Yoshi let out a groan, feeling a sharp pain in the back of his neck. His eyes shot open, sitting up. He looked around for a moment, realizing he was in the First Floor Atrium of the Traditional Building. He looked around for a moment, spotting a few of his classmates laying around in similar states, all of them in the process of waking up or still passed out. He reached up to his head, noticing his wig had fallen off. Looking around for it, he hastily placed it back onto his head, fixing it a bit before anyone noticed it had been off.

"Ugh… What the hell happened?" he thought to himself, rubbing his neck. He felt something with his fingertips, something that wrapped around his neck. It was squeezing it slightly, nothing that would bother him too much.

It was then that he noticed something in the corner of his vision. It was a holographic Head's Up Display. On the very left, he could see several small circles, each containing something. One was a message app, while the one beneath it looked like a contact list. Underneath that, was what looked like a web browser. The bottom left featured what looked like a compass, finally, in the right side of his vision, he could see something else. Something that looked like a level. It was currently set to level 1. He wasn't exactly sure what that meant, but he wasn't exactly looking forward to finding out.

"Hey, Yoshi… you alright?" a voice called out, grabbing his attention. He looked up from the ground, seeing one of his classmates, Aaron Baird, standing before him. Yoshi gave him a nod, brushing some hair out of his eyes.

"I'm doing alright, what about you?" he asked, sounding concerned. "You look a little groggy,"

"That's because I am… I don't remember exactly what happened but I think we were put to sleep." he said, frowning. He looked around, seeing the others in the process of waking up. "Not to mention, all of us have these things on our necks."

Looking up, Yoshi noticed a device around Aaron's neck. It looked like a neckband, but it was more than that, he could tell. It wrapped around his neck, locking up at the front with a small tiny lock making it look almost like a choker. He noticed the right side of the device was aglow with various blinking lights. The device was black in color, and had a pink butterfly printed on the side of it. Yoshi briefly wondered if that was what his looked like.

"Ugh… what is this fuckshit?" Nodoka cried, holding her head in her hands. "Were we seriously knocked out with gas?"

"So it would seem," Anton said, as he rose to his feet. He tugged on his coat a bit, making sure his sword was still at his side. He noticed the others were fully awake by now, all of them wondering what was going on. Taking the lead, the man stood before the group, a firm look on his face. "Right… listen up everyone, I'm not sure what it is that happened, but we all need to band together."

"I know what happened!" Rin cried, grabbing everyone's attention. She had a fearful look on her face as she looked around. "That lady… she ended up nuking the capital,"

"Yes, I concur… that is the last memory I myself have," Zalicka said, making sure Seath and Veeza were unharmed. She had a look of calm on her face, but her eyes were filled with fear. Especially since she didn't know what was going on.

"We must remain calm friends," Lyonel said, trying to remain as peaceful as he could. "I understand something tragic has just taken place. But we must believe in ourselves and in the power of God, for he shall guide us through these dark times,"

"Pfft… like hell he will!" Briar snapped angrily, glaring at the puny man before him. "You actually believe the invisible man in the sky is gonna help us? All of us are trapped in this fucking shit hole, and no one is going to help us,"

"Oh boy, a Debby-Downer, how fun." Kevin said, chuckling. "It doesn't matter yeah? All of us are alive, and this is the most secure place on the American continent, won't be long until the National Guard bails us out."

"Hey retard," Sasha snapped, glaring at the violinist. "The capital was blown to smithereens, meaning the President is dead. You know what that means? It means the chain of command lost it's head. America is defenseless, meaning whatever is left of the military is gonna focus on national defense."

"N-national defense?" Joel mumbled fearly. He grabbed onto Nodoka's arm, hugging it tightly. "You mean… we're all alone here?"

"I fucking called it didn't I?" Freyja cried, leaning on her umbrella, a catty-grin on her face. "I knew this academy was fishy. I posted my theories on the official forums, but none of you chucklefucks heeded my warnings! You reap what you sow, ladies and gents!"

"Except you are in this too, face it. All of us are probably fucked regardless of what we do." Ernest said, shaking his head. "We may as well throw in the towel now,"

Everyone remained silent, pondering his words. This couldn't stand, they just couldn't give up. They were in America's School of Hope. All of them were Supremes! They couldn't just give in. Just as Yoshi was about to say something, Peter stepped up, clutching his chest in pain as he held his hat in his hands.

"Oh come on you guys… are you telling me that throwing the towel is the best option? That is like giving up! We can't just do that… we need to stand together as a unified front and face off against the Mastermind," he said, looking around the room. He flipped his hat between his fingers, placing it atop his head. "Let us stay strong, for if we waver, all of what we stand for will be destroyed!"

"Oh, easy for you to say. You have nothing to lose, unlike all of us! I don't know about you but I am not going to die in this academy!" Alivia cried angrily, fighting back tears. "So go ahead, face off against the Mastermind, but count me out."

"Turning into a blubbering mess is not going to help anyone," Ezekiel said, standing firmly next to Peter. "We need to seek out answers, why are we here? What is going to become of us, who else is involved in all of this? These are all relevant questions, especially now of all times. Do not focus on the outside world, focus on the here and now. It's all I can recommend,"

"E-Ezekiel is right," Robin said, taking a deep calming breath. "We should focus on that first, finding where the Mastermind is, and if possible, taking them out."

"That bitch owes me one, putting me in a stupid situation like this. I am not going to risk La Dolce Vida over some stupid ass killing game!" Alessia snapped angrily, crossing her arms over her chest. "I'm getting what's mine, and that bitch is going to pay me every dollar."

"Well, if you wish to collect, then I hope you are all ready to play by my rules." a firm female voice said, causing everyone to jump. As if on cue, a video file appeared before everyone, as if coming from thin air. It was a live feed, showing nothing more than a silhouette of a person.

"What the hell?"

"It's floating in front of me, what?"

"Relax, this must be Augmented Reality… HHPA's Steering Committee was raving about it during the Showcase." Lugh said, hoping to calm everyone down. The woman let out a laugh.

"You are indeed correct, Supreme Alchemist. I am honestly impressed with you, I wasn't expecting a survivor of a previous killing game to find themselves here of all places. Makes me wonder what exactly you are doing here."

"Well get on with it, what the hell do you want from us?" Hermione cried out, glaring at the video feed.

"From you? I want nothing… nothing but Despair." she said. The crowd remained silent, though some were glaring at her. "Yeah… in the end it's all about Despair, why else would I plan all of this? It's all on behalf of my Queen of course. The one who set all of this in motion. It's lead to you being here… after all, your delusions was what brought you to this academy,"

"Delusions? Ey yo, what'chu mean B? I don't know what the hell you are talking 'bout." Cleavance said, sounding confused.

"I believe she is trying to plunge us all into despair, like the Masterminds of all the other Killing Games." John said, making the Xenomorph jump a bit at his sudden appearance. John gave him an apologetic look. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you."

"If that's the case desu, then why put us through all of this? Couldn't killing our loved ones be enough? Thinking face." Clara asked.

