A/N: Good to be back. As you may see, I've changed my tag name has changed. It was a split second thing, just felt like a change.

Been working on this one for a while. This would've been so cool to see. What also would be cool, is a Lost Girl X Wynonna Earp Crossover. Can't believe Emily Andras hasn't cooked that up yet.

Maybe one day.

Chapter 95: We're Not In Sunnydale Anymore – Post S5

The Dal

For someone who didn't have an actual paying job, Bo really did have a lot on her plate. She barely found the time to do anything anymore. If it wasn't for her friends forcing her to take a break, she'd be six feet under by now. Being the one everyone came to for their problems sucked.

Sure, helping people was rewarding and all. But no one ever told her how tedious it would get. For instance, she spent her morning playing mediator to a Goblin couple who were attempting to have a divorce after two thousand years of marriage. He wanted the house, and she wanted to sell.

It got so crazy that Bo just flipped a coin and had that be their solution. She just wanted them gone, and to do anything else other than seeing to someone else's problems.

Normally in these situations she'd go to Dyson's boxing gym to let off some steam and take her days worth of rage out on his heavy bag. But there'd been a big storm a few days ago and there was a lot of water damage so that was a no go.

With Dyson working part time at the Police Station with Mark—who he'd been grooming to take his place—and trying to take over the Dal as a hands-on owner like Trick wanted, he was too busy to open the bar tonight. So, he told Bo if she wanted to get out some frustrations then she could do some exercises there. All she had to do was move the tables out of the way.

Which she did, and quickly got to work trying to centre herself using a calming yoga technique. Once she felt zen enough, she broke out her favourite sterling silver long sword and began sparring against a wooden post that Dyson kept in the back room.

It was important to stay fit.

Dyson exited the back room, clipping his police badge onto the front of his belt. He was due to start his shift any minute, but wanted to make sure Bo had everything she needed. He could see she was keeping a lot of stress inside, because the poor wooden post was getting all of her rage.

"Keep that speed up, and you could give lumberjacks a run for their money" he was scared to approach her.

Bo panted heavily, halting her attack. "What?" She followed his gaze, and looked at the wooden post. It was almost chopped to pieces. "Oh, that! What can I say? I've been holding a lot in lately. I just need to get it all out" she went to grab her bottle of water that she left on the bar.

"And is this just pent up frustration from your new role within the Colony, or something else?" He asked, but she just kept drinking her water. "Are you and Lauren doing okay?" He hadn't heard anything from them.

They'd been together now for ten years. That was a long time for any couple, but for them it meant a lot more. And it was easier now that Lauren had found a safer way to extend her life force.

He thought they were good.

And they were, Bo made that clear. "We're great! Better than great, actually. I've never felt so happy in my entire life" she put the bottle back on the bar.

"So, what's the problem?" He asked.

She couldn't answer it. "I wish I knew" she sighed. "It's just—I thought things would be different after I banished my Dad. But it just seems like the Colony is getting worse. Do you know how many Clan wars I've broken up in the last ten years?" He shrugged. "Eleven!"

"Bo, that comes with the territory in our world. Clans have been warring for millenniums. Even with the subject of peace on the table, they'll always find something to fight about. I don't think that'll ever change" he said sadly.

He wished his kind were more evolved, but people loved a good feud.

"I can't accept that" she shook her head. "If I do, then all the people we've lost—friends, family—it'll all be for nothing" she wasn't letting that happen.

Dyson gave her a quick hug. "I'm sure it'll all work itself out" he pulled away. He checked his watch and saw that he was cutting it close. "So, I won't be back until later. Neither will Mark. Are you okay to lock up?"

She gave a thumbs up. "Of course. I won't be much longer anyway. I've gotta pick up Lauren from the Clinic since her car was totalled by that deranged Pixie a few weeks ago"

Pixies were known for being eccentric, and daring. But when you also add mentally ill to the list, it was a recipe for chaos. It still baffled her as to how Lauren didn't notice a missing patient from her Psych ward at the Clinic.

But she sure noticed when her car was driven into one of the many street lamps outside the Clinic.

"I'm amazed the Pixie made it out alive after she wrapped the car around that pole. They're like cats, they must have nine lives or something" he didn't understand it. "Anyway, don't go overboard with the sparring"

"Yes Sir!" She saluted him with a chuckle, then watched him leave. After he was gone, she sent a quick text to her Girlfriend letting her know that she'd be another hour before coming to pick her up. Her days sucked, but her nights were great because she got to go home to an amazing woman who she loved.

And more importantly, who loved her back.

And that was something she'd been searching for since she left home at eighteen. The fact that she had it was a blessing.

Coming to the conclusion that the wooden post had been punished enough, Bo decided to do some good old-fashioned push ups. She hated them normally, but to get out all this frustration she was forcing herself to endure it.

Just as she was pushing up off the ground for the tenth time, she noticed a large flash of light before her. Hearing a thud, followed by the clang of a metal object hitting the floor; she jumped up and saw a mysterious blonde woman on the ground. There was some kind of red axe laying next to her.

"What the hell?" Bo attempted to approach her, and check if she was alright. But before she could, the woman jumped up and held the weird axe in her hands. Clearly, she knew how to use it. "Whoa! Relax! I'm not gonna hurt you!" He held her hands up. Glancing to her right she saw her sword resting against the bar, she was inches away from it. If only she could stall this woman a while longer to reach for it. "Who are you?"

"Who am I?" The woman raised both eyebrows. "I think the better question is, who the hell are you?!" She gripped her weapon tightly.

