Hi y'all! I'm back with another chapter. Thank you so much for the reviews for last chapter. I am just blown away that you all like this fic so much. I hope you enjoy Chapter 93!
It was just after ten o'clock in the morning, when I started getting ready for the day. I showered and dressed pretty quickly. It was still relatively early, my ultrasound appointment wasn't until the early afternoon between one-thirty and two o'clock.
I checked my calendar. I had an appointment with a new doctor. The appointment was for three o'clock. The name on the business card was Kenneth Joseph. I'm not going to lie, I am nervous for Fitz' reaction because the doctor is going to be a man. Fitz is usually a sensible man, but when it comes to me, he has a jealous streak. I was still nervous, but I was ready more than anything. My first ultrasound is today and nothing was going to ruin it for me.
Fitz was always coaxing me to have lunch with him. Well I decided that I was going to surprise him with lunch, before he and I had to leave to go to my appointment.
Friday seemed to be like a good day to have pizza. So pizza was what I was going to get for Fitz and my lunch.
"Can you take a little time for lunch?" I asked, holding up the pizza box on my way in the Oval Office.
Fitz looked up from his paperwork and looked my way. He had a tender smile on his face.
"I will always have time for you, Sweet Baby."
The pizza was from a place downtown. I think it was a hole in the wall, because of the size of the place. It's a quaint little restaurant, the size of it could fit maybe eight couples on a date night comfortably. The pizza was delicious, like a hybrid of New York and a Chicago pizza. Big slices like a New York pie but it was deep dish like a pizza from Chicago.
"You straightened your hair? Why? You know that I love your hair when it's curly, Livvie." We were feeding each other from the slices we had on our plates. I swallowed before I answered him. "I know you love my hair when I don't straighten it. But I usually let my hair be like that, on the weekends or when we're alone. I straighten my hair when I'm working or out in public. Most people don't think like you do, Fitz. People don't think that my hair is beautiful when it is curly."
"Well, I say to hell with what other people think about your hair, or anything else about you that they think is undesirable. Everything about you is absolutely beautiful, Sweet Baby. Don't you ever forget that," Fitz told me before he kissed me again for the fourth time during our pizza date.
I sat in the waiting area of the hospital, filling out paperwork. I just realized something. Today was the first time I filled out my paperwork with the name Olivia Carolyn Scott. After I found and reunited with my parents, I decided to do the paperwork that I needed to do to change my name. It was a hassle because of everything that had to be changed, like my medical records, but it was well worth it.
I waited for twenty minutes for my name to be called. "Do you want me to come with you?" Fitz asked me almost shyly. "Of course. You came with me. It wouldn't be fair to you, if I didn't let you come back in the room during the actual appointment with Dr. Joseph." Fitz didn't say anything, his only response to me was a sweet chaste kiss on my lips.
"Well hello, Ms. Scott. I am Dr. Joseph, how are you doing today?" the doctor walked in the room fifteen minutes after we were called back. Dr. Joseph was handsome. He resembled Rob Lowe's character, Sam Seaborn, from The West Wing, because of his rimless glasses.
"I'm fine, Dr. Joseph. Thank you for asking. I'm just excited to see this baby. Someone is absolutely convinced that I'm going to have multiple babies," I say in a light hearted tone, subtly gesturing towards Fitz.
"Who would that someone be? A family member?" Dr. Joseph asks with a light hearted smile.
"My fiancé actually. He thinks that I am going to have more than one baby."
"Your fiancé? I don't see a ring on your finger. If you were my fiancée, I wouldn't waste any time putting a ring on your finger, signaling that you're mine," Dr. Joseph was saying to me, trying to charm me, but he was also silently daring Fitz to say something.
Dr. Joseph stood in front of me and looked up from the chart in his hands. "Well according to the chart I have, you are 36. Clearly, you are younger than that. You look like you are in your mid twenties. You are stunning."
The grip that Fitz had on my hand tightened just slightly. His grip on my hand was gentle yet it had a protective firmness to it. There was no mistaking that Dr. Joseph was getting to him.
"Let's see about your baby shall we?" Dr. Joseph said gently as he proceeded to put the cold gel on my abdomen to do the ultrasound.
Fun Fact: This chapter being uploaded on Pi Day and pizza being mentioned in the chapter is pure coincidence 😉. The ultrasound will be next chapter. What did you think of this chapter? I know it is short. I promise the next chapter will be longer. Until next time...Taylor