"Why would I bother killing your loved ones? That wouldn't drive you into despair… no no… you see, what I want is more abstract in nature. Yes, I want despair, but I also want you all to suffer great loss. Only when your lives teeter on the edge of life and death, will true despair surface." the woman said, leaning back in her seat. "Which is why, we need to begin this game right. At the end of the Hallway on the First Floor near the Pool Hall is a Teleportation Pad. It will lead to the Gymnasium. All of you will present yourselves there in the next ten minutes, do not keep me waiting."

With that, the feed ended, leaving everyone in a confused state of panic. Everyone was questioning what was going on. They questioned the Mastermind, cursed her very existence, wondered why they even bothered showing up to the academy. Anton couldn't stand for it, so he once again stepped to the front, clapping his hands loudly.

"HEY!" he shouted, causing everyone to stop. "Let us not fall to self loathing and questioning, I'm certain everything will be answered soon. Let's just do as she says, the last thing we want is to suffer a loss."

"Easy for you to say," Ophelia mumbled, walking past the man. "You are just enjoying this aren't you? Mister "Chosen One". You think this is your calling in life?"

"Whatever do you mean?"

"I think she's r-referring to y-your sword," Jamila said, pointing at Excalibur. "Y-you are acting as if protecting u-us is your duty,"

"Well it is," the man said proudly, patting his chest with glee. "I was chosen for an event like this, with Excalibur at my side, there is nothing I can't do."

"Pfft… yeah, sure," Briar said, chuckling. "I'm sure you are going to die first, and when you do, I'm using that glowing metal stick as a toothpick,"

"Let us not fight, broothers and sisters!" Ninian said, stepping up next to Anton, giving him a small trusting smile. "I believe in Anton's words. He may not be a true hero yet, but perhaps he can help us get out of here. For now, let us go to the Gymnasium… we wouldn't want to keep the scary lady waiting,"

Everyone remained silent, allowing Anton to take the lead. It wasn't as if they had much of a choice in the matter, since he claimed to be a hero. Yoshi stopped for a moment, glancing over his shoulder at the front entrance. It was completely sealed shut, a pair of turrets having come down from the ceiling. It was certain they were not getting out that way.

HHPA's Gymnasium was quite large, even by high school standards. Most of the second floor had been dedicated to this gymnasium. It was one of the rooms they school had been the proudest of. Designed after Hope Peak Academy's own gym, it featured a trophy room before entering the gymnasium proper. Behind class cases sat many trophies, medals, plaques and accolades.

The Gymnasium itself featured several bleachers at either side of the room. The floors were made of hardwood and polished to a shine. The basketball court had been neatly drawn out, glass hoops hanging at either side of the court. The walls were made of stone, and large windows could be seen near the ceiling of the room, though the shutters had been brought down, blocking access to the outside world. Large lamps hung over the room, providing so much light to the room that it almost resembled the sun. Nodoka had to hold Ninian down, to prevent her from making an attempt at launching herself at said lamps. At the farthest end of the Gymnasium was a large wooden stage, with a podium sitting at the center. The crest of the school, a bald eagle, holding a scroll and thirteen olive branches, surrounded by 50 stars was visible on the floor, in the very center of the court.

The moment all 28 present students entered the Gymnasium, they heard the thumping sound of music. This confused them all, but they decided to take their chances and enter the Gymnasium. The source of the sound came from the large speakers located at every corner of the large room. A familiar figure was seen on the stage, prancing around while twirling an American Flag, seemingly unaware of the people watching her.

"In 1607, we sailed the open seas!

For glory, god and gold and the Virginia Company!

For the new world is like heaven!

And we'll all be rich and free!

Or so we have been told by the Virginia Company!

Or so we have been told by the Virginia Company!"

The young woman slammed the flag into the ground, stabbing the pole straight through the wooden stage. She turned to greet the crowd of students in front of her, a vibrant grin on her face.

"Salutations, students of Class 63!"

"Ugh… what an annoying voice," Yoshi thought to himself, as he took in her appearance.

Long reddish brown hair fell down past her shoulders, nearing her waist. She was wearing a black bow at the back of her head. She was wearing an off the shoulder white blouse, with a frilled collar and long sleeves. She was wearing a pea-green skirt that reached down to her knees, leaving her glowing black legs completely visible. Her eyes were glowing a soft green, matching the vibrant smile on her face.

"Who the hell are you? Are you our captor?" Naveen cried angrily. He snapped his fingers, calling forth his puppets, all of them were glowing slightly, as magic seemed to flow through his fingertips. "The Loa aren't at all pleased with what you intend to do, especially with all of the lives you have most likely already taken,"

"Ugh… I really hate having to explain myself twice," the young woman said, uttering a sigh. "But, since you guys are so brain dead to remember, I suppose I'll have to do it again."

She walked around the podium, stopping right at the edge of the stage, hands at her hips as she surveyed the group before them. With a snap of her fingers, holographic cameras appeared at either side of the stage, along with a few floating drones.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the time has come for us to begin! We're coming to you live from Hope Hills Preparatory Academy, with the sole remaining class! Class 63, all of them accepted into the fold just last week! It just so happens that none of them knew what they were signing up for!" she said cheerfully, as she turned to face one of the cameras. "It seems we are about to have loads of fun here today! So let's begin this right! My name is Penny Anderson, and I shall be your host for the rest of our little game! Welcome to the greatest game show in the history of the United States of America! HHPA's New Semester of Killing Begins Now!"

As if one cue, several confetti cannons exploded, sending hundreds of little pieces of colored paper in all directions. A few people cried in surprise, while the others were just confused by her actions. Some of the smarter ones realized what was going on, and figured out what was likely occurring.

"What is the meaning of this?" Louise cried, getting Penny's attention. "You claim this to be a game show, but aren't on television!"

"Actually sweetheart, you are. You see the drones flying around you? Yeah, these are special. Thanks to HHPA's Augmented Reality Cameras, we can generate anything we want, including live video feeds to the outside world. All of it is being directly beamed to every television screen, cellphone and computer all over the nation! Thanks of course to HHPA's Personal Channel! Isn't that swell?"

"Oh Oh! Can you use that fancy technology to turn me into a pony?" Heather cried, a look of excitement on her face. She noticed a few people glaring at her from the corner of her eyes, making her chuckle. "What? Am I not allowed to enjoy my favorite show?"

"Oh, you are. Just not this minute you dunce, can't you see these are some serious fucking matters?" Nodoka cried back.

"Hey now, let's not resort to that," Aaron said, sighing. "I do recall this aspect of the school. I myself used this technology when I hosted my Six PM podcast. In fact, I was working closely with some students in HHPA to ensure the technology didn't have any bugs. Something about the Neo World Program malfunctioning?"

"Ah, that would be because of us!" a new peppier voice called out. From behind the podium, a plush looking cat jumped out, standing on top of it. It was bright blue in color, the left side of it's face being white, while the right was crimson red. It had a beady black eye, while the other was in the shape of a Star. All around it, visible stars could be seen, all totalling fifty.

"A neko… it's so kawaii-desu. May I hug the neko, Penny-chan?" Clara asked, trying to mimic a hopeful look. Penny cringed, looking away.

"No way… Nicky here isn't one to accept hugs. Also the hell is wrong with your face? Jesus Girl, take the damn mask off,"

"Sumimasen, Penny-chan… t-this isn't a mask desu. I uh…" the girl remained silent, looking down in shame.

