Marian's point of view
"Please don't go"
I muttered against his sweet lips.
"You know I must"
He muttered back.
Well that's not entirely true.
"Just stay here and never go back to work again"
He pulled away and stood to his feet.
I wasn't joking but then that was a conversation for another time.
"If I don't leave now.."
I looked up at him.
"..I guarantee the loss of our functioning..legs."
He only turned his head towards me just enough for me to see his playful wink.
Before leaving the room completely.
I sank back into the bed blushing.
Surprisingly it took me a long while to get out of bed and dress for the day.
After all what was I to do ?
"M'lady?"
A soft voice spoke from behind the door.
Only three people knew I was here and two of them were male.
It must be the maid from last night.
Quickly I opened the door and let her inside.
Closing the door behind her.
"I thought you could do with some company m'lady?"
"Please call me Marian"
"Really?"
She genuinely looked surprised at this.
I gave her a friendly smile and nodded a little.
"Of course"
The look of surprise still remained.
We stood in silence for a few seconds until she finally spoke.
"..I'm..Lucy…"
"It's nice to meet you..again."
I said with a smile and she replied the same.
After that we both sat down on the bed and continued talking.
Opening up a little at a time.
Not about anything serious but little things.
Honestly I was glad for the company.
Anything to take my mind off Guy and his steamy caresses was very much welcome right now.
It seemed her eyes had caught sight of my ring.
My engagement ring.
Did she know ?
'It's not a secret'
For now it is.
'Don't hide your love'
I….
I guess for now…
"Lucy?"
I muttered a few times for her to snap out of constant stare at my ring.
"I'm sorry m-Marian"
"Don't apologize Lucy,
is everything alright ?"
She smiled a little and looked down.
Something was clearly wrong.
"What's wrong ?"
"Is it wrong to love someone you shouldn't ?"
…
"Someone..bad"
'No'
…
Well as long as it's not the sheriff.
'It could be'
…
"Can you answer one thing for me Lucy? Truthfully"
Her gaze was still locked onto the floor but she gave a small nod.
Properly bracing herself for whatever my question was going to be.
"Please tell me you are not in love with the sheriff ?"
Straight away she burst into laughter.
"No way,
I'm in love not looney"
Relief was spread across my face to then form a smile.
"Just had to make sure that's all.
Honestly I wouldn't of known what to say if you said the sheriff"
Lucy looked back up at me and said.
"I feel sick with the thought"
We both do.
"I..only ask.."
"Because of Guy and I ?"
She nodded.
Is it wrong ?
'No'
How do I answer this ?
'Simply'
…
'She is in the same position as you'
"With Guy and I…"
Where do I begin ?
'Just keep it simple'
I sighed a little
"It's not wrong to fall in love.
Sister Mary once told me that you can not help who you love.
It's your hearts choosing.
For the heart wants what it wants."
Each day in the abbey I would hear these words of wisdom.
Oddly it didn't bother me.
Hearing the same thing uttered to you each and every day.
"Even if this person worked for the sheriff ?"
I gave her a look
'Really?'
"I know and no before you ask it's not Sir Guy"
"I was not going to"
Which I wasn't.
"It's Alan"
Alright.
Did not see that coming.
The door opened as I said
"Good old Alan a'Dale ?"
"Oi less of the old and more of the good."
He said while stepping into the room.
"In fact I shall go back out and come back in again.
You shall say 'the most charming and handsome Sir Alan a'Dale'"
He indeed followed his word of going out and coming back in again.
With his hands on his hips and smug look on his face.
Wanting to hear his description of himself.
Only for Lucy to say something different.
"The one and only cheeky trickster Alan a'Dale."
Hearing her introduction he gave her a cheeky wink and lowered his hands from his hips.
"I guess that would have to do…for now.
You know you really need to work on that"
Lucy smiled and hurried over to him.
They kissed each other not caring that I was even in the room.
I turned my face away to give them a little privacy at least.
I couldn't exactly leave when they were standing by the door.
Then again I couldn't leave anyway.
"I know I'm irresistible but you must stop before she decides she wants some of me herself."
My attention turned back to them.
They were still in each other's arms.
It was sweet really,
I never thought Alan would be the romantic type.
"Why don't you say it in front of Guy ?"
I said with a grin on my face.
"Because I'm not that big of a fool.
Besides I wouldn't want to deny Lucy the joy of seeing my handsome unmarked face."
She just smiled at him.
Is that what I look like when I'm with Guy ?
'Yes'
Tonight could not come soon enough.
