredith coos.

Zola and Bailey open their eyes and gasp in shock. "Cupcake." Zola comments simply. She looks at the vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting and pink and blue sprinkles all over.

"Open it, take a bite and there is a color inside. If it's pink, then they are girls. If it's blue, then they are boys." Derek explains as Meredith takes his hands in hers.

"Oh!" Bailey looks down at his cupcake. Gently peeling back the wrapper. He turns to Zola who has done the same with the sparkly green paper on hers. The kids take a bite and look inside. "Huh?"

The kids had taken too small of a bite. "Rip it, guys." Derek suggests. "Break it in half." Nodding, the kids do as they are told. Lexie now watching curiously. She squats next to Bailey as he breaks his cupcake in half.

"Blue!" Bailey screams.

"They're boys!" Zola giggles as she jumps off of the couch.

"Yes! Zo, do you know what that means?!" Meredith says. As she hugs her daughter.

"Brothers!" She laughs. Her cupcake still in her hands, but forgotten. Bailey stares at one half of the cupcake in one hand while stuffing the other half into his mouth. He has a huge smile on his face.

"It's really boys?! Mama? Daddy?" He asks after the last half is swallowed.

"Yes, bud! Two brothers." Derek replies with a smile.

"Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay!" Bailey jumps up and cheers as he runs in circles around the table. "Brudders!" He cheers as Meredith and Derek watch with smiles. Their arms wrapped around each other.

"This is so cool!" Zola bounces up and down. "Lexie, mama has baby brothers in her belly!" She places her arms on either side of Lexie who was watching them with interest and hovers over her sister.

"Baby?" Lexie asks when she looks at Zola pointing at Meredith's belly.

"Hmm, maybe she will understand now." Derek murmurs.

"Maybe." Meredith giggles. "Lex, come here angel." She pats the couch next to her. Lexie toddles down the couch on her hands and knees. Meredith picks her up and sits her on her still visible lap. "Lexie, there are babies in here." She says softly and calmly. A soothing, motherly tone in her words.

"Mama baby?"

"Yes, Lex. They are all of our babies." Meredith touches her stomach.

"Baby out!" Lexie looks at Meredith's belly.

"Not for a while, angel." Derek laughs. Lexie stares at Meredith's stomach, placing a finger on it. "Well, your bigger belly helped." He laughs as Lexie now pats her skin.

"Hi, brudders." Bailey leans up against Meredith's legs and puts his face up against her shirt over her stomach. "I'm Bailey. I'm your big brudder!"

"I'm Zola and Lexie is he one poking ya!" Zola kneels in between Meredith's legs.

"You guys are amazing." Meredith says in awe as she places her hands on their heads as they talk a bit more.

The kids continue to chat to the babies while Lexie continues to explore the really odd fact that her mama's belly was bigger. A while later, Derek interrupts their playtime. "Should we call nana, guys? Tell her the good news. We have to tell her that she's gonna be a nana again." He smirks.

"Yeah!" The two older kids jump for joy at the prospect of speaking to their nana.

"Okay, go get yours and Lexie's big brother and big sisters shirts while we set up the computer." Meredith instructs as she watches Lexie lift her shirt up and down to get a view of Meredith's stomach.

"You know that mom is gonna want to help, right?" Derek mentions.

"Yes. She is more than welcome to come right before the babies are born." Meredith giggles.

"Okay, just checking." Derek kisses her head.

"Twins, Derek, a five and six year old and a sixteen month old." Meredith looks at him as the kids come back.

"True."

"Ready! Ready!" Bailey hands Meredith his and Lexie's shirt. Meredith giggles as she takes off Bailey's Paw Patrol shirt and replaces it with his shirt from Zola's birthday. She helps Lexie wriggle out of her ducky shirt and into her new sister shirt.

"Okay, guys. I'm going to set up the computer to show only our faces first."

"Then, let daddy tell her and he will move the computer back." Meredith finishes. "You tell her, Derek. This is incredibly special for mom. Right down to the names."

"Mer!" Derek beams with tears in his eyes. He bends to kiss her lips and then turns to the computer. Derek dials the number he knows so well, his nerves racing with excitement. "Show her your shirts, guys, after I push the computer back."

"Derek! Meredith!" Comes Carolyn's happy voice.

"Hey, ma!" Derek waves.

"How are you? I haven't heard from you since Zola's birthday!"

"Oh… Sorry, ma… We've been a little busy…" Derek smirks at Meredith.