Bo remained calm. "I'm Bo" the woman frowned at her. "Bo Dennis. The Unaligned Succubus. The Champion destined to protect all of Faedom. Not ringing any bells?" She assumed this woman was Fae considering she came through some kind of portal.

"Nope" the woman said.

Funny, that usually worked. "Uh, okay. That's a new one. Can't say that's ever happened to me before. But, it's no big deal" Bo side stepped to her left, in the direction of her sword. "How about you tell me your name?"

"Buffy Summers" she replied.

That was honestly a little juvenile. Bo couldn't help but laugh at it. "Buffy, okay. Of course, that's your name. Look Buffy, why don't you put the axe down and we can have a mature and non-violent conversation? Sound good?"

"It's not an axe" Buffy said. "It's a Scythe"

"You say that like it's common knowledge" Bo shook her head with a shrug. "I've never heard of it. In any case, just put it down. And we can talk" she got to her own sword.

Buffy frowned. "What makes you think I wanna talk to you?"

Seeing her chance, Bo grabbed her sword and brought it up to Buffy's chin. "Doesn't matter what you want. Put the weapon down, now! I don't want to use this, but I will if you continue being hostile"

Smirking, Buffy refused to drop her weapon. "Thankfully, this isn't my first time in this kind of situation" she performed a round kick and knocked the sword out of Bo's hand, then went to strike her with the Scythe.

Bo rolled out of the way, and immediately her eyes shined blue.

Which Buffy saw. "I knew it, you're a demon!" She had an inkling but since the woman looked normal, she didn't act on it.

"Honey, I've been called worse" Bo protected herself as Buffy went to attack her again. She didn't know why this girl was so damn strong. But so was she. They wrestled around on the floor, before Bo pushed her away with force.

Buffy rolled away, losing grip of her weapon in the process.

Seeing it unclaimed, Bo picked it up along with her sword. "I don't know who sent you, or how much they paid you to kill me—but you've failed"

"Sent me?" Buffy got to her feet, dusting herself off. "No one sent me. I don't even know how I got here!" She exclaimed angrily. "One minute I was fighting off a Vamp and the next, I was here. With you!"

This was all so confusing. "Vamp?" Bo watched her nod. "Light or Dark?" She asked her.

Buffy thought that was a weird question to ask. "Well, it was in the middle of the night so—yeah, it was dark out"

It was that answer that led Bo to believe this woman had no idea what she was talking about. Asking about Light and Dark was standard around here. But Buffy thought she was asking about the time of day. This was bigger than her, she needed help.

When in doubt, go to the smartest person around. Thankfully, that person happened to be her Girlfriend, and she was due to pick her up from the Clinic anyway.

"Okay" she took a second to breathe. "I have a feeling you're not supposed to be here. And the only way we're gonna figure this out, is if we stop fighting and put our heads together. Deal?" She held out her hand that held Buffy's weapon.

Indicating that she was standing down.

Buffy didn't know whether to trust this girl, but she clearly wanted to help. And she had no one else. "Deal" she took the Scythe back. "How exactly are we gonna figure this out?"

"First thing's first, we need someone who knows more about portals. Sadly, that ain't me. Luckily, I know the perfect girl for the job. Come on, I'll take you to meet her. Just let me get changed" Bo told her to follow her to stay put while she changed out of her work out gear.

She had a feeling she'd run, but when she got back Buffy was still standing there. So Bo lead her out to the car.

Clinic – Later

Lauren was just about to finish treating a Leprechaun with a broken leg, when she realised that she still had some discharge papers to sign. If she didn't do them now, then she'd have to stay a lot later than planned. So she had one of her nurses handle the broken leg while she did the work.

About ten minutes into her stack of papers, she was told that Bo was here and needed to see her urgently. If she had a dollar for every time her Girlfriend got into trouble then she'd be a billionaire. It was always something. She scribbled her name on the last of the forms and quickly went to the lab where Bo was waiting.

And when she got there, she saw that her Girlfriend wasn't alone. "Why do I feel like my day is about to get longer?"

Bo gave a sheepish smile. "At least hear me out before you give me that look" it was a look of equal frustration and also disappointment. And she hated seeing it.

"Alright" Lauren folded her arms, listening.

"I was at the Dal working out some issues with my long sword when a portal appeared, and out came Buffy. She has no idea how she got here, who I am or what being Light or Dark means. It's weird" Bo spoke quietly with her Girlfriend, away from their guest.

Who was constantly trying to dial numbers on her cell phone, which it clearly wasn't working. "What's with the cell service in this place? I can't call my friends!" Buffy huffed.

Bo whispered to Lauren. "Call me crazy, but I don't think it has anything to do with the cell service. Lauren, I don't think she's from around here. And I don't just mean geographically" she had a thought, but it was insane.

Then again those were the thoughts that ended up actually being true.

"That's a lofty assumption Bo. Why don't I just check her out, and then we'll go from there?" Lauren got the go ahead from Bo, and approached Buffy. "Hi, Buffy? I'm Lauren, do you mind if I take your vitals?"

Buffy frowned at her. "Why? I'm not sick. I haven't been since before I became a Slayer"

"A Slayer?" Lauren had never heard of that. "A Slayer of what? Werewolves, Vampires, Witches?" She'd heard of specific hunters, but never that term.

"Yep, also Demons. And one persistent Hell God who was a Grade-A bitch!" Buffy said.

