"What did you see?!" Kara insisted, when Wren still hadn't replied.

"There was a red coat in the back of the car. A coat that I recognized" Wren informed her, as Kara's forehead wrinkled.

"You mean the red coat? The one that Maya wore?" Kara suggested, watching Wren shake his head.

"No. There are things I haven't told you...about Tyler. I started looking into him the moment he arrived in Rosewood. I don't know, I guess I was curious as to why Dylan liked this guy so much. Why you did too…maybe I was jealous. But…Tyler was good at his job. Really good. Covered his tracks on everything. When I found out he had been killed I couldn't understand it. I figured he must have found something out, maybe even something about Bethany. But I couldn't find anything on his drives, his computer. So I went to his room. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I looked at the surveillance footage-" Wren began, but Kara cut him off.

"Surveillance footage? You mean the camera he hid outside his room?" Kara clarified as Wren looked at her surprised.

"You knew about that?" Wren frowned.

"Yeah, he told me about it. I guess he was worried something was going to happen to him" Kara mumbled.

"I searched through the footage leading up to his death. There was a blonde in a red coat who came to see him the night he was killed" Wren explained, making Kara frown.

"You're sure?" Kara asked, giving Wren a strange look.

"I remember every detail I saw in that video, it seemed strange that he would just let the person in" Wren went on.

"And it's definitely the same coat? So, what are we saying? That one of the girls followed him that night and shot him?" Kara gulped, as Wren nodded.

"Like I said, Tyler was good at hiding his tracks. I think the only way someone could have followed him was if they were physically watching him that night. It's too much of a coincidence" Wren insisted.

"Why didn't you tell me this before?" Kara inquired.

"When is the right time to tell someone something like that?" Wren pointed out, a hesitant tone in his voice.

"Well, is there anything else you want to tell me?" Kara asked as Wren squinted at her in confusion.

"You think I'm lying to you?" Wren inquired, as Kara shook her head.

"No. I mean, what reason would you have to lie, right?" Kara shrugged.

"Are you still going to leave town?" Wren questioned, as Kara mulled over the comment for a moment.

"Not without you" Kara replied.

"We're so close, Kara. We'll have our answers soon. I promise" Wren told her, as he pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.

"I hope so" Kara mumbled, as Wren pulled her into a tight hug.

Kara wrapped her arms around the small of his back, as she laid her head against his chest, her mind going a mile a minute. Wren was lying to her, but why? It scared her how effortlessly he could lie and made her wonder what else he was keeping from her. Wren loved her, she knew that, but in the end was it going to be enough?

"How do I know he's lying? Because I've seen that footage for myself, there was no red coat on it. So, either that means that he deleted the footage or…it never even happened. I just don't understand why he'd lie to me? And about Tyler of all things! If he's lied about this, then what else has he lied about-" Kara was cut off by a voice from beside her.

"You know when you said you were going to come to the gym with me, this wasn't exactly what I had in mind" Jason chuckled, lifting the weights by his feet.

"You really thought I was gonna' work out? The only thing I know how to run is my mouth, Jase" Kara stated, looking up at him from where she was sitting cross-legged on the gym floor.

"That's a good one. Were you planning that on the whole way here?" Jason suggested, as Kara shrugged.

"I'm a funny girl" Kara replied, making Jason laugh.

"I'm just saying, don't spiral about this. Maybe he has a good reason to be lying" Jason told her, as he continued pulling the weights towards his chest.

"I guess I should give him the benefit of the doubt, for now" Kara grumbled.

"I'm kind of surprised I'm the first one you went to about this" Jason admitted.

"Well, Mona wasn't answering her phone, Dylan's still in the dark about this so…" Kara trailed off.

"You make me feel so loved" Jason joked, putting the weights down.

"You seem strangely happy" Kara pointed out, as Jason picked up a nearby towel to wipe the sweat from his face.

"Finding out that Mr. Perfect isn't so…well perfect has been the highlight of my week" Jason grinned, making Kara roll her eyes.

"I never said he was perfect" Kara insisted.

"The guy looks like he just walked out of a catalogue, Kara" Jason retorted.

