Sitting in their Jeep, tracking the female T-rex, Drew turned to Leon, Cynthia, Jack, Alice, Adrian, Kyle and Nikolai and said, "Alright, here's the plan." He gestured to Leon, "We're going to use the allosaur squad to herd the T-rex back to the vet offices. When we get there, we're going to corner her using a little something we've got cooked up there, allowing Nikolai to tranquillise her." Everyone nodded at this summation; Drew smiled and said, "Alright, let's finish this up."

In the Jeep, Drew, Leon, Jack, Collete and Kyle drove through the forest where Sharptooth was last seen, with Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion running alongside them. They reached a clearing in the forest, and the allosaurs slowed down, lowering their heads to the ground. Drew turned to Leon quietly, "They've found something." Leon nodded, "I know." Standing in the clearing, about 200 metres away, was the female T-rex's unmistakeable form.

Leon whistled quietly to Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion, who tensed, awaiting the order from their alpha. Leon raised his hand, making sure that all three of the theropods could see him, and lowered it, before saying "Get it". The female T-rex only had time for a single growl of outrage as Drogon charged into her, knocking the wind out of her. As she thrashed in outrage, the Allosaurus ran into the clearing, splitting up and running in a circle around the other theropod, blocking off her retreat.

The Tyrannosaurus hauled herself off the ground to see that the Allosaurus had the larger theropod surrounded. Suddenly, she lashed out at Viserion, who nimbly jumped back and dodged his blows. Whilst the larger theropod was distracted, Rhaegal darted out and snapped at her feet. They repeated this process for half an hour; every time they did it, the tyrannosaur moved a little further forward, out of the clearing. Suddenly, Rhaegal moved forward to snap at the tyrannosaur's heels, to which she attempted to lunge at him. However, Rhaegal jumped nimbly out of the way.

The tyrannosaur, her advantage lost, growled in indignation, and ran off out of the clearing. The Allosaurus followed her, snapping at her heels like sheepdogs and the Jeep following behind. As they ran along the trail up to the vet offices, when she attempted to veer away from them, an allosaur would block her path. Once they reached the vet offices, Leon called the allosaur back and they watched as the female Tyrannosaurus tore down the path. Drew raised the radio and said, "Nikolai, time to let out the M-Bomb."

Standing by Martha's recovery pen, Nikolai briefly looked uneasy at this order, "Komandir, are you sure? I don't think Martha could last in a fight with this thing…" He could hear Drew from the other end, "Don't worry, that was taken into account – she's never seen a mammoth before, so she'll be distracted long enough for you to tranquillise her." As Drew said this, Nikolai could hear footfalls; Martha began to stamp and bellow in her recovery pen. Nikolai put his hand on the mammoth's massive head and said, "Do not worry; you'll be fine."

A snarl alerted him back to reality and he turned to look at the theropod who had just emerged in front of him. The female Tyrannosaurus looked very much like Sue, the adolescent female they already had. However, her colouration was slightly lighter– the grey on her underside was incredibly pale, almost white and the black on her body was more like a dark grey. Nikolai noticed that she was painfully thin with exposed ribs, and her face was contorted into a snarl, her eyes burning with crazed fury and drool cascading down her mouth. She took two steps forward, eyes burning with a crazed glint. Nikolai breathed out and pressed the button that opened the door to Martha's pen.

The mammoth took a few steps forward towards the tyrannosaur and bellowed loudly. The tyrannosaur recoiled in fear at the sight of this new creature and took a few steps back. It was that opportunity Nikolai had been waiting for – he lifted his tranq gun and pointed it at the tyrannosaur…

The female tyrannosaur snarled at Martha, in a vain attempt to scare her off. In response to this Martha reared up on her hind legs and brought them down with such force that the ground around it shook, before emitting a loud, trumpeting bellow. The female T-rex scanned the area; in particular, the enormous creature bearing down on her. Her mind made her realise one thing; she would have to fight her way out.

However, as she stepped forward, her movements became slower and more disoriented, before suddenly, she finally fell, unconscious, with Martha staring in almost disbelief at what had just happened. A tranquilliser darts stuck out of her back. A short distance away, Nikolai Koshkin smiled – neither himself nor Martha had been harmed and the tyrannosaur was down. The disaster was over. Suddenly, his radio crackled into life; lifting it, Nikolai said, "Kommandir, she's down. However, there is something I'll need to talk to you about…"

Meanwhile, Alice, Will and Raksha were tracking Duncan and the mercenaries; the trail had taken them to Ice Age March. However, they'd been searching for over two hours now and they'd found absolutely no trace of them. There was also the matter of Drew and most of the others being occupied with pursuing a new female T-rex – likely released by the mercenaries, according to Cynthia.

Watching them was Zander Hacker, sitting stealthily in some bushes. He'd been tracking them for almost two hours now, always managing to keep himself hidden from them – with Ed failed in his mission and presumed dead, terminating these two would be imperative. He'd shoot them with one bullet each, push them in the hyena paddock, maybe, and then head off to rendezvous with Ursula and Duncan. Easy. To be honest, tracking down a target was his favourite part of the job – there was just something so enjoyable about it.

Meanwhile, Raksha was sniffing the ground, whilst Alice said, "That's weird." Will turned to look at her and said, "What? Raksha lost the scent?" Alice shook her head, "No, quite the opposite. In fact, Raksha's picking it up too well for someone who's not here." The two suddenly went rigid; Raksha sniffed the air and growled. Will muttered quietly, "We need to…" Suddenly, a voice said behind them, "Not move another inch."

They turned to see a tall, thin, dark-haired man, clad in black BDUs pointing a rifle at them. Alice, Will and Raksha. The two humans took a step back, as the bear dog began snarling at the mercenary. The mercenary gave a predatory smirk and gestured his gun to Raksha, "If you move another inch, I'll shoot the weird dog." Alice pulled Raksha back. Will stared coldly at the mercenary and said, "We're unarmed and we're no threat to you – lower your gun and let us go, please."

The mercenary briefly looked contemplative, before smirking menacingly at them, "Now, where'd the fun in that be? Now, who wants to go first?" He raised his finger and pointed at Raksha, "Eeeny meeny miney moe", before pointing at Will. Alice looked at him with an expression of horror as the mercenary lifted his gun at Will's head and got ready to fire…

It happened so quickly, they could barely comprehend it. The mercenary only had time for a single cry of surprise as a large, furry brown shape slammed into him, with a speed that belied its massive bulk. As the mercenary fell, his gun went flying to the ground – Will grabbed it and confiscated it.

Alice, Will and Raksha turned to see an enormous, scarred cave bear towering over the prone mercenary – they knew just from appearance that it was Baloo. The once sarcastic and cold mercenary had devolved into a gibbering mess. Baloo lowered his head and roared in the terrified mercenary's face, before bringing his jaws down on the mercenary's head; with a sickening crunch, it was over.

Baloo left the dead mercenary's body and padded over to Alice, Will and Raksha, as if to see whether or not they were okay. Will muttered under his breath, "Yeah, I am, big guy." Baloo looked over them, as if seeing whether or not they were injured, before ambling the short distance back to his paddock.

Will and Alice looked at each other for a few minutes, before Alice lifted her radio and said, "Cynthia, one of the mercenaries found us. He tried to shoot us – however, Baloo got him before he could kill us. However… this has to end. All this secrecy. We tell them." Cynthia's voice sighed in from the other end, "Fine. However, I do have something I'd like you to investigate first. It seems that Duncan and the last of the mercenary team were parked at Theropod Kingdom…"