Lauren was impressed, and also a little scared. She wasn't going to lie. The only other person she knew who could do those things, was Bo. "That's very interesting"

The interaction between them wasn't sitting well with Bo, so she got in between them. "Well not that it's a competition or anything but, I've been known to take down a few evil beings myself. You've got one God under your belt, I've got four" She said proudly. "But you know, it's not a contest"

"You're right, it's not" Lauren looked at Bo. "So, why don't you hang back while I ask Buffy a few questions?" Bo still didn't move. "Bo?" She snapped her fingers. "Two steps that way please!" She pointed to the floor a few inches away.

Bo did as she was told and stepped away. She didn't know what Buffy's deal was, but she just wanted her to know that Lauren was her Girlfriend. And not for others to leer at. So she kept her eyes firmly on their guest.

"So Buffy, where're you from?" Lauren had to begin with the easiest questions first. Buffy replied that she was from somewhere called Sunnydale, and that it had recently been destroyed by a Hellmouth. "I'm sorry you lost your home; it must've been awful for you"

Buffy shrugged, "It was, but we did what we had to do. I stopped the evil that was infecting my home, and the price of the War was to lose it. Knowing the evil is gone balances the scales"

Lauren finished running her tests, and she came to the conclusion that Buffy was in perfect health. Which was no surprise. It still didn't explain how she got here, or why. She quickly checked for Buffy's hometown on the computer, and no such town existed.

It was peculiar.

"Okay" she took a breath. "From what I can find out, the place you mentioned—Sunnydale? Doesn't exist. It's not on any map, past or present"

Buffy got defensive, "You think I'm lying?" She approached Lauren with her Scythe.

Bo got in her way, holding her own sword. "Careful" She warned her with a serious stare. "You so much as look at her the wrong way, and you deal with me. Understand?"

Stepping back, Buffy held her hands up. Indicating she meant no harm. "I'm sorry, okay? I'm just worried about not getting home. A home, that you've told me doesn't exist on any of your maps! How am I supposed to react?"

"What happened before you found yourself in the Bar with Bo?" Lauren asked.

Buffy had to think hard, so she put the Scythe down on the workstation and held her head in her hands. "Uh, I was fighting a Vamp. A strong one. I was about to dust him, when I heard someone chanting"

"Chanting what? A spell?" Lauren needed more information if she was going to figure it out.

"Yes!" Buffy exclaimed. "I remember now! I knocked the Vamp out, and went for the woman who was chanting. The dialect she was speaking wasn't anything I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot of weird languages in my day"

Bo sheathed her dagger. "And then what happened?"

Remembering something, Buffy reached into her back pocket and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper. "I took this from her, and the next thing I knew I was on the floor in your bar" she handed it to Lauren.

Lauren hadn't seen this language in a long time. "I think I know what happened to you"

"What?!" Buffy had to know.

"This's a spell for opening a portal to a different dimension. Our dimension, which is clearly very different to your own. It explains why you know nothing about the Fae, and why we've never heard of you" Lauren said.

"So there's really a dimension out there where the Fae don't exist?" Bo got a nod from Lauren. "Just when I think I've heard and seen everything, something like this happens. Am I right to think you've got a fix cooking up in that beautiful brain of yours?"

Buffy studied their interaction. The smiling, and the flirtatious glances meant they were more than friends. "Are you guys like a thing?"

Bo turned to her. "That a problem for you?" She didn't care for narrow minded people who weren't with the times.

Thankfully, Buffy was very much with it. "Not at all. Yay for love, right? I'm cool" she gave a small smile.

"Good to know" Lauren replied. "I need to do some research on this, if I can find the same spell then we can send her home. In the meantime, why don't you give her a tour or something?" she kissed Bo goodbye. "And promise me, you won't get into too much trouble"

"Define, too much" Bo mumbled.

Of course, she would act coy about it. Lauren expected that, but clearly Buffy had no idea. "Anything that results in a severe injury or another bar brawl. Because you know, I never get tired of those" she said sarcastically.

Holding her hands up, Bo admitted her past mistakes. "I hear you, loud and clear. No bar brawls, no severe injuries, nothing troublesome whatsoever. Promise"

"Thank you" Lauren kissed her again. "I'll call you when I find something. Love you" She began walking towards the exit.

Buffy stood there awkwardly. She didn't know them, but she could see they had something real. It kind of reminded her of what she had with Angel. Maybe their's was less messy than her own. "So, how long have you guys been together?"

Bo looked at her, she better not be getting any ideas. "On and off, going on fifteen years now"

"Fifteen years?" Buffy had a problem believing that. "So, you got together when you were ten? You don't look a day over twenty-five, either of you"

That was a compliment at least.

It made Bo laugh. "Yeah, that's kind of a perk for people like us" she could see Buffy was confused. "You really don't know anything about the Fae, do you?"

"Not a thing" Buffy replied.

"Well, it's normally against the rules to expose ourselves to an outsider. But since you're from another dimension, I think I can make an exception. The Fae are a secret race of ageless creatures, we live amongst Humans and feed from them to survive"

As a protector of Humans herself, Buffy didn't like the sound of that last part. "You hurt humans, for your own selfish needs?"

Bo shook her head. "It's not like that. And hurt is a loose term, depending on what species is doing the feeding. I myself, am a Succubus. I feed on chi, which is a person's life force. But I don't kill—not anymore anyway" she immediately felt awful for her past sins.

"But you have in the past?" Buffy held onto her Scythe. She couldn't be too careful. Bo seemed nice and all, but she was in unknown territory. "How many?"

