Hello everyone, this chapter marks the beginning of the Siegfried Arc. If you're wondering, yes Siegfried is the first dark force that our group will go up against.
While I have revealed the teams Ash and Serena are going to have for this arc, this arc will mostly revolve around their starters Frogadier and Braixen as this was the hunter who killed their families and have emotionally scarred them unless they were around Ash and Serena.
There will be graphic moments that may seem disturbing which what I have warned you about. After all, Siegfried is a violent Pokémon murder who will kill them. I don't think this arc is as violent as I thought it would be. In fact, I was actually trying to tone it down. There will still be blood and Pokémon getting killed though as it is in Siegfried's nature.
The first scene will be a good example, but not every single part of this series will be vicious graphic bloodbaths. While this chapter does have violent moments, the whole arc won't be filled with those types of things so there will be some calm moments. Also expect some drama as well.
I also took the time that there is going to be some justice on Siegfried's character as in what may have caused him to become the sadistic hunter he is. That'll likely be covered near the end of the arc.
PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I do not own Pokémon!
Shoreline
The beach look beautiful with all of its sand and tranquil water. Alongside the shore were a couple of Krabby walking along the shoreline. It just felt so peaceful right now, well until an unsettling figure came by. The Krabby were looking at it seeing what it was.
A motorboat was driving towards the shoreline and the boat was actually black almost in the form of a jeep. Then the boat touched down on the shore and suddenly the boat turned into an actual jeep. The Krabby were looking on and noticed that the jeep was coming towards them. It wasn't the vehicle that gave them those vibes, but the driver of that vehicle.
A man stepped out of the jeep and looked at the Krabby with a menacing smile. He had a shiny bald head with no hair around and was overly muscular. He wore a camouflage jacket with no shirt underneath, brown cargo pants, and a pair of black combat boots. He also had on a pair of sunglasses to show how tough he truly is. As the Krabby looked at the man, they knew he wasn't good news.
"A whole bunch of fucking Krabby are in the way," the menacing man said as he pulled out a spiked club, "Guess I have to clear them out."
The man approached the Krabby with his club and swung down at the first Krabby. The man repeatedly smacked the Krabby to the ground until it was dead. Krabby's shell cracked and lots of blood was coming out, and then the man smothered his club onto Krabby and grinded it onto it's dead body bringing out a whole bunch of guts. All of the Krabby looked on with complete terror that this man just killed one of its kind with no purpose why.
"Fuck this thing, it only kills one Pokémon!" the man exclaimed as he tossed the club away.
All of the Krabby began to make a run for it, but they were too slow. That was way more than enough time for the muscular man to get into his jeep and pull out a flamethrower.
"This will kill all these bastards a lot faster," the man said in a dark tone as he turned on the flamethrower.
The man started to fire the flamethrower at all the Krabby. All of the Krabby were starting to scream from the impact of the fire as it scorched all of them alive, and this even included their nature that they were water-type Pokémon who were weak to fire. All of the Krabby screamed until they collapsed and die, and the man did nothing but show a small smile. What kind of person would find joy in killing Pokémon?
Then the man looks at all of the Krabby. They were laying there lifeless on the ground as they looked like they were overcooked. The sight of dead Pokémon was truly refreshing to him.
"Now I'm off to kill more Pokémon," the man said with a menacing voice.
The man put his flamethrower away and hopped back into his jeep. The man would floor it as he didn't drive away but began to run over the dead Krabby. Bodies would burst and more blood and guts came out as he ran over each dead Krabby. Then the joyride stopped when he punctured his tires. Apparently he was so obsessed with killing Pokémon that he forgot about Krabby's pincers.
The man got out of the jeep and looked at the gut wrenched Krabbys. The man gave a furious look at all of these dead Pokémon. Those Krabby weren't scared of his dark look because they were dead. No one could even tell if he had a dark look with those sunglasses.
"Your dead body punctured the tires on my jeep," the man said giving a sigh.
The man reached down and ripped off one of Krabby's pincers. He then slammed the pincer into his eye gushing it out. Did Krabby's flesh have to be tortured even more?
"Now I have to change my tires because of your fucking pincers," the man said towards the dead Krabby as he continued to scrape its eyeball into mush.
After the man finished scraping the Krabby's eyeball, he went back to his jeep and pulled out his spare tires. Despite his arsenal of weapons, he did carry spare tires for emergencies like this.
"I'm wasting time changing these Arceus damn tires when I should be out killing Pokémon," the man muttered as he got out his tires and tools.