"Yeah? What's more important than calling your mother?" Carolyn snipes in good humor.

Derek and Meredith smirk as the kids can be heard giggling. "This, ma." Derek says finally as he grabs Lexie who had been sitting on his opposite side and Bailey worms his way in front of Meredith. The computer screen gets pushed back so that she can see Meredith clearer and Zola. "This."

Carolyn gasps with her hands going to her mouth as she sees Meredith's small, but noticeable stomach. "Read our shirts, nana!" Bailey shouts.

"Oh my word!" Carolyn exclaims as they see her jump out of her seat. She pulls a tissue out of her pocket and dabs her eyes. "Meredith, dear… You're… You're pregnant?!"

"I am, mom." Meredith beams as Derek pulls her to him to kiss her head.

"Congratulations! How far along, dear?" Carolyn asks as she sits and leans closer to the screen. A huge smile mirroring Derek's.

"Almost 14 weeks." Meredith answers, looking nervously at Derek.

Before Carolyn could respond, Derek senses his wife's fear and explains. "There's a reason we waited this long."

"What do you mean, Derek? Fourteen weeks is perfectly normal to tell people. Is everything okay? Is the baby okay?"

Derek smirks at Meredith again. "The babies are great so far."

Carolyn clutches her heart and her jaw drops. "Babies?!" She gasps as Derek rubs Meredith's stomach.

"Yes, ma. Twins."

"Twins?!"

"Twins and to be exact, they are monochorionic-monoamniotic." Derek says.

"What does that mean again?"

"Well, this is the reason we haven't said anything yet. This means that they are at extremely high risk because they are sharing both the amniotic sac and the placenta. They and Meredith are at a risk for many things." Derek says shakily.

"Oh dear!" Carolyn gasps as her hands cover her mouth. "Well, don't you worry, you have a whole hospital there who will help. I do hope you have a wonderful OB?"

"Addison." Derek and Meredith say at the same time. Carolyn needs to process this for a moment before she nods slowly.

"As in your ex-wife?" Her eyes are wide.

"Yes, ma. She is the best in her field and despite our past differences, I trust her medically." Derek says firmly.

"I do too, mom." Meredith says as she places her hands on Derek's over her stomach.

"I know, dears. I am proud of you both. I was just surprised after your history."

"Thanks. We're friends now, mom. Plus, it's not just Addison. We have our friends Arizona and Alex helping as well." Meredith says for both of them.

"Can I come to help?" Carolyn asks.

"Definitely, mom. We may need you for a while once the babies are born." Laughs Derek and Meredith nods.

"Just say when dears!" Carolyn says with enthusiasm. "Are you finding out if they are boys, girls or one of each?"

"Actually… We found out today using the nub test." Derek grins. Carolyn gasps in surprise. "Do you wanna know? You have to keep it a surprise from the sisters."

"Yes!" Carolyn cries.

"Okay, ma… In a few months, you will have identical… Because these twins always are… Identical grandsons!" Derek exclaims as they watch Carolyn scream for joy. Her eyes well with tears as they widen. She cups her hands as she watches her son take his wife into his arms and kiss her.

"Brudders, nana!" Bailey exclaims.

"That's right, you're gonna be a big brother again! Are you and Zola happy?"

"Yes, nana! I so excited!" Bailey jumps for joy.

"Ya!" Zola adds.

"Oh, dears. That is wonderful news! I am so happy for all of you!"

"Thanks, mom. We are as well." Meredith adds.

"What does Lexie think?"

"Hmm, she seemed better tonight. But usually she just says that she's our baby." Derek laughs.

"She will get there, Derek." Carolyn giggles. "Took Lizzie until you were home to acknowledge you."

"In other words, she never changed."

"Hush, Derek."

"Sorry, Ma." Derek shrugs. "One more thing, only Amy knows because of the high risk and she's our boss."

"I won't tell a soul." Carolyn smiles.

"Thanks, mom. We will keep you updated."

"Send me an ultrasound photo, Derek." She gives him a motherly look.

"We will, mom." He nods. "We have to head to dinner to celebrate now." Derek tries to segway.

"Okay. Meredith, dear, you are amazing. Thank you and congratulations again!" Carolyn giggles with joy. "Twin boys! My word!" She claps. "I am so excited."

"Thanks mom. I'm excited as well." Meredith says as she rubs her stomach.

"That's great! Now go celebrate with your family." Carolyn replies. "We will talk soon."

