Author notes:
Hello, everyone!
Another Monday...yay :V
So yeah, new chapter now =P
So last chapter not much happened...well, actually it did. Alan is starting to guess himself, the girls are slowly admiting they like him, they now have a portal system to go back to places they have known, and planted a seed crystal in the wind temple. So much for a 'chill' chapter.
Well then, now, lets continue. Please leave a review or what you think of the fanfic, either in here, or in dA/Twitter when you find the status post. It will help me to know if I'm doing good or not.
So, for this chapter's soundtrack:
-Blue Fields (Final Fantasy 8 Soundtrack)-
-Linebeck's Theme (The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Soundtrack)-
-Jikai Yokoku (Digimon Tamers Soundtrack)-
Alright, now, on to the next chapter :D
Chapter 17: The Pirate of Kaza'La.
-Location: Deep Forest; 1,700 kilometers (1056 miles) south of Nimb Town-
-Music: Blue Fields (Final Fantasy 8 Soundtrack)-
It's been 7 days since the events in the Water Temple.
After leaving the Wind Temple, the group made their way to Nimb Town. Like Duncan said, since they can now travel fast thanks to Alan's Aura being high enough, the group reached Nimb on that same day, and they stayed in there for the night.
The town was on their way to recovery, as the wall section that was destroyed weeks ago has been patched, and the destroyed sector was cleaned up from debris and construction just started of new homes. The final count was that 53 Spirituels died to the Heartless and the flames, while 287 were injured. It was a high number, but thanks to the group, the soldiers and people in the town, more lives were saved from the shadow creatures. Learning about this, Sapphire offered her services as a Sage to perform a 'ritual dance' so the souls of those who died will rest in peace back into the planet's heart.
After seeing her dance and hearing the music, Alan couldn't help but see the parallels between this and the dance Yuna made in Final Fantasy X to send the souls of the dead to the afterlife as part of her being a summoner.
…except with less souls… or maybe there WERE, but he couldn't see them.
Sapphire told him that, while not being their main job, all Sages have this ritual, because people in Regno Tenebrae believe the Crystals are the gateways to the World's Heart, aka the afterlife to them, and when one die, their soul will go to the closest crystal and be absorbed to it, to be send to the planet's heart.
The Crystals were VERY important to the people in this world… hence why they are willing to help anyone in a quest to save them.
Sapphire also gave the people in this town some fragments of the Water Crystal, so they can purify the water that the city needs to drink and survive, as the water all around the world will soon turn poisonous.
The next day, the group left Nimb Town and went south, to the Port City of Kaza'La, to try and find a ship so they could sail to the next continent. Alan asked why the port town was so far away, and why there wasn't one closer to where they were, and Duncan told him that there was actually another port town on the north, 200 kilometers east of the Wind Temple. However, after the destruction of the Thunder Crystal, several powerful storms struck in some places of the world at random… and one of them struck that city, the Port City of Gurad. Lightning and tempest winds reduced the city to rubble and sank many ships. When the Spellcasters, who were starting their quest in the continent, and a few days before meeting Alan, sail from the northern lands into Asgan, the back of the storm hit them and sank their boat, but they managed to get into the continent. There were other port cities on Asgan, but everyone were even more south of the continent, so Kaza'La is the closest one.
The group left Nimb Town, and like Duncan said, they run almost all day from when they woke up at dawn, until the sun starts to settle down, resting only to eat. Then, they had dinner and go to sleep, as the mages decided to not walk in the night like they were doing before, as they can cover more distance in the day when they are well rested.
Alan began to know more about his new friends, especially Sapphire, the newest one of the group. To say she was very amazed with how Alan described his world was falling short. Carriages that doesn't need beasts or horses? Humans that live in Crystal Towers that reach the sky? Flying ships? Devices that let people communicate with others on the other side of the world almost instantly? Sounds like paradise to her!
Alan laugh nervously and told her that, while it sounds good, humanity still have many problems, like conflicts and wars. Also their technological civilization is VERY energy consuming, forcing them to use power sources that pollute his world around the bigger cities. They are livable, though, but still, they probably have to face some consequences soon.
Still, personally, he says he won't change his world for nothing.
The days passed, and the group keep running towards the Port City of Kaza'La.
In the meantime, Alan continued his training. Heck, the whole running during all day made wonders to his training, as that helped him increase his aura reserves very fast. Before, he could only train for an hour or two a day, the time Steve took to cook, and the rest of the day they have to walk or sleep. Running as fast as he could, worked both for his aura and body, as he became more thin and muscular, something the girls in his group noticed eventually.
