Grand Marshal

Pepper Potts looked bemused when she entered the lab where Bruce Banner was working and Tony Stark was pestering him. Bruce straightened up politely and greeted the elegant CEO.

"Do you need Tony? Please say yes," Bruce pleaded.

"I received an email from the city. They want one of the Avengers to serve as grand marshal of the St. Patrick's Day Parade."

Tony waved the idea away as if it was a bad smell. "Nope, not me, I don't do parades."

"Just as well, because they don't want you," Pepper replied, tartly.

"Who, then? Steve? He's a good choice. He is Irish," Bruce suggested.

"Steve has a lock on Fourth of July parades. He shouldn't hog St. Patrick's Day, too," Tony argued. Just because he liked to argue, really.

"No, they didn't ask for Steve, either," Pepper answered. "They asked for you, Bruce."

"Me?" Bruce's voice rose to an embarrassingly girlish height.

"Actually, they asked for Hulk," Pepper said.

"What!" Bruce's exclamation was even higher and more shrill.

Tony just nodded wisely. "Oh, that makes sense," he said. "Hulk is always wearing the green."

A/N: Just a super short holiday story to let you know I'm still here. Stay safe, everyone.