"Enough to haunt me for the rest of my ageless life" Bo would never give away the true number. The only person she ever told that to was Lauren, not even Kenzi. "I was young, I didn't know what I was and had zero control of my powers. Add that to a ravenous hunger and it's a recipe for disaster"

Buffy loosened the grip on her weapon, maybe this Bo wasn't so dangerous. "I wouldn't know"

Bo gave a side smile. Of course she didn't. "I lost myself for a long time. I ran away from home when I was eighteen after an unfortunate accident. Kept running until I found myself here, and I was opened up to a world I knew nothing about"

"How's that even possible?" Buffy asked. To which she replied that she was given up at birth by her Mother and adopted by Human Parents.

"This world is horrible and fascinating all at the same time" Bo admitted. "Sometimes it can cripple you, and believe me it's come close to destroying me in the past. But I was lucky to find the support I needed. With friends that're more than family" she'd be dead without them.

And that was something Buffy knew a lot about. "I know what you mean. I have friends that I consider family too. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for them"

Bo was glad to hear the similarities. "I guess that's something we have in common then, huh?"

"Seems so" Buffy gave a nod.

"So, uh—" Bo stuttered, the silence was awkward. "A Slayer, huh? That sounds interesting, and also a little ridiculous" she couldn't help saying it. Who was called a Slayer? Come on!

Laughing, Buffy could see her point. "More ridiculous than whatever the hell you are?" Touché. "I never had a choice either, kinda like you. This title and responsibility was forced on me by some ancient power. I didn't ask for it, and it's cost me things too"

"Like what?" Bo had to ask.

"Love" Buffy said. "Doesn't it always come down to love?" She couldn't be the only one who'd been burned in this line of work. And judging by the way Bo was looking at her, she could tell she'd hit a nerve.

Because honestly, it did. When she heard that, she was instantly brought back to all the people she'd lost. "Yeah, I guess it does" she paused.

"I always thought I was strong enough to handle anything. But I didn't know true strength until I found love. The love I get from my family—that's what makes me strong. It fuels me" It took Buffy years to figure out, but when she did she finally understood.

Bo smiled to herself. "I can relate to that" she knew all too well. She wasn't half the woman she was now before she met her Family. "Listen, Lauren's probably gonna be a while. She tends to get lost in her own brain when doing research. I could use a drink, how about you?"

Buffy thought that sounded amazing right now. "You're speaking my language. Lead the way" she waited for Bo to begin walking then followed closely behind.

The Dal – Later

In the next hour, Bo and Buffy bonded over their mutual respect for fighting evil beings. It started out harmless at first, but now they were comparing scores which was never good given their large personalities. Buffy was quick to tell her about all the Vampires she'd killed, and Bo was happy to say she'd killed a few too.

Only, they didn't turn to dust when she killed them. Buffy's way was much cleaner. Now they were onto their God tally, and Bo was proud to say she was winning.

"Four" she held up four fingers. "I've banished four Greek Gods. And one was invisible!" That damn Aeros, to this day she was a little creeped out that he was lurking around the lab when she and Lauren had their blackout reunion.

Perv.

Buffy finished the tequila shot in her hand. "Ooh, invisible nasties are the worst!" She remembered one time in particular. "But Gods are no joke. Glory, that was her name" she told Bo about her. "She kept coming for my sister, and made it pretty clear she wasn't gonna stop till she got what she wanted. So, I beat her five ways to Sunday using the mighty hammer of a Troll God"

"Ugh, don't even get me started on Trolls!" Bo covered her eyes, sighing. Trolls were assholes. And by Buffy's description, her dimension had the same.

Suddenly, Dyson entered on their left. And watched as Bo sat at the bar with a mysterious blonde woman. She was hot, he had to give her that. "Evening ladies, having fun?"

Bo smiled, "Actually, yes. Dyson, this's Buffy. She's a new friend of mine. And Buffy, this's my friend slash former boyfriend, Dyson"

Buffy held out her hand, taking his and shaking it. "Nice to meet you. Are you Fae too?"

Dyson raised his eyebrows, shocked. He could smell that she was human; and yet she asked him such a personal question within five minutes of knowing him. What had Bo told her? "Excuse me?"

"Uh, it's kinda rude to ask that of someone" Bo told her, clearing it up. "It's a really important thing in our culture. You didn't know, it's fine. And don't worry D" she tapped his shoulder. "She's cool"

However cool this new person was, Dyson wasn't going to just trust her. No matter how much Bo already had. "Can I talk to you for a minute, in private?" He gave a nod to his left, telling her to follow.

Bo told Buffy to keep drinking, and she'd be back soon. Then followed Dyson a few feet away. "What's your problem?"

"My problem, is you've taken it upon yourself to expose our people to some Human stranger. What the hell's the matter with you?" He didn't understand her. "Are you out of your mind?"

She didn't care for his tone. "Far from it actually. If you'd give me a chance to explain, you'd have a better understanding of what's been happening today. Buffy, is from another dimension"

Dyson's expression was blank. "A what?" He'd heard some stuff in his day, but other dimensions? That was just crap.

"Yeah, it's true!" Bo said. "She got thrown through a portal and dropped right into my lap. Well, technically she dropped over there" she pointed to the floor behind him. "But you get the metaphor"

He took a second to process. "So, you know nothing about this woman and you decide to just spill your guts about our people? Again, have you lost your mind?"

Buffy cleared her throat, getting their attention. "I don't know what you guys are arguing about—but since you're whispering, I'm guessing it has everything to do with me. Am I warm?"

Bo waved a hand. "You'll have to forgive Dyson, he's not really good around new people. We still haven't trained that out of him"

He flashed his ex a scowl. He didn't care for being spoken of like a pet. Though, Bo was right. He didn't like new people. He was a loyal wolf to his core. "I don't know how long you intend to stick around. But just know, if you expose or threaten us in any way; I'll have no choice but to take swift action" he made sure she understood.