His aura reserves were high enough that Alan could use Blizzara spells now, or a single powerful Blizzaga, while his normal Blizzard spells can be used almost freely. It was notable his aura increase when he completed the 'break the spheres' training without much trouble… like he just did right now, as he used a triple Blizzara spells to break the last 3 spheres and he still have aura left. Just as he did that, the whole group, who was watching him training, began clapping.
"Well done, Alan." Commented Duncan, his stoic face showing a little smile on it. "Your progress is accelerating constantly. Seems like running all day was all you need to increase your aura reserves to the limit."
"Thank you, Master Duncan." Expressed Alan, dispersing his Keyblade and his aura to return to normal, letting out a sigh of tiredness. "If I knew this is what I needed, I should have done this earlier."
"I do admit that your progress is… unusual."
"How so?"
"Because we tried that." Commented Steve, calling his attention. "We also used our aura to its limits and run every day. However, our progress wasn't as big as yours when we did that… except Kristal's, as her aura reserves increased with that kind of training. We spellcasters increase our mana reserves by using spells."
"But Sir Alan is not a spellcaster." Commented Sapphire. "Maybe it's because he is human?"
"Well, we humans became strong by constant exercise." Expressed Alan, walking towards them. "I suppose our aura works like that: if we exercise with our aura, it also becomes strong."
"No…" said Duncan, while deep in though. "We spirituels also become stronger with our aura being used, that is why I told you to use your aura at maximum when chasing and destroying the spheres, as that works for us too. Unless humans have a higher rate of aura growth per training, this is something else."
"Maybe is the meatbag's keyblade?" Asked Castanea the Kuriboh, making everyone to look at her. "What? Its an idea."
"Well, it could be." Though Kristal for a second. "Maybe it's because Alan is a Keyblade chosen one? Maybe that makes him different?"
"Mmm… that could be." Said Duncan. "Our leader told us that Keyblade Champions have something different based in their Hearts, or Star Crystals as we know them. But he didn't told us more because we 'were not ready' for that knowledge."
"Oh? The Master told you were not ready, Master Duncan?" Asked Kristal.
"Not only me, but to the other Masters as well. That is something only he knows."
"Well, whatever it is, works for me." Said Alan, increasing his aura a little and punching the air extremely fast and several times. "I feel like a Dragon Ball character by now, so now I need to be even stronger. Even my hair keeps getting spikier… I think."
"Indeed." Said Duncan, smiling again. "I must say that, with your current strength, you can beat Joeler now."
"Finally!" Exclaimed Alan, raising his arms in the air. "I was REALLY getting tired of people telling me 'you are strong, but if you were to fight Joeler, you will STILL lose'."
"That… bothered you, Alan?" asked Steve, with a mocking tone in it.
"Only when they keep repeating it over and over. But whatever, that is in the past."
"Well Alan..." expressed Duncan, starting to walk towards him. "As you have destroyed the spheres and still have aura left, it means you are ready for a couple more of spells."
"Oh? And what are those?"
"The ability to sense auras like us… and the float spell."
"Oh? the Float Spell? Mean I can start flying like you, guys?"
"More or less." Commented Kristal. "However, we spellcaster learned the float spell as our basic spell, so we knew it since the start of our training."
"But that is because we know more of aura control." Expressed Steve.
"And that is the reason why I waited until now for you to learn it." Said Duncan again, looking at Alan. "You are not used to aura, so trying to teach you to sense it will overload your mind. And the float spell will not work correctly until you are used to your aura. Now that you are strong enough… It is time."
"Excellent!" Exclaimed Alan with determination. "With the float spell, I won't rest until I can strike my opponent in the air like freaking Sora." He said, causing his friends to look in confusion.
"What do you mean?" asked Vivian.
"Oh, yeah, in my world, there exist a game named Kingdom Hearts, and is the game were the idea of a 'keyblade' comes from. That is why I don't make questions about the Keyblade; I'm using the information in that game as a base."
"So there are more keyblades in this… 'game'?"
"Yep. The main character is Sora, the chosen one of the Kingdom Keyblade. He uses several kinds of magic, but what I'm referring too, is when Sora attacks an opponent with the Keyblade, he hits them with many combos in the ground, then toss them into the air with an upward strike, and THEN, using the float spell, he jumps and continues to hit them in the air while staying a float, like he was juggling them while he hits them. I WANT to do that, and once I learn this spell, I hope to do so."
"Well, that will be interesting to see, Meatbag." Commented the Kuriboh, still don't believing that Alan could do that.
After that, Duncan started to teach Alan how to float using the spell. He told the human that he needed to concentrate on unleashing his aura around the body, to try and affect his surroundings so his body isn't affected by gravity and the air. Alan tried, but it was easy to see that he was struggling.
