Chapter 8

Master Fu looked out the window and sighed. He hadn't meant for Danny to become a hero again, but someone needed to help Ladybug and Chat Noir. He looked into his cup of hot tea and frowned. Had he made the right decision giving Danny a miraculous?

"Are you worried about Daniel, Master?" Master Fu looked at his faithful companion, Wayzz. Master Fu took a sip of his tea.

"Yes, I am. I am thinking about my premature decision to give Danny a miraculous." Master Fu explained as Wayzz nodded.

"Do you want my opinion, master?" Wayzz asked as Master Fu nodded. "To be honest, I don't think he needed a miraculous. That ghost, Clockwork, already told us that Daniel has immense power. I believe it would be in everyone's best interest that he solely relies on his own power to defeat Hawk moth." Master Fu sighed and looked at his reflection in his tea.

"But I'm afraid that because Danny has immense power already, having a miraculous would cover it." Master Fu said as Wayzz sat on the table next to Master Fu's cup of tea.

"Nothing can be hidden forever, Master. Sooner or later, Hawk moth will find out that Daniel's power is unrelated to any miraculous. I would be best to take the miraculous away and let Daniel fight the way he always has." Wayzz explained as Master Fu furrowed his eyebrows and nodded.

"It seems I'm always making mistakes." Master Fu dryly chuckled. "From my friends and family, to even now." His eyes stung, but no tears fell.

"Oh, master. You're human and that means you make mistakes." Wayzz comforted as Master Fu shook his head.

"But I've lived 186 years. You'd think I'd learn a thing or two." Master Fu said in a weary tone. Wayzz stared at his master then looked out the window. "Do you think his powers would interfere with the miraculous?" Wayzz shrugged.

"We never had a person beyond the veil use the miraculous, so I don't know." Wayzz said truthfully as Master Fu took a sip of his now cold tea.

"I just hope he's safe."

Watching Ladybug and Chat Noir chit chat between each other brought a sense of deja-vu to Phantom. He thought about Sam and Tucker and sighed. He didn't need to think about them right now. He studied the villain.

He was wearing a dangerous clash of colors. Phantom was sure that other ghosts would throw a fit if they had to fight in something like that. Was the main puppeteer dressing his minions like this? Phantom silently sighed, he felt bad for anyone turned into his minions.

Phantom watched intensely as cards flew at both heroes making them dodge. It made Phantom wonder what the villain's power was. Then he watched as Ladybug attacked the villain only for him to dodge.

It was a terrible mistake, one that could cost the battle. Phantom hummed to himself as Chat took the hit for Ladybug and resorted into becoming like a cat. He pinched his nose and took a deep breath. These heroes were practically untrained. He would complain to Fu later, but as of right now, he had to save them.

Phantom floated in the air before flying towards Ladybug and Chat Noir. He heard Chat hiss at him, but what was new. He grabbed Chat by the collar and Ladybug around her waist, then leaped into the air as an onslaught of cards flew past them.

"Phantom!" Ladybug exclaimed as Phantom nodded. Chat was squirming and hissing as Phantom struggled to keep a hold on him. He wanted so badly to yell at the stupid cat, but he couldn't. He landed on the roof and gently placed Ladybug down. He tossed Chat on the floor, who hissed and hit around a vent.

"Thank you, Phantom. We were kind of struggling." Ladybug said with a little chuckle.

You were untrained. Of course, you would have trouble. Phantom wrote in the air as Ladybug nodded.

"My body seemed to know what it's doing." Ladybug said as Phantom crossed his arms.

Even if you have the instincts to dodge and be aerodynamic, you still have to train in order to really have confidence. Phantom said as Ladybug nodded.

"Yeah, I'll try." Phantom nodded, that was enough for him. He looked down to where the villain was having a conversation with himself.

Do you have details on the new villain? Phantom asked as Ladybug stood next to him.

"His name is Simon Says. His power is to make anyone act like whatever he wants. Mainly all akumas have a purpose to fulfill of their own. I don't know what his is, but I know that his akuma is possibly his deck of cards." Ladybug explained as Phantom nodded. Then Simon Says leapt into the air heading the opposite direction to where they were.

