Chapter 6: Terror of the Third Reich
A few hours of driving later and I was approaching Stalingrad I had to use a combination of transformations and Genjutsu to get through the patrols and armed forces. When I arrived at Stalingrad I disposed of the Jeep and made my way towards the center of the city before I got too far I was slammed with the scent of hundreds of Dead bodies.
"Oh gods." I gagged, I heard Kurama laugh a bit. "What's so funny?"
"The fact you can kill monsters by the thousands and feel nothing but when you come across dead humans you recoil."
"How would you feel if you came across a mass grave of Kitsune?"
"Good point." I walked over to the mass grave and saw a bunch of dead Russians, I activated my Sharingan and saw a few were still alive. Then I sensed several chakra signatures approaching me followed the sounds of armored vehicles, I climbed in the fountain and hid among the dead. As the Soldiers got closer I looked around subtly and saw a few Russians writhe in pain, one German got up into the fountain and started shooting. I looked over and saw two Russians still alive as the Germans started walking away. I saw the younger of the two crawling and with a shock saw that the figure being crawled towards was Captain Reznov, I looked over at him and his eyes widened in shock. I nodded at him and in response Captain Reznov put his finger up to his lips and made a shushing sound both the Russian and I nodded and slowly made our way over to Reznov, when we got within whispering distance we both heard.
"I need your help," We crawled silently behind Reznov, "do what I say and we can avenge this massacre." After a few more feet of crawling, we reached a broken part of the fountain with a clear view of the road. "My injured hand means I can no longer aim." Reznov looked at the man beside me. "But you shall do it for me." he places his rifle on the wall. "Take my rifle and watch the road." the man beside me picked up the rifle and looked down the scope. "I am surprised to see you alive Madara." Renzov spoke, gaining my attention. "I considered you dead."
"I've had my fair share of sticky situations, Captain." I replied, "the Germans thought they had me, but I outwitted them." I glared at a passing patrol car with a German and Reznov turned to it.
"The mudak in the car is General Heinrich Amsel architect of Stalingrad's misery. He is responsible for the cold-blooded murder of men, women, and children... Not just here, but throughout the motherland. For three days I have hunted him. For three days luck alone has saved his wretched life. Sniping your enemy is like hunting any other animal. Fire at the wrong moment and your chance will be forever lost. Patience. If we reveal our position to Amsel's men, this fountain will be our grave. Now, load your rifle, but hold your fire." I looked as Amsel and his honor guard walked inside the building as I heard the Soldier beside me load the rifle. "Wait until the bombers are directly overhead. The sound of their engines will drown out your shot." I looked up and saw a large group of bombers overhead. The bombers will start flying overhead. One with a damaged, flaming engine, flying in lower than the others, making the droning of its engines louder than the others. "Ready? SHOOT NOW!" I watched as the Russian took his shots, each shot resulted in a kill. "Excellent shooting, you are a natural hunter. Time to close in for the kill. This way." Reznov picks up a PPsh-41 submachine gun with that, the three of us climbed up towards the building but a few seconds later, I heard Reznov Curse. "Chyort! Armored patrol... We must find another route to Amsel. Stay low, and follow me." As the German patrol gets nearer. "This way, before they discover the dead."
"If I may." I whispered, "I could take them out, no problem." Reznov looked at me.
"Your techniques are too flashy, they will draw attention."
"True, but I can also be silent as the night."
"Let's get going, we'll need a new route." I nodded and followed Reznov and the Private into a nearby bar. "For days I have crept through shadows like a rat. This place once echoed with conversations of friends and lovers. No longer. Mark my words, Comrade... One day things will change. We will take the fight to their land... to their people... to their blood." Reznov opens the bar table, allowing entry. "This way. Knowing the routines and movements of your prey tips the balance of a hunt. General Amsel is a creature of habit. He inspects each German garrison every day. We can use this building to flank his route." Just then a shot rings out and it missed me by a hair's breadth. "Sniper! Get inside now!" Reznov jumps through the building window, breaking its glass, and the private and I follow. "Svoloch almost got me. We'll have to flush him out before we can move on. Follow me." I snarled a bit.
"Let me handle this." I activated my Sharingan, "Do you know who these eyes belong to, Captain?" Reznov looked at me.
"Who?"
"These eyes belong to hunters."
(Reznov POV)
As I watched Madara smile he started to sink into the ground, Dimitri and I ran up to the top of the bar and we saw Madara form a weird symbol with his left hand and he vanished from sight. I looked around to see if I could spot him. I looked up towards a new building and I saw a shadow flicker across a window. I looked up towards the building with the banner, I saw Germans patrolling the lower levels, in a flash of steel the first set clutched their throats blood pouring from them. Madara reappeared in the window he turned to me, clearly able to see me and he nodded, then vanished again clearly intending to complete his mission. I watched in stunned fascination as more Germans met the same fate as the fellow fascists, they clearly didn't have time to scream. Eventually, he must have reached the top level as the lights went dark and I saw the glow of Red eyes, I heard gunshots but the flash of steel quickly ended the Germans and the lights flickered back to life, and for the second time, I was thanking the Gods that Madara was on our side. I turned to Dimitri and saw he had an equal look of shock and he turned to me, he gulped a bit when he met my gaze.
"If I may speak plainly, Captain," Dimitri began, "If it comes down to joining the Germans or pissing Madara off I'd rather just slit my own throat and end my suffering right then and there." I laughed a bit.
