Lena was doing her research. She felt her failures heavily yet was working hard to try and develop some new techniques. Already she had jotted down her notes on techniques to be used on foes with similar powers to one. The others pitied her, and it hurt. The more pity she got the more isolated she felt, and so chose to be alone. She was beginning to regret this.

"Lena!" Angela pounded on the door and brought Lena out of her stream of self-pity. Lena raised an eyebrow to how aggressive she was being, walked over and opened the door.

"Easy, it's your door too, no need to break it down"

"The Borealis is outside!" Angela belted out like an excited idiot. Lena took a wise step back and looked at Angela. She was wearing her flight suit, apart from the halo, and the scarf Lena had bought her around her neck. Blond hair touselled and shiny. Lena realised why she looked strange in the armour, she was wearing makeup with it. Light, but noticeable and Angela's sharp features were softened. She usually avoided it. What was more obvious was the golden snake circlet she wore over the suit. Lena gave a confused smile.

"Is it?" She began to get what Angela had in mind. "Do you want to go see it?"

"Yes. And dress warmly" Angela let a small surge of power through her wings. "I'm going to give you the best view of it you will ever see"

As Angela promised, Lena had the best view of the Borealis she could possibly have. Lying back on Angela as she flew with her legs wrapped around Angela's, to ensure her grip as Angela held her close and secure. The Borealis was strong and powerful that one night and Angela flew flat and high so all they could see was sky on any side. Lena was smiling wider than she ever had since she got to Sweden. The wind was cold but as promised, Lena was dressed warmly and Angela flew slow. Lena watched enraptured, the last days' experiences forgotten for a blissful minute.

"This is" Lena began. "Just. Yeah. Why didn't we think of this earlier?"

"I was being an idiot"

"Yeah, well. I was being a whinge"

"No" Angela replied firmly. "I'm really glad you're not capable of doing some things. Don't feel bad for it"

"Hmm. Only if you promise not to feel bad for stuff you can't stop"

Angela breathed in.

"We'll both work on it"

"I'd like that"

Lena watched the shimmering lights above her, red and green against a rich dark blue, the steam in their breaths caught the swirling lights and was illuminated by the colours.

Likewise the light of Angela's wings and Lena's accelerators on her wrists and neck. Minutes passed, and the cold began to bite at Lena.

"Drop down onto the ground, dear. It's just a bit too high"

"Sure" Angela replied, and dipped down into the forest, skirting slowly into the ground and moving just feet above the snow. Eventually, Angela alighted gently onto the snow on her back and covered Lena with the hard light wings to keep her warm.

"Oh, very smooth"

"You sounded cold"

Lena bit her lip. "Well, the room is warm, and the lights are dying down"

"The lights don't last near long enough" Angela replied.

Lena grinned and shifted around under the wings so as to face Angela, moved closer to lay her arms over her, Angela nervously placed her arms around Lena's waist and pulled her gently ever so much closer, feeling her breath on her cheek.

"How about we make our own?" Lena kissed Angela lightly, teasing. "Like I said. Warm room. Warm bed" Lena grinned and kissed Angela fiercely this time, Angela held her closer, letting Lena's legs lace through her own and caress her thighs. Lena broke off her kiss and moved to Angela's neck. "Warm bodies?"

Angela nodded breathlessly and Lena grinned wider. Despite the dying light of the Borealis, blue light was mixing with gold in the snow, mixing, flickering and dancing across the white snow.
