Hi y'all, here's another chapter for you. I really appreciate the reviews and response for the last chapter. I hope you enjoy Chapter 99!

I wanted to do this address spontaneously, in the prime time slot. Even though I was prepared, knowing what I wanted to say and dressed for this particular moment, in a dark blue Tom Ford suit, I was trying to decide where I was going to speak from. I was thinking either the East Room in the White House or the Oval Office.

The address is set to go live at nine o'clock in the evening. It was five minutes until eight o'clock, so I had a little over an hour to get myself together. I think I would be more comfortable in the Oval Office behind the desk, and the message would hit home that I would use the office of the Presidency, to put my agenda forward. But on the other hand, the East Room, would be a good idea, because if I would be in the room delivering the address, the messaging would be that I was standing firm in my beliefs and not backing down, no matter what the possible backlash may be afterward.

I stood behind the podium in the East Room, the camera was ready to go. "Good evening. I come to you today, humbly in my position as President of the United States, to ask for forgiveness to African Americans in this country for the sins of my forefathers who were the perpetrators of inhumane injustices in the form of slavery, segregation and other particular violences committed that are too numerous to name."

"As many of you know, I am registered as a Republican. But I am here to tell you that I seek to change my political affiliation from Republican to Democratic as I seek re-election to this office. You may now be asking why now."

"You may know that my father, Fitzgerald Grant II, was California Governor and a U.S Senator for a time and I was expected to follow in his footsteps because of the privilege that I was afforded because he was my father. My father and I were not close by any means. But there was a part of me that wanted him to be proud of me. I guess that is the part of me that is a lost little boy seeking the love of his father. However, in saying that, I was a Republican more or less due to family tradition. I was a Republican in name only, but my policy positions and personal beliefs are more aligned with the Democratic Party.

"Now I started this address asking forgiveness to the African American community. Actions speak louder than words. My agenda is to seek reparations for the descendants of slaves. How do I plan on paying for this? I am going to put my salary towards this as well as decrease the size of the United States military to one quarter of its current size. The United States has the second largest military in the world. China has the largest military force. It makes no sense to have a military that size. I will reallocate the funds to services such as the Department Of Defense. Since I am wanting to decrease the size of the military, I will decrease the size of the budget to the department as I see fit." I pause and take a breath, looking straight ahead at the camera.

"I am aware that the United States is a superpower, but I want to believe that this country is a beacon of hope for those who seek refuge from oppression. In saying that, I want to increase the budget to the Department Of State and create diplomacy within the United States. The diplomacy in the United States, starts with the action that I am proposing to overhaul and rehabilitate the relationship that African Americans have with the United States as a whole. I feel compelled to say this, and back this up by swift and necessary actions, because if I do not, I would be a hypocrite otherwise. I am sure that you are aware that I am in love with an incredible woman, who is African American. I fell in love with her when I least expected it to happen. But when you are in love, that love will have you do things that will surprise you in the most fulfilling ways imaginable. When I look at my beloved in the eyes, I want to do everything that is within my power to make her happy." I can feel myself getting choked up. I clear my throat to keep the incoming tears that threaten to fall down my face.

"I have long come to this realization: African Americans are the backbone of the United States, but they are treated with the utmost disrespect, as if they were meant to be treated as the scum of the earth. I am absolutely disgusted on behalf of the African American community. Frankly, if anyone deserved to be treated with such disdain, it would be white people. If white Americans had any idea of the daily discriminatory actions that African Americans are forced to deal with, if white people had any type of empathy or moral code, they would think twice about their actions implicit and explicit. I am using the bully pulpit of the office of the United States Presidency, to set forth an agenda to right the wrongs that African Americans have endured at the hands of white Americans who felt the need to flaunt their supposed superiority. As the preamble of the Constitution states: We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal. I am going to make it my mission of this administration to make sure that the promise of the country rings true for African Americans. The United States should be a safe haven to its citizens not a disaster zone."
