Chapter 16: WHAT!?
Two months had gone by and many things had happened to class 1-A. On one of their many practical training sessions, they had been taken to work with Space Hero: Thirteen to learn search and rescue techniques, but their session was soon cut short due to the League of Villains attacking.
No one understood how they had known the students would be there that day, but it happened. Many of the students were gravely injured, as were Aizawa sensei and Thirteen. The villains had proven to be too much for the pro heroes present that day.
The League had brought along some major muscle, they called it: Nomu. From what they gathered that day, it was designed and created to stand up against All Might.
Their worlds had been rattled that day, the image of their sensei barely clinging on to life as Nomu smashed his face into the ground was engraved into their skulls. He had given it his all for his students, even if that meant his life, but his students were grateful it didn't get to that point.
After witnessing the lengths Shota Aizawa went to for them to be safe, they learned to appreciate their sensei in a way like never before, they learned to appreciate what it meant to be a hero, that's when they understood what Thirteen had told them when they arrived: 'Your powers are not meant to inflict harm. I hope you leave here today with the understanding that you're meant to help people.'
Our little green hero didn't make it out unscathed, though not as badly injured as his teachers, he still needed to be carried out of there with the help of his boyfriend.
Todoroki had nearly burned the building down when he arrived at the scene. There stood Nomu holding a limp and bleeding Izuku three feet above the ground, ready to smash his fist into the boy's bloodied face.
Despite his outburst, his flames did nothing to save the boy he loved, they only seemed to worsen the situation as he was endangering everyone around them, including Izuku.
He knew he couldn't control it, so couldn't understand why he'd even let them lose. It's just that the sight of Izuku hanging there, seemingly lifeless, had triggered something in him and all hell broke loose.
Before anyone knew what was going on, scorching waves of flames were enveloping the area, circling around them as they burned everything in their path as Shoto screamed at the beast to release his boyfriend. Too caught up in his emotions, rather than doing something about it, he just let the flames consume him.
When Katsuki arrived immediately after Todoroki, he had noticed the icyhot bastard just standing there, frozen on spot as he screamed his heart out. He then took in the sight of the boy he loved in Nomu's hands, barely breathing as the beast pulled it's arm up to shield them from the fire.
The blond acted instantly, with two quick explosions from his hands, he made it to Nomu. It took one hand to grab Deku by his hero costume while the other was aimed at Nomu and he let out the biggest explosion he could.
The energy released from his hand was enough to push him away from Nomu and pull out the boy from his grasp whilst it also sent the beast blasting into a wall behind it.
As he landed on the ground, he held on tight to Izuku so as not to let anymore harm come to the boy.
Seeing as how the blond had managed to get Izuku away from the beastly creature, his raging heart immediately calmed down and his flames disappeared.
He wasn't the one to save the boy and he still blamed his stupidity at how he had frozen up and then just burst, not doing anything to help his boyfriend.
Todoroki would never say it, but he was grateful for Katsuki's heroic actions that day, as they covered for his mistake. He'd never say it because that would mean accepting his mistake, and his father hadn't raised a failure, he'd raised perfection.
This was something that was silently burrowing its way into Shoto's mind as the days had gone by, it would sit there and slowly fester into something neither he nor Izuku were prepared for.
Other than that, they had been going steady for about two months now and their relationship was slowly progressing. They would find themselves searching for the others gaze during class, or their hands would silently meet under the tables at lunch.
Sometimes, they'd sneak off to the bathrooms or hide under the gym bleachers to make out, and then they would sneak back into the group slightly dazed.
Still, no one knew they were a couple, not even their best friend Uraraka, but they preferred it that way, not wanting to draw too much attention to themselves and their relationship. They were happy, Izuku was happy.
They'd also been going on dates during the weekends. They went to the movie theater, which would quickly turn into a make out session with both boys in the bathrooms, the movie long forgotten.
Other days they went to the park and cuddled all afternoon as they talked about their pasts and the plans they had for the future. On one occasion, Izuku had decided to confide his past in Shoto, he was happy he could share such a hard part of his life with someone else, it felt liberating.