Duncan also told him how to feel the energies of others. This was easier for Alan, and quickly grasped the basics, managing to feel Duncan's energy, who was close by, although he had trouble trying to sense anyone 5 meters away from him. Duncan told him he just need to concentrate more, and soon, he will get it. Alan nod with determination and was sure he will get the hang out of them soon.
-Music End-
Another week has passed.
The group went slower, so Alan could master the two new abilities. At the end of the week, Alan managed to feel auras at least 100 meters around him, and while he doesn't master Float yet, he at least can lift a little over the ground. Well, baby steps.
His aura increased again. He can now do two Blizzaga spells and not be drained of energy. Also, he slowly started to create his own combos and techniques, using his aura and ice powers, and they were slowly gaining shape. They still aren't working, but at least is something.
At the end of the week, the group reached the end of the road, as they saw in the distance, a large city.
"Everyone…" started Duncan. "Welcome to the Port City of Kaza'La."
"Finally!" exclaimed Kristal. "I was tired of traveling."
"So this is Kaza'La?" Asked Sapphire. "I never visited this city. Looks nice."
The group walked and entered the city. Alan immediately saw that the overall architecture of this city was also like Medieval Europe, but also similar to Mediterranean buildings.
"The buildings of this city… are somewhat different to the ones in Nimb Town and the other small villages we saw." Commented the human, looking at every place.
"That's because this city is also influenced by Ritsman culture." Commented Duncan. "Nimb Town is very inspired in Asganian culture, while Kaza'La is inspired in both Asganian and Ristman culture."
"Oh, very interesting."
"So… what do we do now, master?" Asked Vivian.
"For what I heard of this city, there is a restaurant-pub near the docks where all captains go to rest. It also work as the place to see for trips to other ports, so maybe we will find a captain of a ship that can go to the Betan Continent." Said the Dark Magician, pointing at the docks.
"Well, we just need to seek a captain and ask them to take us to Betan." Started Steve, smiling a little arrogantly…while Alan had a bad feeling about that. "It will be very easy."
"What do you MEAN there is no route to Betan?!"
Alan just sighed.
He warned Steve that his past comment just jinxed their quest, but Steve said he doesn't believed in that. But now… well, they were jinxed.
"I'm sorry, but there is no travel directly to the Betan Continent right now." Expressed a petit girl, with red hair in ponytails, as she was a 'Tour Guide to the Underworld' type of monster. The girl was slowly backing away from the angered Steve, until he was forced back thanks to Kristal. "Excuse all the inconvenience."
"I don't understand." Started Duncan, being more calmed than his apprentice. "I can see that there are many trips to other port Cities in Asgan and some in Ritsma. Why not to Betan?"
"Well, we recently learned that the Crystals of the Wind and Water got destroyed, and so the wind and ocean currents are so erratic right now, no one is willing to sail directly to Betan. The captains prefer to make many short 'trips' along the coast of Asgan and Ritsma, since its south from here, and not too far away from the coasts of Asgan."
Alan looked at the world map that they had in the building. It showed 3 continents: Asgan on the right side of the map and where they are right now, Betan on the left side of the map and where they are trying to go, and Ritsma to the south. Asgan and Betan are separated, and the Ocean that separates them is similar to the Atlantic Ocean in his world in size, making both continents as separated as North America is to Europe. Without the wind and the sea currents to guide them, seems several ship captains have decided to NOT try to sail the whole ocean. Instead, if they want to go to Betan, they had to go to Ritsma.
If Asgan was Europe and Betan was North America, Ritsma is like if someone took Central and South America, separated them from North America and placed it horizontally, so that Ritsma's East coast is close to Asgan's south west coast, while Ritsma's West coast was very close to Betan's south East one. It seems the captains of the ships prefer to hug the whole West coast of Asgan, jump into Ritsma's East coast, sail close enough to the whole north coast of Ritsma, and then jump into Betan's East coast. If they take this route… it will take WEEKS.
"Damn, I though with the wind and water spells, people will sail with no problem." Said Duncan with confusion.
"Well, mister Dark Magician…" Expressed the petite tour girl. "Since the destruction of the Wind Crystal, people have decided to return with their families, so many mages and people with wind and water spells have decided to simply not travel or to sail back home. Sailing around the world is decreasing."
"Yes, I understand. I didn't though of that."
"There… is also another thing…"
The group looked at the petit tour girl again, who looked like she was frightened. Alan, while he didn't know, kind of had an idea in his mind.
'Oh boy, here we go…' Though the human for himself.
"Is something wrong?" Asked Kristal with intrigue.
"Well…" started the tour guide, looking a little scared. "There is a rumor that something BAD is sailing in the ocean between both continents after the destruction of the Ice Crystal. Some captains and sailors that actually traveled between Asgan and Betan said they suddently were engulfed in a dense mist."
