Hi y'all, I'm back with another chapter! I appreciate the reviews and feedback that I received from last chapter. Would I be correct in assuming that chapter 95 has been the best chapter of this fic so far? I hope I can top myself with this chapter. Enjoy Chapter 96!

No, my fingers aren't sore. It's just going to take some getting used to. Braiding hair is very intricate," I say as I interlace my fingers and crack my knuckles, to loosen the tightness I was starting to feel.

"This is your roundabout way of telling me that you think braiding hair is difficult."

I didn't know what to say. It seemed like my brain couldn't compute, to figure out how to respond to that. I could only imagine what I looked like in the moment, because the moment I looked at her, she started to giggle.

"I was kidding, baby. You did a wonderful job on my hair. I love you so much," she says as she leans in to kiss me gently.

Liv slept next to me with her hand over her baby bump. I kissed her temples and the baby bump. I couldn't go to sleep right away. My brain was thinking about one of my policy positions, an agenda for the African American community that I had been thinking about since my phone call with my future in-laws.

I'm not an African American; but I am going to be the husband of an African American woman, the father of African American children and the son in law of my wife's father and mother. I am going to be the best ally that I can be and do my part to begin to right the wrongs that this community has suffered at the hands of white people.

I didn't want to turn on the lights and possibly wake Livvie up. I quietly get out of bed, and dressed in a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt and go to the Oval Office so I can write out my platform for my agenda, in the form of a long form, overdue speech and apology to Black America from the President of the United States who happened to be me, a white man. I put pen to paper and the words began to flow.

I come to you today, humbly in my position as President of the United States, to ask for forgiveness to African Americans in this country for the sins of my forefathers who were the perpetrators of inhumane injustices in the form of slavery, segregation and other particular violences committed that are too numerous to name.

As many of you know, I am registered as a Republican. But I am here to tell you that I seek to change my political affiliation from Republican to Democratic as I seek re-election to this office. You may now be asking why now.

You may know that my father, Fitzgerald Grant II, was California Governor and a U.S Senator for a time and I was expected to follow in his footsteps because of the privilege that I was afforded because he was my father. My father and I were not close by any means. But there was a part of me that wanted him to be proud of me. I guess that is the part of me that is a lost little boy seeking the love of his father. However, in saying that, I was a Republican more or less due to family tradition. I was a Republican in name only, but my policy positions and personal beliefs are more aligned with the Democratic Party.

Now I started this address asking forgiveness to the African American community. Actions speak louder than words. My agenda is to seek reparations for the descendants of slaves. How do I plan on paying for this? I am going to put my salary towards this as well as decrease the size of the United States military to one quarter of its current size. The United States has the second largest military in the world. China has the largest military force. It makes no sense to have a military that size. I will reallocate the funds to services such as the Department Of Defense. Since I am wanting to decrease the size of the military, I will decrease the size of the budget to the department as I see fit.

I am aware that the United States is a superpower, but I want to believe that this country is a beacon of hope for those who seek refuge from oppression. In saying that, I want to increase the budget to the Department Of State and create diplomacy within the United States. The diplomacy in the United States, starts with the action that I am proposing to overhaul and rehabilitate the relationship that African Americans have with the United States as a whole...

The continuation of what Fitz is writing is coming up soon. Buckle up, and get ready for a ride because what I have planned for upcoming chapters, I hope you all are ready! Until next time...Taylor
