Chapter 61

The sun shined through the kitchen window as Ricky prepared a picnic for the day ahead at the beach. Putting the sandwiches in a cooler bag, she added crisps and bottles of water as well as biscuits. Then she went to change. Picking a pink bikini out of the draw, she slipped it on, tying her hair up in a pony. Then she went to get Olivia.

Over in the Braxton house, Casey was yelling. "Brax"

"What is it, Casey?" Brax asked.

"I can't find my shorts"

"What ones do you want?" Brax asked.

"My shark ones."

Brax pulled out a pair of dark shorts with a shark on either side. "Put them on and come down stairs, then we'll go. "

"What about my bucket and spade?" Casey asked.

"I'll get them." Brax said, leaving the bedroom.

In Ricky's apartment, having dressed Olivia in her little mermaid costume, Ricky was almost ready to leave, when Olivia threw up over her.

"Oh, Olivia. " Ricky groaned. She quickly changed her and herself, throwing a white mini dress over her. Picking up the baby - bag, she checked she had everything she needed: baby wipes, napppies, change of clothes, mini mouse doll, it was all there. "Let's go. "

As Ricky arrived on the beach, Brax was finishing setting up the tent and looked up. "There you are"

"Don't," Ricky groaned.

"What's up?"

"Olivia threw up on me." she said, sitting down on the picnic rug Brax had put down.

"Why don't you put her in the tent?" Brax suggested.

Ricky nodded and getting Olivia out of the pram, she put her in the tent, before taking off her mini dress.

Brax was watching Casey make sandcastles but to the boys dissapointment, they weren't coming out right.

"Do it like this Case" Brax said, standing up and walking over to his younger brother.

Brax filled the bucket with sand, turned it over, patted it with the spade and then pulled it off.

"Nice Darryl. " A voice said, and as Brax looked up at the man his face darkened.

"Daddy" Casey's voice yelled out as Brax come to stand by him.

"Hello, son. "

"What do you want?" Brax muttered.

"I want to see my son. "

"No chance" Brax folded his arms and stared at him. "You lost that chance a long time ago."

Danny chuckled. "He's still my son, Darryl, don't forget."

"I've been more of a father to him than you ever will be. " Brax said, as Ricky joined him. Danny's eyes looked the teenager up and down, Brax didn't like the way he was looking at her.

"Leave her alone. " Brax said, but for some reason, Ricky couldn't take her eyes off the man. She suddenly pulled on Brax's hand. "What, Ricky?"

"I think it was him" she whispered. "That run me over."

"You leave Casey, me and Ricky alone, or I'll call the police and have you arrested on a hit and run charge. " Brax threatened.

"Nobody threatens me, Darryl."

"I did. You don't scare me anymore."

"This isn't the end of it. " Danny said. "I will get my boy back." He walked off, leaving Brax staring back at him, knowing what a vile man he was.

"Fancy a surf?" Brax asked, wanting to forget the tense exchange he and his father had, had.

"Sure" Ricky said, picking up her board and running to the water. Walking in to the water, they both lay down their boards, paddling in. There was a wave forming and Ricky went for it, managing to catch it.

"See, I told you I'd beat you. " she teased as her and Brax carried their boards out of the water.

Brax smiled. "Only because I let you."

"Yeah, yeah."

"I'm hungry. " Casey said, as Brax dried himself off.

"I'll get us some chips" Brax said, walking in to the tent, to get his wallet, but as he did, young Olivia began to stir and fearing she was about to cry, Brax picked her up and held her out to Ricky.

Ricky went in to the tent and handed Brax a bag. "I made us a picnic" she handed Brax the bag.

"Thanks Rick" Brax said as he unzipped the bag and got the food out.

Olivia didn't seem to have any interest in feeding and Ricky sighed, tying her bikini up, heading out of the tent, she sat down and reached for a sandwich.

As Ricky sunbathed, Brax had an idea. Looking at Casey, who giggled, Brax picked the teenager up and ran towards the water.

"Brax, don't" Ricky said as he smirked and dropped her in to the water.

Emerging a few minutes later, she smirked. "I'm wet"

"I can see" Brax said, a smirk playing on his lips.

To get him back, she flicked her hair at him.

"Oi" Brax replied.

"You derserved it" she said.

"I think we better pack up, " Brax said and Ricky nodded, she was back on school on Monday and back at work, that afternoon. After packing up, the teens went their seperate ways, Ricky letting herself in, to the house. She pushed the pram in to the hallway, placing her board against the wall and unstrapped Olivia, hoping to feed her before she put her in her cot. But she found as she sat on the couch, Olivia had no interest in feeding. She sighed, walking in to the bedroom and putting her down.

Ricky screamed as she looked in to the cot, a few hours later, the baby was seizing in her cot. Ricky stared, and reaching for her phone, she called Brax.

"Help me.." Was all she said when he picked up. Hearing the urgency in her voice, he quickly told Heath to keep an eye on Casey and, heading down the stairs, he picked up his car keys and heading outside, he pulled the door open and started the engine, arriving at Ricky's.