"Yes, our comrade is quite the terror on the battlefield." I slowly got to my feet. "They Patrols will have heard the gunshots, we need to get moving." I opened a door and descended down a flight of stairs, I saw a Wehrmacht Patrol from some of the windows, I hid behind a Grandfather clock, I turned to Dimitri. "shhh...German patrol, let them pass." Just then the grandfather clock chimed, and a German walks over to a window of the building we are in to inspect the sound and sees us. His dog leaps at the window and barks as well to alert the rest of the patrol to have found us. "They have found us!" I shouted, "We need to leave now! Hit the floor!" I went prone and started crawling along the floor, flamethrowers burst through the windows. "They are trying to burn us out, stay low and try not to breathe!" I got to my feet with Demitri close behind me, I heard a bookcase fall then I heard a scream as the sound of flesh being sliced was heard I turned to see Madara killing Germans in a dance of death.
"Your dance steps are too shallow." Madara remarked as he killed the last of the Germans, then he climbed through the window.
"We need to get moving, up through the building." I commanded Dimitri and Madara nodded then followed me when I heard the sound of a beam falling and Dimitri growl in pain. I turned around to see Madara grab Dimitri's arm and pull him through the wooden beam, but Demitiri was unharmed by the flames.
"Let's keep moving comrades," Madara spoke, "These Germans will taste our strength, the strength of the sons of Poseidon." We heard the sounds of heavy machine-gun fire and it started tearing through the walls.
"Armored Car!" I shouted Madara and Dimitri immediately followed me, Madara and Demitri leapt out the hole in the wall but an explosion hurled me to the ground."
"Kommunisten!" I heard a German shout, I reach for my gun but a German kicks it out of my hand. "Her mit dem Flammenwerfer, verbrennt diesse Russenchweine." Madara's action was instant, if I hadn't been looking at him I wouldn't have seen him move. He made more of those weird symbols with his hands, they were a blur to me but then he clapped his hands.
"Suiton!" Water started to gather from the air around us. "Bakusui Shōha!" water crashed down on all of us, but as normal I was empowered by the water and I saw Madara smile. Dimitri, Madara and I wasted no time we used the water around us to quickly charge the Germans. The Germans open fired at us, we were able to dodge them. I looked over and, to my shock, I could actually see Madara's movements, and I finally saw how dangerous he really was. Each movement was flawless, each blow was fatal, he was a killing machine the Germans couldn't even react, they were dead before they hit the ground. When my senses returned to normal Madara was holding one German by his throat his red eyes were now purple and expanded over his entire eyeball. "Ningendo." Madara pulled out a purple outline from out of the German and then stood still as the German collapsed, clearly dead. Just then Madara turned around and glared at an alleyway and he pulled out a pen which he uncapped and it turned into a celestial bronze blade.
"Put down your sword comrade." A voice I recognized spoke, and out of the shadows stepped Dalestki.
"Daletski," I greeted him and he turned to me.
"Captain Reznov, Dimitri, we thought you were among the dead in the massacre at the square!"
"We were, among them, but not one of them."
"Were are about to assault the communication post north of here."
"Good," I nodded in approval, "such a move will prevent the German command calling for help. Dimitri, Madara and I will provide cover from above... Wait till you hear the screams of dying Germans. Dimitri… Madara... This way... Up the ladder."
"This way comrades, Take positions, and wait for the signal…" Madara leapt up to the banister above the latter, turned to look down at me and he smiled.
"I'm waiting, old man." Dimitri and I climbed the latter and the three of us made our way to a building. I saw a group of Germans Dimitri took aim.
"Hold you fire. Do you see the flamethrowers?" Dimitri nodded, "you must choose your moment, exploding the fuel tank will incinerate anyone standing nearby." Dimitri aimed and held his breath, then fired the fuel tank exploded. "Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Excellent aim, Dimitri! Give covering fire to our comrades below!" Madara Pulled out another one of those three-pronged knives he threw it and in a dance of red light more Germans were slaughtered, then Madara vanished completely and was on another building snapping the neck of an MG. "German Reinforce-" was all I could say before Madara killed them all.
"They are retreating!" Daletski shouted, "Forward! Ura!"
"Our friends are moving up, we must do the same, up the stairs, quickly."
(Percy POV)
I was surveying the area any Wehrmacht that entered my gaze were cut down without mercy. Eventually, I heard the sound of guns pointed at me.
"Hands where I can see them Kommunisten." A german commanded, he couldn't see my face but I smiled and held up my hands.
"Time for some fun." I thought as I snapped my left hand, which caused the Reality Stone to glow and I heard the sounds of shock and fear as I transformed their guns into cobras which quickly bit their holders multiple times. I turned around and snapped my fingers again and the snakes returned to their original forms, but the damage was done. I got close to one of the dying Germans twirling a kunai around my middle finger then I kneeled down next to him a sick smile on my face. "Auf Wiedersehen." I said then slit his throat and left the others to die of their wounds whistling a tune then I heard a sniper shot ring out and I looked below to see a Halftrack with the MG gunner dead. I saw Daletski's squad entering the communication post. A few minutes later I was reunited with Reznov and Dimitri, who were in a hidden position overlooking the German Command post, Reznov acknowledged me with a nod of his head then he turned to Dimitri.
"Hold fire! We are too close to our goal to reveal our position. There is nothing we can do for our comrades... Their sacrifice will not go unavenged... The death of General Amsel will be just the beginning... Look ahead... The building adorned with flags is the German command post... General Amsel will soon be in our sights. The sounds of battle will flush him out." I growled a bit and Reznov looked at me. "I don't like it either, but in war there are sacrifices." Reznov took out binoculars and then spoke suddenly. "Coward! There he is! Chyort! He is not alone! Put a bullet in his bodyguard's head! The mudak is using the destroyed tank for cover!" Dimitiri took aim and a shot rang out. "Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! You are a true marksman, Dimitri!" I saw a tank pointing its barrel at us.
"Oh shit." I dove in front of them throwing up my Susanoo, the tank shell exploded against the ethereal warrior. "You two alright?" I questioned once the dust settled.
