~June 29, 1991 ~

"That was a lovely Leaving Feast last night." Garnet said with a big yawn, as Fred, George and her settled into a car on the train. "The celebrating in the Common Room was ridiculous last night. I barely slept at all."

George sat beside Garnet, and across from Fred and Lee Jordan. "Serves you Snakes right for winning the House Cup again." Lee laughed.

"Whatever," she stuck her tongue out at him. "Jealous." she muttered.

"Oh please, everyone knows Snape favors the Slytherin. He hands out points left and right to you guys, and docks us constantly." Lee smirked.

"I earned any points I was given fairly." she frowned.

"Uh-huh." Lee gave a look.

George and Fred gave each other a look. Their friends were going to start fighting. They could feel it. They had to do something to stop it before it started.

"So Lee," Fred said, "Going to any Chudley Canons games this Summer?"

That got Lee and Fred into a conversation about Quidditch.

George watched as Garnet took a deep breath and relaxed. He smiled at her, she smiled back, then he turned to watch out the window. About 20 minutes later, Garnet must have fallen asleep, because she fell over and her head rested on George's shoulder.

Lee and Fred were chuckling quietly. "That's got to be quite uncomfortable." Fred grinned. He got up and helped lay her down, rolling his robe and placing it under her head on George's lap.

George was bright red, and he didn't know what to do with his arm. He settled for resting his hand on her shoulder.

He watched her sleep, snoring gently.

"You know it's obvious, right?" Lee grinned.

"What?" George looked up at his friend innocently.

Lee shook his head, "You like the Slytherin."

George's ears turned beet red, but he didn't deny it.

"You know how that would go over between the houses, though, right?" Lee added.

"Why? They accept her sitting with us at lunch." George argued.

"Gryffindors do, Slytherins don't. Have you heard some of the things she's called? I have." Lee shook his head in disgust.

"She's strong." Fred replied, "She'd be fine. If only Georgie would just tell her."

"Shhh! Don't wake her up." George glared at his brother and friend.

Lee chuckled. "I'm going to go find Angelina and Alicia. I'll talk to you guys later." He left the compartment.

Fred watched George, who was watching Garnet.

"Think Mum would let us have a friend over this summer?" George asked.

Fred thought about it, "I don't know. Didn't Dad say her dad works at the Ministry somewhere, so they kind of know each other." he shrugged, "Might be feasible."

George nodded. "Worth asking."

Fred nodded in agreement.

Two hours later, Garnet opened her eyes slowly and saw Fred grinning at her.

"Good morning sunshine, 'bout time you woke up." he said.

"Mmmph," she said as she turned onto her back and stretched. She looked up and saw George's face, ears red, looking down at her. She froze.

"Well now that you're awake, if you wouldn't mind... my legs have been asleep for the past hour and a half." George laughed.

"I'm sorry, George, you should have woke me up." she sat up quickly and scooted over.

"No worries, you were exhausted." George stood up slowly and stretched.

"Hey Georgie and I were talking," Fred said, "You want to come over sometime this summer? Didn't you say you live in Wimbourne?"

Garnet nodded.

"We live in Ottery St. Catchpole," he smiled.

"Oh cool, okay." Garnet smiled as her eyes flickered to George then back to Fred. "That's country side, right?"

"Yeah," Fred said, not sure what he just saw register on her face.

"Well when I get home, I'll find out what my folks have in mind for this summer and I'll send you an owl and we can figure it out from there?" Garnet suggested.

"Sounds like a plan." George smiled.

The trio talked for a while longer. Finally the train rolled in to Kings Cross Station in London.

As they departed the train, the Weasley Family was all standing, waiting for Charlie, Percy and the Twins.

Fred and George brought Garnet over to introduce her to their family.

"Mum, this is our friend Garnet." Fred said, pulling her over by her upper arm.

"Oh! How lovely to meet you my dear," Molly Weasley smiled at the young girl her sons presented to her.