'Oh no, you are not serious!' though Alan, getting more annoyed as the girl commented the rumor.
"What about it?" Asked Steve, still not getting why it was important.
"Well, captains said that, once in the mist, they traveled for a day or so, lost in it… and then… they found something…"
"Don't tell me… a freaking ghost ship."
Everyone looked at Alan with confusion after he said those.
"Uh… well, that is one rumor." Commented the tour guide with confusion. "Captains don't know what is, but some say they had to escape from something, as they suddently felt so scared they had to flee, while that thing chased them in the mist. Some ships never make it back."
"Why? What happen to them?" Asked Vivian.
"Well, after the first sights, Captains began finding wreckage of ships when the mist appears. Some of that wreckage are from ships lost in the mist. There is one story that two weeks ago, a fleet of 12 merchant ships sail from Betan to Asgan, when they entered the mist. A captain of one of the ships said that, after a few hours after entering the mist, he and his sailors heard a powerful roar and another ship being destroyed. He order his crewmates to sail at maximum speed to get out of the mist, while he heard several other ships being destroyed. He and his crew where the only ones who survived. There is something in the waters between Asgan and Betan, and because of that, captains have decided not to sail between the two continents, and only sail close to Ritsma's coast."
"Oh boy, if it's not a ghost ship, then it's a freaking Kraken…" Sighed Alan, getting kind of annoyed. "This is so cliché!"
"Wait, what do you mean?" Asked Vivian.
"I have played enough Dungeons and Dragons and some Roleplaying games to know that, for SOME reason, each time we go into the sea, we find a ghost ship, or we fight a Kraken…sometimes BOTH! Kraken Ships! Fuck that!"
Everyone looked and heard how Alan was now rambling to himself, something about a freaking Dungeon Master or something making fun of him.
'… maybe Chaos IS influencing my mind and is roleplaying with my mind… hey, if that is true, can I have 20 charisma? Please?'
"uh… is your friend ok?" Asked the tour guide with confusion.
"Don't worry about him, he is new to this lands. He is just confused." Expressed Steve, while the rest of his friends just shrugged.
"Anyway… yeah, that is why no captain is kin to sail to Betan directly."
"This is bad…" Said Duncan, after thinking of it for a few seconds. "If we go to Ritsma, it will take at least one week more, and if we stop in every port on Ritsma's north coast, it will take us probably another four weeks, plus another one to go from Ritsma to a Betan port city."
"Six weeks extra of sailing? Wow, that will REALLY take too much time." Expressed Kristal, crossing her arms over her chest. "By then, the Fire Crystal could be destroyed."
"How long does it take to sail from Asgan to Betan if we go directly?" asked Alan.
"Normally? Is a three or four week of travel, depending on the seas." Answered Duncan.
"Oh, is relatively fast…"
"Can't we just buy a boat and go on our own?" Asked Castanea, calling everyone's attention.
"Unless you know how to sail in the ocean, no, we can't." Commented Steve. "We will get lost in the sea if we try to."
"What about you, miss Sapphire?" Asked Vivian. "Your kingdom is under the sea. How did you get here?"
"Ah… we used a boat, but the ones who sailed were my companions." Expressed the Maiden, a little sad at the memory of her lost friends. "I really don't know how to sail."
"Well… we are stuck…" Commented Alan. "What can we do now?"
"So… yer desperate to reach Betan, mates?"
-Music: Linebeck's Theme (The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Soundtrack)-
The group looked back, and saw in one of the corners of the restaurant, a woman sat in an empty chair. She had her legs over the table, and was looking at them behind her large hat. She also had a large bottle or rum in her hand. Alan looked at her attire and she was… familiar.
'Wait… isn't she…?'
"And you are?" Asked Duncan.
"Well, maybe this be yer lucky day." Commented the woman, getting up from the chair and taking a drink from her bottle, before looking at the group. "The names Isabella, mates. Isabella Castilio, captain of the ship 'Trinidad Escarlata'."
Alan arched an eyebrow. Those were Spanish names, something very intriguing in here. Also, she sounded like a pirate instead of a normal sailor. Not only that, the appearance of the woman was… curious and familiar.
The woman had a purple vest and a purple skirt, along with a pair of purple boots. They had golden designs in them. Over her shoulders was a cape, and two shoulder pads, one being covered by the cape. Her left arm was covered in bandages, and she wore a pirate hat over her head. She also had long purple hair, and her eyes matched their color. She had some older type of guns and a sword on her hips.
Alan looked at her and still felt like he had seen her…somewhere. Then he remembers his cards… and something clicked in his mind.
'Wait… isn't she a 'Warrior Lady of the Wasteland'? Why is she in a captain/pirate attire? Though she was a swordfighter… questions for later.'