But Buffy wasn't one for being threatened. "You might wanna check that tone pal" she stepped closer to him, showing him she wasn't scared. "I'm not the kind of girl you wanna mess with"

"Okay!" Bo stepped in front of them. "That's enough. We're all good here. No one needs to get hurt. Dyson? Go cool off down in the lair" he made eyes at her. "Now!" She wasn't playing around.

With a huff, he walked to the back.

"Is your boy always that much of a dick?" Buffy asked, going back to her stool and her drink.

Bo chuckled. "Actually, that's him being nice. He used to be so much worse. When I met him he was like an emotionless robot. But he's come a long way"

"Yeah, sure seems like it" Buffy couldn't take her word for it. "Do you think you could call your girl and ask her if she's found anything yet? This has been fun and all, but I don't wanna get too comfortable here" she had a sister to get back to.

"Totally understand. I'll call Lauren" Bo walked away to call her Girlfriend, who didn't pick up. That was a surprise. Even when Lauren was engrossed in research, she would always answer her phone. She was a Doctor, she always had to be available. "I have a bad feeling"

Buffy frowned. "About what?"

Focusing, Bo searched inside herself for the answer. She absentmindedly touched her chest. "Lauren" she felt a horrible ache in her heart. "She's in danger! I have to get to her" she picked up her keys off the bar.

And Buffy grabbed her Scythe. "I'll come with" she followed Bo out to her car.

Clinic - Later

When they arrived, they found the Clinic empty. There were no guards, no staff, not even any patients. What the hell was going on? "Lauren?!" Bo ran to her Girlfriend's office, but didn't find anything. But she could sense something. "She was here. I can feel her fear"

"How do you know that?" Buffy asked. "Is it a Succubus thing?" She was still new at this.

Bo moved around the office, closing her eyes to concentrate. "More like a Lauren thing. We're connected in more ways than one" she found a drop of blood on the floor. She saw a bright colour around it, so she knew it belonged to Lauren. "She put up a fight"

"That's good right?" Buffy said. "If she's alive, then they've taken her for something"

"It can't be a coincidence that she was looking into the spell that brought you here, and then this happens" Bo pulled her phone from her pocket and dialled Dyson's number. "Hey, I need you to get down to the Clinic. Lauren's been taken. There's blood here, I need you to track it"

"I'm on my way" Dyson hung up.

Buffy was confused. "If you have someone who can track the blood, wouldn't whoever took her know that?"

Bo shrugged a shoulder. "Not if they're from your world. Or maybe they do, and Lauren left it purposely so we could track her. She's clever that way"

"But why? It doesn't make any sense. Why would someone try to stop her from helping me get home?" Buffy didn't understand it at all.

And honestly, Bo didn't care. "That's the least of my problems right now. I just wanna find my girl, and make sure she's safe. I swear to god, if they've hurt her—I'll rip them apart!" Her eyes flickered blue.

And for Buffy to see that, made her wonder just how powerful Bo was as a creature. She wasn't used to befriending the things she hunted. Only the odd demon and vampire here and there. But never anything else.

They waited for about fifteen minutes before Dyson showed up, he was shown to the drops of blood. He dipped his finger in the blood and brought it to his nose. He caught the scent. "It's Lauren's"

Bo turned around with her hands over her eyes, she wondered how hurt Lauren was. "Can you track her?"

"I won't get very far with this amount of blood. The fact that there not a lot is a good sign. It means she's not hurt badly. Looks like the blood's come from a cut or maybe a small gash. Definitely nothing fatal. Don't worry, we're gonna find her" he touched Bo's arm with a smile.

"I feel like this's my fault" Buffy said.

Bo shook her head. "Trust me, it's not. Lauren would help anyone, no matter what consequences came after. That's why I love her so much" she tried to hold it together.

"I'm gonna help you get her back, I promise" Buffy stepped toward with a hand on Bo's shoulder. "Lead the way Wolfman!" She addressed Dyson.

"I'm a Shifter" he made it clear to her. "Only part Wolf. I'm not a nose for hire either. Bo may not blame you for Lauren's abduction, but I do. None of this would be happening if you hadn't shown up!" He didn't trust her.

She was from a different dimension, why would he? More importantly, Bo shouldn't have trusted her either. For all they knew, Buffy was in on Lauren's abduction and it was all part of a larger plot to get to Bo.

It wouldn't be the first time someone used Lauren against her.

Bo slapped his arm. "Cut it out, no one's playing the blame game here! Right now, your only priority should be finding Lauren. So go!" He tried to say something else, but Bo pointed to the door with a scowl. "That's an order Dyson!"

Dyson couldn't go against her demands. He pledged himself to her years ago, and that meant following her orders to the letter. So he turned around and walked to the door. His nose was picking something up anyway.

A strange scent.

"You didn't have to do that for me" Buffy wasn't scared of him; she would've given just as good back.

"Yes I did" Bo said. "Dyson can be difficult. Especially when this kind of thing happens. He's sworn to protect me, and he loves Lauren like a sister"

Buffy had a question about that. "Didn't you say he was your ex?" She saw her nod. "And you're okay with your current Girlfriend being so close with a guy you used to sleep with?"

Bo could understand why she found it strange. "At first, it kind of annoyed me. I mean, I chose her over him more than once. And his Wolf love made things really complicated for us at one point" she saw Buffy become confused. "Long story, don't ask. Bottom line is, we're family. We take care of our own"

"That, I can relate to" Buffy had done things for her family too. Things she'd do over and over again if it meant keeping them safe. She noticed Bo's hands shaking. "You good?"