"A few bruises but we'll live." Dimitri commented.
"We should get out of here before the tank fires again."
"Agreed." Reznov replied, the three of us got to our feet, then started running, more germans tried to intercept us. "Die! You scum-sucking pigs! RRAAAAGH!" Reznov shouted as he opened fire, the soldiers died and another explosion rocks the building as Reznov, Dimitri and I started running as the Panzers continued to fire on the structure. They eventually reach an opening in the wall overlooking a river. "Into the river, Dimitri, Madara! It is our only chance!" Reznov jumps. "GO!" I jumped in and Dimitri followed soon after, I looked at Reznov and Dimitri, they nodded and we controlled the currents to lead us to safety.
(Time Skip 3 months later)
After our assassination of General Amsel Reznov, Dimitri and I were gathered at a military camp 10 miles outside of Stalingrad, we were part of an army over 1 million, divided into subgroups and our battalion was under the command General Vasily Chuikov. Over the last three months, I had noticed a lot of changes, I noticed in my conversations with Kurama I was beginning to develop a Russian accent.
"The might of the Red Army stands tall and proud." Vasily began, "I have been given instructions from Chief Marshal Nikolay to lead the 62nd Army our job it to storm in and keep the German reinforcements from marshaling any form of defense. Does anyone have any questions or protests of these orders, if so speak them now or forever stay silent." Everyone was quiet but I stepped forward some of my fellow Sons of Poseidon looked shocked.
"Permission to speak freely, General?" I asked.
"Unless it is important to our objective, denied."
"It is important to our objective." Vasily looked at me, then nodded.
"Speak, and make it quick Uchiha."
"Sir, I am highly accomplished at stealth operations, with your permission, I could sneak into Stalingrad, take out several key points of the German defense to signal the attack." Reznov stepped forward.
"General Vasily," He spoke, "I can attest to Madara's abilities in stealth, he walked right into a German Base armed with the latest in military surveillance had killed the high priority target before leaving the base and it took 7 hours to discover his body." Vasily's eyes seemed to widen.
"Is this true?" Vasily Looked at another man next to him, clearly high in rank.
"Yes, it is," the man responded, "I have the report straight from Moscow." The man handed Vasily a file who quickly read through it and looked at me.
"Very well Madara," Vasily spoke. "I am authorizing this mission, you get in, then do what you need to do, the army will be ready." I nodded.
"I have a signal to suggest."
"Let's hear it."
"I'm rather good with explosives, I'll use the german's supply against them when you hear the sounds of buildings exploding that will be my signal." Vasily nodded.
"Uchiha, you are dismissed." I looked towards Stalingrad, I ran off I tried to keep my speed below subsonic, as soon as I reached Stalingrad I started clinging to the walls, sticking in the shadows. After about 5 minutes of hiding, I found a building adorned with flags. I smirked to myself and began to sneak into the building, I clung to the ceiling and then stuck my head through the wall, As I looked around the room I observed the patrol routes then made my way through the halls suppressing my chakra I placed explosive seals along the walls as I went, after a few minutes of walking and sticking to the shadow I eventually reached the command room and smiled to myself.
"Too easy." I landed softly on the ground only for several gunshots to ring out, I dodged them easily and even deflected a few with Riptide after pulling the pen out of my pocket and uncapping it.
"You did vell to make it zis far Russian Dog." A voice spoke and I turned to see a very familiar man.
"Major Von Stroheim." I activated my Sharingan, "I hope you dance well." Stroheim looked exactly as he was portrayed in the Manga down to the mechanical eye, part of me wondered how Hirohiko Araki managed to get this an accurate picture but the rest of me realized I needed to focus.
"If it isn't The Crimson Eyed Devil of the Red Army." Stroheim responded. "Given what we know about you I'm not at all surprised you were able to deflect my gunshots, you're just like Him."
"You mean Kars." I smirked and I swear I saw the blood drain from Stroheim's face.
"H-how?" I smiled a bit and laughed.
"I suppose there's no harm in telling you, considering you die this day."
"Vhat are you talking about?" Stroheim demanded.
"I am a man born 70 years in the future, I was forcibly sent back in time in an effort to kill me." Stroheim blinked then started laughing.
"Nice try Russian, you almost got me to believe you."
"Really, after all that you've seen? Hamon, the vampires, the pillar men, Joseph Joestar, or as you know him Jojo, you draw the line at time travel." Stroheim's human eye nearly bulged out of his skull. "Oh yes, I know all there is to know about your adventures in Rome and Mexico, and I tell you one final secret." I closed the distance between us and was right next to Stroheim's ear. "Joseph Josetar lives." Stroheim swiped at me but I jumped back laughing as I landed on the other side of the room.
"H-how?"
"He was picked up by a fishing boat and nursed back to health by Susie Q, his wife. He tied the knot with her and made his way back to America." I smiled a bit. "But that's neither here nor there because I intend to kill you. This day will be known as the battle of Stalingrad and I am its architect." I held up my hand detonating the seal causing the building to begin to explode and I jumped out the window, I heard the sound of artillery fire and I looked at Stroheim. "Down with The Third Reich." I started making my way down the roads killing any Germans I came across, and eventually came across the rest of the Red Army and the first person I came across was Captain Reznov.
"Well Done Comrade," Reznov clapped his hand on my shoulder, "let us drive these fascists from our lads."
"And back to their land, their blood."
(Time Skip 3 years later Seelow Heights, Germany)
Almost four years, that's how long it had been since I was thrust back in time. During this time I had grown a beard, grown a few inches and my accent had gotten much stronger. My new eyes had taken hold and now their default eye was the Rinnesharringan and I had access to all the power those eyes possessed. I was matching with the Red Army, Dimitri had been captured by German forces and Reznov Chernov and I were rushing to his aid, our line of tanks had begun smashing through the German line, as I ran alongside Reznov my eyes were scanning the buildings and eventually I saw the outline of 4 chakra signatures and I recognized one as Dimitri's.
