Luna sat with Ginny, playing Wizard's chess with her, but the three-year-old had other ideas. Luna turned out to much prefer taking the pieces off and playing dolls with them and Ginny honestly wasn't going to complain.

"Bring me milk!" Luna squealed, making a pawn piece jump about. Hermione came in with a bottle of milk. "There you go." She said. She watched the toddler drink her milk, before telling her what was more than likely to result in a temper tantrum.

"It's bedtime," She said.

"No!" Luna snapped. "It's not bedtime yet!" She lay sprawled on the floor, looking like a tiny spider. "Luna..." Hermione crouched down next to her.

"Not tired!" Luna started to thrash around. Hermione sighed. Luna was sweet and adorable most of the time, but that didn't mean she wasn't capable of also being very annoying. "Luna, you'll be tired when you wake up," She said.

"No!" Luna said stubbornly, sitting up and folding her arms, proving to be the wrong move as Hermione managed to pick her up and took her to her room, whining all the way.

"Luna, if you're good, I'll read you a story, okay?" Hermione promised, honestly done with the headache the toddler had given her. Luna nodded.

"Now, let's get ready for bed." She found Luna cute footie pyjamas for her to wear. It was fluffy and pink and it had bunny ears on it. Trying to keep Luna still while she buttoned it up for a challenge as she found out that Luna was very restless at night.

"Luna! Stay still!" She protested as Luna ran to the corner of her room. "Story now!" She demanded.

"Luna, you need your pyjamas done up first, come here." Luna stayed where she was, being stubborn as ever.

"Luna," Hermione said, getting annoyed. "If you don't come, no story." She felt a little cruel saying that, but she was losing her patience. Luna's eyes widened. "You pwomised!" She whined, running over and burying her face into Hermione, which gave her a perfect window to finally do the toddler's buttons.

She got Luna settled in her bed with a stuffed animal before finding a book, Goldilocks and the three bears. "Pretty!" Luna reached forward to tap the book. "She looks like me!" She said happily, pointing at Goldilocks.

Hermione read her the story, stopping to commentary like, 'Why porridge? Why not cake?' or 'Is Goldilocks going to make friends with the bears?' She stared wide-eyed at the ending.

"Didn't they eat her up?" She asked.

"No, Luna, she ran away as fast as she could," Hermione said patiently. "Now, go to sleep." Luna sat up.

"No! Not tired!" She cried. "More story!" She begged.

"Luna, no, please just go to sleep." Ginny had come into the room.

"Mia's tired now." She said gently. Luna glared at them, before bursting into tears. "I WANT MY MUMMY!" She screamed. It was clear she was overtired.

Hermione and Ginny looked at each other, horrified. They both knew that Luna's mother was long dead, but they couldn't tell a three-year-old that! It was more than likely to both traumatise her and break her heart. "Luna, your mummy's not here right now..." Hermione said anxiously, trying her best to comfort her.

"Shhh." They managed to comfort her and got her to sleep.

The next day, Luna had somehow managed to lose Ginny on their way to class and after searching for her, almost in tears, she sat down on a step, ready to throw a tantrum, when the staircase moved!

Luna screamed and held on for dear life, but her grip was too weak and she fell...into someone's arms. The toddler was stunned for a minute, before burying her face into the person's neck and crying. "Hey, where did you come from?" The person asked. Luna looked up.

The boy was very pale with platinum blond hair and grey eyes and wore robes with Slytherin accents. "I lost Ginny!" Luna wailed pitifully. "You mean Weaselette?" The boy asked with a snide tone. Luna looked at him. "What's a wea-sel-ette?" She asked.

The boy shrugged. "You're Lovegood, right?" Luna looked at him.

"No! I'm Luna!" She said. The boy set her down on a step and sat next to her. "Okay. I'm Draco, but you call me Malfoy, okay?" He said.

"Why?" Luna asked, curiously.

"Why not?" Draco answered. "Look, I have a free period, which means I don't have lessons, I can help you find Wea-I mean Ginny, okay?" He said. Luna perked up. "Yes please!"

Meanwhile, Ginny was worried sick. She had realised Luna was missing only when she had sat in the lesson for about ten minutes, before realising her colouring books and pencils, plus her milk was still in her bag.

Professor McGonagall had tutted and given her a sharp lecture about how she should have kept an eye on Luna, but let her out of lessons regardless to find her.

"Luna! Can you hear me?!" She called out, getting more and more desperate. How stupid was she to lose a toddler? Hermione had taken her to more lessons and she had never lost Luna once! "Mia's nice too, but she can be mean as well." A squeaky voice said from around the corner.

"Why's that?" Ginny backed up, startled. That was Draco Malfoy's voice! But... it was warm and friendly? "She said if I didn't hold still while she did my buttons, she wouldn't read me a story!" Luna rounded the corner, holding Malfoy's hand and her face split into a big smile when she saw Ginny.

"Ginny!" She squealed, running into her arms. Ginny picked Luna up and hugged her. "Luna, I was so worried. Don't run off like that again okay?"

"Maybe you should take better care of her, Weaslette," Malfoy said snidely. "Toddlers are difficult to take care of! And what were you doing with her? If you were bullying her I'll-"

"Ginny, he's my friend! Don't be mean to him." Luna looked at Ginny reproachfully. Draco smirked.

"Hear that, Weaselette? I'm her friend." Luna turned to him.

"Draco, it's not nice to call her names. Her name's Ginny." She said.

"Anyway, Luna and I have a lesson to go to, McGonagall's probably going mad," Ginny said, before carrying Luna back to Transfiguration.

Hi everyone! I'm SO sorry about the late update. Homeschool got in the way so I couldn't write as much as I hoped to, but I hope this chapter made up for the wait! :D On to the review!