Trying to compose herself, Bo made a fist with her hands and squeezed them tight. Hoping the feeling would go away. "I don't do well without Lauren. She's the one thing that keeps me from falling apart. Ever had someone like that?"

Buffy hadn't had much luck in love, "Once" She said. "Someone I would've done anything for. And also another person I recently lost. He was a bad boy, but a good soul deep down" she missed Spike dearly.

"I'm sorry" Bo could understand. "I've lost people too. It sucks" she'd lost a lot of people over the years. Kyle, Aife, Trick, Ciara, Rainer, Tamsin, Hale. Too many for one lifetime.

"Being the chosen one always does" Buffy was happy she finally had someone to relate to with that kind of role. She'd never met anyone like Bo. They suffered the same kind of burden, just in a different setting.

Bo smiled half heartedly. "Preach" she knew exactly what Buffy meant.

"Bo?" Dyson returned. "I think I found something" he followed the scent and went over to Lauren's computer, using her access to log in. He explained that Lauren had been working on something for him the last couple of months. It was a way for him to track fugitives without them knowing.

She called it Project Renegade.

She created a substance that had minuscule nanite trackers in it. All she had to do was get a drop of it on the person's clothes or skin and they could be tracked by a Satellite that the Light Fae formerly owned. Lauren reconditioned it without Bo being aware, and programmed it to work for them instead.

"The scent I'm picking up matches the nanite substance" he kept typing on the computer until it told her where the substance was stored. It was in one of the coolers at the back. So she quickly went to check and found a vial missing. "She knew the blood wouldn't be enough to track with. So she had a back up plan"

That was good news. "If she used it then we can track her, right?" Bo asked.

"Not by the scent" Dyson went back to the computer. "She only added an odour so I'd know if she used it. But I should be able to trace the signal with the Satellite. Hang on a second" he kept typing.

Buffy was impressed. "Wow, you weren't kidding when you said she was a genius" she could've used some of that stuff when she was tracking down evil doers in her world.

"She's in a league of her own" Bo loved her for that.

Dyson hit enter on the keyboard, and heard the machine sound off. "Got her!" He touched Bo's arm with a smile. "She's in the warehouse district"

"Okay, let's go" Bo led them out of the Clinic and to her car.

Warehouse District – Later

When Lauren woke up, she found herself tied to a chair. Her head was throbbing, and she felt woozy. As she came around, she felt a tickle on the side of her face. It was blood trickling down her cheek from a gash on her head. That solved the mystery of the headache.

She focused her eyes on her surroundings, she was in a damp, cold, smelly warehouse. It was full of boxes of freshly caught fish in ice. She needed a hundred showers after this. "Hello?" She heard footsteps around her.

There was such an echo in this place she couldn't tell where the steps were coming from.

"She wakes" A woman stepped in front of her, sporting tribal tattoos over her arms and neck. "Rough nap?" She pointed to her head. "Getting your melon bashed will do that"

Lauren recognised her. "I know you" she frowned at her, trying to remember. "Yeah, I do. You tried to kill my Girlfriend a few months ago" she paused, thinking of her name. "Sarah? No—Sierra! You're a Bruja!" That's when she figured it out. "You're the one who brought Buffy here"

"Congratulations" Sierra smirked. "You cracked the case. Shame there's no prize in it for you though" she played around with a knife in her hand.

"I knew I recognised that spell" Lauren was working it all out on her head. "But why? Why bring Buffy here if Bo was the one you were after all along?"

Sierra huffed, "Well, after my failed attempt at ending her life myself—I realised I was the wrong girl for the job. I needed someone else. A Hunter of all things supernatural. In her world, Buffy is a feared Slayer. She hunts people like Bo for sport"

Lauren just laughed. "That's why you brought Buffy here? So she would go into Slayer mode and make Bo her next conquest? I bet you weren't counting on them getting along so much huh?"

Rolling her eyes, Sierra turned her head away. That had been a major kink in her plan. "No, I didn't. A Slayer is wired to instantly hate supernatural creatures. I figured when she saw Bo, she'd take merciless action" but she didn't. She and Bo had become friends.

And that wasn't good for anyone.

"Sucks for you" Lauren said with a smirk. She loved seeing an enemy's plan crumble.

But Sierra wasn't done just yet. "Actually, it sucks for you" she smiled wickedly at her. "You're the thing that's gonna help me pit them against each other"

"How?" Lauren asked.

Sierra spun the knife around in her hand, "When they get here, Bo will see she'll have no choice but to follow my orders or you'll die. I hear she'll do just about anything, when it comes to saving her beloved Girlfriend's life. Even attack a powerful Slayer"

"And what makes you think Bo will lose that fight?" Lauren knew Bo was strong. Stronger than any Fae on the planet, so why not Buffy?

"A little magical interference will take care of that" Sierra used her powers to keep the knife hovering over Lauren's throat. All she had to do was snap her fingers, and it would cut her. She closed her eyes, and sensed someone's arrival. "They're here. Right on time"

The warehouse door opened and Bo, Buffy and Dyson ran in. Sierra told them to stop moving. "One more step, and I turn the Doctor's carotid artery into a fountain"

Bo remembered this woman. "You"

Dyson was confused. "You know her?"

"Yeah, she tried to kill me a few months ago. Said she wanted revenge for exiling her family after I took over the Colony. Not that I remember; I exiled a lot of bad people" Bo turned back to their enemy. "You're a Witch, right?"