"Captain, he's in that building!" I shouted to be heard over the roar of tanks and I pointed to the one closest to us.
"Then let us rescue our comrade." Reznov replied, I nodded and ran at the building and used my chakra to blast a hole in the wall.
"Kommu-!" was all that one German could start before I moved, slitting his throat and killing the other 3.
"Dimitri," I stood guard and watched while Reznov pulled Dimitri to his feet while laughing. "Once again you cheat death, Our tanks are ready to smash this line," Reznov turned to me. "Are these pigs dead?" I raised an eyebrow giving him a 'Are you kidding me?' look. "Right, dumb question."
"We good to continue?" I asked, cracking my neck.
"Indeed." Reznov handed Dimitri a rifle and we all ran out we came across fields of wheat. "Burn the wheat fields! There will be no escape! SHOOT!"
"Stand back." I stepped forward and formed a hand seal and started inhaling.
"GET DOWN!" Reznov shouted.
"Katon! Gōka Mekkyaku." waves of fire were unleashed and in seconds the field was ash. "Now for the rest of these fascist dogs!" I ran off charging into a wave of German soldiers cutting them down without remorse, behind me I heard the sounds of gunfire and I could tell Reznov was saying something but I didn't care so I blocked it out. When I was done I walked over to Reznov and Dimitri, blood still dripping from my blade and arm.
"Don't you know the meaning of the word, Restraint?" Dimitri asked, he was smiling and I chuckled.
"Restraint?" I asked an amused look on my face, "you think that wasn't restraint?" I continued forward and I heard Dimitri gulp behind me.
"See how things have changed, my friend?" Reznov asked, "Now it is their land... Their people... Their blood." As we ran, we eventually reached a river that went in two different directions. "Hunt them down like the rats they are! Drive them back!" Reznov threw a Molotov and when it hit Germans they burst into black flames. "These are surprisingly effective, comrade."
"Amaterasu," I nodded, "Inextinguishable black flames that consume all in their path leaving not but ash." Reznov nodded again.
"Into the river! After Stalingrad, I know to trust your instincts, Dimitri. Left or right?... You lead the way." Dimitri barely hesitated and went left as we ran Rexnov shouted. "Drive them into the forest! Let their burning country be the last thing they see!" As we ran we slaughtered more Germans.
"I'm surprised that you kill them without hesitation," Kurama said. "Considering how much you once claimed that you aren't a god that you can't just kill whoever you look at."
"Life can't just be taken willy nilly, but this is different, this is war," I responded as I struck down more Germans. "Plus this doesn't change my goal, to make my way to Berlin, grab the Time Stone and use it to return to my time, and end Kronos once and for all."
"Not to rain on your parade, but how do you intend to kill him."
"As I was being dragged into the time portal I saw Kronos' weak point, the place that Luke's body was, so when I get back I'll be aiming there."
"Where was it?"
"A small section under his left arm, definitely hard to hit even on purpose, but now I know where to aim my blade and it will strike true." As we charged forward I passed the corpses of fall Russians and I even saw a young man, he couldn't have been older than me his wounds were bad but he was still alive, I ran over to him.
"Y-you," he choked out, "Hero of Stalingrad,"
"Save your strength." I chastised him, "I'll get you back on your feet."
"You don't have to lie, I can already feel my string being cut."
"Then tell me your name," I replied, "so I can know the name of the man whose life has been cut short because of this cruel war."
"Spiridon Putin," I looked at him.
"Your fate is not yet set in stone." I held my hand out to him. "I will not let you fall."
"Don't bother, brother," he let loose a pained chuckle, "I am proud to die for my country, for the Mother-Land, for Olympus." He let loose one last choked 'URA' then died, I looked at him and for whatever reason, be it sleep deprivation or something else I couldn't understand I saw Tyson's image appear over this man's corpse and rage exploded in my soul.
"No." I growled, "I am done with this war, but you will not lose your life, today brother." I slammed my hands together, "Gedo Rinne Tensei no Jutsu." Greenlight flooded the man before me and his wounds healed instantly before his soul flew back into his body. Spiridon gasped as breath returned to him and he looked up at me clearly not understanding what he was seeing.
"H-how?" he asked.
"For one with these eyes, the forces of Life and Death are but mere suggestions, not limitations." I pulled him to his feet, "and the death I prevented will be paid back a thousandfold when we bring down the fascist Reich." I clapped my hand on his shoulder, "TO VICTORY!" I shouted and the cry was taken up as we charged, up ahead I saw the ruins of four tanks and Dimitri had a Panzerschreck strapped to his back, we made our way towards a barn and I saw Reznov look at Dimitri.
"Dimitri, I see time has not weakened your aim! You could learn much from this man, Chernov... Break open the door! The cowards may hide in shadows, but we will find them!" 2 Red Army soldiers attempt to open the barn door, but another Wehrmacht King Tiger tank bursts through the door, killing them both. "CHYORT! Another tank! Dimitri! Take it down! AGAIN!"
"Susanoo!" I crushed the tank between the fists of the ethereal warrior and I heard the screams of the dying Germans inside.
"Captain Reznov, you seem to relish in the slaughter." Another man spoke as we charged in.
" I have seen my friends die in front of me at the hands of this vermin." Reznov shot the back door and kicked it down. "They deserve everything they get... and more." Red Army tanks begin rolling by. "Dimitri, ride on one of the tanks, Madara you too. You have earned the rest. Chernov! You have not. You walk." Dimitri got on one of the tanks but I continued walking as had drained maybe 1/1000th of a percent of my chakra, The squad, and the tanks move up the road and meet Wehrmacht resistance.