This man was truly a monster as he kills Pokémon whenever he pleases. Not for the sake of profit or a resource to make clothing, but just killing because he enjoys it.
This was Siegfried, a truly evil hunter.
No one wondered why Siegfried would go around killing Pokémon. Back then he would usually be a lot more menacing, now it feels like he feels some untouched sadness. Something must've triggered this man to go out killing Pokémon.
In the Grotto
All of the Pokémon were crying and screaming in horror as they heard about Kadabra's senses of evil coming their way. Snorlax never in his life has seen the Pokémon in the grotto so terrified. As the leader, guardian, and peacekeeper for all of these Pokémon, Snorlax had to take a stand as a leader.
"Everybody quiet!" Snorlax yelled as he raised his arms.
All of the Pokémon stopped with their crying and screaming and looked up at Snorlax.
"I know were all scared about what Kadabra might have seen, but we have to remain calm. As long as we remain hidden, we'll be fine. But don't worry, if by any chances we do end up in danger, we'll get our defenses ready," Snorlax announced to everyone, "In the meantime do not leave the grotto by any means necessary!"
Everyone was looking at Snorlax. Sure, all of the Pokémon were completely scared for their lives about what was going on, but Snorlax always seems to have that calming aroma. He has watched over them like his own children since coming here including having a child of his own, and he wouldn't let anything bad happen to them.
"Trust me, I'm scared like all of you, but we have to stick together through this. For the sake of all the Pokémon," Snorlax stated.
While everyone in the grotto was taking some deep breaths, there were a few Pokémon inside who looked completely frightened. An Electabuzz, a Magmar, and a Jynx were all frantically looking around to see where their kids were.
"We can't find our kids!" a Pokémon screamed.
The Pokémon were all started by that outburst. Everyone looked around and saw that it was the Electabuzz who shouted that out. All of the Pokémon were looking at the three Pokémon as they were scared to death.
"They're right," Rapidash called out as she noticed, "Their kids are not with us."
"Maybe they're somewhere in here and they haven't found you yet," another Pokémon told them.
"No, we would've found an Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum in here," Electabuzz stated, "And I don't see any of them."
"Do you think…they're back at the lake?" Jynx questioned in fear.
Electabuzz's, Magmar's, and Jynx's eyes widened when they heard that. They were playing at the lake before everyone came on over, and they never arrived here. Could it be that those Pokémon are still at the lake?
All three of those Pokémon got on their knees and started to hyper-ventilate. Their kids were not in the grotto like everyone else. Munchlax looked at those three Pokémon and he can remember those Pokémon. They were the Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum that he and Seel encountered when they were being chased by a flock of Spearow for taking their berries.
"Seel," Munchlax uttered to Seel.
The red cap wearing Seel turned to look at Munchlax. Munchlax had a concerned look on his face that Seel noticed.
"What's the matter Munchlax?" Seel asked.
"By any chance are those missing kids the three Pokémon you saved a while back while you were with me on that little adventure?" Munchlax questioned.
Seel heard what Munchlax said, and his memory was completely refreshed. It was indeed those three Pokémon Seel saved from the Spearow.
"I think you might be right," Seel said in alarm.
Munchlax looked over at the three Pokémon who were panicking. Surely his dad could go out and look for them, but that would leave the Pokémon vulnerable in case danger were to come in. Who in the right mind would go out right now to make sure their kids were safe? Everyone was too busy keeping everyone safe from whatever was here, and no one would be able to go out looking for them.
Munchlax then looked at the exit to the grotto. He felt a sense of determination that if no one would go out after those Pokémon, then he would. Munchlax still has those bad memories of when he had his encounter with Shepard, but he wasn't letting that take over. His father has always put the Pokémon and his own son ahead of himself when needed no matter how he felt or what was going through his mind, and Munchlax could feel those genes of his dad kicking in. He wasn't going to let that experience with Shepard get the best of him anymore, besides this could be even worse.
"Seel, I'm going out there," Munchlax told Seel in an utter tone.
Seel looked at Munchlax in shock. Was he thinking that Munchlax has gone crazy?
"We can't go out Seel, you heard your father!" Seel exclaimed, "Everyone must stay inside until we know this has passed over or it's taken care of."
"I don't care. I'm looking at three parents who are scared for their kids, and I can't stand seeing them like that," Munchlax argued.
"We just have to hope they're safe like the other Pokémon who could get here. Right now, we have to lay low," Seel stated.