The heroes were left to wonder where he was going as Phantom looked at Ladybug.

I will handle Simon Says. Just enough for you to do something about him. Phantom said pointing to Chat who was licking his leg. Ladybug sighed and nodded.

"Yeah, I can do something about him. At least long enough to get to you." Ladybug said as Phantom nodded.

I'll meet you at the Eiffel Tower then. Phantom jumped off the edge and took to the skies, following in the direction Simon Says. There were people gathering together at a huge mansion in the middle of the city banging on the gate. This was unusual. He noticed Simon Says in the back due to his bright colors.

Phantom flew in front of Simon Says who grinned.

"Ah! Hawk Moth has been waiting for you to appear!" Simon Says said as his group of attackers stopped pounding on the door. Phantom rolled his eyes.

I just want to get this with. Phantom said as he got in a fighting position. Simon Says smirked as he held up a card between his fingers.

"Simon Says...your powers are useless!" He flung the card at Phantom who easily dodged as he threw something at the villain. Simon Says tried to hit it with his hand, but it got stuck on his hand. He flung his hand around trying to get rid of this.

"What is this?!" Simon Says asked as he tried to scrub it off. It only attached more to his shirt and he couldn't move his hand.

Something of my own creation. Which undoubtedly was a lie. It was sticky ectoplasm, which wouldn't get off of him until Phantom phased it off him.

"Get it off!" Phantom grinned as he rushed forward and kicked Simon Says in the chest, making the said villain fly back.

"UGH!" Phantom threw more ectoplasm at Simon Says, binding him successfully. "Let me go!" Phantom walked over to Simon Says who looked to be a big blob of ectoplasm. He took the deck of cards from Simon Says who continued to struggle.

This wasn't a battle afterall. Phantom sighed for like the third time. This is why he didn't want to fight. There was no excitement. The villains didn't even match him in terms of power. Phantom pocketed the cards and grabbed the bundled Simon Says and flew towards the Eiffel Tower where he saw Ladybug holding Chat from his collar.

Phantom smiled as he landed in front of Ladybug who was at a loss for words. Phantom placed Simon Says on the floor as he struggled to get free.

"Um...what is that green substance?" Ladybug asked as Phantom waved his hand.

Just goo. Don't touch it. It irritates the skin and will stick to you. Phantom said as he tossed her the deck of cards. You might want to break that. Ladybug smiled and ripped the book in two making a black and purple butterfly flutter out.

"No more evil doing for you, little akuma." Phantom watched in curiosity as Ladybug opened her yo-yo and caught the akuma perfectly in it. When she opened it back up and a little white butterfly flew out.

Are you going to fix the mess? Phantom asked as she pulled out a red and black polka dotted leash. Phantom assumed she used that to keep Chat under control, but put it away when she saw him.

"Miraculous Ladybug!" Ladybug threw the leash into the air and it let out millions of ladybugs into the air. Phantom touched one of the swirls and felt a rush of power from them. There was a muffled sound that drew his attention. Phantom looked over to see the de-villainized person and walked over.

Hold still. Phantom touched the guy's head and phased all the goo off of him. Phantom gathered up the goo and let it form back with his body. You're all set to go. The man thanked them and walked away, not before getting his deck of cards back from Ladybug.

"Thanks again, Phantom. You're a really great help." Ladybug said as she held out her hand. Phantom looked down at it and shook it.

You too. Just try to keep that cat on a leash more often. Phantom said as he let go of her hand. Oh and remember what I said about training. Then Phantom took to the skies and turned invisible. He headed over to Fu's place and phased through the building. He transformed into his human self and transformed out of the miraculous. He felt super weak as Longg flew out of the choker.

"Well, I guess this is it. I'm going to miss you, Danny." Longg said as Danny rolled his eyes and finally took the choker off. He walked into the main room where Fu was having tea.

"Daniel, I would like to-" But Danny cut him off as he handed him the miraculous. Fu looked at it with wide eyes.

I don't need this anymore. You give it to someone else, but it's not meant for me. I have my own powers for a reason and I'll use them when I see fit. He placed the choker on the table leaving Fu to himself and walked into his room and fell on the bed.