"The path is blocked... Our tanks cannot move up."
"They will find a way around! This is it, men. CHARGE!" We charge into the camp and attack the Wehrmacht soldiers. "When we clear this compound, we can revel in a great victory. Bring down those towers! Use the Panzerschreck! Find some rockets! Blow up those towers!"
"Katon: Bakufū Ranbu!" Fire quickly roasted the Wehrmacht while Dimitri destroyed one of the towers.
"Comrades, follow Madara and Dimitri's example." A Wehrmacht truck rolls up.
"German truck approaching!" Another soldier shouted
"Dimitri! Blow it to pieces before they take positions!" The Red Army soldiers advance further into the compound.
"They are pulling back!"
"It matters not where they choose to die! Hunt them down! No mercy was shown to my comrades in Stalingrad. No mercy will be shown here. An eye for an eye!" The Wehrmacht soldiers began running away from the Red Army soldiers instead of shooting back. "Victory is at hand! The German cowards desert their posts, but they have nowhere left to run! HA! They scatter like cockroaches in the light!" The Wehrmacht soldiers are eliminated. Red Army soldiers gather around as Reznov steps onto a tank. "From this moment on... Every step we take brings us closer to Berlin. Closer to victory! Closer to revenge! URA!"
(Time skip April 16)
I was driving a tank, which I was very much enjoying as I never had the chance before, I observed everything before me with my eyes and had charged all the tank shells with Kurama's chakra so they would hit much harder than normal shells.
"Brave Comrades of The 3rd Shock Army." The voice of Commissar Markhov sounded over the radio. "Today we lay waste to the German Line! Push forward to the train station!"
"Dimitri, ready the Flamethrower!" a wave of fire was shot from a tank on my left. "Madara, why did you tinker with your flamethrower?"
"Regular flame is so boring" I replied, "the black flames are more fun."
"I see, just try not to hit our tanks."
"Don't worry, I reinforced our tanks with powerful seals to counter my flames should they hit our tanks." We wasted no time and began our assault on the German lines, our tanks smashed through them and the sounds of burning Germans sounded in the air as they were cut down by the Flamethrowers or crushed underneath our armor.
"88 southwest!" I saw Dimitri fire a tank shell at a nearby tank and I also fired at it and the tank exploded, I laughed and turned my gun on the retreating German Line.
"No Retreat! No Surrender!" I shouted as I torched and gunned them down, our tanks made our way across the German countryside, destroying tanks and other targets and eventually we reached a camp with a radio tower, Dimitri and I open fired upon the camp and brought down the radio tower.
"Good work, Dimitri, Madara, there will be no cry for reinforcements! Enough talk. We must push forward to the train station!" We made our way to the Wehrmacht base and our planes bombarded the place with bombs and we cleared out the survivors.
"The Train station is is within our grasp!" Markhov's voice sounded again, and we drove up the hill and destroyed any remaining survivors and finally, we made our way to the train station, then made our way onto the train, I was standing next to Dimitri and Reznov.
"Fortune smiles on us! In Berlin, the Germans will truly see what they have unleashed!" In the midst of all the blood, the bullets and the dead... I found that an old friend was still very much alive... Dimitri Petrenko! I saw this man cheat death... Time after time at the siege of Stalingrad, and Madara has been the terror of the battlefield, the Germans will forever tell Horror stories of The Ghost of the Uchiha, as long as they live, the heart of this army cannot be broken, they make us all proud!"
(Time skip one week later)
As we rode the train bound for Pankow, I was roused from my sleep, and I looked at Reznov who was a bit concerned.
"Something the matter, Comrade?"
"Every drop of Rusian blood spilled is an insult to me," I said my voice was grim, "when we reach Berlin I will leave nothing but ash, I will show them that not even The gods will save them."
"A good reason as any, but I can't help but feel there is something missing, perhaps another reason, ever since our mission Seelow Heights, you've been especially brutal, even by my standards."
"My reasons are my own." I said as I got to my feet and grabbed my gunbai off my back.
"This war has taken its toll on you, Comrade, I hope you have someone waiting for you." Annabeth flashed in my mind, everything I loved about her, the way she laughed at my antics, her smile, the way her hair danced in the wind, and above all else her strength, she was my world, my pillar of strength, and I would give anything to stand by her side forever.
"She is more important than you can possibly imagine." I jumped out of the train car and positioned myself behind cover as I heard the Commissar shout.
"On the Führer's birthday... A barrage of Katyusha rockets will tear Berlin to pieces. With your bullets... With your bayonets... With your bare hands... Do the same to their wretched soldiers!" Soon a barrage of rockets slammed into the building in front of us.
"CHARGE!" Reznov shouted, as one the army charged forward but I had a different Idea, I used the power of my eyes to jump into the air well above the rest of my allies and my foes, I held up my hand to the sky forming a gigantic ball of gravity.
"Now they will know despair." the ball splintered and fired smaller ones in multiple directions and then hovered in place, I clapped my hands. "Chibaku Tensei." The ground splintered and huge chunks rose up to each sphere forming a meteor, the sounds of combat stopped as both sides looked up in horror as 20 meteors formed. "They're a little bigger and more solid than raindrops." I thrust my hand down directing the meteors towards the encamped German soldiers. I saw several drop to their knees and my eyes clearly saw them form the words. 'Mein Gott.' The meteors got closer to impact and I smiled cruelly, then the impact was made and the flames, as well as the shock wave, consumed everything in their path. I descended back down from the heavens landing in front of the Red Army who was looking at me with shock, and I laughed a bit. "How's that for a barrage on the Fuhrer's birthday?" I asked the Commissar who's jaw had long since dropped and he looked at me.