Munchlax glared at Seel. Seel realized that this Munchlax wasn't scared, especially after nearly being killed by that ranger. Munchlax who was a child, wanted to go out and save those kids. While Seel wanted to show authority, he couldn't help but have respect for him. Munchlax really did remind him of Snorlax, he really did take after his father. Seel lost his expression and gave a sigh.
"Alright, you can go under one condition," Seel stated.
"What's that?" Munchlax questioned.
"I'm going with you. Not only so you can be protected and to make sure Snorlax isn't worrying a whole lot, but I'm your best friend as well and friends look out for each other," Seel explained.
"Wow, thanks Seel," Munchlax said feeling lots of respect.
Ponyta was near her mother as he overheard the conversation. So those two slowpokes are going out when there is trouble and they aren't fast enough to get way. Ponyta walked over and stepped in.
"Count me in too," Ponyta replied.
Munchlax and Seel looked at Ponyta who approached them. This was the same Ponyta who helped Munchlax and Seel get back home.
"You two need some fast transport and I may be your best option," Ponyta stated.
Ponyta made a good point, the two Pokémon were slow and needed her mother's help to get back to the grotto to outrun the rangers. Wait a minute, didn't Ponyta say something else like.
"But you said you can't carry both of us," Munchlax replied.
"Don't worry, I've grown a bit and gotten stronger. I can now carry more weight than before right now. So, I will be able to give both of you a lift," Ponyta explained.
"What about the other Pokémon if we find them?" Seel questioned.
"I'm confident that I can carry them as well," Ponyta stated, "We have a crisis and like Munchlax's dad, we have to go beyond to help others."
Munchlax looked at both Seel and Ponyta. It was amazing that he was getting support. While it may be only two Pokémon siding with him, it gives him much more confidence to get back out there. Best of all, Seel is the one with the most experience so he can come up with the best options to handle any trouble.
"Alright Ponyta, you can come on in," Seel said as he stuck out his flipper.
Seel and Ponyta shook…their hand like species. (Seel's flipper and Ponyta's hoof) Then Seel looked around to see if any of the higher up Pokémon were looking at them. This was their chance to get out.
"Alright, now let's go before anyone notices," Munchlax commanded.
Seel and Ponyta nodded as they snuck over to the exit. They were able to get outside without being detected. Munchlax looked around the area and could see that everything was quiet. There was nothing here as of right now. Munchlax was the first one out followed by Seel and then Ponyta.
Once they stepped out, they could hear something way out in the distance. It sounded like a machine gun and a loud menacing laugh. Was this the danger they were warned about?
"Let's be careful," Seel said as Munchlax led the way and then he goes into thought, "Elekid, Magby, Smoochum, I hope you three are alright."
Somewhere in the forest with Ash and Serena
For the past three days, Frogadier and Braixen have been overly anxious. First they were standing there looking disturbed, now they have been screaming and crying out of control. Ash and Serena have spent lots of time with their starters giving them hugs and rubbing their backs, but they still go haywire.
Luckily for right now, the two Pokémon have caught a break and calmed down. They decided to stop their travels and give their Pokémon a quick meal to stay healthy. The rest of the Pokémon in the group looked over at Frogadier and Braixen in complete concern.
Along with their starters, Rotom Dex, and Pikachu, their Pokémon as of right now consisted of Pidgeotto, Charmeleon, Scyther, Primeape, and Krabby for Ash and Kadabra, Wartortle, Slowpoke, Pinsir, and Eevee for Serena. They haven't gotten much training in due to Frogadier's and Braixen's troubled moods and now that it was worse, they couldn't help but be glad to see Professor Sycamore.
All Ash and Serena could do is hope that Frogadier and Braixen can hang in there much longer and get the help they need. No Pokémon deserves to suffer like this.
"Well they're doing better than before," Serena said.
"I know," Ash uttered.
Everybody was worried for Frogadier and Braixen. Since Serena's birthday passed, the two Pokémon have been acting a whole lot worse. While they were in on and off behavior, there still was no theory on why they were acting like the way they were.
"Why don't we rest here for a little bit to give them some time to unwind," Ash suggested.
"That sounds like a good idea," Serena replied with a smile, "I know we already had lunch but maybe some more time to relax could do the trick."
With that the two cleaned up with Wartortle washing the dishes with his Water Gun, but he was being careful. While Ash thought that resting here would be a good idea, they were unaware of the danger that Siegfried was lurking the area.