"Any-way… the commercial break should be over in three…two...one… and we're back! I hope you enjoyed those commercials everyone! Today's episode is funded by Sugar Bombs! The best most sugariest cereal in the world! So if you crave rotting teeth and sugar, pour yourself a bowl of Sugar Bombs today!"

She took a deep breath, as the cameras slowly turned to face the gathered class. "Now then, all of you were called here for a specific reason! And that's because all of you are being split up! That's right, you will be given the chance to fight for your freedom, as an entire team. And before you start pairing up, we've decided your teams for you. So don't even think about changing teams once we've said your names."

"Teams? Escape? What is this farce?!" Anton cried, stepping to the front of the group. He stepped up to the stage, glaring up at Penny who just had a smile on her face. "You cannot hold us here prisoner! It is a crime punishable by law, and under the Declaration of Independence, you cannot rob us of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness."

Penny shared a look with Nicky, who just let out a laugh. "Is he… is he serious? The British bumpkin is defending American values?"

"Guess so…" she said with a shrug, looking back at the blond boy. "Okay, listen here bub… as of now, the Declaration of Independence is worthless to you. In fact, it's worth less than toilet paper. Same with the Constitution, the Treaty of Paris and whatever dusty document you think can help you. Right now, you play by the Mastermind's rules, and by default my rules!" Penny said, reaching behind her back for something.

The crowd gasped as she unrolled the Declaration of Independence, the worn looking document looked like it had seen better days, but the words on it were still legible. She looked at it for a moment, nodding her head. "This one is the one from Washington D.C. which was held at the National Archives, and since that place is gone well… I guess we don't have a need for this do we?" she asked. She pulled out a zippo lighter, flicking it open. "So long! The words of our founding fathers are meaningless to us now!"

The group watched helplessly as the document caught fire, slowly burning into ash. She held onto it until the last second, letting it fall to the ground where it continued to burn. She took a deep breath, inhaling the smoking coming off from it. "Ah… fresh air!"

"You are sick, you know that?" Peter snapped, causing the orange-haired hostess to look up at him.

"Ah, well if it isn't my old buddy Pete… the bastard that clocked me with his cane… I do not care for your comment, good sir. Now then, we're wasting time. If we call your name, then step out of the group. Those that don't listen will be punished severely. Do not test me,"

"Ahem… the names for Group 1 are as follows!" Nicky said, clearing her throat.

"Anton Grey, Sasha-Raymond Reddington, Yoshi Utagawa, Ezekiel King, Peter Burnett, Freyja Drahlstrom, Joel Sanders, Nodoka Toyohama, Aaron Baird and Heather Gonzales. Step out into the left side of the Gymnasium please," the cat said. Faced with no other choice, the students that were called out stepped to the left of the gymnasium. Penny walked up to Anton, tossing him a rolled up scroll.

"What the hell is this?" he asked firmly.

"Your Team flag, dumbass. From now on, you will be known as the Screeching Eagles." she said. The man unrolled the scroll he was given, seeing the symbol printed on it, a rather cruddy drawing of a screaming eagle. He said nothing as he rolled the flag up, not wanting the others to see it.

"Alright then! Team number 2. Alessia Conti, Kevin Black, Alivia Baird, Naveen Celestin, Robin Winterbourne, Jamila El Sayed, Briar Ailling, Ophelia Driscoll, Lugh Quinn and Rin Chidori. Please step to the right of the Gymnasium please,"

Just like the others, the ten students that had been called out stepped to the right. Penny handed Alessia a white scroll, contrasting the blue one that she had given to Anton. Unrolling it, she saw a black circle on the center, with what looked like a ghost printed in the center.

"Congrats! You shall now be dubbed as the Ghastly Ghouls. Have fun with that!" Penny said cheerfully.

"This is so fuckin stupid, I'd rather not be part of a team. I can work better by myself." Briar snapped, causing Penny to look up at him. She let out a giggle.

"Sure, whatever you say big guy. I'm sure doing the lone wolf thing will only get you killed,"

"Pfft… my ass." he said, grabbing a hold of his axe, placing it on his shoulder. "I can just crush anyone who gets in my way. Not to mention I'll slice them in half with my axe."

"Hmm… that's true, you are pretty big… but that axe… are you sure you aren't overcompensating for something with it? I mean it's so big… I'm sure there's something else on your body that isn't."

"Oh that's great, I like this girl. She seems like a fun person to hangout with," Kevin said, earning a slap to the back of the head from Alessia.

"Be serious asshole! She's the fucking enemy!"

"Moving on, the remaining 9 of you, Lyonel Beck, Zalicka Hajjar, Cleavance Gatfield, Ninian Llyn Ogwen, Ernest Anerson, Louise Bogweather-"

"Doctor! For fuck sakes, call me Doctor!" the raven haired girl interjected, only to be ignored.

"-John Abbot, Hermione Vasilykos and Clara Hertzel-Hanada…. You shall be known as the Killer Gophers. Congratulations to all of our teams! May you strive to kill each other beautifully!" she said, tossing Lyonel a crimson flag, which featured what looked like a Gopher, holding a knife with pink blood dripping from it.

"Alright, you separated us into teams, what the hell do you want with us now?" Anton asked, watching as the hostess moved to the front of the gym.

"Well, it's quite simple. We're playing the world's most fun game show right now. As of now, all of you are separated into teams. The object of our little game is to compete as a team against each other. The team that wins the challenge will be immune from elimination! The second place will have their actions in the academy restricted until the next challenge, and the third team… Well that's the fun team!"

"Penny is right! The losing team will have to vote one off their teammates off! They shall then be given an "Elimination Challenge" should they pass, they get to stay in the game and live another day… and if they lose… well, let's just say that won't be pretty for anyone involved. So strive not to lose! All votes must be unanimous, and if you are caught cheating the vote… well you'll be punished for that as well!" Nicky said firmly.

Once again, the group remained silent, letting all of the information settle into their minds. Challenges, Games? What kind of show were they running here? This was unlike other Killing Games. Usually, a motive would be given to incite murder, this was unlike anything anyone had seen before.

"I must admit," Yoshi mumbled, as he looked up from the ground. "I was not expecting this. Normally, we're given a motive and told to kill each other. Why is this so different?"

"Hmm… that's probably because the Mastermind is a kind person at heart. She wants everyone here to have a fighting chance to leave. Of course, that's where we come in. As I am the hostess of this amazing game, I shall be giving you daily challenges! Each team has to participate, and those that don't will be punished, so try not to get out of it." Penny said firmly. From beside her, Nicky cleared her throat.

"My purpose is more geared toward past games. Alongside the Challenge, I will issue a Motive. The person who decides to take that motive and use it will then become a blackened, a Class Trial will be held shortly after an investigation. We're basically giving you a good deal here. You all have a higher chance of survival if you take the Challenges instead. Hell, if you manage to survive 30 challenges in a row, we'll grant every single person freedom. But that's up to you!"

"You're serious… if we manage to win every challenge, you'll let everyone go?" Ernest asked curiously.

"Seems counterproductive, doesn't it?" Zalicka added, arms crossed as she looked at the hostess. "Normally, people like you want nothing more than to see us die."

