Rose stretched as she exited the C.O.O.L.B.U.S followed by the past operatives, Alex, and Bradley. She smiled as she looked around the moonbase. It was the same as she left it, but part of her thought she might never see it again. Her thoughts were interrupted as Charlee ran towards them, followed by a less enthusiastic Chris and Jason.
"Rose, guys, c'mon!" She said, pulling Rose's wrist into the main floor. "We've got almost everything planned! Aren't you so excited, we could actually win this! Oh, where's Will, Mindy, and Angie?"
"You're full of energy." Rose said. "Will and Mindy are doing that last minute thing, remember? And Angie..."
"Oh god, is he still mad at her?" Charlee asked.
"He didn't seem to happy." Rose sighed. "Char, give Will time. You should know better than anyone that he just needs time to cool down."
"I know." Charlee said. "Angie's just good for him. She's not toxic, evil, or bitchy."
"He was less of a ginger with her." Bradley added. "His face didn't match his hair all the time."
"That's not true." Alex smirked. "Maybe when he was getting fucked by her, but before then, just the mention of her name would turn his whole body red."
"What are you guys talking about?" Jason asked sleepily.
"Angie and Will are fighting." Charlee explained. "Turns out, she told our parents and Mindy that we were their kids. Will didn't take it too well."
"Are they broken up?" Jason asked.
"Not yet, I don't think." Alex said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. He put one in between his lips as he lit it up. "All they did was fight."
"Do you have to smoke in here?" Bradley complained. "Can't you do it when we get back on earth?"
"I don't tell you what to do, Brads." Alex retorted, as he blew a puff of smoke out.
"So, what exactly is this amazing plan?" Rachel asked as she walked towards them.
"You'll see." Rose said. "But it does involve what you guys got from Operation: Time."
"That's nothing much though." Hoagie pointed out. "It's stuff we already know."
"The grandfather thing?" Bradley questioned. "We didn't know that."
"You've never heard of Operation: ZERO?" Nigel asked.
"What's that?" Charlee asked.
"It's literally probably our biggest mission ever." Nigel said. "How have you never heard of it?"
"That's what I'm wondering." Rose said. "If it's your biggest mission then why have we never heard of it?"
"We're here!" Mindy yelled as she, Will, and the adult Nigel entered the moonbase. "Ready?"
"Wait." Chris said as he approached the adult Nigel.
"Have you ever heard of a mission called 'Operation: ZERO'?" He asked his father.
Nigel's eyes grew when Chris mentioned it.
"How did you find out about it?" The adult Nigel asked.
"They told us." Rose said. "What happened that we wouldn't known about it?"
"It's a long story." Nigel tried to explain. "Is there any way I could get the rest up here?"
"Sure." Rose said, narrowing her eyes. "I'll send Will and Alex to get them."
"Rose do we have time?" Bradley asked.
"Definitely, I woke us up early just in case Charlee and Will have a 'bad hair day', which would set us back a couple hours." Rose said.
"Hey!" Will and Charlee exclaimed.
Will and Alex came back with their parents thirty minutes later and led them into a room where Bradley, Rose, Charlee, Chris, adult Nigel, and the past operatives were sitting.
"So it looks like you do need us." Hoagie said as he entered the room. He sat down and folded his arms, staring at them intently.
"Actually, no." Rose said. "But we do need you to tell us what happened to a certain mission, called 'Operation: ZERO'?"
The color and smugness drained from Hoagie's face as Rose said those words. The adult Rachel then turned to the adult Nigel.
"You told them?" She growled.
"I didn't tell them." Nigel said. "They did!" He pointed to the past operatives.
"Shit!" She groaned.
"What are you guys talking about?" Chris asked.
"I'll explain." The adult Wally said, cracking his knuckles. "It's all their fault."
"Wally!" They all exclaimed.
"It's true!" He said. "I knew we shouldn't taken that bribe! I knew it would come back to bite us in the ass!"