30 minutes later
All of the Pokémon were taking naps to relax and clear their minds of the recent events. Pikachu saw the newest member of Serena's Team Eevee resting peacefully. Pikachu realized that he was no iron Pikachu, but he was glad that Eevee considered him strong. Pikachu walked on over to Eevee who was napping and stood over her smiling. She looked so adorable when she was sleeping, hell she was adorable all the time.
"Mind if I lay next to you," Pikachu asked with a warm smile.
Eevee opened her eyes to notice that Pikachu was there. When Eevee saw Pikachu, she couldn't help but blush. Pikachu was just so handsome.
"He he he, of course," Eevee answered.
Pikachu grinned that he got to lay next to her. Pikachu ran around a few times and then slowly laid his head down onto Eevee's soft white fur. When Pikachu felt his head rest on Eevee, he felt like he went to heaven as Eevee had some soft fur.
"You feel so comfy," Pikachu cooed.
"Aw, thank you," Eevee replied with a giggle.
Eevee really enjoyed Pikachu's company. She was so glad Serena won her at the Princess Day Festival, because now she can be with that strong Pikachu. These two clearly had a crush on each other just like Ash and Serena did and how Frogadier and Braixen has crushes for each other.
Speaking of the two Kalos starters, Frogadier was taking some deep breaths and looked around. It was really the first time he felt aware of where he was and what was going on. Frogadier has been on edge lately as he feels that something is greatly disturbing him. He noticed all the Pokémon resting alongside Ash and Serena where Serena was resting her head on Ash's shoulder. He also notices Pikachu cuddling with Eevee as it can recall some of his fantasies of doing that with Braixen back when he was a Froakie and she was a Fennekin.
Frogadier was starting to adjust his body a bit as he has been spending most of his time not moving. Frogadier also notices that his back is feeling a lot better after the beating from Kadabra. Right now, he still feels tense.
"My Arceus, I don't know what's been going on with me lately, but it feels like…he might be here," Frogadier said as his tone got darker.
Frogadier was the only one who knew why he was acting like the way he has been lately. Ash said that if anything was bothering him, he could talk to him…but he didn't. He just kept feeling so scared. It took a toll on him so much that he couldn't help him fight Team Rocket. The reason Frogadier was acting like that was because of one thing.
Siegfried. He feels so close.
Frogadier can always remember having nightmares about him. Even though he never met him in person, his evil presence was exposed to his egg which caused him to be so secluded to everyone except Ash. Was it possible that he was here?
Frogadier felt like a lot was running through his head and his body. As Frogadier looked around, he noticed something out in the distance. It was a lake with sparkly water. Frogadier was taking a closer look as if he could see three other Pokémon over by the lake. That water did look refreshing.
"Maybe I'll just step out and take a nice dip in the lake over there," Frogadier said to himself as he walked off but not without turning to Ash and saying, "I'll be back Ash."
Just as Frogadier was about to walk on over, Braixen was starting to get up and readjust her mind. She has been through mental hell as of late, and she doesn't even recognize the new Eevee that was with Pikachu. Before Braixen could realize what was going on, she saw Frogadier walking off. Wait, why was Frogadier leaving?
"Frogadier," Braixen uttered.
Braixen jumped up and followed Frogadier and away from the group. If only these two Pokémon knew who was here.
The Lake
Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum have all been hanging out at the lake with Elekid staying out of the water due to his electricity. It was a strange turn of events seeing the Pokémon around the area flee like that which meant more time for them.
"It's so peaceful when no one is around," Elekid said while laying back on a tree.
"Except for some Magikarp and Goldeen," Smoochum said as she had a Goldeen on her head.
Goldeen bounced on Smoochum's head a bit before it hopped back into the water. Then Smoochum noticed someone coming their way. Coming out of the trees was a blue lizard frog with a light blue belly, a dark blue back, yellow eyes, and a white bubbly scarf. This Pokémon looked tense as he looked at the lake. Elekid and Magby saw the Pokémon in front of them as well.
Frogadier looked at the water without even noticing the other Pokémon that were around. He then stepped into the water carefully and sat down on what appeared to be a shallow end and lean his head back. The water felt refreshing when Frogadier got in.
"I don't think I've seen that Pokémon before," Smoochum said in confusion.
"Yeah, I don't know what that species even is," Elekid said.
Frogadier took a deep breath as he relaxed in the lake. Maybe this was what he needed, a nice dip in some fresh water.