"W-what the hell was that?"
"Releasing some pent up aggression that doesn't involve ungodly amount alcohol or a one night stand." I replied matter of factly and I saw some members of the Red Army blush and a few scuffles their feet in embarrassment, the commissar turned to face the rest of the Red Army.
"With the destruction of the German forces, we can continue our march to Berlin." He raised his fist into the air, "URA!"
"URA!" The cry was taken up by the rest of the Red Army, after a few days of marching we made our way into the heart of Germany and it was with horror that I recognized this place, we had arrived at Sachsenhausen, and the unmistakable smell of burning corpses was fresh in the air.
"Bastards." I growled and began walking towards the gates.
"Madara!" the commissar shouted and the rest of the army had stopped to look at me, even though I was a man who respected orders the rest of the Red Army knew I didn't like if orders contradicted my moral code. Everyone knew that people getting in the way of me saving lives was at the one thing was the one thing I didn't tolerate, "Stay in line." I turned to him and I growled again.
"These animals-" I started before the commissar looked at me and I saw in his eye, he was as horrified as I was.
"I understand your rage, your desire for vengeance but you can't-"
"Can't what?' I growled through my teeth, "do you know what I learned in one of my last intel raids?"
"No."
"I dug around and found the Fuhrer's latest orders, his 'Final Solution' as he called it and in the last report sent to Berlin do you know what number they reported?"
"What?"
"55 million," I walked up to the Commissar and looked him in the face. "And that number is only going to keep rising."
"Our orders are to bring down the Fascist Reich,"
"And the longer that takes the more lives are lost."
"The Fuhrer will pay for every crime committed." The Commissar squared up and glared at me, the silence was palpable.
"I still wish to go in and save lives."
"Then go Madara, save those who you can, then meet with us in the next town over." I nodded then ran into the camp cutting down anyone who stood in my way, after a while of cutting down the Germans I found a group of survivors, and I nearly puked at what I saw. I'd seen many like them but for some reason, I'd always react like this when coming upon a concentration camp.
"Hello." I spoke in German and the group before me flinched a bit. "You don't need to worry, I am here to free you from her, I only speak German for communication, but if you'd prefer I can speak Russian." One of the survivors stepped forward,
"Are you truly from Russia?" He asked, responding in German.
"Soviet command, unit 83, my name is Madara Uchiha." I showed them the symbol of the Soviet command and the relief in their eyes was heartbreaking. "Do you have anywhere you can go? Somewhere you'd be safe?" the man in front of me shook his head. I reached into my pouch and unsealed a small bag and handed it to the man. "Inside this bag is a collection of small pills, they are created specifically to restore your energy, please only take one every 3 days." The man looked at me. "If you are afraid that this is poisoned or in any way, I will eat one in front of you." I popped one in my mouth, chewing it, swallowing, and looking at the gathered Jewish survivors. One of them reached into the bag and ate one of the pills and the color was restored to his face and he seemed to regain a bit of his weight.
"God bless you, Sir." the man spoke shaking my hand repeatedly.
"There is a soviet command station not too far from here, if you make it there, I'm sure the commissar will ensure your safety." I handed the man who I'd been speaking to a map and placed a seal on it. "This map will guide you true, no matter where you are, I have to go and rejoin my command, may the Gods smile upon you." With that, I ran off to rejoin my command, a smile on my lips. "Soon Annabeth, soon you and I will be reunited."
(Time Skip April 24, Berlin)
The last few days had been rough, as we closed in on Berlin, those who stood in our way were cut down, and our victory was near, I was standing in front of German POW's my glare and rage were tangible to all in the room.
"Töten Sie mich, nicht!" (Don't kill me, Please!) the man begged.
"Why shouldn't I? I growled responding in the same language, "why should I spare you?" The man fumbled into his coat and pulled out a locket with a picture of two people, a woman, and a small child.
"Bitte, ich habe eine Frau und einen Sohn, sie werden am Boden zerstört sein, wenn ich nicht zurückkehre." (Please, I have a wife and son, they will be devastated if I do not return.)
"And what of those you killed, those whose loved ones will never return because of you and those like you?"
"Ich habe nur Befehle befolgt." (I was only following orders.) the man begged, my eyes widened in rage.
"Orders?" I questioned my voice deadly calm and I heard some of my fellow Russians back up in fear, the man could only nod. My rage exploded and my chakra along with it, the room shook, cracked and was blown apart. "DON'T YOU EVEN DARE THINK THAT EXCUSE WILL FLY WITH ME!" I held up my hand and lightning danced on my fingers, I grabbed his head and flooded his head with lightning chakra, the reaction was instantaneous, he started screaming and convulsing as every nerve in his body was fried and I glared at him the whole time. It didn't take long for his screams to stop but I didn't stop until his skin charred. I tossed the corpse aside and I turned around, Reznov and the others stared at me fear etched on their faces.
"Wow." Kurama spoke, "That was brutal even by my standards." I stopped and entered my mindscape to look at the ancient Biju who was lying on his stomach looking at me.
"What have I become Kurama?" I asked tears spilling from my eyes, "What kind of monster has these cruel years transformed me into?"
"That's just it, you're not a monster."
"How can you say that?!" I glared, "I just electrocuted a man to death, and I felt nothing, how can you lay there and say I am not a monster?"