"So you heard us, right?" Asked Duncan.
"Exactly, landlubber!" Commented the woman, named Isabella, as she walked toward them, taking another chug at her rum bottle. "Me ar in command of a ship, and heard yer…in a pitch."
The woman was sassy, Alan can have heard it in her pirate-like voice. Not sure if he was ok with that, but it doesn't matter now. Also it was kind of hard to understand her, although Alan understood her better than his companions.
"I suppose it will cost us, right?"
"Of course it will, mate!" Exclaimed Isabella. "Nothin in this world is for free, especially now that the only ship in the whole city who doesn't fear sleepin with the sharks and is willing to go directly to Betan is mine, and yer only choice to sail the seas."
"What do you want in exchange?" Asked the Dark Magician with seriousness.
"Money. Gold. Jewels. Riches. Anything valuable. Prices are high, mates, because the dangers are high too. Many captains are now sleepin in the bottom of the sea because of it. Ye want me to take ye, ye give me a royally reward."
"But our mission is to fix the Elemental Crystals." Expressed Kristal with some annoyance. "Surely you will help us to save this world, right?"
"Save the world? Bah! This wretched world can sleep with the fishes for all me care. A life of fun and pleasure is what this old me care for. If it's our destiny to be destroyed, then so be it!"
"…you don't believe that…"
Isabella turned to look at Alan, who was looking at her with determination.
"You don't believe that there is no hope… you just don't know what you CAN do."
"Oh? And who are ye to tell me what to do, lad?" Asked Isabella, getting dangerously close to him. "What class of Spirituel are ye? Never meet someone with these clothes."
"He is not a Spirituel, pirate." Expressed Duncan. "He is a human."
At those words, Isabella's eyes shoot wide open, looking at the man in front of her.
"Avast! A human? Here? … no, don't tell me yer… the Champion of the Red Key?" Asked the pirate woman, surprising everyone in there.
"You heard of me?" Asked Alan with intrigue.
"News fly fast in this world, lad. Heard a group of mages found a human and save Nimb Town from the shadow creatures. Also heard of a battle on the Water Temple and the appearance of the Ancient God Osiris had to do with them."
"Wow, news REALLY fly fast in here… and you guys don't have TV, let alone the internet."
"Whatever. So yer are that group, mates?" Asked Isabella, looking at Alan and the three mages, along with Vivian and Sapphire, and Castanea in the end. "Very interestin, and ye are?"
"My name is Vivian, the Sage of the Winds."
"And my name is Sapphire, the Sage of Waters."
"Ohoh wow, two Sages, eh?" Asked Isabella with intrigue. "If ye were to come to me ship, me will have 3 Sages on board. Savvy."
"Wait… three Sages?" Asked Alan in confusion.
"Yeah: The Sage of Lighting is part of me crew."
"Woah! Wait what?!" Asked Steve in confusion.
"Well then… that was unexpected." Commented Castanea with some indifference. "What a coincidence that we just find the Sage of Lightning in the only ship available."
'I swear this is a freaking DnD campaign!' though Alan in anger.
"Not so fast, furry ball! Haven't said yee will board the ship!" Exclaimed Isabella. "Prices is high, remember."
"Then please, allow me." Commented Sapphire, walking towards the woman. "I'm the princess of the Kingdom of Oceantis. As its heir, I will be in debt with you, and will reward you plentifully if you help us."
"Very tempting, princess of Oceantis, but for me yer words mean nothing. How can be sure ye will survive enough for me to collect the payment? If ye don't tell yerr king, Me get nothing."
"But then…"
"If ye don't have cash… maybe something extremely rare and valuable."
The group looked at each other, trying to see what they could give her. No one had anything very valuable. Duncan has money, but he doesn't want to spend all of it paying her, as that will leave them short of money for their quest. Sapphire was tempting to give her some shards of the Crystals, as she though they could value something.
But before they could think of anything, Alan reached for his back pockets, take out a coin and flipped it towards Isabella, who just caught it with her left hand. She was about to ask why he did that, when she noticed something…
…that coin… was different from anything she has seen before.
Coins in Regno Tenebrae are made of silver and gold, but they are mostly misshapen, mostly taking the form of large ovals with a 'G' engraved in it, symbolizing the world currency, Gil. This one was a perfect circle, with a silver core and a golden ring, and the engraved was VERY different, as on one side was some strange face and many figures, while on the other side is the figure of an eagle, and some words: United Mexican States.
"What is this bloody coin? Never seen it before in me travels." Commented Isabella with confusion, looking at the coin that seem to have a silver core and a gold ring.
"It's a ten Peso coin, and is a coin from my home country of México, in my world." Alan answered, pointing at the coin in Isabella's fingers.