"Frogadier!" a voice called out.
Frogadier turned his head when he heard his name get called out. He knows that voice pretty well. It was Braixen's voice.
"Frogadier?" Magby questioned.
"Maybe that's the name of this Pokémon," Smoochum stated.
Then Braixen emerged from the bushes which got the three Pokémon startled once again. Now another Pokémon they weren't familiar with has emerged from the trees, this time it looked like a fox.
"Braixen?" Frogadier replied.
"Braixen? Is that the name of the other Pokémon?" Elekid questioned.
The three kid Pokémon gathered together and left the two Kalos Pokémon alone. Maybe it wouldn't be a great idea to intervene with them, at least not right now.
Frogadier on the other hand saw Braixen with a worried look on her face. She was the first one to know that he wondered away from the camp site.
"Frogadier what are you doing?" Braixen questioned.
"I just wanted to relax in this lake," Frogadier answered.
"No, I mean what are you doing leaving the group without saying anything?" Braixen asked with a lot of worry.
Braixen hit the nail right on the head. Frogadier walked away without giving a word to anyone, including Braixen, which can worry a lot of people and Pokémon.
"Well everybody was napping, and I was feeling tense and I saw this lake. I'd figure this would be a good idea to help me refresh," Frogadier explained.
"You could've woke Ash up and told him where you were going," Braixen stated with her arms crossed, "You would get him worried, and my Arceus you already got me worried."
Frogadier can get what Braixen is saying. He truly did scare Braixen even though it was just a small walk away. It just shows how much Braixen has cared for Frogadier all the way back when they were living with Professor Sycamore. Frogadier had no clue how scared Braixen was when Damien took him away and when he ran off after Ash's outburst in Celadon City. Frogadier is starting to feel like he and Braixen are just like their trainers, deeply caring for each other, and now he gave Braixen a huge scare.
"I'm sorry," Frogadier said hanging his head down, "Do you want me to go back?"
"How long do you plan to be here?" Braixen asked.
"Maybe another hour or whenever Ash wakes up," Frogadier answered as he looked back, "We're not far from the campsite, I can still see them."
Braixen took a look and saw their trainers and Pokémon still in site. Kind of far away, but at least they could see them.
"Do you mind if I join in?" Braixen asked.
Frogadier went from feeling down to feeling like his heart skipped a beat. Sharing a bath with Braixen had to feel so romantic. Wait, why was he feeling this? Maybe this is what love was like. Enjoying things together and always looking out for each other deeply.
"Sure, why not. I mean it's the least I can do after I gave you that scare just now," Frogadier responded giving a gesture to come on in.
"Thanks," Braixen kindly said as she stepped into the lake.
Braixen didn't mind that she was a fire-type, the water felt good and once she was in, Frogadier felt like it got a lot warmer. Was it because of the heat Braixen was letting out making the water warmer, or was it because she was sitting next to him? It was either temperature or those inside feelings.
As the two just enjoyed each other's company, the three Pokémon watching were wondering what was going on. What were those Pokémon doing and exactly where did they come from?
Back with Munchlax, Seel, and Ponyta
Ponyta was carrying Munchlax Seel through the forest and what Ponyta said was true, she was able to carry more weight than before. They were now approaching the miniature ridge where Munchlax and Seel parted ways from the three kid Pokémon after their confrontation with Shepard.
If they weren't mistaken, there was supposed to be a log that they could ascend down. Ponyta was surveying the area wondering where that log was which Munchlax and Seel on lookout.
"Right there!" Seel exclaimed pointing out the log.
Ponyta saw the log and galloped all the way over. However, Ponyta stopped in her tracks when she heard something, and Munchlax and Seel were startled as well.
"Did you guys hear that," Munchlax stuttered as he heard it as well.
The three Pokémon looked took a glance over and looked over where the sound was. It was Pokémon screaming for their lives as they were running along with gunshots. Rattatas, Pidgeys, Spearows, Oddishs, Bellsprouts, and a whole bunch of other Pokémon were screaming and crying.
As the three Pokémon took a closer look, they could see a figure walking up blasting his gun killing more Pokémon. Many Pokémon collapsed and died from the gunshots and the figure placing his foot on a dead Pokémon and shooting more Pokémon leaving them wounded. Some of the Pokémon got away while others did not.
"Fuck! Those Pokémon got away!" Siegfried yelled.
All three Pokémon looked at the figure in horror and saw that it was a violent hunter. Munchlax was looking at the overly muscular man with the machine gun. That face looked awfully familiar as if he seen him before.