"Hey, you better not be going after my boyfriend! I remember when you were pulling your moves on my brother" Kara giggled, as Jason threw the sweaty towel at her.

"…How is Dylan?" Jason asked, as the smile fell from Kara's face.

"You miss him?" Kara questioned, as Jason nodded after a moment.

"You weren't the only person I lost back then" Jason shrugged, as he came to sit down next to her on the floor.

"He's confused as to why his wife and sister are avoiding him" Kara sighed.

"Maybe you should tell him. He has a right to know" Jason suggested, as Kara dropped her head into her hands.

"It would kill him to know Wren's been lying to him for all these years. And if he knew how long Mona and I knew…God, it's all such a mess" Kara mumbled, as Jason placed his arm over her shoulder.

"Hey, Dylan's your brother. He'd get over it" Jason insisted, rubbing her back lightly, as Kara looked up at him.

"Did you really try to contact me every week when I was in prison?" Kara inquired, as Jason slowly nodded, pulling his arm away.

"I wrote you a lot of letters, but they all got sent back. I tried showing up at the prison a few times, but they said you refused to see me" Jason explained.

"I swear I never knew" Kara admitted.

"Would you have seen me if you did?" Jason couldn't help but ask.

"Probably" Kara mumbled, with a small smile.

"Maybe we could…" Jason trailed off, as he heard his phone beep and took the device out of his pocket.

"What is it?" Kara frowned, when she saw the look on his face.

"It's time for you to be the 'get out of jail free' card. Get Ali out of Welby. You'll be well rewarded – A.D" Jason read aloud, making Kara scoff.

"Why does A.D want Ali out of Welby now? I thought making her lose her mind was what they wanted" Jason frowned.

"Maybe that's not enough for them anymore" Kara gulped.

"You think they want to kill her?" Jason realised, with wide eyes.

"I think A.D isn't like the other A's. They're gonna' do whatever they want, and they don't care about who they hurt on the way" Kara explained.

"Jesus, Hanna. You look terrible" Kara exclaimed, as the door to Lucas' apartment swung open to reveal the blonde's watery eyes and messy hair.

"What…what are you doing here?" Hanna sniffled, stepping back to let Kara in.

"Mona told me about your little roadkill problem. I'm here to help" Kara announced, as Hanna gaped at her.

"She told you?!" Hanna exclaimed as Kara tried not to roll her eyes.

"We're best friends. What she knows, I know" Kara shrugged, as Hanna looked down at her shoes.

"I guess we were like that once" Hanna mumbled.

"Maybe we'll be like that again one day…So, are you going to tell me what happened?" Kara asked, walking over to sit on Hanna's couch.

"It all just happened so fast, I never saw him coming and then…then it was too late" Hanna sighed, sitting next to Kara.

"How fast were you going though? Mona said Rollins broke through the windshield" Kara stated, as Hanna looked uncomfortable.

"I…I'm not sure…" Hanna trailed off, obviously hiding something.

"What is it, Han? You can tell me" Kara insisted, placing her hand over the blonde's.

"I…I got the pedals messed up. I accelerated instead of breaking. I…I don't know why…" Hanna stuttered, biting her fingernails.

"You got confused. It's understandable" Kara shrugged, as Hanna shook her head vehemently.

"I keep telling myself it was an accident. A horrible accident but…what if it wasn't? What if I wanted to hit him?" Hanna questioned.

"You're not a monster, Hanna" Kara told her, as a tear dropped down Hanna's cheek.

"I keep remembering more and more. Flashes of…of the blood, the noise…it's all jumbled together" Hanna muttered.

"What do you mean?" Kara inquired, finding her choice of words strange.

"I've been having these nightmares about the crash except…they're not of now. They're from when I was younger. I feel like…maybe yesterday wasn't the first time I hit someone with a car" Hanna confessed, as Kara stayed quiet for a moment.

"Are you sure you're not just getting things messed up with when Mona hit you?" Kara suggested.

"No. It wasn't me getting hit. It was someone else…a girl…I can't see her face. Every time I try to remember more, it's like it just gets further away. I feel like I'm going mad" Hanna sobbed.

"Maybe this is the clearest your mind has ever been, Han. Do you remember anything else? Who was in the car with you?" Kara insisted.