"Is it made of a silver core and a gold ring?"
"No, but it's made of materials that aren't from this planet. Consider it the payment."
"One coin? Are ye making fun of me, lad?! Ye will swim with the sharks if ye do!"
"Think about it: it's the ONLY coin from another world that is in here. And it's yours. If news travel as fast as I think, everyone will know a human from another planet gave you a coin from his world. Soon, that coin will cost thousands of coins from this world. And guess what?" Asked Alan, reaching for his pockets to take out more coins, one actually being a quarter. "I have a bunch of them, and one of them is a Quarter, a type of coin used in another country of my world, named America, or the United States of America, one of my world's super powers. I'm willing to give them all to you if you take us to Betan."
Isabella looked at the coins in Alan's hand. A tempting offer. Sure, they were just small coins, but as he said, she will be the owner of coins from ANOTHER world.
"Very tempting, human." Expressed Isabella. "Ok, will take you to Betan, but with the condition that ye ALSO give me the reward the princess of Oceantis also wanted to give me. Also ye give me two more coins now. Savvy?"
Alan looked at Sapphire to see if she was ok with that. When she nodded, he knew she was ok.
"I will give you the two coins once we are on the ship."
"Ah, see how yer playin, mate. Want to be sure me don't leave ye cryin on land, eh? Ok, on the ship ye give me the two coins. Savvy?"
"Yes, we accept."
"Alright, it's a deal!" Expressed Isabella, shaking Alan hand. "We part tomorrow morning, mates. Meet me at the docks with everythin ye need for a month and a week of travel. The ship is called Trinidad Escarlata, and if yer not on it when the sun goes up, we'll leave yer smelly asses cryin on land. Savvy, mate?"
"Aye, captain!"
"Ha! Like your style, scurby human. Then see yer all tomorrow. Be on time."
And with that, the young woman left the restaurant/pub, leaving the rest of the group on their own.
"Well… we got our ship." Commented Alan, looking at his friends.
"Boy, she was hard to understand." Said Vivian, holding her forehead. "How could you understand her, Alan?"
"I just seen so many pirate movies…" said the human, shrugging at that.
"What does 'Savvy' mean, sir Alan?" Asked Sapphire in confusion.
"Not exactly sure… something like 'are we clear?' or 'you understand that?'. Also they never say 'you' or 'your', they normally say 'ye' or 'yer'. 'Mateys' are 'friends', and they NEVER refer themselves as 'I', only 'me'. As you can see, they are well known for not speaking correctly. Also expect many 'ARRR's and 'AHOY' once we're in the ship."
"Oh, I see…"
"Well done, Alan. Glad you thought of giving the pirate your coins." Expressed Duncan. "Alright, We'll stay here the night. Tomorrow morning, we will go to the ship. However, be careful, as we don't want to have our guard down because we are on a pirate ship. Remember, pirates are NOT to be trusted at first, so every minute on that ship we need to be at least in pairs, never alone. Are we clear?"
"Yes, Master!"
And so, after congratulating Alan a few more times, the group went to recollect supplies, and then to seek a hotel to sleep.
-Music End-
The next morning, the group woke up before the sun raised, and arrived at the docks, soon finding the ship they were seeking, the Trinidad Escarlata. They soon found it, as it was the only ship where people were moving. The group approached and they saw several Spirituels loading the ship with supplies, especially rum… tons of rum.
"Hurry up, yee scruby rats! We need to sail before dawn or yer all be walkin the plank and sleep with the fishes!" Exclaimed Isabella to her crew as loading the ship. She then saw the group approaching the ship and her expression changed. "Ahoy, me hearties! Welcome to the finest ship in the Agetan Sea, the Trinidad Escarlata!"
"Agetan Sea?" Asked Alan with curiosity.
"Is the ocean between Asgan and Betan, Alan." Answered Kristal.
"Oh, I see!"
"Well, come on, all hands hoy! We'll depart soon!" Expressed Isabella, telling the group to get on the ship. The group did so, and go on board. "Check it out, mates! The princess of Oceantis is here! She'll give us a loot so big we won't be needin to pillage anymore! Greet her and her companions!"
"AHOY!" Exclaimed the rest of the crew, looking at the group who just got in.
Even though it was a greeting, many of the group felt… uneasy. Duncan knew that, and so he steps forward.
"Just to be clear…" started Duncan, looking at the captain. "If something happens and you try to betray us, we are willing to defend ourselves against all of you."
"What?" Questioned Isabella, looking kind of surprised. "What are yee implying lad?"
"Exus and his followers are everywhere. Seems strange to us that you offered your ship when we have problems, so we will be on guard. If you try to do something against us, we will defend ourselves."