Siegfried smothered the dead Pokémon and then walked on over to a Pidgeotto he wounded. Pidgeotto was laying on his stomach when he saw Siegfried approaching him.
"Hey there bird, I'm Siegfried and I love to hunt and kill Pokémon," Siegfried said in a dark tone as he looked down at Pidgeotto, "I see you like looking at my boots, here I'll give you a closer look."
Siegfried then picked up his foot and stomped on Pidgeotto's head. Pidgeotto was taking a beating from Siegfried's foot with lots of blood coming and then a stomp so powerful that it crushed Pidgeotto's skull. When Siegfried brought his foot back up, he saw Pidgeotto's head smashed with bits of his skull and brain smothered out. Siegfried glared at the dead Pidgeotto.
"You ruined my boot," Siegfried snarled.
Siegfried then picked up the dead Pokémon and punted it off like a football. The dead Pidgeotto was sent flying into a tree where it crashed on impact. Blood and feathers were spattering everywhere, and blood was splattered on the tree when the dead Pidgeotto slowly slid down.
All three Pokémon looked in horror when they saw what Siegfried did. Munchlax was able to get a close look at the sadistic man as they did look familiar.
Flashback
"So, you're the crumbum who's breaking the rocket Pokémon out," Shepard said in disgust.
Munchlax was getting out as quickly as he could while Seel kept Shepard distracted when something caught his eye. He stopped for a moment to look at the wanted posters. He knew he was supposed to escape, but Munchlax wanted to look at those posters. While he has seen the pictures of rockets and hunter, there were also pictures of notable hunters. One of the hunters was a man who was bald wearing sunglasses named Siegfried who goes around killing Pokémon for the heck of it.
"I'm guessing those people are bad too." Munchlax thought to himself.
End Flashback
While the memory of seeing those posters were faint, it was still there and now that one of those hunters were here, Munchlax started to have that memory come back quicker than a Rapidash.
"That's Siegfried," Munchlax muttered as he knew that hunter matched the one on the wanted poster.
All three Pokémon backed off so they wouldn't be in Siegfried's sight. Siegfried would kill them right on the spot. The unstable hunter walked around holding his machine gun while stepping on wounded or dead Pokémon.
"Jenny crack corn and I don't care," Siegfried sang while shooting Pokémon, "Jenny crack corn and I don't care."
The three Pokémon managed to hide behind a bush and Munchlax and Ponyta turned their heads away from what Siegfried was doing. Seel would've done the same, but someone had to keep an eye on him just in case he was coming.
"Those poor Pokémon, just what is he doing?" Ponyta questioned while crying.
"That's not a him. No human would ever do something so barbaric. I've heard of hunters killing Pokémon for fur, or catching them for profit, but this guy seems to just randomly go out and kill them," Seel explained.
After Siegfried was done, he looked at the aftermath. Pokémon's organs were stomped out, some Pokémon didn't have portions of their head, it was a total blood bath. Siegfried then let out a sigh and smiled.
"It feels good to kill Pokémon. Where I can find more," Siegfried said as he walked off.
Seel could see that the muscular man was walking away from them. Seel turned to Munchlax and Ponyta who were huddling for comfort.
"He's gone," Seel uttered.
Munchlax and Ponyta looked at each other in the eyes and then broke away from each other. The two Pokémon peeked out of the bushes and they saw the scene of the dead Pokémon. Munchlax wanted to vomit while Ponyta hysterically started to cry.
"Calm down, you don't want to draw attention to that thing," Munchlax told Ponyta.
Ponyta still had the urge to cry, but Munchlax grabbed her face gently and shook her head a little as she was able to compose herself for their safety.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't stand seeing that," Ponyta uttered.
Seel looked down in despair as the area below them looked like a total warzone. This person was truly a monster, probably even worse than Shepard.
"This person is truly evil," Seel uttered as he then came to his senses and remembered why they left the grotto, "No time to mourn, we have to find those three Pokémon."
Munchlax heard Seel out as he recalled why he was out here. They had to find Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum and bring them back to the grotto. With that, they got back onto Ponyta and descended down the log.
As Ponyta came down, she began to walk by the Pokémon carnage. Ponyta was shaken up at how one person could do something like that. They were just innocent creatures living their lives. Snorlax and Kadabra were right, there was evil here.
