Diego came to a stop. The earth beneath him settled back down and he sighed. The Devil had traveled almost halfway across the city of Argus, making sure that he was far enough away from Xar and his battle.

He sensed JNPR behind, so it was no shock when he turned around and faced them. Even if it was four on one, Diego knew he wouldn't receive a proper challenge. They were all just so weak, except for the red head. Her power level was strong, but barely at the level of a thrall.

"I'll give you one last chance, run now and don't ever come back," Diego said.

"Jaune, you have a plan, right?" Pyrrha asked, raising her shield and drawing her spear.

"Of course, we can just rush him," Jaune said.

"I don't mean to be negative, but that sounds like a bad idea," Ren said.

Jaune huffed. "I need to know what he can do before we come up with a solid plan, plus I doubt he'll be able to battle four opponents at the same time," Jaune said. He looked at Nora. "Remember our plan for all fights?"

Nora nodded and reached into her back pocket. She withdrew a glowing yellow crystal and held it up.

Diego raised an eyebrow. "Dust? Pretty standard resource in combat, but ineffective against someone like me."

Diego did not expect what Nora did next. She sent her aura to the crystal and activated it, creating an explosion of yellow lightning. Nora's body seemed to absorb the lightning and Diego could swear he felt an increase of her power level.

His suspensions were proven true when Nora dashed towards him. Diego waved the air in front of him. A wave of stone rose from the ground and slammed down onto Nora. She darted around it, reaching Diego in the blink of an eye.

He was caught completely off guard by the sudden change in the woman's speed. She raised her mighty hammer over her head and slammed it down. Diego crossed both his arms and blocked the attack.

Even though Diego blocked the attack, the force was still massive. The pavement under him cracked and he sunk down half a foot into the ground. He struggled against Nora's raw strength as she pressed down with her hammer.

Nora's finger went for the trigger on her handle. The hammer's head fired another grenade. A pink smoke cloud rose as the grenade exploded in Diego's face. Nora leapt back and Diego came sprinting after her.

She grinned at him as a shield came flying through the air. The shield slammed int Diego's cheek and he staggered to the side. Pyrrha called her shield back to her and charged the Devil.

She reached Diego and he threw a punch. Pyrrha blocked it with her shield and slashed upwards with her spear. Diego sidestepped and avoided it. Pyrrha quickly threw the shield at him. He punched it back. The woman activated the rifle mode on her weapon and launched six quick shots.

Diego blocked all the bullets. Pyrrha pulled her shield back and the two charged each other. Pyrrha extended her spear and thrusted it forwards. Diego leapt to the side, it scraping against his cheek as the weapon passed. He slammed a fist into Pyrrha's gut and sent her back.

Ren leapt down onto Diego. The huntsman slammed both of his bladed guns onto him. Diego stepped back and kicked Ren across the face as he landed. Blood was knocked from Ren's mouth as he was thrown by Diego's kick.

Diego felt something slam into his back and he staggered forwards. Diego hit the ground and rolled forwards, getting back onto his feet. He turned around and set his gaze onto Jaune. The team leader using his sword's second form.

Diego thrusted his hand forwards and a rock spike shot up from the ground and at the male. Jaune slashed the spike in two with just one swing. Diego glared at him.

"Your power levels are all rising, why?" Diego asked. Jaune remained silent. He began to walk towards Diego.

"My team and I were in Hope Reich for almost two years," Jaune explained. "In that time, we saw gods and goddesses, along with beings of unimaginable power. We were sidelined that whole time, why wouldn't we take advantage of that time?"

"You trained for two years straight?" Diego asked. "How? Did you spar against someone of immense power?"

"Anyone who we could find, Ryden, Pat, Emma, Alex, even each other. Pyrrha alone trained for three years in the afterlife against warriors ten times stronger than you," Jaune said.

Diego smirked. "This is good. I didn't want this to be boring and it won't." Diego raised both his hands and closed his eyes. The pavement behind him began to crack and open up. Out of it came sand, masses of it.

The sand flew across the air and swirled around Diego. He grinned and looked back at Jaune. Diego clapped his hands together. "Form Release!"

A blast of black aura rose from Diego's body. It swirled around him like a dark fog. JNPR watched in horror as Diego's body began to morph and change. Bones began to grow from his skin and his complexion even started to change. His skin turned to a milky white and glowing red accents ran across his skin.

Shoulder pads made of bone covered his shoulders. A bone chest plate grew onto his muscular chest. The bone ripped through any clothing that got in their way. Bone plating covered his forearms and shins. He smirked as horns grew from his forehead, resembling those of a bull.

Diego thrusted his hand forwards and a wave of sand flooded shot towards Jaune at lightning fast speeds. His eyes widened and Jaune rolled to the side.

Diego was quickly and suddenly in front of Jaune. "Too slow, ninŏ!"

