Coming from upstream, the inflatable boat was moving towards the position indicated by those who had spotted the raptors.
At its prow, Darbinian stood with a spotlight in hand.
She began to see a long shape, which emerged from the jungle on her left to span over the river and join the jungle on the other bank.
She scanned the surroundings with the spotlight, illuminating the monorail's pillars in the process, and passing under it, they arrived in sight of the stopped inflatable boat and of its spotlights directed towards the northern bank.
"There!" Darbinian said once she saw the neoraptors.
There were only three individuals, all iroquoii females.
They stood at the edge of the water and instead of retreating in the vegetation at the approach of the inflatable boats, they just curiously looked at them.
The guards stopped at a respectable distance, watching the dinosaurs with a hand close to their weapons, knowing very well that they could swim to them.
The neoraptors barked at them, as if to attract more their attention, and that for long moments, wearing out one of the guards' nerves.
"Shut up!" He yelled at them.
But they did not stop and even began to hop on the spot while looking at the guards with a mischievous attitude.
"They're taunting us...," Darbinian observed. "Stay alert."

A kilometre further east, among the mangroves, the Indominus clearly heard the neoraptors' calls as she moved between the trees and their large submerged roots.
The water became deeper and deeper and she left the labyrinth of mangroves soon enough, reaching the sound.
She headed towards its beginning but found it guarded by a inflatable boat.
On board of it, guards were on the lookout, scanning the northern bank and the water with their spotlights.
Arriving at the edge of the beams range, the Indominus dived silently and concealed by the underwater darkness, she passed under the boat itself before continuing and reaching the ocean, skirting the East Docks and surfacing only once the boat was far enough behind her.
On her right, she saw the beach at the foot of the ridge as well as the marina, the ferry terminal and the four gigantic catamarans that were moored there.
As the waves were tossing her a little too much, she swam to a spot were the waters were calmer and from there, she made some infrasound.

When the neoraptors heard those, they stopped taunting the guards and moved away from the bank, disappearing in the jungle and letting the guards believe that they had grown tired of this game.
"Ah finally! I was about to gun them down," one of Darbinian's companions said.
"Control, can you give us the position of the other raptors and the proceratosaurs?" Darbinian asked, suspicious.
To prevent the park from being totally paralyzed, the most vital installations had been equipped with auxiliary generators that could be started if the power supply system were to be seriously damaged or the geothermal power plant to be compromised.
Thus, the technicians were able to restart the control room systems and they would have been able to follow the animals thanks to their implants in other circumstances.
"The ash cloud prevents the reception of the satellite signal. Sorry but we don't know where they are," Harriman replied.
"What?! Oh, it cannot be true!" She exclaimed before swearing in Russian. "They can be anywhere now!"
Yu's voice was heard on the radio.
"Nataliya, keep an eye on the jungle. We shall gather a group of scouts that will go on the other bank and look for their tracks. We must know where they are."