The Lake
With Frogadier and Braixen relaxing in the lake, Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum were all watching the two Pokémon curiosity. Where did they come from, and why have they never seen them before? Did they belong to trainers or did their home get destroyed and they were brought over here?
"Should we talk to them?" Magby questioned.
"I don't know, what if they're not friendly," Smoochum stuttered.
"Hey, just because we never seen them before doesn't mean they're bad," Elekid stated, "Heck you never know unless you talk to them."
Elekid made a point, as they were looking at the two Kalos starters, it doesn't seem they are hesitant to attack. If anything, it seems these two Pokémon were embracing each other in the lake water. Elekid looked at the other Pokémon and wondered if they were going to do anything. It appears they weren't going to try anything.
With that, Elekid walked on over to the two Pokémon. The Electric Pokémon stood there with his hands on his hips looking at the two Pokémon. It wasn't long before Braixen opened her eyes and saw Elekid standing there. Was he eavesdropping on them?
"Can I help you?" Braixen questioned.
"Yeah, I just wanted to see if you two were friendly or not," said Elekid.
Braixen gave a confused look towards the Elekid. Well then again this Pokémon hasn't met them before. Not to mention her species can't be found in Kanto.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you," Braixen said turning to Frogadier, "Neither will he."
Frogadier was adjusting his eyes as he heard Braixen talking. The Bubble Frog Pokémon saw that there was an Elekid standing right by their side. So, this must be who Frogadier was talking to.
"Hello there," Frogadier said in an awkward tone.
"Don't worry Frogadier, this Elekid won't hurt us," Braixen said reassuring Frogadier.
Frogadier was still feeling a little caught off guard with this Pokémon right in front of him. Then Magby and Smoochum were running their way towards Elekid.
"Sorry about that it's just that, we've never seen you before," Smoochum told the two Pokémon.
Frogadier and Braixen were looking at each other. They have to admit these Pokémon look kind of cute. It was nice to have some company over.
"It's okay, you should be surprised to see us here. I mean we're not even from this region. We actually are Pokémon under the care of Pokémon trainers," Braixen stated.
"Pokémon trainers?" Elekid questioned.
"Yeah, they're humans who we actually join as their companions," Frogadier answered.
Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum stood there confused on what they were talking about. These three don't seem to have ever heard about a Pokémon trainer in their life.
"I guess you never have met one, have you?" Frogadier asked.
"No, we haven't," Elekid answered shaking his head.
"Well a Pokémon trainer is a human you join and become friends with. And you become friends with them, we work together to become stronger," Frogadier explained trying his best to describe a Pokémon trainer.
The three Pokémon were thinking about what Frogadier was saying. Did they really think that this so-called Pokémon trainer would make them strong? They were raised by their parents in these areas since they were born, and they never heard of a Pokémon trainer.
"Don't have a clue," Smoochum said raising her hands.
"Anyway, we just want to know what you're doing here at our lake," said Elekid.
"Well things have felt a little tense lately," Frogadier said.
"Very intense you mean," Braixen told Frogadier.
"Okay very intense, and I figured I step away and try to relax," Frogadier answered.
"Intense, like what?" Elekid questioned.
Frogadier took the time to go through his mind. He can recall something that was bothering him and Braixen. It still bothers them, but right now they're feeling fine.
"It's hard to explain," Frogadier uttered.
Then all of a sudden, Frogadier and Braixen tensed up again and began shaking. The three Pokémon were looking at the two Kalos starters and were wondering what was going on. Then they began to take shallow breaths.
"Is something wrong with them?" Magby asked in panic.
"Quick you two, pull them out of the water!" Elekid yelled.
Back with Ash and Serena
As Ash and Serena and the rest of the Pokémon were napping, Rotom Dex was on lookout. It didn't want its friends to be ambushed by something because they were asleep.
Rotom Dex peeked over at Pikachu who was cuddling with Eevee. Rotom Dex thought it was so cute seeing those two together. Then all of a sudden, Rotom Dex started to hear sounds. The floating Pokedex hovered in the air to see where it was coming from. It was to see with the trees, but Rotom Dex used its zoom feature to see that a jeep was coming their way.
"A jeep in the forest? Must be going camping," Rotom Dex stated.
Inside the jeep was an older man with a light brown mountaineer hat, a beige button up shirt, black pants, and shiny black shoes. He was driving the jeep as he was on patrol to get everyone out of the way. This was the head ranger Shepard.
"This is Shepard reporting to all units, if you see Siegfried do not hesitate to shoot him," Shepard said on the intercom.