"Pleasure to meet you as well, Mrs. Weasley." Garnet smiled.

"Oi, Dad, this is Garnet," George said.

"Ah, yes," Arthur shook her hand and smiled warmly.

"Garnet!" a woman called as she and a man headed in their direction.

"Mum!" Garnet smiled when the couple joined the group.

"'ello Arthur!" Garnet's father offered Mr. Weasley his hand to shake.

"Alatar! How goes it in the Department of Magical Creatures?" Arthur smiled.

"Not too bad, I'll be setting off next week to Scotland, apparently they've discovered some Lochness eggs hidden in someone's house." he shook his head. "We have to gather a small team as we'll be obliviating some folks."

"Ah yes," Arthur nodded, "Just as bad as those Dragons found in Ireland last year I dare say." Arthur looked at Garnet smiling. "Seems our children have found each other at school."

"You boys looking out for my girl?" Alatar smirked at the Twins.

"Of course, sir." they said in unison.

"Daddy," Garnet interrupted before he could interrogate them, "Fred and George would like me to visit over Summer holiday. Do you think we can talk about it?"

Alatar looked at his wife, then to Arthur and Molly and smiled, "I'm sure something can be planned." The adults all smiled.

"Yay!" Garnet smiled, as did the Twins.

"We'd best be off, darling," Amethyst, her mother, said.

Garnet nodded, then hurried to hug the Twins quickly, "I'll send you an owl next week."

"Okay," they said.

"Bye Percy! Have fun in Romania Charlie!" Garnet waved at the boys and followed her parents, looking forward to Summer Holiday.

George kept looking at his watch as he laid in bed that morning.

After the zillionth time, Fred sighed, "Why don't you just go ahead and get up. Mum's probably up already anyways."

George thought about it a moment, then got up and got dressed. "You getting up?"

"Nope," Fred rolled over and covered his head with his blanket.

George went downstairs where his mum was busily making breakfast for the entire family.

"Mum, what time did Mrs. Prince's letter say Garnet would be coming through the Floo?" George asked.

"Good morning Fred and George," she turned and stopped. "Oh, sorry, good morning George. Where's your brother?"

George sighed, "He's still in bed. What time is Garnet coming?"

Molly raised a brow. "At 10am. You still have about three hours, sweetheart." She went back to frying bacon.

"Okay." George went to make sure the living room was still tidy from when he straightened up the night before.

Ginny was sitting on the floor with a couple of her dolls.

"Good morning Ginny," George said.

"Hi George," Ginny smiled, brushing the hair of her favorite doll.

"Ginny, can you please make sure you've cleaned up your babies before Garnet gets here?" he begged.

Ginny grinned, "Is she your girlfriend?"

"What?!" George's face was completely red, "NO!"

"Ginerva!" Molly said sternly, "Don't tease your brother. Take your dolls upstairs please."

"Yes Mum," Ginny went up the stairs quickly.

"Muuum," George said, "Can you maybe make sure no body says something like that while she's here?" he begged.

Molly smiled and nodded, "I'll do my best, sweetie."

Ten o'clock finally rolled around, and George and Fred were impatiently waiting for the Floo to light up, signalling that Garnet was on her way. Six minutes after, the flames finally grew, and Garnet stepped through the fireplace, looking a little tense.

She smiled as soon as she saw her friends.

George could tell something was off as soon as she walked in.

"Everything alright, Garnet?" he stepped closer to her.

She nodded, "Sorry I was late, had a slight emergency at home I had to take care of. But I'm here now."

Fred smiled as he watched his brother shift awkwardly from one foot to the other.

"Come on Garnet, we'll show you around." Fred pulled her by hand. George tried to ignore the feeling he got when he saw his brother do that.

They wandered room to room. Ron was sitting at the dinner table with his father playing Wizards Chess.

"Hello Garnet!" Arthur smiled as the trio walked into the room. "Lovely you could join us."