"A monster doesn't regret his actions, a monster doesn't show compassion or empathy for the suffering he causes. You do both of these things, you regret the pain you inflict, you understand the suffering you cause and it is because you feel this guilt that you know you are still human." Kurama shrank down and took on a human form, he was a bit taller than me, his hair was long like mine but instead of draped over his eye it was brushed out his face, the same color as his fur, he had whiskers marks on his cheeks, he wore a red kimono with black trimmings. He held out his arm and placed it on my shoulder and looked into my eyes unblinkingly, but I could see the look of concern on his face, "While I won't pretend to understand the complexity of human emotions, I do know that your pain runs deep, but know this kit." Kurama hugged me, something that surprised me, "You will always have friends, those who will care for you, I will tell you something that Itachi once told Naruto, 'However strong you become, never seek to bear everything alone. If you do, failure is certain.'" Kurama went back to having his hands on my shoulders. "Your strength is undeniable but for once in your life, listen to someone else's advice and don't try to bear the burden of this world alone." I wiped a tear from my eyes and smiled sadly.
"Thank you Kurama." I turned on my heel and exited my mindscape, when I opened my eyes I had a new fire burning in my soul. I went outside and had to immediately dodge a barrage of Rockets that tore apart the roof and even knocked some down.
"This is madness!" Chernov protested, "Our rockets are tearing the city apart!"
"Get inside!" Reznov shouted and we followed him down a staircase, I saw a group of Wehrmacht Soldiers unaware of our presence. "Stop!" we halted. "Shhhh! Move quietly, take them by surprise.
"Let me." I closed the distance and snapped their necks, they didn't even have time to scream, within a few seconds the Germans were dead.
"Room clear." We ventured deeper into the building when it shook.
"Look out!" one of my fellow Russians shouted.
"Keep your head down."
"The building is collapsing around us!" Chernov shouted we moved killing more Wehrmacht as we went, eventually we came across a Wehrmacht with a gun to one of our soldier's head.
"Killing me will not save you. My comrades show no mercy."
"Your comrades are not here." a shot rang out as Dimitri put a bullet in the Wehrmacht's head.
"The area is heavily defended! Dimitri, throw a Molotov down there! Burn them!" Reznov shouted.
"Gladly." Dimitri replied and threw the Molotov in the hole and the screams of Germans filled the air as they were burned alive. Eventually, we moved through the room-clearing it of any survivors when the sounds of gunfire filled the air, it was a sound I knew well.
"MG42!" I shouted and threw up my Susanoo to shield my comrades, I turned to them. "Stay behind me, my Susanoo will shield you." Bullets hit the Susanoo but were deflected without issue.
"Lauf, es ist der Geist der Uchiha!" (Run, it's the Ghost of the Uchiha!) I laughed at the fear on their faces then commanded my Susanoo to slam its fist into the gunner, he died with a scream of agony. With the gunner taken care of, we made our way further into the building which was a hall coated in flame and covered in smoke.
"Stay low." Reznov commanded. "Smoke can steal your breath."
"I can barely see." Chernov comments.
"I can hardly breathe." another soldier comments.
"Complaining will not help you," Reznov chastised them. "just keep low, in Stalingrad, Dimitri and I crawled through many smoke-filled buildings, Do you hear him complaining?"
"What about Madara." They looked at me.
"I've coated my lungs with chakra and as for sight, my eyes see chakra in all its forms I am no less deadly than ever," I commented, "besides compared to what I've gone through over the years this is nothing." Reznov and Dimitri snickered at that, over the last few years I had trusted Dimitri and Reznov with my secret, that I was from 70 years in the future, they didn't believe me at first but when I showed them the truth they quickly reversed their stance on it. I made them swear on the Styx that they would tell no one until I gave them permission as I warned them that knowledge of the future was dangerous and if I told them the outcome of the war it wouldn't happen. We fought our way to the nearby street, and eventually made our way onto the streets of Berlin, I saw the bodies of both Russian and German soldiers littering the ground while the roar of Russian tanks as we crushed the resistance of the German forces, I marched alongside Reznov and the others.
"Stay with the tanks! MG's up ahead Third floor, keep moving." I threw a Kunai at the window that Reznov mentioned and heard a scream as the blade struck true. "Never mind." I smiled a bit then a tank blew up a nearby building and caused a bit of shell shock. "Make sure they are all dead!" I felt the need to rest and threw Kuani at angles that would guarantee death. "Kill them all!" Eventually, we reached the entrance to the metro and there were Wehrmacht on their knees with their hands up, several Red Army soldiers with Molotovs.
"Chernov!" Dimitri growled, "What is going on?"
"They are trying to surrender."
"Look around you, Chernov…" I said, "Do you think these men will be denied their revenge? Death comes in two ways, slow or fast." Dimitri shot each in the head quickly ending their lives.
"Chernov, you should learn from Dimitri…" Reznov commented. "he understands the nature of mercy killing." Chernov started to protest but I held up a hand.
"He's right," I added, "revenge is an ugly thing, it builds up and transforms even the smallest fire into a raging inferno that consumes all in its path."
"You speak as if you have first-hand experience." Dimitri commented a memory flashed in my mind when Sasuke told me about how his quest to avenge our clan when it was slain by Itachi consumed him completely. How he cast aside everything he held dear for the sake of power and how he nearly killed his best friend because of this desire.
"Far more than you can imagine."
"Into the Metro!" Reznov shouted, we made our way over to the entrance and I used my Susanoo to rip open the door and we made our way down and set up some fortifications. "Split up, cover both platforms." We did as ordered, we took our positions and I activated my eyes smiling into the darkness, the Wehrmacht were visible to me by the chakra they gave off.
'Time to hunt." I pulled out a Hiraishin Kunai and threw it onto one of the pillars, then I teleported to it, kicked it so I could teleport again, and soon the army of Wehrmacht was dead. I turned to face my fellow sons of Poseidon and smiled as I put my kunai away. "Shall we contin-" just then several explosions rang out as the tunnel collapsed on top of all of us. I was able to shield myself with my Susanoo then everything went dark as we were buried alive under rubble and rock. I wasted no time in busting out and made my way over to my fellows to unbury them, several were dead but Dimitri and Reznov had managed to shelter themselves from the destruction and were going up a nearby staircase.