"Believe me, we do. But we want to entertain the masses… right now, you guys are the difference between peace and utter anarchy. I mean, we kind of did nuke several key cities around the country. I'm sure the other nations are gearing up for war right now, so keep them entertained, and the war doesn't happen. It's a win-win in my book!" the hostess said happily.

"Indeed! And before we begin, let us issue the rules! All of them have been emailed to your personal scrolls. So be sure to read them will you?" the mechanical cat said. Everyone reached into their pockets, pulling out the personal scrolls they had been given.

Rule Number 1: All Students and Staff will remain within the Academy and live a communal lifestyle. Leaving the campus is not an option.

Rule Number 2: Nighttime will begin at 11:00 PM and end at 7:00 AM. Teleportation Panels to certain parts of the Academy will be shut down for the night. The Cafeteria shall also be off limits during this time.

Rule Number 3: The Augma 3.0 is a device that is issued by the Headmaster Herself. They must remain worn at all times. Failure to do this will result in immediate detonation of the explosive device implanted into each student and staff member's neck.

Rule Number 4: With minimal restrictions, the Students and Staff will be allowed to explore the academy at their leisure.

Rule Number 5: In order to unlock more areas of HHPA, Students will have to unlock them by completing team challenges. Team challenges will be given every single day.

Rule Number 6: Teams must partake in the given challenge. Every member of every team will be present and will have a shot at earning immunity from Elimination. Members of teams who do not partake in challenges will be punished. Those that earn immunity shall be given an immunity token. They may use it right away or save it for another occasion.

Rule Number 7: The Winning Team will earn immunity from elimination during that night. The Losing Team will immediately go to The Gallows to vote off a fellow Team member. Everyone must vote, and votes must be unanimous. Team Leaders are exempt from votes.

Rule Number 8: A student that is chosen for elimination will have one shot to earn immunity through a personal challenge. It however is a life and death challenge, if they win, they live another day, but if they don't, then they will be executed.

Rule Number 9: Students and Staff shall be given a Group Motive by Nicky, to incite Murder. A student that murders another student shall be labeled as a "Blackened"

Rule Number 10: When three people discover a body, an investigation shall be carried out soon thereafter. A Class Trial will be held soon after the investigation ends.

Rule Number 11: If a blackened is not discovered by the end of the trial, that person will be allowed to leave the killing game. If the blackened happens to have an immunity token, they can choose to bring an accomplice or one person of their choosing from the remaining students. Those that remain will continue the killing game until two people are left.

Rule Number 12: Execution is mandatory, unless one possesses an immunity token, they will be unable to get out of it. Staff members may appeal for a stay of execution, but this period will be given to the blackened for 24 hours. In which case, the student will still be executed.

Rule Number 13: Penny is the host of this special gameshow. Anyone who attempts to hurt or injure her shall be punished swiftly. Similarly, Nicky is the Show's mascot, meaning those that try to hurt her, will also be punished.

Rule Number 14: The Breaking down of School Property, including security cameras, school supplies, and various other things on campus without strict permission is forbidden.

Rule Number 15: Additional Rules may be added at The Host, Mascot and Mastermind's discretion.

"What… What the heck kinda rules are these?" Freyja cried, looking away from her scroll. "What do you mean we can't take these neck things off? What if we gotta charge them?"

"You have all been provided with chargers. As stated in the rules, your Augmas must remain on your neck at all times. If you take them off, well… let's just say something bad will happen. Every single one of them has been implanted with a special explosive… so if you feel brave, try to take it off, I dare you."

"I see… the reason why we must wear these is simple… the Augmented Reality cameras in the school must be the main tools of their trade. What was once created to aid the student body is now being used as a weapon against us, how typical." Naveen said, frowning. "The Loa is not at all happy with this turn of events… but sadly there isn't much we can do on the matter, is there?"

"Nope… Win a challenge, find a bobble, and get yourself outta here! That's all there's to it. Now then, the final thing we have left to do is introduce your Team Leaders! You've met them all before, but the nation surely hasn't. So let's welcome the Former Staff members of HHPA!"

The doors on the side of the Gymnasium slowly opened, four figures stepped out into the light. Riyo, Tanzo, Ashe and Kaguya were being guided by what looked like drones, each having what looked like a gun aimed at them. They all noticed the bomb collars strapped to their necks, glowing brightly, much like the Augmas everyone was wearing. They were forced to stand at Penny's side. Ashe and Riyo had looks of fear on their faces, while Tanzo looked angry, but calm. Kaguya didn't seem at all bothered, if she was she was doing a good job of hiding it.

"Riyo Arioka, your team is the Screeching Eagles, Tanzo Burckhard, you get the Ghastly Ghouls and finally, Ashe you get the Killer Gophers. Your roles have been explained to you. You will issue the challenges to your teams and will help them win said challenges. If you fail to do your tasks, your lives will be forfeited, is that understood?"

"Regretfully," Tanzo said, glaring at the young woman. "Never you fret, we will handle our tasks to the letter, none of us wish to die after all,"

"As long as you don't hurt my little Christophe, I'll do whatever you ask," Ashe added, standing fearfully with her assigned team.

"I… I can't believe this… I'm so sorry class, I'm an awful teacher!" Riyo cried. Peter knelt down before her, giving her a pat on the head.

"Don't worry, Miss Arioka. This wasn't your fault, you are still our homeroom teacher, let's just do as they say for now." he said softly.

"What about her?" Hermione asked, pointing to Kaguya. "She's part of our class too isn't she? Our team only has 9 students. Why isn't she with us?"

"Hey yeah! This hoe has a point, why the fuck ain't she on our side?" Cleavance asked, earning a wide eyed glare from Hermione. She had half a mind to punch him for that insult.

"That's because her role is more important. You see, she's the Student Council Chief of Staff. Meaning she'll be getting instructions directly from the Mastermind and issuing them to your Team Leaders! Challenges, Motives, Bobble Locations, everything will be passed on to her. That also includes rewards for winning challenges. You could say, she's the most important person in this game, don't you all try to kill her at once!"

"S-sorry… I was offered this position by the Headmaster… I didn't think it would be twisted like this," Kaguya said, bowing her head.

"Don't worry, it isn't your fault. The fault lies with the Mastermind of this sick game," Lyonel said softly.

"So that's it then?" Anton said, after a few moments of silence. "You all are just going to stand there and accept these terms?"

"Wake up and smell the roses, my guy. If we go against these rules, all of us will die, or worse. I don't even want to think about the alternative," Sasha said, refusing to meet the man's eyes.

"I'm with her. Sorry, but dying wasn't on my to do list." Aaron added.

"Mhmm, it wasn't wake up, make breakfast, jog, science experiment, die. Not on it! It wasn't on it!" Rin snapped angrily.

"You're telling me girl. Ah got seven wedding requests since ah came to this academy. Wasn't thinking some fockin reprobate was goin' tah slap me into a killin' game." Ophelia said, shaking her nearly empty flask. "Ah ain't gonna let this wee lass kill me. And wipe that stupid grin off yer face,"

"Who? Moi?" Penny asked, giving the woman the brightest grin she could muster.

"Aye, ye got a face like a skelped erse, I'll tell ya wot."

"Oi, speak clearly would ya? I can't understand what the fuck you are saying," Cleavance said, clearly annoyed. Ophelia just glared at him, flipping him the bird.