"What bribe?" Rose asked.
"I'll explain." The adult Rachel started. "When we were fourteen, we were all decommissioned for something, I can't remember what, but it happened. And with that, some of us were sent to live in different countries and states."
"It turns out, it was a splinter cell that there had been talks about at the time." Nigel explained. "Their main goal was to get rid of us, so they could have control."
"And they did." Hoagie said. "But only for about a year, until Tommy, Paddy, Sonia, Lee, Lydia, and Harvey got into the TND. They managed to get the recommissioner and get our memories back."
"By the time we were back in, the TND was pretty divided." Abby said. "The splinter cell then gave us an offer to sign a treaty deal, where we would be reinstated as the leaders, as long as we agreed to erase Operation: ZERO from the archive."
"Which I believe the person with the highest education immediately refused to do." Wally piped up.
"It was the simplest solution." Rachel sighed. "No fighting within the organization, everything going back to the way it used to be."
"So we took it." Fanny said. "And they erased the operation."
"And here we are today." Wally said. "Many years after I told you all it was a huge mistake. Ah, how the tables have turned. Who's the smart one now?"
"Wally, just this morning I had to give you an EpiPen after you ate an Almond Joy." Kuki said.
"It doesn't matter." Wally said. "Everyone here thought I was the dumbass of the group. Well, who's the dumbass now?"
"Wally, you're a doctor and you ate something you know you're allergic to." Fanny said. "And just to point out, you're not actually a doctor. You're a nurse practitioner."
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait." Hoagie said. "He's not actually a doctor?"
"I have my doctorate!" Wally proclaimed.
"But you didn't do a residency." Fanny retorted.
"You've been making us call you 'Dr. Beatles' even though you're a nurse practitioner?" Charlee asked.
"I'm technically a doctor!" Wally said. "Maybe not a MD, but a doctor in the medical field."
"You've been making us think you were a MD, when you are a nurse practitioner!" Hoagie laughed. "That's fraud!"
"I AM A DOCTOR!" Wally yelled. "Technically, if you have an English doctorate, you're a doctor. And they can call you, doctor. So, why can't I, who has a doctorate in nursing, which is more valuable, since I, y'know, SAVE LIVES, be considered a doctor!"
"You would have died this morning if I hadn't saved your life with an EpiPen." Kuki commented.
"SHUT UP!" Rose then screamed. Everyone became silent.
"As useful as that conversation was, considering our predicament and lack of time, let's move on." Rose said. "Now, YOU GUYS DID WHAT?!"
"Let a corrupt group erase one of the most important operations in Next Door history, so we could have our fancy titles back?" Kuki said.
Rose put her head in her hand and sighed.
"Why is it that everything you guys did led to chaos?" Rose asked.
"Hey, we made you!" Rachel said.
"And look where we are now!" Rose said. "Eight washed up operatives, their past selves that we kidnapped, and six current operatives who are all recovering from physical or mental trauma."
"Rose." Chris said.
"Don't Rose me, Chris." Rose said. "I mean, it's the truth. If these idiots hadn't made such irrational decisions, like erasing the most important operation, or getting knocked up with us, then all this wouldn't be happening."
"Rose-" Bradley began.
"Honestly just think about it." Rose said. "This organization and everything it stands for, which I have been pouring all my energy into protecting since I was seven, would have been just fine if I hadn't been born. Or any of us, really!"
"Rose-" Charlee tried.
"I mean I have been spending all my life trying to undo all of your mistakes when in reality," Rose said. "I'm the mistake."
"Rose, honey-" Rachel tried.
"Don't you dare." Rose said with malice in her tone. "Try to coddle me right now. You're the reason all this is happening! Maybe if you just kept it in your pants, everything would be fine! But no! You couldn't even think to look at the fucking condom and check if it was good to use! And then you had to have me and Chris, only to give us away! Sure, it was a hell of a lot better than Will, Alex, and Charlee's situation, but I still wondered every single fucking day, why didn't they want me, why did they give me up, ever since I was seven! I understand it better now, I understand that money was a huge issue, but it still hurts! And Rachel, when you came to Cleveland with that little girl when I was eleven-"
"Rose, stop!" Rachel said firmly. "How did you know about that?"
