Hi y'all! I'm back with another chapter. I didn't mean to take this long for this chapter. I meant to have it up on Leap Day or March 1st. Anyway, I hope you enjoy Chapter 91!

I took a deep breath before I spoke. "I'm sorry. Maybe I went about this the wrong way. You don't know me that well, I am virtually a stranger to you. You have just reunited with Olivia not too long ago. You both just want to get to know her, and here I come asking to marry her. I should ask you in person, not over the phone."

"Fitz, we were in shock. It's not that you were being disrespectful to us. You are not. Carolyn and I truly appreciate you being there for our baby girl and asking our permission to marry her. You are right. We just reunited with Olivia, and our relationship with her is still fresh. We want to get to know her but we want to get to know you better too. You are her significant other. This whole situation is new for all of us. I would like to see you in person, but I also know that you are President of the United States, and you can't just leave on a whim. You have to run the country," Preston said to me in an understanding tone of voice.

"I will figure something out. I don't want you to think that I am short changing you. The whole reason that I wanted to do this, is because I want to do something that would bring you both joy and make you feel included in your daughter's life and mine. I know that I can't change the past. I am going to try my damndest to make sure that you make lasting memories with her and hopefully make up for the milestones that you missed out on."

"I appreciate that Fitz. I don't think you have any idea of how much that means to me and Carolyn," Preston said. The way he said those words, I could tell that he was getting emotional. He sounded like he was going to cry.

"It's my pleasure. I just want to do right by you. I just want you, Carolyn and Livvie to be happy."

It was about an hour after Preston got off the phone with Fitz. "What do you think he meant, when he said, he wanted to make sure that hopefully we could make up for the milestones we had missed out on with Livia? Do you think that was his way of hinting that Livia is pregnant?" The wheels in my head were turning, I just got excited about the very likely possibility of becoming a grandmother for the first time.

"Don't get your hopes up Cara. You might be right, that Livia could be pregnant. But let's not do or say anything until she says something about it to us first. We don't want to overwhelm her. We have to take this slow. I know you want to dive in, do everything that you can because we missed so much with Olivia. Believe me, I understand your eagerness. I feel the exact same way as you do. We have to do this at Olivia's pace, we don't want to scare her."

I understood what Preston was saying. I just wanted to enjoy the moment. After everything that we have been through, it seemed like everything was finally falling into place. We finally have our daughter back in our lives, and her boyfriend asked for our blessing to ask for her hand in marriage. It seemed like a dream that was too good to be true, but the best part about it, was that it was real, it was actually happening.

"Can you believe that we have been married for 47 years?" I was sitting next to Preston on the bed, as we were winding down for the night. We married right after we graduated high school. We were married five years before starting a family, then the fiasco happened. But the horror of that was behind us, thankfully. But even though we have been together for so long, it seemed like it was just yesterday that we got married. We still find time to act like newlyweds, we feel like that most of the time.

"No, I can't. Sometimes it feels like we have just been married for five years." Preston kissed me sweetly. Our wedding anniversary was in November, close to Thanksgiving. I can remember it as clear as day. We graduated high school in June 1966. We got married the week before Thanksgiving 1967. I wanted our day to be close to Thanksgiving, so we could always remember to be grateful and thankful that we are together now and always.

I looked at the ring that Preston had given me. It was actually a replacement, because he wanted to give me a nicer ring. It was an updated version of what the original was. He gave me the new ring on Valentine's Day 1998. It's a rose gold cathedral set ring with a moissanite center stone with garnets on either side. Garnet is my birthstone. My birthday is a week before Olivia's, on January 10th. I couldn't help but imagine Livia wearing this ring or something very similar to this.

I was especially touched when Fitz mentioned having a replica of my engagement ring be made for Olivia. It was very sweet of him, that he wants Preston and I to be a part of the process of creating this special moment for our baby girl.

The next part of the chapter will be up soon. Until next time...Taylor