The last thought he had was of ice and flames.

Ladybug watched Phantom leave and bit her lip. He was so powerful and Ladybug had to wonder why he would even need to help them. A groan made Ladybug snap out of her thought sand turn to Chat Noir who was rubbing his head.

"Wha- What happened?" Chat asked while trying to stand up. Ladybug smiled and helped him to his feet.

"You got turned into a real kitty, Chat." Ladybug said, ringing his bell. Chat blinked and then smiled awkwardly.

"Oh, really?" Chat chuckled as he ran a hand through his hair. Ladybug nodded.

"Yep! You were more tolerable that way. Maybe I shouldn't have used the miraculous cure." Ladybug said as a loud beep rang through the area.

"I bet I was impawsibly adorable." Chat said as Ladybug swung her yo-yo.

"Not even close." Then she swung away. She ran on rooftops heading back home. Once she arrived at her roof, she dropped her transformation and headed inside. Tikki flew out and landed on the table.

"Wow, that was really quick." Tikki said as Marinette nodded.

"Yeah, thanks to Phantom. He's really powerful." Marinette said as she handed Tikki a cookie. Tikki took the delicious treat and took a big bite.

"I'm surprised that a ghost like him is powerful." Tikki said thoughtfully. Marinette looked at her kwami.

"Really? What makes him more powerful?" Marinette asked as Tikki shrugged.

"I don't know. You might have to ask him, but it may be because of how he was formed." Tikki said as Marinette nodded. "But a ghost expert might be more useful. They know more than me." Marinette sighed as she headed downstairs to see a note on the table. She picked it up and read it.

Thank you for your hospitality, but I feel that I have overstayed my welcome. I might have worried people close to me, so I must return home. Thank you very much for taking care of me while I was under the weather. I hope to see Marinette at school and thank her personally.

Sincerely, Danny Fu.

Marinette giggled at Danny's antics trying to be formal, but figured that she should give it to her parents. She headed downstairs to see her parents working around the clock in the bakery.

"Danny left a note for you." Marinettesaid, catching her parents attention. Sabine and Tom looked at the note and smiled.

"He's really such a nice boy." Sabine said as Tom nodded, agreeing with his wife. "I hope he comes to visit some time." Marinette smiled and nodded.

"I'm going to head to bed. I've had a long day." Marinette said as she headed back to her room and plopped down on her bed. Tikki snuggled on her little spot on the pillow and Marinette smiled.

"Night, Tikki."

"Night, Marinette." And with that she dreamt of green forest eyes. But those were quickly replaced with icy blue ones. She drifted further into sleep with a smile on her face.

I'm sorry that I haven't really updated in a while. I've heard some of your complaints about Danny having a miraculous and have decided on something that both parties might like. There will be times when Danny has to use a miraculous in order to fight and there will be times that he won't. I think that bring a good author is taking in others opinion in order to make the story better, so I hope you guys will be satsified with this. If there is something wrong please tell me and I will try my best to fix it.

REVIEWS:

KorevainsoLightshire: To be honest, I was looking at the votes and the reviews people left in order to see if Danny was going to get a miraculous or not. The tallies added up to be that they wanted Danny to have a miraculous. So I made sure that this was Danny's little test run on how it felt to have a miraculous and he decided to give it up. I really hope this helps.

Jebest4781: Thank you very much. Hope you liked this chapter.

PhantomFever81: Okay, I will try harder on not to confuse you next time, but Danny was in a little coma of his own due to something (Don't want to spoil that!). But it's trival to the story and whatnot. But I hope you liked this chapter.

aquestionableprecence:No problem. I think everyone should be worried about the virus, but not the the extent where people should be panicking like the toilet paper. But I hope that you liked this chapter.

devilzxknight86: There was a reason as to why he had the dragon miraculous. Danny is going to gain more powers later on, but I like your idea with seeing the dead. It reminds me of Paranorman if you know that move.

xTorchbearerx: I'm already on it. Danny will only have a mirauclous when he needs one and right now in the story he doesn't need one.

James Birdsong: Thank you very much. Hope you keep reading.

Remember to stay safe out there and don't forget to review!