"There was someone in the passenger seat…a girl I think, God, I don't know…all I keep hearing is the screams but it's me. I'm the one screaming" Hanna cried, tears now dripping down her cheeks.

"It's okay. It's okay, you don't need to tell me anything else. Just breathe" Kara tried to soothe her, as she wrapped her arm around Hanna's shoulder.

"I'm glad Mona told you. I'm glad your back" Hanna mumbled, as she leaned against Kara.

"So am I" Kara replied, as she wasn't sure what else to say.

The next day, Kara was walking towards the Dilaurentis house, knowing Jason would be driving Alison back from Welby any moment. She needed to figure out if Alison remembered what she had said to her in Welby. Ali was smart and a good liar. Would Kara even be able to tell?

"Hey, you here to see Ali too?" Aria questioned, as she waved towards Kara.

"Yeah, I think we need to keep a close eye on her. Make sure she's not seeing ghosts anymore" Kara pointed out, as Aria nodded.

"I heard Mary Drake is with them too" Aria informed her, as Kara looked at her dumbfounded.

"Yeah, that was what I thought too. Supposedly she wants to make things right" Aria explained, as Kara let out a huff.

"Right, I think she might find it hard to find a card saying 'Sorry I helped send you to a mental institution'" Kara mumbled, making Aria laugh.

"You've not changed a bit" Aria giggled.

"Oh, you'd be surprised…what's with the casserole?" Kara inquired, looking down at the dish in Aria's hands.

"I feel terrible for thinking Ali was capable of murder. I guess I'm trying to find a way to say sorry" Aria sighed.

"You got one for Hanna too?" Kara asked, as Aria frowned at her.

"I know. About you and Caleb" Kara clarified, watching Aria's face morph into horror.

"It…it was a long time ago. A mistake…" Aria stuttered, as Kara held her hand up to stop her babbling.

"I'm not going to tell her…or Spencer for that matter. I don't want to send you off the deep end" Kara stated, as Aria's frown deepened.

"Okay, now you've lost me" Aria told her.

"Why did you never tell me when I first came to Rosewood how bad your mental health was? Maybe I could have helped" Kara went on.

"Kara, I have no idea what you're talking about" Aria stated.

"I know you had anxiety back in high school. Pretty bad by the sounds of it" Kara replied.

"Where did you-" Aria was cut off by a car horn, as they watched Jason's car pull up in front of them.

"Hey" Jason announced, his eyes on Kara alone, who waved at him, as he opened the door for Alison.

"Hi, we tried to get you out" Aria exclaimed, watching Ali slowly exit the car, taking in a deep breath of the fresh air around her.

"I know. It's okay" Alison replied.

"So, you're all better now?" Kara asked, as Alison scoffed lightly.

"I don't know about that, but I'm not hallucinating anymore if that's what you mean" Alison replied.

"Oh, Aria. A casserole? What a lovely gesture. Thank you" Mary Drake smiled, appearing out of nowhere, as she took the dish from Aria's hands.

"Mary! Wow, how nice to see you again. I haven't seen you since Hanna got kidnapped" Kara announced.

"What a horrible business that all was" Mary replied.

"Just awful. Do you mind if I have a talk with your niece? In private? As in with you not here?" Kara insisted when she saw Mary wasn't going away.

"Don't be too long. Alison is very tired. She needs her rest" Mary suggested, as Kara smiled at her sweetly.

"If you're going to tell me I can't trust her, I already know that" Alison mumbled, once Mary was out of hearing distance.

"Aren't you worried she might kill you in your sleep?" Kara asked.

"The worlds a big scary place. You can't trust anyone these days" Alison pointed out, a suspicious tone in her voice.

"Did something happen in Welby?" Kara inquired, trying to keep her expression neutral.

"You mean apart from my husband trying to kill me?" Alison scoffed, as Kara nodded.

"Do you remember anything else about Bethany?" Alison asked, as Kara kept her face impassive.

"Not really. Sometimes I have weird dreams about her, but that's it really. Why'd you ask?" Kara lied.

"…It's nothing. Just some dream I had too" Alison shrugged.

