Chapter 16: The Phoenix Rises
As she rises may she never fall again but if she does; death will never suit her
When Phoebe and her two daughters arrived back at the attic;she was beyond flustered about the entire situation. She didn't understand the how and when and why their family had a thought this was okay. But the first thing she wanted to do was resurrect her daughter. Yes, she saw that much from the vision. That much from briefly touching Kallisto's hand. That much.
They all voyage off to the enchanted garden. Where they were greeted by none other than Jetalunus also known as Melinda. She stood there. The garden belonged to her. She stared at everyone that came into the garden. Eyeing the vase that Phoebe held so tightly to her chest with her dear life. She knew what it was like to lose something or better yet someone.
Before Luna could say anything to anyone in the room; in walked her mother with her aunt Paige attached at the hip. She was quite frustrated that her younger siblings and younger cousins did not listen to her instructions that she left with them. The past needed to stay in the past and the future needed to be a part of the future. Too much of the exchange can ruin things far worse than they believed there to be so at the moment. Luna knew the difference in the consequences of time travel. And Pandora knew it all too well. So there they were; the charmed ones; In the midst of chaos trying to correct the wrongs of a family they truly knew nothing about.
Finally Luna started to speak so softly slightly above a whisper but her voice projected somehow. She called out "Chris, Azcadelia" they quickly orbed in. They immediately saw the vase and knew what was coming.
"I believe I told you to send them back," Jetalunus informed.
"I saw what happened," Phoebe started but she could hardly utter a word.
"No you only saw a portion of what happened," Jetalunus shot back rather quickly. "If your lovely daughters would have taken the time to explain then maybe you wouldn't be so happy to let that monster out of her cage,"
"Melinda," Piper said stepping forward.
"Melinda is dead," Jetalunus shot back making everything shake in the garden. Behind the group, the eclipse watched from the entrance. Being careful not to disturb. It was so much they didn't know. So much knowledge to gain. Pandora suddenly appeared out of a puff a pink smoke.
"What is happening?" Pandora asked.
"Your mother here decided to go on a little field trip to get your darling Orcelle…" Jetalunus informed; pointing to Phoebe. Pandora quickly looked over and eyes went straight to the vase and back at her sibling. Pandora hovered slightly in front of her mother touching the vase slightly.
"Pandora," Viper said stepping forward.
"Sssshhh," Pandora said swiftly. Viper was silent, Kallisto grabbed her hand; signaling for her to step back. This was not their battle anymore.
"What did you do?" Pandora managed to get out looking up at her mother. She started to cry lavender tears, piercing her mother with her eyes. Never wiping the purple teardrops as they were falling from her face.
"What did I do? What about you?" Phoebe shot back. "Encaging your sister in a sealed shut tomb." She added.
"That was for her protection," Pandora explained.
"Protection from who?"
"From all of US...from Z. Where she couldn't be disturb, where she truly could rest. Where she had the most capability for peace" Pandora yelled, snatching the vase from her mother. Pandora held the vase tightly as she walked to the edge of the lake.
"No," Jetalunus said, stepping forward.
"Now it's her time to live again" Pandora said.
"You know the risk of awaking Orcelle; you know how easily she can be swayed" Jetalunus said back.
"Yes; I know more than most but a deal is a deal. If anyone disturbs her resting then she must be set free." Pandora replied. "Do you not honor your deals anymore?" Pandora said questioning Jetalunus.
Chris stepped forward; interjecting "Melinda has always been and always will be a woman of her word. Your deal is honored." Luna nodded to her brother in agreement; Chris and Wyatt were two people she hardly challenged.
There Pandora stepped forward taking a deep breath. She hummed a song that could even wake the dead. The vase began to glow; gold matter sparking from the lid. She stepped back and threw the vase in the calm water.
"What is happening?" Phoebe questioned.
The enchanted lake started to sizzle; the waters were no longer calm. The lake heated, turning red. The waters began to catch flame. Temperatures rising and the flames growing. The water bubbling and lava spilling from the lake burning the grass nearby. Everyone stepped back as a cold chill came across the room. In the flames; out shot the Phoenix from the waters. There it was a giant red Phoenix rising from the depths of the water. Stretching its wings back and boldly displaying itself. And as it expanded its wings; it started to turn and twist forming into a tornado. The wind causing the room to be field with dust and they could barely see the Phoenix anymore. And when the wind stop; out appeared a woman with long red hair and piercing brown eyes. Levitating in the air. Her eyes filled with curiosity. She lowered herself and stepped into the grass. Her hot feet burning the grass as she touched it briefly. She looked around surrounded at the familiar faces; the flame in her eyes never dulling.
"My my my... look what we have here," the Phoenix clap with a smirk on her face.
There the Phoenix stretched her arms working the kinks out of her body. Being trapped for so long could make you a little stiff. Her naked body showcased to everyone. There was no wind in the garden but her hair was flowing gracefully. She snapped her fingers and red robes formed around her body. She hovered over to her mother barely above the ground; her feet still warm from her return. She smiled down at her mother.
"Oh mother, thank you," Orcelle spoke pulling her mother into a hug. "Freedom feels nice," she added turning back around to face Pandora.
"My darling Pandora you look well…" she spoke again. "What? Cat got everyone's tongue," she added with a laugh.
"Orcelle…." Jetalunus started.
"Isn't it Melinda Luna Halliwell aka Jetalunus the moon goddess," Orcelle interjecting quickly. She waved her hand and a bench appeared; sitting down to rest her feet.
"Don't cause any trouble," Pandora said sternly.
"A deal is a deal, my dear sister. I promised the next time I resurrected I would not intervene." Orcelle replied, making a white flag appear and waving it. "You won't get any trouble out of me this time,"
"Good," Jetalunus jumped in. "Because if you do this time you'll remain a pile of ashes," she added disappearing within the light.
"A bitch isn't she," Orcelle stated with a grin. "So a little birdie told me that you guys have a problem," she added turning to look at Azcadelia.
"How did you know-" Selene said stepping from the entrance, her curiosity getting the best of her. Orcelle swiftly looked over and her smile widen.
"Amazing thing powers can be. Even in a pile of ash; I can still feel emotions and read minds. Time never truly stops for me..." Orcelle trailed off.
"Z cursed Azcadelia before she left," Chris announced.
"I can defuse their minds and stop the intertwining of their minds so that sweet Azcadelia emotions are her owns. Making her thoughts her own again. Unfortunately I cannot stop the curse itself. The curse is draining Azcadelia life force and your going to need more than just little oh me to help her," Orcelle explained, wide eye.
"Freya," Azcadelia mouthed.
"Exactly." Orcelle asked.
"Who is Freya?" Piper questioned.
"She's the healer in our family and your youngest child" Chris answered his mother.
"You have your sister locked up in some cage as well," Piper asked angerly.
"Mom," Chris started.
"Don't mom me," Piper yelled.
"Was that her? I mean, in the last door to the left?" Phoebe asked. "The girl with the ginger hair? Phoebe added.
"Ding ding ding…" Orcelle answered. "That Freya is a tough cookie. So once you have successfully convinced her to come home; then we have a deal."
"And why wouldn't she willing come home?" Piper asked.
"Now that aunty Piper is the correct question," Orcelle responded, rising up from the bench trailing off to the edge of the water. She looked back and smiled; jumping into the lake. Disappearing, never to return back for air.