Rose paused to wipe the tears out of her eyes from where she had began to cry.
"I had known who you where since I joined the KND." Rose said. "And one day, me and Charlee were patrolling the neighborhood, and I saw you with a baby. I had recognized you from old photos. I wanted to go up to you, but I couldn't. It hurt to much to see you with another baby."
"Rose-" Rachel said, heartbroken.
"I know I this shouldn't be a big deal to me, considering that my closest friends have had way worse of lives than me." Rose said. "But, it still hurts, that both you and Nigel have other kids now. I mean sure, my mom is amazing, and I understand that family isn't just blood, but I don't know." Rose sighed. "There's always been a part of me that wondered what it would have been like if you were my mom."
Rachel didn't say anything as tears streamed down bother her and her daughter's faces.
"We should go." Rose said after a moment of silence. "You guys should to, except for you Nigel, we still need you if you don't mind."
"Of course not." Nigel said silently.
"Thanks." Rose said.
Everyone began to file out of the room until just Rachel and Rose were left.
"One more thing." Rose said. She then took off the ruby ring that Rachel had accidentally stole from the department store all those years ago when she went into labor with Rose and Chris, and handed it back to her.
"You kept it?" Rachel asked as she held it in her hand.
"Yeah." Rose said. "Wore it every day."
"Why are you giving it to me now?" Rachel asked.
"I don't think I need it anymore." Rose said.
She then left.
"Alright, is everything in place?" Rose asked Jason as she walked back into the main entrance.
Jason looked up to see all of them their, in suits, and ready to fight. Some looked a little upset, but for the most part, they seemed fine.
"Yeah, everything's ready." Jason said. "How do you know they'll be here?"
"Yesterday, Lindsay didn't return and me and Bradley were allowed to leave the hospital." Rose explained. "They'll be here soon."
"Okay." Jason said. "Lindsay and Mateo are back with this other thing, which I'm not for sure will work."
"It will." The past Rachel said. "We know it will."
"Okay, well then what do we do next?" Jason asked.
"Sit and wait." Rose shrugged.
"Which we may not have time to do." Will said. "Look!"
Sure enough a battleship came up out of nowhere, causing everyone to grab their mustard guns, while Chris and Rose ran from the room to grab the secret weapons.
As Lizzie and Father stepped off the ship, they were met with Charlee and Will, both aiming mustard guns at them. Lizzie laughed and moved them with the device that allowed her to raise and suspend them in the air, and threw them against the wall. They landed with grunts as Lizzie and Father cackled.
More villains began to enter the main room while kids and teenagers began to fight back, emerging into an all out battle.
"Rose!" Bradley said into his communication device as he fought off a candy pirate. "Where are you and Chris with the plan?"
"Just a minute." Rose said as she helped her great-grandfather down a hallway.
"Who are you again?" The man who was once Grandfather asked.
"I'm Rose." Rose said. "Rose Uno. You don't remember, but my dad Nigel used to take me to see you in your retirement home when I was little. I'm your great- granddaughter." Rose smiled, hoping he would believe her lie.
"Oh," He said. "You were quite a cute little girl."
"Thanks." Rose smiled. Sure, she felt a life bad for lying to the old man, but he was once one of the worst villains ever. Or so, Angie told her.
"So, apparently," Angie had explained. "Your great-grandfather, or as he was once known Grandfather, was a villain who wanted Nigel's dad to team up with him and had enlisted Father to get him to join.
"Father tried everything, and never got anywhere, so his dad called him a failure, and broke Father's heart."
"Wow." Rose had said. "So I don't have just an Uncle who's evil, but a whole line of evil assholes."