"Bye!" Derek, Meredith and the kids wave before Carolyn hangs up first.

"That was excellent, Derek. I think it made her year." Giggles Meredith.

"Of course it did. I'm her boy and we're giving her two more grand babies." Derek laughs as he stands with Lexie in his arms. He holds out his hand for Meredith to help her stand.

"Derek!" She rolls her eyes at him with laughter in her voice.

"Come on guys, let's go eat!" Derek moves to look at Bailey and Zola. "Put on your shoes!" The kids scamper forward as Meredith grabs her purse. They get the kids into their seats once shoes and jackets are on all kids. Derek opens the door for Meredith and watches as she buckles with a lustful smile.

"Get in, Der." She giggles as she watches him.

"Okay, let's go celebrate our boys." Derek laughs as he walks to the driver side. He pulls out before his hand immediately takes Meredith's.

"What are we doing at this place, daddy?" Bailey asks as Derek pulls up to the Seattle Steakhouse a half an hour later.

"Celebrating your brothers, buddy." Derek pushes the gear into park. He turns and smiles at Bailey.

"But, we usually go to the pizza place to celebrate."

"Derek." Meredith whimpers as she hears the word "pizza." She closes her eyes and grips his hand. Her stomach is boiling, threatening to create a wave of nausea.

"Shh, Mer… It's okay." He coos and pulls her in for a hug. Derek kisses her cheek and rubs her stomach. He unbuckles his seat belt and lowers his head to her stomach. "Boys." Derek pauses to feel the pride rush through him. "Please don't make mama sick." He rubs her belly.

"Oh!" Meredith moans in relief as any nausea washes away.

"Feel better?" Derek coos as he sits back up and brushes her cheeks.

"Yeah. Thanks." Meredith leans in to kiss him.

"What's wrong, daddy?" Bailey asks as he had been listening, waiting for a response to his comment.

"Bud, we are going to stay away from any pasta or pizza for while." Derek looks carefully at Meredith. Pecking her lips carefully.

"Why?" Zola asks now.

"Because your brothers don't really like it right now and it makes mama feel sick."

"That's silly. Tell them it's good!" Bailey laughs.

"They will, buddy. It's just right now." Meredith coos.

"Exactly. Now, let's go celebrate our boys." Derek can't stop smiling as he says this. Meredith giggles as he gets out of the car and hurries over to the other side to let her out. "Gorgeous." He coos as she stands in front of him and he kisses her softly. The smiles remain on their faces as they get the kids out and walk inside of the restaurant. The waiter sits them down at a table near the entrance. Where they can see people coming and going.

"This looks good, Der." Meredith says as she looks at the menu.

"Yeah! I see macaroni and cheese!" Bailey points.

"Hmm, Lexie will like the chicken." Derek looks at Lexie's menu that had chicken shaped like farm animals.

"I'm getting the chicken, Derek. Chicken, broccoli and potatoes. These boys are health nuts." Meredith giggles as she rubs her little belly.

"Good." Derek smirks and nudges her. He picks up his menu as they laugh. Browsing their options.

"Meredith?" A voice comes from a few feet away.

Derek looks up at the sound of a familiar male voice, his face darkening when he sees the owner. His stomach twisting and pulse racing. Meredith looks up and gasps. "Finn!" She half smiles.

"Hi." He says awkwardly as he notices Derek and the kids. "Hey, Derek." He nods with a nervous glance.

"Finn." Derek smirks as Meredith kicks him under the table. She can see the pride and accomplished look in her husband's eyes.

"What… What are you doing here?" Meredith asks.

"Oh… I'm waiting for my fiancée. She's meeting me here." Finn says.

"Oh, that's great." Meredith says sweetly as she grabs Derek's hands that were tensed in his lap.

"Hey, there she is!" He points to a tall woman at the door who was looking around. She had dark, black hair down to her shoulders. Her brown eyes still resembling that of a doe. She wore a black pantsuit that made her red lipstick stick out. "Rose! Over here honey!" Finn calls and Rose walks over. Wrapping her arms around Finn.

"Rose?" Derek and Meredith say at the same time. Derek's tone one of shock. Meredith's one of disgust.

"Derek?!" She says before an awkward silence fills the air as her and Finn both now notice Meredith's pregnant stomach.

"You know each other?" Finn asks.

"You could say that." Meredith replies a shortly. She glares at Rose, her hand squeezing Derek's. The nails of her other hand gripping his thigh.