On other occasions, they also went to the beach several times and to the fair that was held there. Shoto had allowed Izuku to win most of the games, enjoying the way the boy would cheer and tease him after each victory.
Things were going well, not only for them, but for the blond teen too. Life had been going a lot smoother since he had that talk with his mom.
As before, he had noticed all the things going on between the Deku and peppermint bastard, minus the smooching around, he'd only see them sneaking off.
Though Katsuki wasn't happy they were getting along so well, he was glad that the nerd was genuinely happy. The smile on the boy's face was all Katsuki needed to feel at ease, even if he wasn't the one causing it.
Other than that, he was slowly but surely making his way back into the nerd's life with the small actions he did. After the incident with the League of Villains, the nerd had somehow found out that Katsuki had been the one to save him.
He'd still think about the day the nerd had come up to him and thanked him, smiling that stupid smile he loved so much.
"Kacchan! Wait!" yelled the small green-eyed teen as he ran up to his friend.
Stopping to wait for the nerd, he simply looked at him, waiting to go on.
"I wanted to thank you," he said as he got closer to the blond, catching his breath, "Uraraka told me it was you that saved me from Nomu."
"Don't worry about it, I'd do it again if necessary." He said. As he was about to turn around and go on his way, he felt two small arms wrap around him and the voice of the smaller boy as he whispered into his chest.
"Thank you, Kacchan." He mumbled against the boy, "I wouldn't be here if it weren't for your heroic actions." And as quickly as it had begun, it ended, but not before he saw that beautiful smile he had learned to love on the smaller boys face. He was a sucker for that smile, he had to admit it.
So, as one may imagine, that day was had been a great day for the great Katsuki Bakugo. He'd gotten the boy to hug him. Though he never intended the nerd to find out it was him that had helped him, he'd have to thank round face some day for letting him know.
On other matters, Katsuki's late night showers had only gotten later and longer, as he allowed himself to indulge in the pleasure his mind and hands provided him with, though his imagination never took it any farther than a few heated kisses and the occasional groping. He was letting his mind run free and it was rewarding him.
Close to the end of those two months, they had been sent to the Quirk Training Camp along with Class 1-B to develop their quirks under the supervision of the pro heroes The Wild, Wild Pussycats.
Things had been going just fine for the group, other than the fact that they were being pushed passed their limits all day, every day. But good things usually don't last forever.
During their fourth night at camp, they had been obliged to participate in a mini game their teachers had called 'the test of courage', which consisted in one class hiding in the forest to try and scare the other class as they made their way through it in pairs searching for their nametags.
It wasn't long after the mini game had commenced when The Vanguard Action Squad invaded the training camp and wreaked havoc amongst the students and teachers alike. Just like their first encounters with villains not too long ago, they weren't prepared for this one either.
More than half of camps occupants had been rushed urgently to the hospital nearby, young Izuku included. He'd gone all out against Muscular, a huge villain capable of exponentially increasing his physical strength with the help of his quirk, muscle augmentation.
During his fight with Muscular, he'd completely shattered every bone in his right arm along with his ligaments, but he'd saved his friends. That's what counted for him.
Once again, he'd been carried out of there on his boyfriend's back, much to Katsuki's distress after having offered to do the job. Todoroki had simply picked up his boyfriend and dragged him back to camp.
After the second villain attack, due to his wounds, Izuku had been excused from school for a few days where he spent most of the day alone thinking about the explosive blond.
They'd been getting along much better lately. It was weird at first, but Izuku couldn't help but feel like they were getting back to what they were when they were kids.
He began observing as each day the blond would do something new to help him out or make him smile. He was still grateful about the incident with Nomu, he'd never be able to pay the boy back for that, he'd been a hero that day.
So, he simply let the blond continue on this new path he had chosen and enjoyed the happiness it brought him. Hell, he was even relaxed around the boy now. He didn't feel like he would get yelled at him or blown up anymore. Katsuki was quickly making progress with him and Midoriya was letting it happen.
