Hey! Here as promised! Hopefully this chapter is alright, I know it's pretty small but one of these scenes is really important to the plot. I had an eventful day haha. Today I texted like 20 of my friends because one of them was in an article talking about Climate Change. (I'm proud of you lol!)
Jason's POV
Jason and the others were walking out of the forest. Percy just finished the first task and was currently in second place. Jason knew Percy could do it, every one of the demigods could do. Well, that and some wizards too. Jason knew that having magic was pretty strong. He's seen the Hecate cabin during capture the flag games... It wasn't easy to beat them.
He and Piper were in a mindless conversation when they were walking. They had each already congratulated Percy. Jason wanted to talk to Harry too but Harry sped up ahead quickly with Ron and Hermione. He quickly saw why though. It was Rita Skeeter. The same that "interviewed" Percy. She made Percy seem like a complete jerk. He tried not to focus on her though since Harry was walking away and Percy was laughing. Hard.
"And that when I said 'No, you can't use my hairbrush Drew!'" Piper said, making Jason focus his attention on her. He blinked.
"You didn't listen to a thing I said, did you?" she said.
He shook his head, scratching his neck.
Piper sighed, "Eh. It's fine. Neither was I".
Jason chucked. Then he looked at her more seriously, "I wish we could've done more to help with Harry. He did hurt himself, remember?"
Piper stopped and her draped her arms around his neck, "You have such a guilty conscience too, don't you?"
"It's not really a guilty conscience if it actually did happen".
"Jason... That made no sense".
"Just- do you know what I mean?"
Piper sighed again, "You know that we needed to see how the tournament was going to be like. Plus, remember Percy is looped into this whole thing. We need to worry about him too. Besides, we saw that Harry can handle himself pretty well, so now we know what the things we can help him with are".
Jason's mind clicked, "You know... that actually makes sense. Thanks Piper. Your words just cleared my supposed 'Guilty Conscience'".
They started walking again.
"It's not supposed if it's actually there," she said, laughing slightly.
Gods. He loved her laugh.
"Hey, Thalia!" someone called out from a nearby tree just as the demigods left the forest (except for Percy and Annabeth because they were probably already at the castle).
Jason turned to see who called his sister's name. A face he knew was lurking around a tree. Cedric. He was pretty nice and stuff but why did he want to talk to Thalia?
"Oh, uh, don't wait for me. I'll be back", Jason heard Thalia say to Reyna. Reyna turned back to see Thalia walking towards someone familiar. She shrugged and continued walking.
Jason however watched his sister carefully. Jason and Thalia grew a strong bond over a short period of time. Jason knew that those years he didn't know about her would always be there but it never let him affect the way he would view his sister -someone that would be there for him.
Thalia walked towards Cedric and greeted him. And in a blink of an eye, they started some conversation.
What would they even talk about? When have they ever talked? Excluding the few times around us and the time they went to that shack together... Alone.
"She feels flustered" Piper said suddenly.
He looked back at her with a confused face, "Huh? How can you tell?"
She shrugged, "I don't know. I sorta just... feel it".
"Ven-... Aphrodite powers?"
"Pretty much sums up my life".
"But why would she be flustered? She's a hunter" Jason asked.
"I don't know. You don't think Cedric's flirting with her or something, do you?" Piper said with a hint of suspicion in her voice.
Jason thought about it, "He doesn't seem like the type that would... "
"True. Maybe I'm over thinking things. Let's just go before we get caught staring" Piper said, tugging Jason's arm.
Jason didn't let go of the topic though. It was in his mind and he couldn't get it out.
Thalia and... Cedric? No. No way. She's a hunter. Head of them no less. There's no way she would be flustered by him. Maybe Piper just got it wrong... But she's usually right.
"You good, man?" Percy asked. They were all sitting in the common room doing random stuff. Hazel was watching a video game that Frank and Leo were playing, Annabeth was reading a book, Calypso was organizing something in the kitchen area, Reyna was petting her leopard and staring off at a wall, Thalia (who had returned hours after all of them were in the common room; not answering any questions about why she came later) was in the girls dorm by herself, Will and Nico were looking through a picture book of weird wizarding creatures and Piper was simply laying across a couch in the back of the room. Whether she was asleep or not, Jason didn't know.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Jason replied to Percy, "Just thinking about something".
Percy shrugged, "If you want to talk about it, I'm right here".
Jason smiled, "Thanks but it's not really about me".
Percy looked at him in an intrigued manner but then looked down. He was playing with one of those hand held water games -the ones with the rings. Jason chuckled at Percy's expression when he accidentally knocked off a few of the rings he had around the mini pole.
"Gah!" yelled Leo as he threw himself on the couch, "Frank won again. It's the only game I can't beat him at".
Frank had a winning smile and plopped down next to Hazel. He put the controller out in front of Jason.
"You want to try it? I'm beat but maybe ask Percy?" Frank said.
Percy put his game down. He and Jason both smirked at each other.
"Oh, it's on".
...
So hey! The next chapter is going to be pretty long so get prepared for that; it'll be focusing on Harry, Hermione, and Ron. I promise you that the next chapter is one of the most important chapters in this story. Anyway, tomorrow is my birthday and I'm already feeling so old lol. Try to figure out how old I'm turning, (cough cough last chapter had a HUGE hint cough cough). Love you all and see ya next time! Next update 3/3/20