Diego roundhouse kicked Jaune across the face. Jaune was slammed into the ground by the kick, bouncing across the ground. Diego pulled his hands back and a blast of sand struck Jaune in the back. The sand carried Jaune into the air and slammed him down back towards the ground.

Nora and Ren rushed Diego from behind. Both attacking at the same time, but failing to dodge a sudden wave of sand that carried them off. Diego slammed the two through a brick building, both emerging on the other side of the building and falling unconscious in the alleyway.

Diego took in a deep breath and smiled. "Full power was a bit too much for you, ninŏ."

"Don't be sure!" Pyrrha shouted, dashing in front of Diego. She slashed him with her spear, but he leapt back.

"Ah, the highest power level on the team. I should've known that attack wouldn't wash you away like the others," Diego said.

Pyrrha threw her shield and spear. Diego slapped the shield away and caught the spear without breaking a sweat. He smirked back at her, but it quickly faded as a car was speeding at him. Pyrrha smirked as she launched the empty car at the Devil.

Diego swiped the air and a wall of sand quickly rose in front of him. The car slammed into the wall and bounced of it. Pyrrha pulled her shield and spear back to her. She dashed up to the wall, leaping onto it and letting out a powerful aura filled kick. Pyrrha broke through the defense and sailed towards Diego.

She let off ten shots. Diego didn't even bother dodging them, showing off his new form's defense. The bullets slammed into the bone armor and embedded themselves into it, but Diego barely felt them hit. Two into each arm and leg, and two more into his chest.

Pyrrha landed on the ground and Diego was behind her. He threw a punch at her back. Pyrrha spun around and blocked the attack with her shield. He kicked her and sent Pyrrha back.

Diego charged Pyrrha and swung a right hook. His arm felt very heavy, almost like it was being pulled back. Pyrrha stepped back and cut Diego's side. Diego tried to counter by swinging his left fist at her, but once again his arm felt heavy and slow.

Pyrrha slashed his fist back with her spear and kneed Diego in the gut. She sent him skidding backwards eight feet. Diego came to a stop and looked down at his limbs in shock.

"What did you do to me?" Diego asked.

"My semblance is polarity. Those bullets that you didn't bother to dodge had a target, whether you knew that or not. Now they're inside your body, I can slow down your movement," Pyrrha explained.

"If you think this will effect my speed, then you're wrong, Escoria," Diego said. His black aura flaring all around his body. Diego bent down and shot off like a rocket. He quickly darted behind Pyrrha.

The woman spun around and tried to slow him down with her semblance, but it didn't help save her. Diego's fist slammed towards her. Pyrrha's shield snapped up. Diego's fist slammed into the shield and a shock wave exploded from his knuckles. Pyrrha was launched back from the blow, landing twenty yards back on her feet.

The now rising sun's rays shined through the storm clouds and down onto Pyrrha. Her shield was cracked and chipped from the last attack. Her aura shimmered around her body and she was left winded. So this was the power of a demon? It surprised her, but didn't come as a shock.

She raised her spear and aimed it at Diego, ready to continue their fight. Diego frowned, the rising sun's rays seemed to make Pyrrha glisten like an Angel… something he hated.

"So do you know this woman?" Xar asked.

Currant walked forwards and sheathed his blade. "Yes, I do." He flashed forwards. Currant was suddenly behind Xar, Weiss in his arms. "I'm assuming you're the one who put her in this state?"

"Why yes, much to my displeasure," Xar replied. "I was going to administer the killing blow, then you arrived."

"Were you?" Currant asked, scanning Weiss and examining her wounds with immense, silent, worry.

"I was and if you do not release her, then I must do the same to you," Xar said. "However, you're not on our list and obviously not strong enough to raise concern with Gefahr."

Currant gently placed Weiss down against a wall. He turned back to Xar. "That's a bold claim."

"What's so bold about it?" Xar asked in his regular monotone, gruff voice.

"You act as if killing me is a fact," Currant explained.

"It is," Xar said.

Currant flared his coat back and drew his sword. "Then I think the time for talk has passed."

"Very well," Xar said, clapping his hands together. "Block Out!" He called.

Currant's eyes widened. The light began to drain from his vision. He staggered backwards as his gaze was clouded in darkness.

"This is my power. That spell takes away one of your five senses, sight. It is vital in combat and no one can fight efficiently without it," Xar said, his voice coming from all around.

Currant frantically spun around, trying to feel for his aura or figure out where the voice was coming from.

"Confused?" Xar asked from behind Currant. The clone spun around and slashed, cutting only air. "My aura is all over the place as is my voice. I've effectively eliminated your abilities to detect me."

"You are a fool," Currant sneered.

"How rude. I would expect someone of your strength to admire such a well thought out attack," Xar said. "Are all you humans so disrespectful?"