"Are yee treating us, matey?"
"Better safe than sorry, as they say."
"Oh yeah? And what are yer going to do about it, bilge rat? We'll be on the sea! If we were to betray yah, what will ye do?"
"We will sink the ship!"
Isabella and Alan's companion turned to look at Alan, who said that and right now had one of the most serious face expression they had ever seen on his face.
"What did ye said, mate?" Asked Isabella, getting dangerously close to him. Alan just stood his ground, while clearing his throat, before looking at her.
"What ye heard me, lass!" Expressed Alan, TRYING to use the pirate's language and tone of voice. "If yer try to betray us, we'll blow a hole into this stinky ship and we'll all be sleepin in Davy Jones' Locker!"
"Who the heck is this Davy Jones ye speak, landlubber?"
"…famous pirate in my world, lass. Ruler of the seven seas, captain of the Flying Dutchman! Terror of the seas!" Answered Alan, actually describing the character from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies... because he doesnt know about the real legend. "His legend alone bring fear to the hearts of even the bravest of sailors."
"So ye also have pirates in yer world, lad? Bet they are no match for me skills!"
"Whatever! The point is, ye try to cross us, we'll sink this ship and we'll all be sleeping with the fishes! Savvy?!"
Isabella looked at Alan with anger, and she was about to bring her sword… or so it seemed, as she began laughing.
"Haha! Me like yee, human!" Expressed Isabella, patting Alan hard in ha back, causing him to take a step forward in surprise. "Me get ye, mates. That Exus scrub is trouble! He'll give us problems in the future. We're not his lackeys, so don't worry matey."
"Well, better safe than sorry." Said Alan, returning to his normal speech.
"Anyway, we must get ready… oh, right, forgot to present ye all someone." Isabella looked at the top of one of the mast of her ship. "Oi, Rubina! Get yer smelly ass down here, you smelly Oni Rat!"
"Aye, aye, Captain!"
The group saw that someone, instead of using the stairs, jumped from the Crow's Nest part of the mast and down to the deck, to the surprise of everyone. The person was a woman, kinda short red hair, red eyes, and a really good figure, as she has some nice curves and large breasts that bounced when she landed, something that Steve, and Alan, noticed immediately. She wore a one-piece with a tiger-like pattern leotard that ended on her large chest, also had some cat like boots and gloves, as she had paws on both ends. Also, on her head, were some small but noticeable small horns, similar to Oni ones. Alan immediately recognized.
'She is a Thunder Nyan Nyan! And an uncensored one! That is so cool!' Though the human in surprise and excitement, as she was one of the monster cards that he liked but couldn't use in his deck.
"Yee need me, captain?" asked the busty redhead, one hand on her head, saluting the captain.
"Aye, matey!" Expressed Isabella, walking towards the girl and placing a hand on her shoulder, before looking at the group. "Hearties, this is Rubina, and she is the Sage of Lightnin I was blabbing about yesterday."
"She is the Sage of Lightning?" Asked Duncan with surprise, as he didn't believe the pirate was telling them the truth. However, a quick scan on her aura indicted that she was. "I see. She has the same kind of aura that Vivian and Sapphire."
"Oh?" Asked the redhead, looking at the other two women. "So ye two arr also sages?"
"We are. My name is Vivian, the Sage of the Winds." Expressed the Harpie Girl.
"And I am Sapphire, the Sage of Water." Commented the Maiden of the Water.
"Blimey! Nice to meet ya! My name is Rubina, The Sage of Lightning, as my captain told ye!" Expressed the red hair woman, jumping in excitement. "Glad to see ye!"
"And I am glad to see you, beautiful woman!" Examined Steve, on his knees and holding Rubina's hand. "A beauty such as yourself shouldn't be working on a smelly ship like this."
Alan just smacked his hand on his face in frustration.
'Is he summoning his inner Miroku again?' Though the human, thinking of a certain perverted monk from another anime series.
"Steve, don't make me punish you." Started Kristal menacingly.
"But I'm not doing anything! I'm just…." Started Steve, raising his eyes to look up, but instead of looking at Rubina's face, his eyes centered on her large breasts. "…admiring this beauty in front of me. I really, REALLY love this sight."
Kristal was about to walk forward and punish her silly friend, when Rubina just smiled sweetly… and grabbed Steve by the cloak and, in one fast movement, toss him over her shoulders into the water behind the ship, on the other side from where the group get on board. The mage made a huge splash as he landed on the water, causing every crewmember on the ship to laugh at him.
"Had deal with scrubs like yee every day, matey!" Expressed Rubina, dusting her hands off after a job well done.
"… I like her style." Commented Kristal, smiling at that.
