"Are you guys sure you can both function without me for the week?" Whitley said packing her one of many suitcases.

Whitley was going to stay with her father for the next week since he needed some help around the house. Whitley was glad to help and besides she had a few vacations day and she was happy to use them.

"Yes." Brielle said.

"Pookie?" Whitley said as she stopped packing.

"Ugh fine I guess." Dwayne said pouting.

"Aww Dwayne it's not going to be that bad." Whitley said.

"Yes it is." He said. "How am I going to sleep without my Bunny next to me."

Whitley stopped packing and walked over to Dwayne.

"Just fine." She said giving Dwayne a kiss on the cheek. "We can call each other every night before we go to sleep."

Dwayne stopped pouting.

"Fine I guess it won't be so bad." He said.

"See." Whitley said and she continued to pack.

About an hour later Dwayne and Brielle dropped Whitley off at the airport.

"You sure you're going to be fine staying here by yourself until your flight comes?" Dwayne asked Whitley.

"Yes Dwayne my flight comes in an hour I can keep myself occupied until then." Whitley said.

"Well." Dwayne said. "I guess this is goodbye."

"Oh Pookie you make it seem like I'm going off to war I'll be back next weekend." Whitley said.

"Don't remind me how long you're going to be gone." Dwayne said and Him and Whitley started to kiss and they got a little too carried a way.

"Mom, dad this is a public setting." Brielle said and Whitley and Dwayne quickly separated.

"That makes up for me not being able to see you this week." Whitley said.

Dwayne smiled.

"Go baby before you miss your flight." He said.

Whitley smiled and then gave Brielle a hug.

"Mommy will miss you baby." She said.

"And I'll miss you too now go mom." Brielle said.

Whitley group hugged her family and then walked inside the airport.

The rest of the day was pretty chill for Dwayne and Brielle. Once Brielle got home she took a nap and Dwayne graded some papers.

Once Brielle got up though she walked into the living room and saw Dwayne watching a movie.

"You know now that mom isn't home we can order our favorite." Brielle said.

"Broccoli pizza." Dwayne said. "I forgot about that."

"We can also play all the videogames we want." Brielle told Dwayne and Dwayne smiled.

"Yes we can without hearing 'what's the point of this game'" Dwayne said.

"Or don't forget moms favorite 'this is stupid you both can be doing something better than this like recycling'" Brielle said and her and Dwayne laughed.

"Is it bad that we're talking about mom behind her back like this?" Brielle asked.

Dwayne paused for a minute.

"Nah we're good." He said.

After eating a large broccoli and cheese pizza and playing 6 rounds of Mario kart, Brielle and Dwayne were on the couch watching Crooklyn.

"Dad?"

"Yes baby."

"Are you scared that I'm growing up." Brielle said.

"A little bit." Dwayne said. "Why?"

"Because I'm scared." Brielle said.

"And why is that?" Dwayne asked.

"I don't know growing up is just scary a little bit one minute I'm playing with dolls and the next I'm shopping with mom for my first bra. I'm gonna be in middle school next year and then highschool and then college." Brielle said "it's just all going by so fast."

Dwayne hugged Brielle closer to him.

"Baby I know how you feel." Dwayne said. "But there's one thing I learned and it stills helps me to this day."

"What?" Brielle asked.

"To take one day at a time." Dwayne answered. "Sometimes things do seem like they're going by fast but everything is going to be just fine."

Brielle sighed.

"Thanks dad." She said.

"You're welcome." Dwayne said. "Anything else you want to talk about?"

"Not really." Brielle said. "But I'm glad we got to talk today we don't usually do that."

"No problem Brielle you're my daughter I'm glad we get to have talks like this." Dwayne said.

"Now that we're through with talking shall we get back into the movie?" Brielle asked.

"We shall." Dwayne said clicking play on the movie.

Later on that night Dwayne was talking to Whitley on the phone.

"Me and Brielle had a little talk about growing up today." Dwayne told Whitley.

"Oh really why?" Whitley asked.

"She said she was scared to grow up." Dwayne said.

"Why is she scared to grow up?" Whitley asked.

"Things are going to fast for her I don't know Whit I'm not really a girl so I can't relate." Dwayne told Whitley. "But I did tell her to take one day at a time."

"That's the best advice you could ever give somebody." Whitley said.

"I'm glad we got to have a little talk to talk we don't have that often." Dwayne said.

"See maybe it's a good thing that I'm gone you're bonding with Brielle more." Whitley said.

"Oh hush I miss you like crazy." Dwayne said.

"And I miss you too." Whitley said. "But Dwayne it's late and I'm not going to run up my phone bill."

"I love you bunny." Dwayne said.

"And I love you too Pookie." Whitley said and with that the call ended.