"My respect is something earned by few. Your attack, while an annoyance, is nothing more than a parlor trick," Currant ridiculed.

"You speak as though you are above my attack, yet you stand helpless against its power," Xar said.

"That's the difference between you and I. Your power leaves me standing, while mine leaves you on the ground," Currant said. He shot to the side, thrusting his blade forward. His blade connected with Xar's, who now stood in front of him. Currant grinned and used one hand to grab Xar's wrist.

"This is a new one," Xar calmly said. "How did you sense me?" He asked.

"You've been misinformed," Currant said. He tightened his grasp on Xar's wrist. "I'm not some mere human, my genes come from Pat Brewner, a wolf faunus. That means my sense of smell is far superior than a human's."

"I see, so you used this sense of smell to target me?" Xar asked.

Currant nodded and looked into Xar's eyes. "It would seem that spell wore off."

"You're very perceptive, for a mere brute," Xar said. He kicked Currant back and raised his scimitar. "This ends here! Mystic Eye!" Xar shouted.

Currant watched as another eye opened under the mask in the center of Xar's forehead. It was lit up blue, unlike the other two crimson eyes. All three glaring at Currant.

"So what's this abomination of nature?" Currant asked.

"While it has been fun, huntsman with no name, I'm afraid our duel ends here. This is my semblance, the Mystic Eye!" Xar exclaimed. "It increases my alteration powers to that of a god."

"Quite the claim coming from the cousin of lowly grimm," Currant said. "But if you want to try and use your new eye to win this battle, how about I use mine?"

"What?" Xar asked. "What eye are you talking about?"

"Eyes," Currant corrected. "Something far more powerful than anything you could scrap together and call a semblance… Gewitter!" Currant's eyes flashed into a frost white. They locked with Xar's three eyes. The look on Currant's face alone was an insult to Xar, did his arrogance know no bounds?

"That technique is nothing compared to the mystic eye!" Xar shouted. "I trained for hundreds of years to obtain this technique, yet you sit there and mock me. You demand my blood for what purpose? Just because I am your enemy? Your pride demands you conquer one more foe?"

Currant was silent, he just stared at Xar, even sheathed his blade. This was the biggest insult yet, Xar was furious. He couldn't believe a mere human would mock him like this.

"Well speak!" Xar demanded. "Ah yes I see into your past, it is one of foolish pride and arrogance, that led to the murders of dozens… all in an attempt to restore your pitiful pride and now you seek my life to feed your pride… you make me sick, MAKE ME SICK!"

Xar clapped his hand together. The street, buildings, and even the air began to change and morph. Strips of pavement curled up into the air, gathering around Currant, building a wall to trap him and Xar. Thousands of blades appeared around Currant. The ground itself shook like an earthquake as Xar unleashed his power.

"What do you think now, you arrogant human?!" Xar shouted. "My blades will impale you a thousand times over and rip your fragile pride to nothingness!"

Currant's pupils morphed into a level six gewitter. The white six pointed star looking into Xar's eyes with no fear, just uninterest.

"Even now you try to save that ignorant pride with a new technique? Why do men like you value their pride to the point of insanity? Your pride is built on nothing but murders and violence, what gives you the right to be proud of that?" Xar ranted. "I've seen your life from the start, you're just some clone, a copy. How much blood must be on your hands until you can get past that? How much blood must spill to restore your pride or to save what's left?!"

Currant calmly closed his eyes and flashed forwards. In an instant he was next to Xar, blade unsheathed and against Xar's neck. He slowly opened his eyes and looked past Xar, almost like he didn't even exist.

"My name is Currant, no last name, I never had that luxury," He explained. Xar looked over at him, not daring to move a muscle, sweat pouring down his brow. "I spent half of my short life of three years, killing and spreading hate. I had no meaning for that time, just an empty husk of a hero, going around and sinning. You ask why do I fight, why is my pride worth protecting? Why must you die? Simple, I must protect my pride… because she is my meaning in this world." Currant looked over his shoulder at Weiss.

Xar did the same, both looking at the wounded and bloodied huntress. Xar's eyes widened and he gulped as Currant pressed his blade harder against his neck.

"And I will go to the point of insanity and back to protect that pride," Currant said. Currant pulled the sword across the demon's neck. The glow from Xar's three eyes slowly faded. Xar's body swayed and fell forwards. A pool of blood forming around Xar's corpse.

Currant sighed and deactivated his gewitter, his blue eyes returning. He sheathed his blade and approached Weiss. He got down and picked her up in his arms. Currant stared at her closed eyes. He quickly flashed away with the woman, heading for Argus' hospital.

A/N: Hey, guys! I know it's been a long time since this fic was updated, but I didn't want to leave it unfinished. I have a couple chapters that I never uploaded that will be uploaded in the next couple days. Thanks to you all for being so patient.