"Guys… guys come on. LISTEN!" Anton cried, his voice echoing through the gym. "We cannot let these people control us! We cannot let them force our hand. There are more of us then there are of them! We can easily overpower them!"

"Yeah right… Did you forget we have bombs in our necks?" Ernest asked, brow quirked as he stared at the blond. "I'm sorry but I don't think I'm gonna risk my life for a coup-de-tat!"

"Believe me, I would love nothing more than to sink my knife into this robot's brain," Tanzo added, crossing his arms as he stared at Penny. "But right now, it isn't a wise decision. Not when we have several things against us. The Mastermind doesn't just have access to the entirety of the school, but she has access to the armory. How do we know there aren't more robots like this one armed to the teeth?"

"Actually sir, I'm not a robot! I am a highly advanced Cybernetic Police Unit. Or a CPU for short! My original programming was meant to allow me to be the Captain of the Force. But I was given a better purpose," Penny said, twirling a stand of hair between her fingertips. "Besides, my filthy father donated my still living body to this academy and retrofitted it with cybernetics… While I was awake might I add. So why shouldn't I make his students suffer a little bit?"

"So you're just takin the piss on us then? I will not allow that!" the Supreme Chosen One cried, stepping out in front of the hostess. "You think you can just come into our lives and force us to play your games? Let's end this farce before it begins."

"Oh? I see… you are letting your hero complex do the speaking for ya… but I can see you're quaking in your boots. Think you can defeat me in battle with that puny sword?" the cyborg asked, a smirk appearing on her face. "Well, let's put it to the test shall we?"

"Anton, are you an idiot? Do you wanna fucking die?" Hermione said, giving the man a worried look. He shook his head, a confident smile on his face.

"I am a First Lieutenant in the British Reclamation Council. I've been fighting insurgents, monsters and other dastardly creatures since the fall of the English Crown. I have fought against the tyranny of the New Queen, and I will fight to free my nation, just like King Arthur has done in the past. I will not falter, especially now of all times. So as the Supreme Chosen One, I shall put my life on the line to save the lives of my classmates!" he said firmly and confidently.

"N-no! Mister Grey, you shouldn't do that… you're gonna get hurt! You could die!" Joel said nervously, still clinging to Nodoka's arm. The blonde idol scoffed, shaking her head.

"Let him fight her if he wants, in the end it's his life, not ours."

"That's so mean of you Rika Nyan Nyan! Why would you say something like that about your friend?" Ninian added, earning a giggle from the girl.

"When did Rika Nyan Nyan say she was friends with that loser? If he wants to die for Rika then he can go ahead and do it. Best of luck! I wish you a nyan-nyan good time!" she said, winking at the boy.

Throughout all of this, Penny had remained silent, letting the cameras roll to get the juicy scene before her. She let out a giggle, finally throwing her head back in a laugh. Everyone looked back at her, shocked by her actions. She wiped a stray tear from her eye, trying to calm herself down.

"This is… this is magnificent. So, Hero-kun wants to try his hand against the Queen? I suppose I shall grant him that. What do you say, Nicky?"

"Nyah! I say go for it, it'll make the ratings skyrocket!"

"Hmm… alright. The Boss isn't saying anything against it, so I guess it's a go. Now, normally I would issue your challenges, but I've decided to give you all a break today. Or rather, I am going to issue a single challenge, one that our esteemed Chosen One, will be participating in." Penny said. She snapped her fingers, causing the entire gymnasium to start glowing brightly.

"What… What the hell is going on?"

"The Gym looks like it's breaking apart!"

"Calm yourselves, it's all in your heads. The Augma is projecting something new!" Lyonel cried out, making sure to keep everyone calm.

They all watched in amazement as the gymnasium disappeared entirely, large pixels swam in their vision, rearranging themselves into something entirely new. All around them, stone walls rose from the ground, towering up high above them. Torches sparked to life on every corner of the room, as a giant iron chandelier swirled above them, seven hundred tiny little candles all bursting into flame, throwing the otherwise dark room into the light. The wooden floors beneath them slowly disappeared, being replaced entirely by sand. The drones floated around the entirety of the new space, filming every single inch of it. Penny let out a giggle, twirling around for a moment before addressing the students.

"Welcome one and all to HHPA's very own Arena! What you are all seeing is a space created entirely by the Augma. Using the Operation System of the Neo World Program, everyone who wears our fancy neck collars will be taken to a brand new world. You aren't in Hope Hills anymore, you are in a stage of my making!"

"Heh… so this is the true reason you don't want us to take these things off eh?" Briar asked, crossing his arms. "You want us to be ready for your stupid challenges at any time. Springing new fields, rooms and places just to fuck with us. This over reliance on technology is going to be your downfall girl."

"So you say!" Penny happily said. She held her hand out, a swirling light overtaking the entirety of it as she reached for her right hip, drawing out a beautiful sword, completely from thin air. It was a rather plain looking long sword, black in color with a silver edge, as sharp as a razor. She rested it on her shoulder, looking directly at the blond teenager. "Well come forth challenge, you wanted to face off against moi, then do it. Draw your sword like a man, lest you turn tail like the bitch you are."

"Anton, she's baiting you." Peter said, placing a hand on the man's shoulder. "You shouldn't do this,"

"I am in agreement," Ezekiel added, standing firmly at Anton's left. Her crimson eyes were barely visible through her mask, but her expression remained unchanging. She looked at the cyborg, eyes narrowed. "This young woman isn't like us, she is infinitely stronger than any of us hope to be. I would rather take my chances in the game then I would facing off against her,"

"Pfft… you guys don't know who you are talking too… I was chosen by Excalibur. This is my calling… I was chosen to be a hero. So I will! I'm going to set us free, so sit back, relax and watch a Master at work," the man boasted, as he walked into the field. A holographic wall rose between the group of students and the center of the arena, separating Anton and Penny from everyone else.

"So… anyone wanna make a bet?" Freyja asked, a catty-grin on her lips. "I got 10,000 smackaroos on Anton getting yeeted, any takers?"

"I haven't got ten grand, little lady. If not, I would meet your call," Kevin said, smirking. "Though if you'd like, I can draft an IOU and have you save it for later."

"Meh… works for me, anyone got a pen? I'm about to scam this sucker out of house and home!"

"I'm surrounded by idiots," Lugh mumbled under his breath.

"Could be worse," Heather said from behind him, tugging on her bag straps. She had a firm look on her face, unlike the cheery expression she held before. "I fear we are about to see the extent of her power… perhaps it wasn't a wise idea to come here after all. We weren't prepared for this,"

"What are you two going on about? Having a private chat? It isn't nice to hold secrets from anyone, you know. It isn't very Cash-money of you, desu." Clara said, causing the two to jump in surprise.

"Everyone stop talking! Can't you see there's history in the making here? Someone is going to die and I wanna enjoy my front row seats nya!" Nicky cried out in an excited tone. "I swear, if his blood doesn't spew from his neckhole like a fountain, I'm done!"

"So, what are your terms then, milady?" Anton said, hand on the hilt of his sword as he stared Penny up and down, sizing her up for battle.