"You will be okay," He spoke to Dimitri, "Do you hear me, they blew up their own metro in an effort to kill us, Dimitri once again, they failed, once more we cheat death, you will be okay, relax for a few minutes breath deeply." He turned and looked at Chernov who was writing in a Journal, Reznov growls but I placed a hand on his shoulder.
"It is his way of coping with the horrors of war, and it is better that those who did not experience this tragedy learn about it from those who suffered during it."
"You defend his actions?"
"Would you prefer that those who gave their lives be forgotten?" Reznov actually seemed to be taken aback by my question.
"No, you are right, you show wisdom beyond your years." I snorted a bit, we then made our way out and I saw the building that Stiner told me about.
"Unfortunately, this is where I must take my leave of you."
"Why? We are so close to victory." I turned to Reznov and I pointed to the building which was my destination.
"My way home is in that building, my way out of this hell and back to the woman I love."
"I see, but this war…"
"Will have to be won without me if anyone asks, I was killed in the explosion," I turned to Chernov and Dimitri. "It has been an honor to serve with you, I swear to you this, your names will be remembered as long this world has ears to listen." I gave one last salute then made my way to the building and busted down the door.
"Kommunisten!" I heard several Germans shout.
"Falsch, ich bin der Tod." (Wrong, I am death) I dashed forward killing any who stood in the path of my blade, waves of Germans fell and soon I came across two people near the door they had symbols of the Vatican on them.
"Dobbiamo sbrigarci, i comunisti sono quasi qui." One said. (We have to hurry, the communists are almost here)
"Ci sto provando, ma non conosco il codice per questa porta." I unleashed my chakra and the two turned to face me fear etched on their faces.
"And what?" I began in english, "do you two think you're doing?"
"Il demone dagli occhi cremisi." (The Crimson Eyed Demon)
"I don't know what you said," I started my eyes narrowing, "But I'm going to assume you won't get out of my way." They pointed their guns at me.
"Die!" one shouted I closed the distance and sliced at them, but to my shock, the sword passed through them.
"Mortals." I growled then used my eyes to knock them out with a time-delayed genjutsu, I dragged them off then opened the door and made my way down, eventually made my way to a room with a table and there were 3 people. The first was a short, plump man with blond hair and golden eyes. His hair is oddly styled, with a longer section coming up and then down again in the front left side of his head, like a folded piece of paper. He is dressed impeccably, wearing an expensive white suit with a long matching overcoat, white gloves, glasses, and a black-tie with a red gem on it. In flashbacks, he is seen in a German SS Officer's uniform, but with the coat draped over his shoulders like a cloak. The second is dressed in a bloodstained white lab coat, an unusual shirt which reveals his lower torso, and glasses with an assortment of adjustable, multi-lensed spectacles. He wore four-fingered gloves with both his ring finger and pinky forced into the last one. Finally, the last man was tall and had snow-white hair, bloody red eyes, and somewhat tanned skin. He wears an overcoat similar to the green Deutsches Afrikakorps Greatcoat with its neck guard constantly turned up and an M43 officer's cap emblazoned with the Totenkopf symbol. His trousers are a darker shade of green and he wears boots.
"And so," the man in the white coat started, "ze terror of Ze Eastern Front makes his vay to me."
"You know why I'm here, no doubt." I said walking forward my sword pointed to the ground.
"Yes, you are here for ze Time Stone, but you vill not take it."
"And what exactly do you think you three could do to stop me?" I smiled sickly and I saw the man in the green coat twitch and I tightened my grip on my sword.
"You seem on edge." The man in the bloodstained coat added. "As if you are afraid ve vill attack you."
"You think you scare us, Uchiha?"
"Oh, I terrify you," I commented, my smile widening. "I know it, I can feel the fear in your chakra." The man in the green coat closed distance fist drawn back to punch I ducked under it and countered with a kick to the gut. The man went flying and I looked at the other two who were a bit shocked, I pointed my sword at them, with my eyes glowing. "Next?" I cracked my neck, "None of you will stop me from getting home to her." I charged forward the man in the green coat charged me again but I locked eyes with him. "Sleep mutt!' he collapsed as my genjutsu took hold, I closed the distance between me and the blonde commander, slammed him against the wall and held my Chidori at his throat. "Surrender the Time Stone."
"You vill have to kill me." I heard a gun click behind me and felt the barrel against my head.
"Unhand him." I heard the other german command.
"Not until he gives me what I want."
"Then DI-!" I heard the hammer pull back so I did the only logical thing, I stopped time. I turned around and slammed my fist against the side of the German's head. I looked at the German I was threatening, then saw he was smiling at me and that's when I noticed the Time stone on his finger.
"So that's what you're planning." I commented.
"So you noticed, I am able to move your vurld of stopped time." The German commander replied,
"So what if you can, it won't save you."
"How so?" In a blur of speed I sliced off the hand with the time stone while simultaneously unfreezing time, the german I punched earlier went flying as the one in front of me
"That's why." I grabbed the Time Stone Ring and laughed. "Bye." I used my Hirashin to teleport into my pocket dimension. I looked at the stone on my finger, and smiled a bit then threw my head back as I laughed while tears poured down my face.
"Are you okay Percy?" Kurama asked.
"At long last," I felt relief flooding me, "I have my way out of this hell." I channeled my power into the stone and a large hourglass appeared before me I waved my hand and sand from the bottom flew back into the top and I felt myself de-age to the point to where I was when I first arrived.
"Why did you do that?"
"Do you need to ask that?"
"Annabeth?"
"Annabeth." I agreed. I then waved my hand and a large tunnel of time appeared in front of me, I walked forward into the tunnel finally returning to my timeline.