"I think your dear Aunt is going to drag you inside in a minute, you better go" Kara advised, as she looked up at Mary's impatient expression.

"Thanks for coming" Alison stated, as she and Aria walked towards the Dilaurentis house.

"…So, does she know anything?" Jason whispered, as he walked up to Kara.

"I don't think so. But she's sly. She might be playing me" Kara mumbled.

"Sounds like Ali" Jason mumbled.

Before Kara could reply Jason's car suddenly became bleeping, as they realised the passenger door was now wide open. In the short minute that they had their backs turned, someone must have snuck into the car, and disappeared just as quickly. Cautiously, the pair approached the vehicle, confused when they saw there was now a duffel bag on the front seat. Kara reached out to zip open the bag, but Jason's hand shot out to stop her.

"What if it's dangerous? Like a bomb!" Jason exclaimed, wrapping his hand around her wrist.

"Well, at least we'll go out with a bang if it is" Kara grinned, as Jason shook his head fondly.

"I hate you sometimes" Jason chuckled, as he let go of her wrist.

"No, you don't" Kara smirked, as she reached down to open the bag.

Her jaw almost dropped to the floor when she saw the contents inside and turned to Jason with wide eyes. The bag was filled to the brim with money, more than Kara had ever seen in her whole life.

"I guess A.D wasn't lying when they said you'd be well rewarded" Kara mumbled.

"There must be almost $400,000 in here" Jason gaped, after they had finished counting through the notes.

"I guess this was never about Ali's 'get out of jail free' card. It was yours. You could leave all this behind with this kind of cash" Kara realised.

"But where did they get all this money? And why give it to me?" Jason questioned.

"It must be Ali's. From her bank accounts, safety deposit boxes…all of it. They've bled her dry" Kara suggested.

"I don't need all of this. I mean I've been a little strapped for cash with all the oversea volunteering I've been doing but this is too much…I think you should have it" Jason suggested.

"I could start a new life with a small amount of this money. We should split it. Between all of us in the A team. So everyone has an out if and when they need it" Kara explained, as Jason nodded.

"Maybe now is the time. Maybe we should go. Hit the road and leave all of this behind?" Jason theorized.

"Just me and you?" Kara questioned.

"We always said we wanted to go on a road trip" Jason pointed out, as Kara chuckled lightly.

"Wren was right about one thing. We're close now to finding out the truth. What happened to Bethany, Tyler, who A.D is…I don't think I could live with myself letting this all go now" Kara told him.

"Rain check?" Jason suggested, as Kara nodded with a smile.

"I better go. No rest for the wicked" Kara announced, a moment later, as she pushed the car door open.

She stopped herself just as she was about to jump out of the car, needing to say something before she chickened out.

"I forgive you" She announced, as Jason turned to her in confusion.

"For what happened with us. You hurt me, a lot. But…your heart was always in the right place. I can see that now" Kara went on, as Jason's eyes softened.

"Thank you" Jason smiled, as the pair shared a look for a moment.

It felt like a weight was being lifted off both their shoulders, as Kara wondered whether one day they would be able to go back to being as close as they once were. Or if they even should be.

Things were tense that evening between Wren and Kara, as they decided to go down to the bar in the Radley. Kara hoped that some alcohol would calm her nerves, and even loosen Wren's tongue to the point where he would tell her the truth. Neither were expecting to see two familiar faces at the bar, acting as thick as thieves as they sipped on their drinks.

"Well, would you look what the cat dragged in. Jenna Marshall" Kara announced, as she sauntered over to the blind girl.

"Kara Dixon? I guess it really is a school reunion now" Jenna grinned, as she turned in her chair.

Kara was distracted as the blonde who was sitting beside Jenna almost fell out of her chair when she saw Wren. The girl was clearly desperate to run away, her hands gripping onto the corner of the bar table.

"Hello Sara" Wren greeted, as Kara could see the girl was almost shaking with fear now.

"Wren? I heard you two were a thing, but I wasn't sure if it was true. I'd never have pictured you two together" Jenna explained.

"You're one to talk Jenna. Since when are you and the blondie friends?" Kara inquired, not even bothering to look at Sara Harvey.

"We just met. But we're realizing just how much we have in common. I hear we do now too. The girls ruined your life" Jenna pointed out.