"It's simple… you beat me, you and your little buddies get to go free. But if I beat you… well let's just say all of you will start tomorrow's challenge at a disadvantage."

"That's fine by me. I'll have you know, I was trained in swordplay by one of the Generals in the BRC, someone who descends from the knights of old. I'm not going easy on you," the man boasted, as he finally drew the Holy Sword from its scabbard. Though the blade was glowing, its glow was opaque, as if it wasn't at it's full power.

Penny rolled her eyes, gesturing for him to throw the first swing. Anton of course, took the bait, sprinting toward the cyborg, pulling his sword back. He let out a cry as he swung it, aiming for the young woman's neck. A loud clang echoed through the arena, as Penny easily guarded the attack, single handedly no less. She pushed the blond man back, spinning her sword around her hand as she got ready to fight back.

Anton swung Excalibur just in time to parry her attack, sparks raining around them from the clash. He stepped out of the way of her follow up, throwing a jab at her side. The cyborg managed to parry it, delivering a fierce kick the Supreme Chosen One, sending him sprawling to the ground.

"Gah… she's… a lot faster than I thought," he thought to himself, as he reached for his sword. He swung in time to block her downward strike, allowing him to sweep her off her feet. He gained a bit of distance from her, panting a bit as he retook his stance. "You're a pretty good fighter."

"Basic sword-fighting is among my subroutines. What, did you think because I'm a girl I can't hold a sharp pointy stick? I'll have you know, I am an officer of the law!" Penny said, swinging her sword around, slicing the air before her. "And I think I'm close to making my first arrest,"

"What?" the man said, clearly taken aback. The young woman sprung forward, aided by her rocket powered legs in her strike. She swung her sword full force, only to be countered by Excalibur. Anton let out a cry of pain, feeling the vibrations of their clash through his arms. "Ack… what the fuck?!"

He pushed her back, only for her to giggle at his resistance. She elbowed him in the stomach, pulling her sword back. Anton only had a moment to block her attack, being sent sprawling to the ground again. "What's wrong Mister Hero? I thought you were going to beat me and save your friends?!"

Anton wiped his lip, spitting at the ground. "Oh I am… it is my duty as the Supreme Chosen One! I was given Excalibur so that I could save the people that need saving. I will not let your tyranny destroy us!"

Penny tilted her head slightly, as she saw the blade in his hand begin glowing. It was a slight golden sheen, as it absorbed the magical power around it. She smirked, twirling her sword around, pointing the tip at the man. "Well come at it, you wanna free your friends from tyranny right? Then go for it. Cut my head off, earn your freedom!"

"HAAAAHHHH!"

"He's going to die out there," John mumbled, a frown on his face as he continued watching the fight. Everyone was much in the same state, save the very few who didn't care about Anton's fate.

"He should have taken a strength tonic before going in there, alas I didn't have time to hand it to him before he left," Louise said, frowning. She took her ornate hat off her head, holding it over her heart. "It was nice knowing him, but I don't think he's coming back to us."

"We must believe, ladies and gentlemen. If we believe in his ability to win, then he will come back to us. He has a sword blessed by God himself, with its power he will exorcise the evil in this institution."

"You are giving him way too much credit," Kevin replied to the angel, arms crossed as he watched the fight in front of him. Anton was holding his own, but Penny wasn't getting tired. Of course, she was a cyborg, she likely couldn't get tired. "If I'm being honest, he deserves to die."

"Why would you say that?" Joel snapped in anger. "No one deserves to die!"

"As much as I hate to agree with this dillhole, he's right." Alessia said, sighing. "Anton doesn't know what he got himself into. We don't know what makes Penny tick… if she's truly a cyborg, that means she's just toying with him. You actually think a human can kill a machine with a single sword?"

"Maybe if he was Kirito." Alivia said, looking up from her drawing tablet. She was trying to keep her mind off of the situation by drawing a comic. Of course, looking at her screen she saw two figures locked in combat, much like the battle before her. She hit delete, deciding to start fresh.

"Ladies and Gents, we have to believe in him. After all, our fates are in his hands. The Loa have given him their blessing. So he's certainly going to win,"

"Ugh, there you go with your voodoo bullshit again," Nodoka said, shuddering a bit. "Can you seriously stop talking about it? The last thing we need is you cursing us with your black magic."

"Voodoo is most certainly not black magic. It is a beautiful craft that has helped people throughout time. Even our resident Witch-Doctor believes in my practices. I only wish to entertain the masses with my puppets after all." the man said, giving the idol a smile. "Don't you believe me? We have all been blessed by the Loa after all,"

"Pfft… me? Believe you? Yeah no. I don't believe in this shit, I hardly believe in the magic we got now. You're telling me there are souls and shit out there that wanna protect our sorry asses? Sorry, but it's gonna take a lot more than puppets and fancy light shows to convince me." she said, turning her head away from the man. He let out a sigh, shaking his head.

"You...don't believe me? You would think nothing of mocking the mighty Loa…? ...I see. That's...disappointing. Oh well! Voodoo isn't for everyone. Perhaps your eyes may be opened to the truth, in due time." Naveen said, giving the young woman a smile. "For your sake, I hope they will be, non-believer."

Sasha sighed, as she continued snapping pictures of what was going on. She wanted to at least have a surviving account in case she didn't get out of the academy alive. It was pessimistic of her to think that way, but how things were beginning to look, she was losing hope. From beside her, Peter stood, his eyes tracing every single action the two fighters too. He had a disappointed look on his face, his hair barely shielding his eyes. She lowered her camera, poking his arm to get his attention.

"You doing okay?"

"Is it bad that I'm worried more about my sister's wellbeing than I am about this petty fight?" he asked. Sasha shook her head, narrowing her eyes a bit as she peered back at the arena.

"You aren't… if Nodoka wasn't here with me, I would be worrying about her wellbeing too. She's the only person I got in my life. She means the world to me, which is why I want to make sure she gets out of here. But playing into this sick challenge, that's what the Mastermind wants. She wants us to crack under the pressure. Anton's own hero complex put him in that arena. He only has himself to blame if he loses,"

"Aye." the Showman said, gaze shifting forward. "After the circus burned down, we had nothing. Me and Veronica lived on the streets, not even being able to go home. Our house in Bethel was destroyed by the initial onset of the Tragedy. Our little savings went to clothes and food… she became my only source of hope. The only reason I kept walking forward. I'm scared that she got killed out there, while we were sleeping in here."

"She isn't dead," the voice of the Supreme Pega-Sister said, causing the two to turn around. The young woman was standing firmly before the two, grasping the straps of her backpack in a white knuckled grip. "Someone like her, who's faced so much adversity in her short life… she has the strength to survive anything. Your sister will be fine, I trust that she will be. Not only that, but she might be the one to truly save us all."

"You really believe that, Heather?" Peter asked, earning a nod from the young woman.

"Eeyeup!" she replied in a low voice.

She grinned at the two, holding out a pair of wooden ponies to them, one holding a camera and the other wearing a top hat. The two noticed the other features, one was more masculine, and had a charming smile on its face, while another was more feminine, and had her mane tied into two equal ponytails.

"My gift to you two. A little Showpony and a cute Photographer Pony."

"How did you carve these in such little time?" Sasha asked, completely surprised by the young woman. She pressed her finger to her lips, giving her a wink.