"Thank you Mr. Weasley," she answered.

"Did your father get on to Scotland alright?" he watched as Ron made his move.

Garnet nodded, "Oh yes, he sent an owl the other day, apparently they're trying to wrap up quickly. He hopes to be home to see me off to school."

"Good good," Arthur nodded. "Well you kids go have fun, but not too much fun." he looked seriously at his two mischievous boys. "No major pranks today, please."

Garnet laughed as she followed the Twins out into the yard.

"So what do you want to do today?" George asked.

"I don't know, what is there to do around here?" she looked at him.

"We could play some Quidditch, or Mum's asked us to de-gnome the garden again..." George ticks off a list.

"...we could go for a walk, there's a big field here we could get lost in." Fred adds a few more to the list.

"De-gnoming the garden? I've never done that before, how do you do that?" She laughed at the Twins.

"Come on, we'll show you!" George led the way.

After having loads of fun de-gnoming the garden, the trio had lunch, went for a walk, pulled a few harmless pranks, and were ending their day with a mild version of Quidditch in the yard.

George, Fred and Garnet were on one team, Ron, Charlie and Ginny were on the other.

Garnet was trying her best to be a faster Seeker than Charlie.

"Come on George! You let that one right by you!" Fred hollared at his brother who was playing Keeper.

"Shove off, we're tied, if Garnet gets the Snitch we could still win!" George looked to Garnet, hovering in the air above him.

"I'm trying!" she laughed. Then she spotted it. She dove for it. Charlie was right on her tail. She was getting closer and closer to the snitch, as it hovered right above the ground. Garnet reached out her hand, speeding up just a bit, leaning into it. Her hand closed around the snitch.

"Garnet?" George's worried voice broke through the darkness. "She's waking up."

"Wasn't out very long," Charlie said above her, "That's a good sign."

Garnet's eyes fluttered open. Charlie, Fred and George were all kneeling on either side of her. She moved to sit up, but Charlie put his hand on her shoulder, insisting she stay down.

"I'm fine, Charlie, promise." She knew what happened, she sat up slowly, just in time to see Mr. Weasley running towards them, Ron on his heels.

"What happened boys?" he knelt down in front of Garnet.

"She was diving for the snitch and once she caught it she didn't pull up in time and she crashed into the ground. She was unconscious for a few seconds." Fred explained.

"The only thing that seems to be the matter is the bruise forming on her arm. She's lucky she wasn't going any faster," Charlie said.

"You alright, Garnet?" Arthur asked, brow raised.

"I am, Mr. Weasley, really." Garnet took a deep breath. She was beginning to feel tired.

Mr. Weasley helped Garnet to her feet, while Fred and George were hovering.

"I'll take your word for it, dear. Mrs. Weasley's got dinner ready, so everybody should go get washed up." he nodded towards the house.

"Ginny alright?" Charlie asked his dad.

"What happened to Ginny?" Garnet turned around, worried.

"She's fine, she was just so upset when you got hurt she ran to the house with Ron." Fred reassured her.

"Oh, okay," Garnet said. She walked towards the house, Fred and George on either side of her, Ron, Charlie and Mr. Weasley following behind.

After dinner, it was time for Garnet to head home. Fred and George were cracking jokes, making Garnet laugh.

"You're sure you're okay after that crash?" George asked one more time.

Garnet shook her head, "Yes George. Don't worry about me." She smiled at the Twins, "So only four weeks until school starts again. What electives did you two choose?"

"Care of Magical Creatures and Muggle Studies," they said in unison.

Garnet laughed, "Boy you two sure don't do anything apart, do you?"

"What are you taking?" George asked.

"Care of Magical Creatures and Divination." Garnet replied. "I should get going, my mum is waiting for me. I'll write you guys next week." She gave Fred a hug, then George.

"See you later, Garnet," George said as she stepped into the fireplace. She dropped some Floo Powder and she was gone in a flash of flames.