"Glad that's what we focus on." Angie grunted. "Want to hear about Lizzie?"
"Sure." Rose shrugged.
"As you know, Lizzie had dated your dad when they were like ten." Mindy explained.
"Yeah." Rose grimaced, not wanting to be reminded that her dad dated that.
"Well, Lizzie and him got into this big fight right after the news broke about your mom being pregnant, and it ended with him telling her that he never loved her, which broke her heart." Mindy said.
"So, they both had their hearts broken by people the loved and admired." Rose said.
"Pretty much." Mindy said. "Why?"
"I think I know what to do, but it may be risky." Rose said, smiling.
"What do you mean?" Mindy asked, confused.
"How hard do you think it would be to break into a retirement home in England?" Rose said.
"I was thinking the same thing." Angie said with a smile.
So here they were.
Rose had pulled some strings and had gotten her great-grandfather here, with promises to return him soon, while Chris was telling the present Nigel what he had to do to help with Lizzie.
They entered the main room, where everyone was fighting. Bradley was still fighting off candy pirates, while Charlee and Will were handling some of Boss's minions. Alex was helping Mindy fight off two of the board members, with the help of their past mother and father. Lindsay and Mateo were working against Mr. Boss, while the rest of the past operatives were working between Father and Lizzie.
"Lindsay!" Rose said into her communicator. "Find a way to focus Father and Lizzie on me and Chris!"
Lindsay was currently sitting on Mr. Boss's legs while Mateo and Oliver pinned him down.
"On it!" Lindsay said to her sister as she directed Mateo to grab Lizzie's attention.
"Oliver, get him to the artic prison, ASAP." Mateo instructed as he handcuffed Mr. Boss.
"On it." Oliver said as he and a few kids retreated, taking Boss to a nearby ship.
Lindsay then ran over to help the past Nigel, Rachel, and Fanny with Father and Mateo began to help Hoagie, Abby, and Patton.
Eventually, Lizzie managed to push the four of them out of her way, and fling them to a wall, only to be met with the face of the adult Nigel Uno.
"Nigel?" She said in horror.
"Hello, Lizzie." He said, glaring at her.
"What are you-what are you doing here?" She asked.
"You were tormenting my children to the point that they fought it was necessary to call me back in." Nigel said.
"They're not your children!" Lizzie said. "You gave them up!"
"Not because I wanted to!" Nigel said. "But because Rachel and I had to give them a better life than it would have been with us."
"You're not still with her." Lizzie said as her face turned sour. "Rachel."
"Maybe not," Nigel said. "But I was, and these are our children, which you have been torturing for years, just because of a breakup that happened over twenty years ago!"
"Well, you didn't have to flaunt it in my face!" Lizzie screamed.
"We didn't flaunt anything!" Nigel said.
"Uh, yeah, you and Rachel flaunted your relationship, and the fact you chose her over me all throughout high school!" Lizzie said.
"When she was pregnant!" Nigel exclaimed.
As Nigel and Lizzie fought, Mateo, the past Nigel, Rachel, and Fanny began to guide Father over to where Rose was. Mateo then suddenly stepped back, the other three following his lead.
"What, are you going to give up?" Father laughed.
"Nope." Rose said. "Just bringing out a new weapon."
"What, a mayonnaise gun?" Father laughed.
Rose then stepped out of the way to reveal his father, standing there.
"Father?!" Father gulped.
"Ben?" Grandfather asked. "Is that you?"
Father's suit stopped flaming as he talked to his father, stepping closer.
"Ben, what are you doing in a suit like that?" Grandfather asked. "Couldn't that catch something on fire?"
"Father, I made you one exactly like it!" Father said. "You wore it when-when..."
"When?" Grandfather said. "Oh, bugger, who cares? Anyways, how's your brother? I haven't seen Monty in forever. Oh he had so much potential, to be apart of the family business. Which was...tapioca sales?"