"It's a secret."

A loud cry brought them back to the battle, Anton had managed to land a single strike on Penny. Her right arm was bleeding from the cut on her bicep. Her sword had fallen to the ground, useless as she clutched the new wound.

"Hah… you managed to actually land a hit on me, I'm impressed. But that alone isn't going to be enough!"

"That's why I'm going to end you with this final blow!" Anton cried, taking a deep breath. He spun his sword around, raising it high above his head. He closed his eyes, channeling his thoughts and strength into the sword. Small blinking lights started swirling around the blade, as it started glowing brightly.

"What the hell is he doing?" Hermione asked, captivated by the glowing sword.

"Seems to me like a power move… I wasn't aware Excalibur could do that," Robin said softly.

"No! He can't use that attack!" Ninian suddenly cried, the dazed look on her face being replaced with one of worry. She stepped to the front, being stopped by the magical barrier. "Anton Stop! YOU CAN'T!"

"The hell is your issue?" Briar asked curiously. She looked up at the giant, tears brimming her eyes.

"T-the legend of Excalibur… the attack he's going to use, if he hasn't unlocked the sword's true power, he could die from it!"

"Seems like a dumb drawback don'tcha think?" Cleavance said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Can you not do anything about it?" Zalicka asked, glancing at the former Staff members, who had been watching the fight, powerless to stop it. "Well? You are teachers here, don't you know how to deactivate this field?"

"I-I'm sorry, Miss Hajjar… we've lost our credentials, all we can do is sit back and watch," Riyo said, burying her face in her tiny hands. "I'm so useless!"

"Even if we could do something, getting between two fighters is a bad call. That would only end up with one of us dead," Ashe added, stuffing her hands in her jacket pockets. "Better him than me."

"How could you say that?" Ninian cried, glaring at the silver haired woman. "He is your student is he not? You as an adult should put his well being over yours!"

"He got himself in that mess right?" Tanzo asked, causing the woman to grit her teeth. "Then he should pay the consequences of his choice. Besides, we have a metaphorical and literal gun to our heads. We don't do as we're told, and it's our lives."

"He may be a classmate, but in this game all of our lives matter. I'm sorry, but I refuse to risk my life for his, he's on his own." Kaguya said firmly, looking away from the battlefield.

"Even if the teachers had their credentials, we wouldn't let them stop this… this is far too fun! Besides, why would we let you all spoil it. You all have to be taught a lesson, and in order for you to learn that lesson, your lives have to be put on the line! That's the only way you'll learn!" Nicky said, laughing. "Nyahahahaha! This is the best kind of game don't you agree?"

"Shut it, you dumb bucket of bolts!" Rin cried, cracking her knuckles. "If I could break you apart, I would. I'm not gonna let you and that stupid cybernetic halfwit stop me from finding my daddy, got it? My family is looking for me and when they realize where I am, they'll burn this fucker to the ground."

"Right, sure! Whatever you say," the cat said, yawning into her paw, a look of disinterest on her face. Ninian kept tapping the magical barrier, hoping to get Anton's attention, but it was all for naught.

The blond man's eyes snapped open, as the power gathered in his sword finally hit its peak. It swirled with energy, a holy light that was meant to cleanse the evil of the world. He closed his eyes, a small smirk on his face.

"This… is my true power. As the Supreme Chosen One, I shall destroy this evil in your name, King Arthur. May your power guide me." he thought, eyes opening once more.

"No… Anton… you aren't ready… the Miracle you wield in your hands… it is far too early for you to unleash its name." Ninian thought, as she closed her eyes. Yoshi glanced at the woman, shifting his gaze back to Anton, a frown on his face.

"I may not know what she's thinking, but it's clear he isn't ready. The sword of the Undefeated King… why does this paltry boy wield it? When it is clear that he is unfit to use it?"

"Ex...CALIBUR!"

With his shout, the man brought the sword down, sending the golden pulsing light at Penny. The young woman watched the light approach her, a smile on her face. In a fraction of a second, she dodged the attack. She darted forward, pulling her sword back as she swiftly approached the man. Anton's eyes widened as he took a step back, raising his sword in a vain attempt to block the attack. Penny swung her sword, sending a splash of blood flying through the air. In the same second, she threw a fierce kick at the Knight, sending him flying back into the wall. He landed in a heap in the back of the arena. The light died down, allowing everyone to see the battlefield once more. Penny swung her sword, cleaning it free of blood.

"You…. you cut my fucking arm off… what the hell is wrong with you!" he cried, clutching his bleeding arm, looking at the fallen limb on the ground. "How dare you? You are disgusting and a disgrace! You shouldn't be allowed to wield a sword!"

"You were a fool to challenge me, Supreme Chosen One." she said firmly, standing over the weakened boy. "I could kill you right now, but I won't… I would rather you suffer with the rest of your classmates!"

The arena around them started glowing, disappearing as if it had never been built. All around them, the familiar walls of HHPA's gymnasium. Penny swiveled around, frowning at the cameras around her. She snapped her fingers, causing the drones to be still. "I require medical transport. Take this man to the Nurse's Office will you?"

A pair of Automatons appeared in the gymnasium, using the Teleportation Pad. They walked in unison as they moved toward the fallen Anton. They lifted up with ease, hastily picking up his discarded limb and tossing it into an ice bucket, taking it along for the ride. The only thing left from him was a puddle of blood and the discarded Holy Sword. Penny knelt down before said sword, picking it up from the ground, looking at it.

"Pathetic… a useless waste of magical energy." she said, tossing the sword aside. She turned to face the remaining students, placing her hands behind her back. "As you can clearly see, Anton has just shit the bed. Meaning that none of you are leaving this wonderful game yet! That is but one challenge, and thankfully I decided to spare him. The next time he crosses blades with me, he will be sorry."

"You didn't have to injure him!" Lyonel said, glaring at the cyborg. "I'm sure we could have resolved this peacefully,"

"If I may, I am a doctor. Perhaps my expertise can be of some use?" Louise asked.

"Don't fret Gothy, we have the best nurse on call in the office." Penny said, brushing the young woman's offer off. "Now then… today has been a productive damn day. All of you need an explanation though, about the arena and what happened."

"Yes, an explanation will do all of us good," Lugh said firmly. "What was all of that about?"

"It's all part of our little game. We've been given the best tools here, and HHPA is going to be the first institution in the world to use AR tech like this! You see, whenever a challenge is issued, a field of my making will be presented! It's meant to level the playing field. Oh, and depending on the challenge, FullDive may be used,"

"FullDive?" Yoshi asked, sounding confused. "May I ask what FullDive is?"

"I can probably answer that," Aaron said, grabbing everyone's attention. "The Neo World Program was designed by three students of Hope's Peak Academy. It was a FullDive machine, capable of sending people to a virtual world. It was meant to be used as a device to treat neurological disorders, dementia, schizophrenia, things like that. A medical version was meant to be given to hospitals so that people with terminal diseases could use it. As a means to alleviate their pain while awaiting the inevitable."

"That is indeed correct! But when Hope's Peak Academy fell to despair, all of that information became public domain. So companies started developing tech surrounding it. The cameras in this academy? They used an Operating System developed from the Neo World Program!" Nicky said proudly. "The one we use here in HHPA is of my design, isn't that felines-knees? That a cute kitty such as I was able to use AR to its fullest?"