What he didn't notice was how the feelings he had once drowned away for the blond were resurfacing. They were slowly wrapping around his heart, giving him little tugs here and there whenever the blond was near him. He didn't notice it, but it was happening.
Now, as the end of the term was almost upon them with winter right around the corner, they had been working nonstop on their 'signature moves' as All Might had called them. Aizawa sensei had signed them up to take the provisional hero license exam, and they needed to be top notch to defeat the competition.
Day and night, class 1-A worked way beyond their limits, wanting to become the best, wanting to be of help the next time a villain attacked. They would look upon their sensei, still bandaged from the waist up and couldn't help but blame themselves.
Izuku had continued training on his own with All Might, perfecting the technique they had once commenced, Full Cowl: Shoot Style, which consisted in him utilizing his feet instead of his fist as All Might did.
Recovery Girl had warned him after his fight with Muscular, that if he continued to destroy his body day after day, there would soon come a day when she would no longer be able to heal him. He didn't want to burden her anymore and he definitely didn't want to become useless again, not now that Katsuki had finally deemed to recognize him and his strength.
Their provisional hero license exam had come and go, rewarding everyone in class 1-A's efforts with their license. Everyone except a certain green-haired boys boyfriend, Shoto Todoroki.
He had let his emotions get the better of him during the final exam and it had cost him gravely. Because of his mistake, Izuku had gotten hurt and the 'villains' had been able to gain control right as the timer went off signaling the end of the test.
It had been a hard blow for Shoto, and he wasn't coping as well as he'd like. For the past two days he'd been ignoring Izuku in school, having told the boy he wanted to be alone.
When Endeavor, his father, had found out, he'd gone wild. He'd nearly beaten Shoto that day, stopping only to consider his reputation as hero.
It was hard for little Izuku, but he tried to understand his boyfriend. He needed space and he was trying to give it to him, but he wanted so badly to comfort the boy, to hold him and kiss him, to reassure him that he'd get his license the next time around, but Shoto wouldn't let him in.
During the week that they had been recognized with their provisional hero license, Yaoyorozu and Kirishima had announced they would be hosting a party that Saturday to celebrate their newest accomplishment and that all were obliged to assist.
Considering it was still Friday, Izuku still had time to pick out his outfit and try to convince his boyfriend to accompany him. He didn't want to go alone, though his friends would all be there with him, he just wanted Shoto to go and distract himself.
Going through the things in his closet, he heard his mom calling him from the living room, so he made his way down to see what she wanted.
As soon as he got there, he was met with the sight of his mother and Mrs. Bakugo sitting in the living room together talking about 'some spa'. "Mrs. Bakugo, it's so good to see you." He greeted, slightly bowing in front of the blonde lady.
Getting up from the couch, she hugged the boy and squeezed his cheek, "Little Izu! I've told you so many times before to call me Aunty or Mitsu. Mrs. Bakugo makes me feel so old." She said teasing the boy.
"I'm sorry Mrs. B-…Aunty," he said to the blonde, "mom, did you need me?" he asked his mom turning to face her.
"Yes hun," answered Inko, "I wanted to let you know that I will be leaving with Mitsuki and her husband in about an hour."
"WHAT!? Where to?" he asked rather astonished.
"Well, I forgot to tell you, considering I've barely seen you these past two months with you training all the time," she explained to her son, "but as I said, we're going to a spa for a week. Momma needs this vacation, and the Bakugos have invited me along."
'Nice! I get the house for a whole week.' Thought Izuku already imagining all the things he'd be able to do, 'I could ask Shoto to come spend the night.' He quickly recovered from his initial shock and took his moms hand in his, "Mom, that's great! I'm happy you're getting a few days off." He said as he pressed her hand tightly in his, "I guess I can take care of the hut for a few days while you're out."
Happy her son was ok with the idea, she cringed a little as she spoke, "About that, yo-" she was cut off by the older blonde before she could finish.
"You'll be staying at my house with my brat." Stated Mitsuki, she had planned this all along, she'd help her boy out even if she played dirty.
"WHAT!?" was all he could say as he stared on at the two women in front of him.
