We returned much sooner than anticipated; word traveled fast throughout the school and beyond of what we had done. Storm was due to return in a matter of hours. Peter/I were permitted to stay at the mansion for a while. It was fine; as much as we missed Stark labs Beast had a full setup that worked just fine; plus it wasn't in the city. The more secluded venue for the school had great appeal for Pete/me.

We still very much worked for Stark still; in fact we could be company reps to the X men. And better yet...we could help give the X men added charity funding through the Stark foundation. The truth was the school needed the funding and Stark had plenty of cash to go around. And Tony did pride himself on his philanthropy. One simple text to Happy about this matter had resolved it in a short time. The Parkers had gained considerable influence with Stark and in a short time.

We obviously weren't mutants, but that didn't mean they didn't need allies. Everyone needed allies. Plus Peter and I had plenty to offer the X men. As had been true in the other reality Charles offered me a teaching position here too; Peter could be Beast's assistant. I took the offer. There was an entire crop of teen X men that needed guidance and instruction and I would now help do that as a science teacher. Doctor Parker... I was still not used to that but would in time.

It didn't take long for Peter and I to fit in on the lovely campus filled with misunderstood people despite not being mutants. Peter'd been an urban nerdy loner and strangely enough so had I being the geeky only child/Olympian on Themyscira. We were both "oddballs" in that regard like the mutants here; for us, it had helped facilitate our attraction/romance as well. Plus Peter was more of a civilian at heart and I a warrior. We were just opposite enough to attract; and it worked very well. Still, our marriage needed work too. Not that things were bad in any marital department, but it was a contract like anything else. Everyone had to do their part and it needed TLC like anything important did to flourish.

That was another reason I'd come here. It was another reason I'd been so hell bent on stopping this latest bit of commie/demon insanity. It was true that things would never end for us. Mandarin was down for a while; Mephisto would likely return sooner; but we did have peace for a while. It had been wearing on Peter though. It was evident. He wasn't giving up on us in any way, no. But it was still wearing on him. I wanted to give him that peace to find "us" again.

A few days past; Storm returned; the world was a little safer now for a while. Peter and I could finally unwind. I taught my first classes as a Xavier institute physics instructor; Peter worked very well with Hank. We had some good alone time too; very long overdue I might add!

I went to my first faculty meeting. Mutant rights had come a long way, but there was fear of xenophobic setback; which would only embolden the brotherhood to ratchet up their militancy again. Charles didn't want that to happen. Plus there was need to find more mutants; student numbers were down. School estimates placed dozens of high school aged candidates on the east coast alone. The school still operated discreetly; the faculty wanted to go public with it. Charles wanted to make it a full scale public university for mutant kind. I advised waiting until the Stark foundation could get fully involved; they agreed.

"Diana, you've done so much already, but would you be willing to help recruit more mutant students?" Charles asked of me. "Of course. With Honor I can portal them here safely as well to avoid unwanted attention." Charles smiled. "That would be lovely. You know, I've never doubted our capability of protecting our students and faculty here...but I do admit that having gods also helps with security." "That, and said gods having ties to the most powerful company on earth doesn't hurt either." He laughed. "Agreed."

I told Peter about my recruitment assignment. "Okay; be careful out there." "Of course. You stay out of trouble here." I took his hands. "We'll get there honey." "I know Di. I knew what I signed up for." "And being here should help with that too." He nodded. We shared a quiet smile/moment before hugging tightly and kissing. We touched foreheads for a few moments before finally parting.

I held out my hand and Honor flew into it moments later. Peter laughed. "That never gets old." Scott and Jean would be my traveling companions for this recruitment trip. "Ready?" Jean said. "Yeah; let's do this."