"Anything a despair loving despot creates is nothing but a tool for malice. I do not care for your technology," Ernest said, looking away from the cat.

"So wait… you mean to tell me all of us are in a simulation right now? The whole we are in an AI world thing is real? Oh this is hilarious!"

"Freyja, now is not the time for your antics. This is serious!" Peter cried, only for the plum haired girl to tap the underside of his chin with her umbrella, an annoyed look on her face. He swore he could see her hairpin glowing a bit.

"I posted something like this on the official forums, but I was ignored! You all looked at me like I was an idiot, not knowing what the fuck I'm saying huh?"

"Kid, I have no idea what kind of powder you snorted, but you are batshit. There is no fucking doubt about that. I heard you talking to yourself this whole time. So why don't you step aside and let the big kids talk, eh?" Kevin asked, causing the young woman to face him, her eye twitching.

"So I'm crazy, huh…Say, say, what do you think of people who believe in God? Billions of people around the world follow religions with belief as their main evidence and no one bats an eye, yet I'm criticised for believing we are all just AI in a simulation. Don't you think it's a bit unfair?"

"It is not unfair, uwu. It is hard for anyone who is normal to believe the drivel that comes from your mouth. Sumimasen, but I refuse to believe anything Freyja-hime says. She is insane desu~" Clara said, earning a confused look from the girl in question.

"She says I'm off my rocker but she's the one who's sprinkling a handful of weeb to her sentences. Jesus Christ, has science gone too far? Is this part of the conspiracy? Is the Illuminati involved? How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a Tootsie-pop? Will I ever find out these questions? Answer me Author only you can right the hellspawn that lies before me!" she thought, screaming in her mind. Penny cleared her throat, grabbing their attention once more.

"Not that this isn't fun, but I got a schedule to keep, kay?" the hostess said, tapping her invisible watch. "Now then, as Nicky rightfully explained. The cameras located all over this campus are in fact specially made Augmented Reality Cameras. The Augma around your necks are capable of sending signals to your brains. You get to see something that just isn't there. You get auditory and visual stimulation, even a bit of touch as well. But FullDive… that is the best kind of stimulation!"

"You all get to visit a completely virtual world! A world where anything can happen, and that is where our more exclusive challenges will be held. The world is going to start changing for all of you. Reality and Delusion will blend into a smorgasbord of real and fake! Is the world around you real? Are the people around you fake? Are you alive or dead? These are the questions we aim to answer. And that is what makes this the most exciting kind of game!"

"All of your dreams, nightmares, delusions, wants, needs… they've all been catalogued. You all think you were chosen at random by the Board? No… all of you are pawns in a chessboard of our Queen's making. She has followed every one of your moments, to tailor make this experience one unique to you!" Penny continued, taking over for Nicky as the two faced the gathered students.

"You mean to tell me… the Academy did this? They are allowing this? I refuse to believe it!" Riyo snapped angrily.

"I'm with her… there is no way the Headmaster would approve this!" Ashe said.

"Ah… but it wasn't the Headmaster that approved this, my dear students." A new voice, a familiar voice said. A holographic screen appeared before them, showing the silhouette of the Mastermind, who was hidden away somewhere in the Academy. "This game was orchestrated by me sure… but I had a little Federal Backing. I'm certain one of you knows exactly who I am talking about."

"Tch… of course, this runs deeper than the high school level. Leave it to the Government to be involved in this sick fuckshit," Tanzo said, shaking his head in disdain.

"Well… I wouldn't say the Government is entirely at fault. They're just a pawn on the chessboard, as are all of you. And as you move across my chessboard, you'll be rewarded. Who knows? Maybe you'll have what it takes to defeat the King. But while my Queen and my Knight are on the board, you will not be allowed to progress forward. Take my challenges, secure your spots on the board. Then, maybe, we'll have a match."

"It's just as my Queen says… on this board, she is the King, but I am her Queen, and I shall not take insolence from any of you. You are all lucky… you were chosen for a greater purpose. To fight Despair Head-on and decide the fate of this, the Land of the Free!" Penny said, holding her arms out, a smile on her face. "And that, is the true purpose of our little game, to entertain the masses!"

"Nyahahahaha! And now, the stage has been set. The Three Groups have been selected and their leaders are in power! If you want to get out of here, you'll have to play by the rules. Team Captains will issue your challenges and I shall issue a motive. Who's going to crack first I wonder? It's going to be fun watching you kill each other."

Everyone remained silent, unable to find the words to speak. Among them, there was a chuckle. A tiny little chortle that evolved into a laugh. This of course, was courtesy of the Supreme Showman, who tapped his cane onto the ground, squaring his shoulders as he rested his weight on it, leaning onto his cane, hat tipped back as he glared at the Hostess and Mascot of the Killing Game.

"We'll play your game, ladies. But you forget what this country stands for, the principle for which it was founded upon!"

"What? Saying fuck you to some fat fuck king in another country? What are you going to do? Throw tea into the harbor?" the redheaded cyborg said with a giggle. "Don't make me laugh."

"It isn't a joke my dear. There is rich history in this land, especially here of all places, the world forgot what it means to fight for freedom. And we shall do so with the strength of an entire nation behind us." the man said, bowing his head slightly as he continued glaring at the hostess. "But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and provide new Guards for their future security." He continued, speaking with firmness and confidence.

"Pfft… what does that mean?"

"It means, if there is something wrong, those who have the ability to take action have the responsibility to take action. The document you burned before us wasn't just some old trinket, it was a declaration of independence. And if you wish to bring war upon us, then we will fight. We shall pick up our swords, and our guns, and our fists, and we will fight, until you, your stupid cat and the Head Bitch in Charge are dead. We are not going to let despair consume us, defeat us, not when all of us have come this far in our lives." the man said firmly, giving the woman a grin as he held his gloved hand out. "Right here, right now… I put the offer out… and it's up to you to take it."

"Oh… I like you. I made the right choice in leading you to this academy." the Mastermind said, holding back the urge to giggle. "Consider your offer taken, my dear Showman. Let's hope this offer doesn't end with your death. We wouldn't want you joining your dearly departed duchess now would we?"

"All of you are dismissed. Each Team has been given a floor in the Presidential Wing, Eagles get the bottom, Ghouls get the second and the Gophers get the Third. You have also been given rooms for your teams to convene. While you may mingle with each other regardless of team, when the challenge begins, you will remain in your assigned teams. Though insubordination is encouraged, we need to raise our ratings somehow," Penny said absentmindedly.

"Let's give it everything we've got! Thrills, chills and kills! Nyahahahaha! I look forward to this amazingly good time. I need to get my good milk, I'm going to enjoy every single drop!" Nicky said. Penny gave the group a bow, turning on her heel and leaving, speaking into the drone cameras as she walked.

The Stage had been set, 33 souls, 29 students and 4 staff members would be facing off against despair. This was but one day in the new lives of the Supreme Students. HHPA's New Semester of Killing was just beginning, and no one knew if they would make it out alive. But one thing was certain, they would fight. They would fight for their freedom, just like the Founding Fathers fought in 1776."