Lauren spoke up to correct her. "She's a Bruja, and she's the one who brought Buffy here. She wanted her to kill you, thinking you were a demon. She didn't expect for you to have so much in common"

Buffy looked at the Witch. "So you're the reason I'm not with my family right now?"

"That's right" Sierra smiled. "And if you wanna go home, I'll happily oblige and send you back. There's just one thing I want first" she was asked what. "Her head" She pointed at Bo. "On a stick. Do that, and I'll send you home"

Both of them looked at each other, they'd become friends in the short time Buffy had been here. Bo didn't want to have to kill her. But Bo also knew that Sierra would make good on her word to slit Lauren's throat if she refused.

And to make matters worse, Dyson realised something troubling. "My powers are gone" he couldn't smell anything, or hear further than this spot. "She's done something to this place. Bo? You're vulnerable here"

"Well, I had to make the playing field even. Didn't I?" Sierra smirked.

Buffy looked at Bo, then back at Sierra. "What stops me from killing you instead?"

"Nothing" Sierra replied. "But if I die, your ride home dies with me" she'd taken precautions.

Lauren had no idea Sierra had spelled the place so that any Fae besides herself had no power. Buffy remained unaffected because she was technically human, and possessed super human strength. Her World had different biological rules to their own.

"Bo, you need to go" she begged her.

Bo shook her head, "You know I can't do that babe" she would never leave her in the hands of a maniac. She turned to Buffy. "I don't wanna hurt you. I even kinda like you, but if it comes down to you or the woman I love—" she lifted her dagger from her holster. "It's not a choice"

Buffy grasped her Scythe. "I understand" she fully accepted this situation and the unfair position Bo was in. "And I know you understand I have to do whatever it takes to get back to my world—to my family"

"I do" Bo hated being in this position. Fae or not, she'd fight like hell for someone she loved. And after losing as many people as she had over the years, there was no way she was losing Lauren. "You ready?"

Fighting was what Buffy did on a daily basis, it wasn't a question of if she was ready. "Are you?"

Minor confession.

Bo was a little worried she wouldn't be able to handle herself against someone as strong as Buffy. She felt it before when Buffy arrived at the Dal. At a time when she had her own strength, but now she had nothing.

No powers.

No Succubus.

No chance.

She turned her head, looking over to where Lauren sat tied to a chair. "I love you" she smiled at her, thinking it was the last time she'd say it.

While Bo was saying goodbye, Buffy took a second to weigh the options of this predicament. She wanted to go home, more than anything. And this Witch, or whatever she was had promised to oblige if she did what she wanted and dealt with Bo for her.

But since when did bad guys keep their word?

Certainly not any evil doer she'd come across. They were all the same. Offer you what you want, and break the deal once they had what they wanted. Was she really going to fall for that?

Not only that, but was she about to murder an innocent person? A person she'd come to like? Bo was the only person she'd met in years who seemed to understand the hardships of being a Champion.

What kind of ally would she be if she betrayed her?

She saw Bo turn back to her, grasping her sword tightly. She couldn't do this. She couldn't take Bo's life. Even if it meant being stuck here, she had to do what was right in this moment. She had to trust her gut.

"You wanna take the first shot?" Bo asked.

Buffy flipped her axe in her hands. "Don't mind if I do" she raised her arms, lifting the axe high.

Bo was prepared to take the full weight of it, if it meant Sierra Let Lauren go then she didn't care. All that matter was her Girlfriend's safety. She watched Buffy launch the axe in her direction—so she closed her eyes ready to take the blow.

But all she heard was a scream from behind her.

Opening her eyes, she looked down and saw herself unscathed. She glanced at Buffy who wore a smirk, then turned around to see the Scythe sticking out of Sierra's chest as she fell onto her back.

Dead.

The Scythe missed Bo by a few inches. "Why would you do that?"

Buffy stepped forward with a sigh, "She never would've sent me home if I'd killed you. Have you ever known a bad guy to keep their word?" She saw Bo's blank expression. "Yeah, me neither" she bent down to pull the axe from Sierra's chest.

Bo rushed over to Lauren and cut the ropes around her wrists with her dagger. "I got you" She helped her up and embraced her tightly. "Are you okay?" She pulled back to check her face. "Babe you're bleeding" she wiped some of the blood from her head.

"It's nothing an aspirin can't cure" Lauren gave a small smile. "I'm fine, I promise" she'd had worse than this before.

Dyson realised it was time to man up and admit he was wrong about Buffy. "I owe you an apology" he spoke to her as she picked up her axe after removing from Sierra's body. "You threw away your chance to go home, for people you've only known a few hours. I misjudged you" he extended his hand. "Bygones?"

Buffy shook his hand. "Sure, why not?" She had enough enemies to last a lifetime. She didn't need anymore.

"What're you gonna do now?" Bo asked her. "Sierra was your one shot to get home"

"Not her only shot" Lauren spoke up. "I actually cracked the spell after you guys left earlier. That's why Sierra kidnapped me. Other than her, I was the only one who knew how to execute the spell that could send you home" she told Buffy. "But she didn't want that"

Bo understood. "She wanted Buffy to kill me first, that's why she brought her here"

Buffy was amazed. "So, you're saying we don't need her at all? You can send me home without her?" She referred to Sierra.

"My ancient Spanish is a little rusty, but yeah—I think we can pull it off, with the help of a friendly Witch of course. Maybe we have one on speed dial somewhere?" Lauren looked to Dyson. He knew everyone.

He smiled. "I'm sure I can find someone, leave it with me" he picked up his phone and began dialling.