"Hi, Meredith." Rose says weakly. This time it's Derek who nudges Meredith's foot.

"Hi." Meredith mutters.

"I'm still confused. How do you all know each other?" Finn asks.

"I used to work at the same hospital as them."

"Oh!" Finn slaps his head. "I'm sorry sweetie, I forgot that you worked at Seattle Grace."

"Wait… You don't?" Derek asks.

"No… I… Um left after the shooting." Replies Rose. "I wasn't at work that day and after I heard what happened, I resigned."

"Oh." Derek says and looks at Meredith.

"I'm sensing that there is more." Finn looks between Rose and Meredith and Derek.

"It's nothing." Rose insists.

"Really?"

"I'll explain later." Rose whispers to Finn. "How do you know them?"

"He used to date Meredith." Derek replies shortly this time, making Meredith kick him. He glares at Finn with daggers as he tries to not let the images of Meredith in Finn's shirt fill his mind.

"What?!" Rose gasps. She stares between the two as Meredith stares at the kids. Wishing more than anything to be them, happily coloring instead of what she was enduring.

"It was when Derek was still with Addison." Meredith mutters to Rose.

Rose nods. "I guess that makes it a little easier to say that I dated Derek."

"What?!" Finn shouts making heads turn. "When?!"

"A long time ago." Rose says as she looks at Meredith and Derek, smiling. Leaving out any details.

"Daddy, I gotta go potty." Bailey interrupts, poking Derek's arm.

"Oh… Uh… Can you wait bud?" Derek whispers, making Meredith smack his arm.

"No." Bailey shakes his head and rocks on his knees.

"Okay, come on buddy." Derek helps Bailey out of his chair and stomps off to the bathroom. There's an awkward silence where Finn and Rose watch Meredith as she busies herself with fixing Lexie's clean dress nervously. Finn stands with his hands on his hips, his brow furrowed. Rose looks at the ground, seeming to be fascinated by the grout of the tile.

"So…um… How did you two meet?" Meredith stutters as she sees Derek and Bailey come back. She rolls her eyes at Derek who was glaring at Finn as he walked up to them and sat back in his seat. Derek smirks with pride between him and Meredith as his arm goes around Meredith's shoulders.

"We met at his work." Rose explains as she wraps her arm through his. "He helped me with my new puppy."

"You have a puppy?!" Bailey immediately looks up and face lights with a smile.

Rose looks cautious. "Well, she's about two years old now." She smiles at Bailey.

"Aww, that's so cool!" Zola chimes, turning in her seat. "How did you help?" She asks Finn. Both Meredith and Derek's stomachs are churning with annoyance.

"I'm an animal doctor." Finn explains.

"Wow! You fix doggies and kitties?" Bailey gasps.

"Uh… Yes." Finn nods nervously.

"Cool! I wanna puppy! Can you help us?!" Bailey wonders.

"I think that's up to your parents." Finn says and turns back towards Meredith and Derek. "So… What brings you here?" He asks Meredith, deciding to change the topic as the kids scowl and turn to go back to their coloring.

Derek and Meredith finally light up again, smiling at each other. Meredith takes Derek's hands and put them on her stomach. "We just learned that we are having two boys." Meredith beams and Derek mirrors instantly as he rubs her stomach. They both feel a sense of pride as they face their exes.

"Oh!" Rose gasps and bites her lip.

"Umm… Congratulations." Finn nods at them.

"That's wonderful." Rose smiles. "Your kids are beautiful." She says sincerely.

"Thanks." They say in unison.

There's another long silence before Finn speaks. "So, we…uh…um better check on our table." He says as he takes Rose's hand. "It was good to see you again."

"You too." Derek and Meredith say together again more out of the need to be socially appropriate. They watch Finn and Rose walk away and get seated way at the opposite end of the restaurant.

That was…awful!" Meredith moans and covers her face in her hands. Derek doesn't respond as the waiter comes and takes their order. He is still staring down Finn. Both are silent the rest of the meal and as they pick at their foods. Not talking much, stewing in past jealousy and disdain for the others ex. Derek glares in the general direction of Finn the rest of the meal. While Meredith glares towards where Rose was sitting. Neither look at each other, neither touch. They fill the silence by busying themselves with the kids. The drive home is filled with even more brooding inside their heads at old memories. When they get home, Bailey and Zola fall asleep rather easy while Derek goes to cuddle with Lexie and get her to bed. Meredith puts on a pair of Derek's navy sweats and a tank top of hers while she lays in bed. Memories of the "he's with Rose" chant filling her head.

