Hello everyone! I hope you all are staying safe during these times.

I have been trying to get some writing done, however this past week has been dedicated to making sure my whole family set for a possible lock in situation.

So unfortunately this is all I managed to write for now, especially as I try to finish my college work after not having internet for over a week.

I also noticed that in chapter 19 the first part had not been copied over so I made that change.

Everyone keep safe and enjoy this small chapter.

They had wondered why so many soldiers were at Highgarden and why the keep was so fortified. But after Samwell's interrogation, they discovered why.

Her former Hand, Tyrion Lannister, was in Highgarden.

The last living Lannister had decided to visit his sellsword friend. Lord Tarly had been sent to warn the Lord Hand and instead of making a run for it, he had decided to stand his ground and help his friend defend against the dragons.

She had nearly climbed on Drogon and flown directly to Highgarden the instant she heard the news.

Even after all these years the hatred and betrayal burned through her veins, the dragon within demanding justice and vengeance. Tyrion's betrayal had hurt just as much as her husband's had. He had believed in the Lannister, had come to see him as a brother of sorts.

But all that's gone now.

Now she had a family, a true one. And all she's about to do, is for them and to keep them safe.

Aegon is down below, leading their troops and all she's awaiting is the signal to dive down. She can see the armies clashing. Her Dothraki holding behind ready to ride in as soon as they saw her.

She takes deep breaths and closes her eyes fighting the memories that threaten to come forth.

She hears Ghost's howl and knows it's time.

She dives, fast.

She's coming from behind, heading straight for the walls and the scorpions. As she does she hears the screams of her Dothraki and the thunder of their galloping horses.

Bolts fly past her and even as large as Drogon has grown, he manages to avoid them. Together they burn down the scorpions and those manning them. She remembers the plan and also burns down the gates to allow her Unsullied through.

She feels pain and cries out as Drogon let's out a roar. She looks to her side and sees an arrow lodged in her shoulder, barely missing her heart.

Fear, Panic, Pain.

She sees blood dripping from around the arrow and pressure forms in the back of her mind.

"Burn it all. They'll hurt you again, he'll hurt you again. Let me in and I'll burn it for you, just like before…"

"No!" she yells both out loud and in her mind.

"Let it happen, Mad Queen. The sooner you let it happen the less it will hurt…"

She grinds her teeth together and grasps tightly onto Drogon's spikes.

"Drogon… A…Aegon," she grits out fighting through the pain.

With a roar her oldest son lets her know he understands, taking off in a search for her husband.

The fighting is still going on around her, her men against the men of the three-eyed raven. They appear to be winning but the pain is getting worse.

"Just let me in, I'll take all the pain away"

They land as she grasps desperately at her head, shutting her eyes. She hears swords clashing, men yelling but then ashes fill her lungs, heat from flames hit her skin, screams of innocents as they're burned to death. Instead of Highgarden, she finds herself in Kings Landing.

Someone grabs hold of her and she opens her eyes.

It's Aegon.

And that fact alone eases the pain.

"Dany, you're hurt," he says in a panic, looking at her frantically.

"He's…" she groans as the pressure on her mind surges again.

It takes her husband a minute but he realizes what going on.

"We need to get you back to the camp," he yells above the sounds of battle.

The world goes quiet and the pain goes away.

She risks a glance around her and sees everyone has stopped fighting, looking as confused as she felt. Then in her head, she hears the voice again.

"The Songs of Ice and Fire must end. Those who bring them to me will not only be spared but rewarded in my reign…"

All men around them grasp painfully to their heads dropping down to their knees in agony. Her head feels ready to burst and she's sure the blood loss is beginning to affect her.

"Dany, Dany look at me," she hears her husband's voice. "We need to get you to the camp and you need to fight him."

"I can't," she grits out. "I'm trying."

"Breathe love. I'm here," he reminds her. "You're no longer alone. You have your family. You are strong, one of the strongest people I know. Fight him Dany."

Lya, Jae, Rhae.

The pain leaves as she thinks of her children.

Her children. Children of Fire. Children of Ice.

Ice and Fire.

Songs of Ice and Fire.

Her head snaps up looking at Aegon.

"The children. He's after the children!"

Fear takes a hold of her husband's features but before they can react they hear a horn blowing. They glance towards the Highgarden castle and see the Targaryen banner hanging off the walls. The sight should bring them some peace and victory but it doesn't.

Thankfully the opposing forces realize what has occurred and immediately drop their weapons. Their men yell out in triumph but they straddle Drogon and fly back to the camp.

Aegon doesn't allow her to completely dismount before carrying her towards one of the healers. Their trust in maesters was still shaky and when it came to their well being they only trusted the Freefolk and Dothraki. Thankfully as soon as their people realized what was happening they order Aegon to place her on a cot and begin attending to her.

"The children," she groans towards him. He places a kiss upon her brow and thankfully leaves the tent.

As the arrow begins to be pulled out all she can remember is screaming in pain before everything turns black.

Sorry for cliff hanger. Someone in another story had pointed out that all three of my previous updates had cliff hangers (this would be the fourth). However cliffhangers help me get back to writing a bit faster.