"Father!" Father screamed. "I'm the one who had the potential! I'm the one who wanted to help you, and I'm the one you should be proud of!"
"So you say Ben." Grandfather said. "I just remember Monty being so full of potential."
"FATHER!" Father screamed. "WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO EVEN GET A "GOOD JOB, BEN!" FROM YOU!"
"Good job, what, being a flame?" Grandfather said.
Father's eyes turned into fire as he screamed in frustration. As he did this, Bradley and Rose snuck behind him and grabbed him by the end of his robe and tore it off of him, revealing his true self.
"YOU LITTLE BRATS!" He screamed.
As it fell off, Chris tackled him to the floor, and wrestled with him as Bradley and Rose tried to help him.
"What, you think you can stop me Chris?" Father laughed as he pinned Chris to the ground. "You never stood a chance against me, Lizzie, or anyone for that matter. And speaking of that, how's the shoulder?"
Chris then got up and aimed him mustard gun at him. Father looked up at him, unafraid.
"What going to shot me with you little mustard gun?" Father asked. Chris only glared and shot the mustard gun splattering mustard into Father's eyes. Father swore as it hit his eyes, which allowed Rose and Bradley to handcuff him.
"Bradley, take him to the Arctic prison!" Rose said.
"I'll be out in no time!" Father yelled at Rose. "You can't keep me there forever!"
"Yeah, what will you do with out this!" Chris yelled, picking up what was left of the suit.
"I'll find a way, you little brats!"
As Father was led away, Lizzie and Nigel continued their fight, which was getting more and more hateful. Lizzie then noticed Father being led away and Chris spilling water onto his suit. She then pulled out her device and moved Nigel away from her, and used it on Chris. They were both flung against a wall, as she stalked over to Rose, who was running to help Charlee with a board member.
"Not so fast." She said as she pulled Rose to her and stuck a gun into her side. Rose stopped immediately, and turned to glare at Lizzie.
"What?" Rose growled.
"So you took down Father. I applaud you on that, but it couldn't have been too difficult, after all he was getting old anyways." She sneered.
"I thought you were occupied." Rose said.
"I was, but this was too important." Lizzie said. "I couldn't let you of all people get away."
"Why?" Rose said. "Because I'm just living proof that my dad didn't live you in high school, or for that matter, ever? Because I look so much like my mom, who my dad did love? Or is it because you know that at the end of the day, I'll win?"
"You won't win." Lizzie said. "I'll make sure of that."
"And I'll make sure to always remind you that my dad fell in love with another woman, and I'm the product of that." Rose said. "And that the future you always dreamed of having with him, the wedding, the house, the kids, will never happen because of me, my brother, and my little half-sister."
"Shut up!" Lizzie yelled.
"I'm the reason you're so unhappy, I'm the reason he never fell back I love with you!" Rose screamed.
"Shut up!" Lizzie screamed back.
"Your pathetic life has been devoted to hating me, and my family, just because he didn't love you and never will!"
"SHUT UP!" Lizzie screamed and fired her gun into Rose's side.
Rose fell over as Lizzie laughed. She was then tapped on the shoulder and turned around to meet a very angry adult Rachel McKenzie's fist.
"You bitch!" Rachel screamed.
The adults had appeared out of a hallway, and raced to aide their children, most of whom were fighting against Board members (well, their weapons at least). Nigel was helping Chris up and was making their way over to Rose on the ground.
When they had heard the gunshot, Charlee, Will, Bradley, and Alex had all stopped in their tracks, and had tried to work their way over to Rose. Seeing their distraction, the board members had retreated into their ships, followed by other minor villains. Everyone had rushed over to where Rose was laying, where and Lizzie and Rachel had begun fighting.
"Is she okay?" Nigel asked, worried for his daughter.
Charlee and Lindsay had began to look for the gunshot wound, removing the top part of the suit, to reveal Rose had a bullet proof vest on underneath.
"I'm fine." Rose smiled. "I slipped this on in case Lizzie decided to try anything."