"We're working things out" Kara shrugged, making Jenna scoff.

"If there is one thing, I know about you, Kara…it's that you don't forgive" Jenna insisted, making Kara frown.

"What brings you to town?" Kara asked.

"Toby's wedding" Jenna replied, as Kara crossed her arms and shared a look with Wren.

"Now who's lying?" Kara huffed.

"You've certainly chosen quite the time to return, Jenna. Have you heard about Alison's husband?" Wren questioned, as Jenna tried her best to look emphatic.

"Poor Alison. Finding out that your husband has been manipulating you from the beginning, stealing your money…just terrible" Jenna sighed.

"That's strange…The police haven't announced that Rollins has stolen Ali's money yet, have they, Wren?" Kara smirked, looking to her boyfriend.

"No, Kara, they haven't. So how would you know about that, Jenna?" Wren accused.

"I have my contacts. Not that it's any of your business" Jenna retorted, an angry look on her face, not liking that she had been caught out.

"Now, mind your blood pressure, Jenna. It can be dangerous in a woman of your age" Wren advised her, with a smug smile.

The pair went to walk past Jenna, but Kara stopped beside the blind girl and placed a hand on her shoulder, leaning down to whisper in her ear.

"Rollin's is dead, by the way. A.D only keeps the best around" Kara stated, in a hushed voice, as Jenna's head whipped to the side.

"You…you know about A.D?" Jenna gaped.

"We've been waiting for you to turn up. We knew that you were working with Rollins. A.D knows everything" Kara warned, as she stepped away.

"It was nice to see you again, Sara" Wren waved to the blonde, who looked away quickly.

Kara couldn't help but wonder if there was more to the story between Wren and Sara. He told her that he had kidnapped Sara and kept her locked up for three days to get the necessary information to get Kara released from prison. But what did he do to her down there? Wren's past was getting murkier by the second. Kara shook the thoughts out of her head, remembering the only reason Wren did what he did was her for her. He loved her, that should have been enough to stop any concerns she had.

"Kara, your phone's ringing" Wren stated, as they walked to the other end of the bar.

Kara frowned as she picked up the phone to see Mona was calling her. She had left town to speak to her ex, Mike Montgomery, to try to find out more about Aria's past. Kara hadn't been expecting a call from her friend so quickly.

"Hey, did you meet up with Mike?" Kara inquired, picking up the call.

"Yeah, he was very helpful to say the least" Mona replied, her voice muffled by the music and talking around Kara.

"You're gonna' have to speak up. I'm at the Radley bar. What did you find out?" Kara asked, placing her hand against her other ear to drown out the sound.

"The Montgomery's never went to Iceland" Mona informed her, as Kara's forehead wrinkled in confusion.

"What? Then where the hell was Aria for a year?" Kara insisted.

"Right where you're standing now. Aria was sent to Radley Sanitarium" Mona told her, as Kara's eyes widened, looking around her surroundings in shock.

Author's Notes: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! Damn, there were a lot of bombshells in this chapter. What is everyone lying about and why do some people not even seem to remember their past? Please leave a review:)

aldupotterbing: I love a good innuendo, haha. A.D is definitely one step ahead of everyone, even Kara. Thanks for reviewing:)

Ineveryfandom: Don't worry, lots more of interactions between Kara and A.D coming soon. They both have a healthy amount of respect for each other I think. Thanks for the review:)

Purplestan: Kara is far from perfect, I really didn't want her to be Mary Sue. She's a very flawed character and sometimes does things that we don't like. I do think the girls have been absolutely awful to her, so it's understandable that she holds a grudge against them. This story will explore whether reality will hit her at some point and she'll realise that what's she has been doing is wrong. There certainly might be a baby near the end of this story, but who knows. Jason is winning in the polls at the moment!

Nicole Beverley234: We'll be finding out more about Aria's past soon, don't worry! I think A.D is a bit of a sociopath from what we know so far, haha. Thank you for the review:)

NotRob: We can see in this chapter that Wren is defintely lying about something, but the question is will it be enough to break him and Kara up. Lots more Jason/Kara to come soon! Thanks for reviewing:)
