Linda watched from inside the house, her heart pounding in her chest. She had just gotten the news about her husband, and she had almost fainted. He was made to dig his own grave, and was probably scared out of his mind. She saw a car pull up, and Danny get out. Her feet bolted out from under her, running as fast as she could to her husband. He barely had enough time to brace himself as Linda launched herself at him.

Danny easily took his wife in his arms, her legs wrapping around him instinctively. His heart thudded against his chest, matching hers. His body relaxed as he felt soft lips on his cheeks, neck, forehead, anywhere Linda could easily reach. He put her down, still holding her close.

"I thought I'd lose you," Linda cried, burying her face in his neck.

"You'll never lose me, I swear. I will be right here, right here where I belong."

She nodded, still sniffling, gripping him tighter.

"I vowed to come home to you, alive. Fifteen years, and have I broken that promise?"

"Seventeen."

"What?"

"Seventeen years. You promised- actually, twenty two. When we went to Iraq for the first time, you promised to come home to me, and the family."

Danny smiled, "That's right... Come on, let's go inside." He took her hand and led her immediately upstairs and into the bathroom.

Linda started to unbutton the small, white discs, without uttering a word. She needed to be close to him, to know that he was okay; she needed to see him.

Danny let Linda slowly undress him, needing to be close to her as well. He watched as she slipped his watch off, immediately frowning. She ran her thumb over the raw skin on his wrists, "does it hurt?"

"N-" he smiled as she brought his wrist to her lips, planting soft, sweet kisses to the rough skin. "It's- a little sore."

She nodded and pressed more delicate kisses to his skin. Her lips were moist and supple, setting fire to his skin.

"You're not gonna let me out of your sight for a long time, are you?"

Linda only smiled softly, working his belt from the loops.

"Y'know, if you really wanna keep an eye on me, you could join me."

The blonde looked at him through her eyelashes, "take a shower? With you? I dunno, Danny," she squatted down and pulled his pants to his ankles. Standing up, she continued, "you're injured, and I have a feeling that shower time could get pretty grim."

"Who says it'll be rough?" He nibbles her ear, "I wanna take my time, rediscover you again."

Linda giggled, "fine. But," she took off her lightweight shirt. "If you want gentle, we can't do it in the shower. We need the bed." She slipped out of her jeans, leading him into the bedroom.

Danny pulled her into a hug, kissing her sweetly. He ran his hands lazily up her spine, so glad he had made it home. This event would plague him (and Linda) for a week or so, but he knew he could count on one person. The one person that had stood by him through thick and thin. The best partner a cop could have- his beautiful, supportive wife, right in his corner, cheering him on. "I love you, Linda."