"Beauty and brains" Bo gave her Girlfriend a kiss. "You are incredible, and I'm so glad you're okay" she held onto her waist. She just didn't want to let her go.

Buffy couldn't find words, "For a second there I thought I was never gonna see my family again" She was glad that wasn't the case. "Thank you. Maybe you Fae people aren't so bad after all"

"Fae people?" Bo frowned with a smile.

"Would you prefer blue eyed demon?" Buffy asked.

Lauren shook her head. "Yeah, that's horrible. How about we just go with friends?" That was way better than nicknames.

"Friends" Buffy hummed with a smile. "Sounds good to me" she liked to think that Bo was her friend now. They'd realised they had a lot in common. And that was the base of their newfound friendship.

Bo gave a nod, approving of the term. "Friends" she shook Buffy's hand with a chuckle. "A girl can never have too many"

Suddenly, Dyson returned to ruin their little moment. "Got that Witch you asked for. Though she's more of a Shaman" he told Lauren. "Anyway she knows the spell, and has agreed to meet us at the Dal in an hour. We should get going" he was first to the door.

"Don't have to tell me twice. Lead the way!" Buffy followed after him with her axe in hand.

Bo took a second to examine her Girlfriend closer. "Are you sure you're okay?" She continued to see droplets of blood slowly drop down the side of Lauren's head. "What if you have a concussion or something?"

"Umm, who's the Doctor here?" Lauren chuckled as she touched her head. It was bleeding but barely anything at all. "I'm fine. It's just a bump. Nothing an oxy and a nap can't cure"

"You know, I would've done it" Bo said. She reached up to touch her Girlfriend's cheek. "I would've killed her if it meant saving you"

Friend or not—Lauren's life came before everyone's. Even her own.

"I know" Lauren held the hand on her face.

"You don't think she would've kicked my ordinary Human ass?" Bo asked with a laugh. Sierra rendered her powerless. Buffy would've made a meal of her.

Lauren dropped her hand down, bringing Bo's with it. "You're a lot of things Bo, but you've never been ordinary. And powerful or not, I know you would've fought like hell to save me. It's what you do. I love you for that"

Bo leaned in to kiss her. "I love you too" she realised they had somewhere to be. "Come on, we've got a Slayer to send home" she pulled her towards the exit.

The Dal – Later

The Witch Dyson acquired to do the spell to send Buffy home didn't waste any time setting things up. She had a circle made with volcanic ash, candles lit all around it, and she had the spell. All that was left was Buffy to step in the circle.

"How do I know she's not gonna send me to Timbuktu or something?" Buffy had reservations about this new woman. She looked a little too Witchy for her liking. The bone she had through her nose didn't help matters.

And this Shaman was easily insulted, so Bo had to apologise on Buffy's behalf. "Take my advice, never piss off a Shaman" she told Buffy to enter the circle. "The only place she's sending you, is home"

"Okay, sorry. I just—" Buffy took a breath. "I really want this to work" she needed to get home. She needed to see her friends, and her sister.

Lauren spoke with the Shaman and then stood next to Bo. "Well, you're all set. She'll be sending you back to the exact point you were taken. So, for everyone else it'll be like you never left"

"And for me?" Buffy asked.

"I'm not sure—you could remember, or you could forget everything. Travelling through space and time isn't really an exact science" Lauren would love it if she had a better answer for her, but she didn't.

Buffy was a little sad that she might not remember anything. This world may have been weird, but she actually enjoyed getting to know Bo and her friends. "So, I guess this's it then"

Bo stepped forward, "Yeah, I guess it is" she extended her hand to Buffy, and held it tight. She was brought forward by the grip Buffy had on her arm. She was leaning in to tell Bo something.

"Remember what I said" Buffy whispered. "Love fuels our strength. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Hold onto her—hold onto her with everything you've got" she regretted letting Spike go. It haunted her to this day.

It was a different kind of speech than Bo was use to. "I will" She whispered back with a nod, as she gave Buffy a quick hug. "Take care of yourself, Slayer" she gave her a smile.

"Back at ya, Succubus" Buffy let go of her hand and stepped back into the circle. "Thanks for all your help" she smiled at Lauren before turning to Dyson. "And hey, furry face? Smile once and a while. It won't kill you" he'd had a sour face since she got here.

Dyson revealed half of a smile. It was progress.

The Shaman began chanting the spell, and everyone watched as the flames around the circle grew higher and higher. A white light blinded them, and when they were able to see again; Buffy was gone.

Lauren noticed the sad look on her Girlfriend's face. "You okay?"

"Yeah" Bo nodded. "Just sucks, that's all. I kinda liked her" she didn't think she'd ever meet anyone she had that much in common with. It would've been nice for them to stay friends.

"Me too" Lauren gave her a side hug. "Who knows, maybe it's not the last we've seen of her. What did she say to you just then?" She'd been wondering.

Bo just smiled. "Just a few parting words between chosen ones. Nothing I need to bore you with"

Lauren wanted to know more, but she knew she wasn't going to get anything out of her. She was willing to let it go. "Can't argue with that. What'd you say we get outta here?"

Music to Bo's ears. "Hells Yes! Let me take you home. You've been through enough excitement for one day" she took Lauren's hand before addressing Dyson. "You good here?"

Dyson already had a broom ready to clean up the remains of the circle now that the Shaman had been paid and had left. "All good. Have a good night" he told Lauren to get some rest.

A/N: Aww, isn't that sweet? Just a little fun fic. I've got a few updates for this, and the last chapters for my other two open fics.