"That was not the dinner that I had expected." Derek moans as he plops next to Meredith and wraps his arms around her. Feeling slightly relaxed.

"No…that was… Crazy!" Meredith's eyes bulge as she shakes her head.

"I still don't know what you saw in him." Derek rolls his eyes. His voice laced with disgust.

"I don't know what you saw in her." Meredith counters, rolling her eyes.

"That's easy. Nothing." Derek laughs.

Meredith turns and pulls away. "Then why did you date her?" Her eyes filled with fire. Stomach filling with more jealousy. Now she was becoming jealous because Derek didn't even have a reason. She got to touch her love when he didn't even have a desire to be with Rose.

"I don't remember."

"Come on, Derek!" Meredith scoffs and rolls her eyes. "You remember!"

"No, I don't!" Retorts Derek. "You didn't answer my question."

"I can answer that. Because you were with Addison and it didn't seem like that was changing." She raises her voice. Derek looks to the ground sheepishly. "He was a nice guy. That's why. Finn had plans and didn't have a wife."

"I was with her because I really didn't think you'd ever be ready." He spats in anger after her last comment. Meredith gapes at him and scoots away from him in bed. Her eyes glaring at him hotly.

"What?!" She stares at him.

"Meredith, what did you expect?! You hadn't given me a reason to trust you! You kept pulling away." Derek argues. "You knew that!"

"You knew what I was going through, Derek!"

"Not completely, no. You didn't talk, Meredith!" He sighs. "You kept running every time I offered something."

"But I told you that I was trying! I told you that I was scared to loose you and then you told me that you had kissed Rose. Then you continued to date her!"

"Because you couldn't trust me! You kept looking for reasons not to." Derek runs his hand over his face. "I told you that I wanted to build a life with you and you got scared. We even fought about that after you found out and I had said… I had said that I couldn't do it anymore."

"I know, Derek!" She yells and slams her fists on the bed. "You know that I changed after that. I went to therapy to fix my trust issue crap."

"You did and I am thankful for that. So I don't get why you're so pissed?!"

Meredith rolls her eyes and sighs. "I'm pissed because you don't even know why you dated her in the first place! You don't even know why you didn't want to wait!"

"Seriously?!" Derek scoffs with a groan. "I. Don't. Know!"

Meredith stares daggers at him. "Good night." She says finally and turns off the light.

"Meredith! No!" Derek argues as Meredith lays down and turns away from him. He stares at her and watches as she moves to the edge of the bed. Derek tries to touch her shoulder, but she moves away. "I love you." He whimpers finally. Meredith doesn't respond, making Derek's heart break. He slowly lays down, shutting off his light. Derek is not able to fall asleep as Meredith slaps his hands away each time he tries to pull her close. Instead, he looks up at the ceiling, fuming about seeing Finn. Old thoughts of knowing that he touched his wife burning through his brain.

The next morning, Meredith wakes to the the feeling of her stomach churning. She grumbles more when she sees Derek sleeping. Remembering her jealousy and anger. Her stomach lurches again and she hurries to the bathroom. Hoping Derek doesn't follow. She is still fuming with anger. "It's okay, boys." Meredith says as she rubs her stomach. She pukes into the toilet, her eyes closed as she clutches the porcelain bowl. "Ugh, stupid morning sickness." Her stomach lurches again as she begins vomiting on and off for the next twenty minutes.

"Mer?" Derek asks from the doorway. His eyes puffy and they have bags underneath.

"No, Derek." She mutters and tries to stand as she feels completely empty.

"Mer." He says again and goes to help her.

"I'm fine." She brushes him away. "I don't need help." Turning towards the toilet. "I'm going to shower."

"Oh?!" Derek smiles hopefully.

"No. Go get the kids." Meredith snaps, not looking at him. Derek turns, dejected and leaves the bathroom. She gets dressed and showered and doesn't speak to Derek as she hugs and kisses the kids. "Zola, I'm gonna pick you up before lunch for our special day."

"Okay, mama." She says softly, looking between her parents.

"Daddy will take you guys to school and daycare." Meredith again doesn't look at Derek. He has a look of utter confusion and fear on his face. "I'm going to work now."

"You need to eat." Derek pushes the chocolate chip pancakes and fruit towards her.

"It's your favorite, mama!" Bailey coos.

"I'll get something at the hospital." Meredith mutters and kisses the kids once more. She grabs her bag from the couch and slams the door behind her, making Lexie jump.

