Chapter 7- Party?
A/N: Sorry, sorry, sorry. Time flies I guess. It's nearly been two years since I even looked at this story. I completely just forgot with the end of yr8 and the start of yr9. Then there was yr10 and starting the GCSE syllabus and it all just gotten away from me. What I'm trying to say is it's all been very chaotic.
Because of the current unfortunate circumstances (Corona virus) I have a lot more free time and I have rediscovered all of this. So hopefully I can keep a more consistent schedule *me laughing at my blind optimism*
Anyways…
The first half of this chapter I wrote just after my last update (in 2018). So I'm sorry if the writing seems disjointed I tried to get back into the storyline.

Percy's POV
It's been a couple of weeks since Annabeth and Ollie first came to dinner. Since then we've taken the kids to the movies, been to Annabeth's twice and they've come over twice. It's great to have Annabeth back in my life again, I really missed her. I was pulled out of my train of thought by my daughter's voice.
"Hey Dad…"she starts suspiciously.
"Yeah Soph?" I ask cautiously.
"You how my birthday is in nine days?"
"Of course," I replied seeing where this conversation was going.
"Well I was wondering…"
"Yes,"
"Could we go to Montauk for my birthday weekend?" she ask tentatively.
"Sure, that sounds like a great idea." I accepted relived she didn't want some massive party.
"Also…couldtheChasescome?" Soph asked in an incoherent jumble of words.
"Pardon?"
"Could the Chases come?" she repeated.
"I don't see why not." I answered as she sighed in relief, "Now monkey it's time for you to go to school or you'll be late."
"Sh-" she started but stopped as she saw the look I was giving her, "Shitake Mushrooms would be nice with dinner tonight, don't you think Dad?"
"Nice save. Now go before you miss the bus." I said ushering her out of the house.
Sophia's POV
I breathed a sigh of relief when I stepped onto the bus. I made it on time. As I sat down I smiled at the outcome of my conversation with my dad. I mean I didn't think there would be a problem but I'm never sure where he stands with Miss Chase. However, I was brought out of my good mood by Bryan Hornet.
"Hey Jackson, primary school is that way," he taunted, "didn't you get the memo? Highschool is only for people who can read!" I sighed and slumped down into my seat. Today was going to be a long day.
I smiled when I saw Ollie and jumped off the bus as soon as the doors opened.
"Morning Chase!" I yelled as a way of greeting.
"Morning Jackson," he replied, "Loving the outfit today," he said as he surveyed my silver doc martens, mixed with ripped black skinny jeans, navy blue cropped shirt and my signature beaten up black leather jacket. This coupled with my newly dip dyed aqua blue hair.
"Thanks not too bad yourself," I replied studying his chosen outfit. Ripped black jeans, black hoodie and black vans and a grey beanie that seemed to make his eyes pop. Together I knew we screamed trouble.
"So, how did it go with your dad?" Ollie askeds
"Fantastic, we're all set for next weekend" I replied happy to share the good news.
"That's great," he said and was then promptly interrupted by the shrill ring of the school bell.
"Off to Maths it is then." I said sighing.
"Right see you in Greek Jackson!" he called as he took off to his English class.
Annbeth's POV
"Yes, I understand Mr Blingo, but there's really nothing we can do until Friday."
"You told me week that I would have the blueprints by Wednesday!" The man shouted through the phone.
"Yes, I know I said that I would have them to you by last Wednesday however, there have been a few complications. We have finished the plans for your building Mr Blingo, but health and safety regulations and structural needs were updated on Tuesday last week and we've had a backlog of blueprints that need to be reassessed. I'm afraid that you blueprints also need to be review as the requirements by law have been increased tenfold. However, I have been assured by one of my employees that the designs will be on your desk by Friday afternoon." I explained struggling to keep my temper under control.
"Fine, but no later than that!"
"Perfect. Good day Mr Blingo," I replied hanging up the phone.
"Stressful customer?" Percy asked as he handed her a cup of tea
"You have no idea," he chuckled as I sipped my tea, "Now, what do we think about the roof?"
"Well I was thinking…."
"Right, Percy it's midday I think we should take a break and grab some lunch,"
"Sure, I could do with a break." He agreed standing up and piling all the loose pieces of paper.
"Hey Wise Girl.." Percy started as we were eating our lunch.
"Yes Seaweed Brain?" I asked sceptically.
"It's Sophia's birthday on the 19th (Question: Does American school start in September or is it like Australian school and it starts in January? Please comment below if you know) and she was wonder whether you and Ollie would like to come to Montauk with us next weekend to celebrate?" Percy asked relaying his daughter's invitation.
"We'd love to," I replied accepting the offer, "Should we have a mini surprise party?" I pondered aloud.
"That's a great idea, we can have blue food and streamers and smores. Oh, Annabeth would you mind picking up some balloons and other decorations?"
"I don't mind at all. Did you want them all to be blue?"
"Yeah, that would be great. Maybe I can invite some of the seven too. I've kept in contact with them and they've all met Soph at some point or another. She absolutely adores them, she thinks they're so cool. She was in awe the first time I took her to camp- she must have been around 10." Percy rambled on about his daughter and shared anecdotes from their visits to camp.
Honestly it made my heart ache. I had tried so hard to forget that part of my life- the people, the places, the adventures. But I found myself missing it. The intensity of training, the strategy in capture the flag. The rivalries between Athena and Ares, my brothers and sisters, Chiron. I miss all of it. But what if they don't miss me? What if they don't want to see me? I pushed them away, I rejected their attempts to contact me. For all they know I could be dead.
"Annabeth?"
"Huh?"
"I was just asking if that would be okay with you."
"Um," I hesitated, the fear of rejection creeping in, "Sure"
Percy pause looking worried, "If you're sure..."
"Definitely. Only…. you don't think they hate me, do you?"
"I'm sure they'll just be happy to see you and to know you're okay,"
I nodded in response, reaching out to hug him, clinging to a sense of normalcy.
A/N: And that's it for the first installment in two years (I really need better organizational skills)
Hope you enjoyed it