Lindsay pulled her sister into a hug, and helped her up, to see that Rachel had been pulled away from Lindsay by the adult Kuki and Fanny, while Will and the adult Patton had slipped handcuffs on her.
"Let me go, Fanny!" Rachel screamed as she kicked against her. "Let me show that bitch-"
"Rachel!" Rose yelled. Rachel didn't pay any attention. "Mom!"
Rachel immediately stopped resisting Fanny and Kuki and looked to see Rose standing, no gunshot wound.
"Rose!" Rachel cried. Fanny and Kuki released her and she ran to her daughter and pulled her into a hug, which Rose gladly accepted.
"I thought- I thought-" Rachel cried.
"I had a bullet proof vest under." Rose cried. "I'm okay."
"Oh, honey." Rachel cried.
Alex, Charlee, Bradley, and Chris appeared behind them, smiling.
"Nice to see her not yelling at her." Alex smiled. He had a few scratches on his face, but nothing to major.
"Yeah." Charlee said with a smile, revealing that she had a missing tooth. Alex noticed immediately, his eyes widening.
"What?" Charlee asked, with a slight lisp.
"Um." Alex said. "I'll tell you later."
A few hours later, after the battle, Rose, Charlee, Chris, Will, Bradley, and Alex had led the past operatives into a room, the room they had first came to the future in.
They had cleaned up and were, for the most point, uninjured. Alex had eventually told Charlee her front tooth was missing, causing a small freak out, but was calmed by promises of taking her to the dentist after they had sent the past operatives home. Fanny and Patton offered to take her, which Charlee accepted, knowing that her insurance would never pay for it.
"I guess this is it." Rachel said, turning to the six.
"Thank you again, so much." Rose said. "You guys helped us so much."
"Well, we are the most successful operatives, like ever." Hoagie shrugged.
"And we're really sorry about all the secrets," Chris started.
"The lies," Bradley added.
"The times we put you in mortal danger." Will added
"Everything really" Charlee said with her lisp.
"Not a problem." Rachel shrugged. "Although can we know some things about the future now?"
"Here." Chris said, giving her a list. "Things to prepare for."
"Stock up on toilet paper in December of 2019?" Rachel asked.
"Make sure you have plenty of food by February of 2020?" Nigel questioned.
"Save all free subscriptions until March of 2020?" Abby read.
"You'll want to be prepared for that." Will said.
"What is it?" Abby asked.
"You'll see." Bradley said. "Now, let's get you guys home."
"Wait can I ask one more question?" Hoagie asked.
"Sure." Rose shrugged.
"Who's president after Obama?" He asked.
The six shared looks before answering.
"Donald Trump."
"WHAT?!"
"You're kidding!"
"That can't be true!"
"Is this some kind of cruel joke?"
"That's a Simpson's episode though!"
"C'mon who is it, really?"
"How did this happen?"
"Don't send us back to that!"
At that moment, Charlee had wiped their memories of all events that had happened in the future and Bradley had fired up the time machine. They fell through, leaving the six alone in the room.
"Well, they took that as well as expected." Rose shrugged.
"What now?" Bradley said as he turned off the machine and walked out of the room.
"My tooth!" Charlee said.
"But you sound like a seven year old." Will laughed.
"Fuck off!" Charlee retorted.
A/N: Well, that only took me over half a year.
Sorry this took forever and ever, I've been distracted by college (which is online now, yay), work (I have an actual job!), and well my general laziness. I also became kind of obsessed with Queen and the BoRhap boys (mainly Ben Hardy and Roger Taylor, though I love them all).
Also, thank you to dancingdeaky (you have no idea how much I adore you new username!) and ameliaorg for your reviews back in July! I know it took me forever say this, but your reviews mean so much to me, and I absolutely love them!
Next chapter will be the last one, and will hopefully be up in less than eight months or so.
Constructive Criticism is welcomed!
Please Review!