Derek gasps in shock as he watches her leave. He turns away so that the kids don't see his tears. "Why do ya look so sad, daddy?" Bailey questions.

"Mama's mad at me." He whispers as he wipes away his tears before turning back around.

"Did ya say sorry?"

Derek smiles and rubs Bailey's hair. "I'm trying, Bails."

"Keep trying, daddy." Zola smiles.

"I will." He replies and goes back to packing lunches for Lexie and Bailey.

Meanwhile, Meredith fumes as she pulls up to the hospital. She's actually not remembering why she was actually mad. But, knew that it had something to do with Rose. Not wanting to see Derek, she calls Addison. "Hey, it's Meredith." She says when Addison answers. "Listen, can I come up a little earlier?" When Addison replies that it's okay, she hurries upstairs.

"Meredith, are you okay?" Addison says twenty minutes later.

"Yeah, I'm okay. I just wanted to do this check up alone."

Addison looks at her funny. "Why?"

Meredith contemplates telling her. Finally choosing to explain. "Because my husband is an idiot and I can't talk to him right now."

Addison sits down with a smirk. She snaps on her gloves and sits next to Meredith. Her hand rubs Meredith's arm to soothe. "I understand."

"Was he an idiot when you were married?" Meredith asks and sits back against the table.

"Are we talking about the same man?" Addison laughs and places the probe on Meredith's stomach. She cocks her eyebrows upwards.

"Yes." Meredith giggles and watches the screen. "Hi, guys." She coos at the babies and listens to their heartbeats.

"They're doing great. You're blood pressure is a bit high, so be careful." Addison reads the pad she had placed around Meredith's arm.

"Okay. Everything still alright?"

"Good, everything is moving along. They are happy and healthy. My guess as to why your pressure is high is…"

"Because I'm pissed at their father." Meredith grumbles.

"Yes. Would you like to talk about it?" Addison asks.

"You wanna listen to it?" Meredith asks incredulously.

"Yeah, we can swap stories." Addison laughs.

"Alright, I have surgery in an hour then I'm picking up Zola." Meredith explains.

"Here, have you eaten?" Addison asks. When Meredith shakes her head, she stands and grabs her. "Tell me over breakfast." She says and leads her to the cafeteria. Addison grabs a bagel and some fruit before leading Meredith to the table in the back. Meredith nervously picks at her bagel, slowly eating it. After several minutes of silence, Addison talks. "One time, Derek took out the garbage after we had the family over. Most of the older kids were in elementary school, so the house had gotten messy. The garbage was overflowing. He insisted that we only needed one can still. So, he stuffed as much as he could inside. Well, it was windy that week in the city. When we woke up the next morning, the garbage was all over, our can blown to the side.

"What?!" Meredith laughs. "So, that's why Derek is so adamant about the trash now?!"

"Yes. He was outside picking up trash for an hour as the crowds walked past." Addison laughs. She watches Meredith carefully. "Okay, spill."

Meredith sighs. "Okay. So, we went out last night with the kids to celebrate the boys. "Do you remember Finn?"

Addison's eyes widen. "Oh no, I do. What did Derek do?"

"Besides glare at him with jealousy, it wasn't about Finn, why I'm mad. Do you remember Rose?"

"The doe eyed bimbo?" Addison asks.

"Yes. Well, we ran into both of them last night." Meredith giggles at Addison's description.

"What?!" Addison gasps.

"They are engaged." Meredith explains as Addison covers her mouth in shock.

"That's… Strange." Addison laughs.

"Yes… Well… After we had a silent dinner because both of us were brooding. We went to bed and both of us commented on how we don't see what the other saw in our exes. I was able to tell him. But… He couldn't say why he was with her."

Addison scrunches up her face. "Derek." She rolls her eyes. "I'm sorry, Mer."

"Stupid brain man." Meredith grumbles as her pager blares. "My patient is about to be prepped."

"Okay, Mer. Be careful." Addison smiles. "Oh, and for the record, you two don't need to brood in jealousy anymore. You have each other. You got what you wanted and deserved." Surprising Meredith, she then pulls Meredith into a hug. Leaving her in shock as she walks away. Meredith smiles as she is a little more relaxed. She decides to just forget about her anger for now and focus on the surgery and lunch with Zola. Thinking about how Addison did have a point, they have each other now. But, that fact didn't completely help the fact that Derek couldn't explain his reasons for dating Rose.