"Pardon me." Said Duncan, walking towards Rubina. "I do wonder why do a Sage is doing in here. What happen?"
"Oi? Yer ask me how little me landed in here?" Asked the Nyan Nyan. "Well, ye see, was on the trip to Lightning Temple, when hear that it was destroyed by one of Exus' lackeys. Went there to plant a Seed Crystal and took few crystals for me self, and then tried to sail north to warn the Wind Sage… but on the way, me both got hit by a storm, and was stuck on an island, when good Cap Isabelle saved me."
"Yahaha! After that, this young lass was in debt of me." Expressed Isabella, grabbing Rubina's shoulder. "She became a pirate like us, ye see. As her job as a Sage was done, she decided to be at sea with us, and that's why she's here. A very helpful young lass, must say, as her Lightnin power deflect the lightnin from the skies so it doesn't hit us. And in these times after the destruction of the Lightin Crystal, the seas are unstable, so her powers are helpful."
"Oh, so she is helping you with the seas, eh?" Asked Alan in confusion.
"Yer right, matey! But don't be fooled. Her ass is mine, as good old Captain Isabella saved her, so even if shes the Sage of Lightin, she still need to sever me a few more times!"
"Wait, so she is your prisoner?!" Asked Alan, getting a little angry.
"Not at all, lad! Is just a simple treat. Saved her ass, she needs to save our asses, and in these situations, as the seas are getting dangerous, so she is helping us." Said Isabella, who's face turned a little mischievous. "But little me like ye, human, so if yee ask, can give her ass to ye to do anything ye want with her!"
"Wait, what now?!" Asked Alan, now in confusion and embarrassment.
"Captain! What are ye saying?!" Asked Rubina in surprise.
"Haha! Knew ye'll react like that, matey! Saw how ye saw her when she landed." Said Isabella, poking Rubina's breasts with her fingers. "Know ye have yer eyes on these bootys, so ask and me will let yee do whatever ye want with her!" She said, as she slapped Rubina's ass, forcing the girl to jump forward, crashing into Alan. "This one is on me, matey!"
"Oi! Captain!" exclaimed Rubina in anger and embarrassment, while Alan… he just simply didn't know what to do, because of Rubina's breast being pressed hard on his chest.
Kristal, Vivian and Sapphire eyes just twitched in unison, while Castanea just rolled her eyes. Duncan just sighed.
"Haha! Anyway! Let's get this starting!"
Isabella then run and got up on the Quarter Deck, where the Helm of the ship resides. On there, Isabella looked down on everyone on the deck.
"Avast ye, mateys! Time to go! Get the ship ready, or ye all walk the board tonight!"
"Aye, aye, captain!" Exclaimed crew, who began the procedure to sail.
"Off we go, to the Betan Continent!"
And so, the ship left port, as the group set sail into the sea. The ship began leaving the coast…
"…hey! Wait for me!"
…while Steve tried to fly towards the leaving ship.
Their quest on the sea just started.

Don't miss the next chapter of The N-Warriors: Shadow Realm Saga: Danger in the High Seas
-Alan: This is why I dont like the ocean!
Author Notes:
And another chapter is done!
This one is technically new, as in the past version of the fic, I, for some reason, went from the Kuriboh Village to the middle of the ocean in one parragraph.
...man, I REALLY needed to describe stuff back then.
So, as the Crystals are being destroyed, this world's way of life are changing. Since the Wind and Water ones are gone, sailing in the middle of the ocean has become dangerous, as currents are erratical, so sailors decide to just hug the coasts of the continents to sail. Obviously this takes WAY more time than normally. Imagine that instead of sailing from Portugal to America directly across the Atlantic, the ship has to go back into sailing the coasts of Spain, France, jump into the United Kingdom, then jump to Iceland, then jump to Greenland and sail the coast until you can jump into Canada, and sail south until you reach America. That will take way more time than normal. That is the situation in Regno Tenebrae without the Elemental Crystals, and why many sailors dont want to sail across the ocean. Also because of the rumors.
And a new character...s.
I was REALLY searching for a good female pirate in the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game, just to discover that there is NOT a single pirate that doesnt look like a robot. So I had to improvise. The Warrior Lady of the Wasteland was the chosen one.
And Thunder Nyan Nyan. She was one of my favorite lady cards back in the day...specially the uncensored one. I wanted to add her in the original fic, but I didnt found a way...so now I had to. And she will be a game changer... to the girls that start to like Alan.
Also, the 'is this a DnD joke' is not only because I wanted to add it. Since Alan is now wondering if he is being controlled, the idea of probably finding a ghost ship on the sea being so cliché is a reason why he thinks he is being manipulated. You will see slowly becoming more angry at that.
Anyway, I hope you liked this chapter.
See ya on the next one!