Shepard and the other rangers were on patrol to make sure they get all Pokémon or any particular travelers to safety. Then Shepard noticed something that he was coming close too, it looked like a group of trainers. The ranger honked his horn.
Everybody got startled as they woke up. Pikachu had a pouty face as something interrupted his moment with Eevee.
"Pika," Pikachu groggily said.
"What was that?" Serena asked.
"Sounded like a car horn," Ash replied.
"It is a car horn, there's a jeep coming this way," Rotom Dex stated frantically.
Well this was a surprise for the group. They weren't sure who was going to be in that jeep, but they should know to be ready for whatever comes their way. As they look around, Serena has noticed some absences within the group. Frogadier and Braixen were not around. Serena started to get extremely worried.
"Ash, Braixen and Frogadier are not here," Serena stuttered.
"What!" Ash exclaimed as he noticed the absence of the two Pokémon.
Ash couldn't believe it, Frogadier and Braixen actually moved for once. While he could somewhat be happy that he isn't standing there like someone about to be run over, he was frightened to know that his Frogadier went missing.
The jeep approached Ash and Serena and parked right in front of them. Shepard has a hesitant look on his face as he had to do his job to get everyone to safety.
"Listen up, return your Pokémon, pack your things, and get in the jeep," Shepard ordered, "I'm taking you to a nearby Pokémon Center for your own safety."
"Safety?" Serena questioned.
"Yes, apparently a hunter named Siegfried is on this property right now! All because someone forgot to lock the door at the mental hospital!" Shepard yelled, "If you're wondering who he is, he goes around the world killing Pokémon for no reason."
The young Pallet Town couple's eyes widened when they heard what Shepard just told them. Siegfried, the evil hunter who killed their Pokémon's families before they were born, is in Kanto right now. And he is still killing Pokémon after all of those years.
This finally brought light to the situation with Frogadier and Braixen. They've must've felt like he was close by and now here he was.
"Did you say Siegfried," Ash uttered.
"Yes, I did, and it's my job to get you out of here right now! We already got a beach full of dead Krabby and I just got word that an area in the forest is already covered with dead Pokémon!" Shepard argued.
Ash and Serena might realize that Shepard was on to something. If Siegfried was here, then should know that they had to try and stop him. However, it was too soon to try and take on the sadistic hunter, especially just learning he was here right now. It would be best to take cover and come up with a plan of action.
Ash and Serena didn't say anything as they returned all of their Pokémon and gathered their belongings. There was still one thing that greatly troubled them, Frogadier and Braixen. They were nowhere to be found, and the hunter who traumatized them before they hatched was here right now.
"Frogadier!" Ash cried in panic.
"Braixen!" Serena cried in panic as well.
Ash and Serena couldn't believe it, Frogadier and Braixen were gone with Siegfried on the loose. Shepard was getting impatient.
"What are you doing? Get in the jeep so you can go to the Pokémon Center," Shepard told them.
"But were missing two Pokémon," Ash said with a bit of a cracked voice.
"Listen, we are required to anyone out of danger right now. Get in," Shepard argued.
Ash and Serena could see that Shepard was on the edge right now and maybe they shouldn't make things worse. With that, Ash, Serena, and Pikachu hopped into the jeep with Rotom Dex floating by and landing on Ash's lap.
"Can you at least look around for a Braixen and a Frogadier, we're not leaving without them!" Serena cried as she was starting to get some tears.
"We don't have time, they're likely dead," Shepard told them as he put the jeep in drive.
Shepard turned the jeep around and sped off. Ash and Serena were looking back as they were being taken off. This man is just assuming that their Pokémon are dead, and they're being forced to leave them behind. Serena began to cry.
"No, Braixen can't be dead," Serena said as she was crying.
"Yes it is, now stop crying before Siegfried finds us and kills us!" Shepard yelled.
Ash was on the verge of getting angry with how he was handling this. He was just taking them to the Pokémon without them even having a second look to know where Frogadier and Braixen were. More importantly, it seemed as they were forced to abandon their Pokémon. He wasn't going to argue as this man did carry a high authority.
The one thing that Ash couldn't stand seeing right now was Serena crying. Her face buried onto Ash's chest as she could muffle the cries. He knew Serena was hurt, and deep down, he was hurt too.
The Lake
After pulling Frogadier and Braixen out of the water, the three Pokémon were trying to figure out what to do. The two Kalos starters seem as if they were having a major panic attack. They tried talking to them, but the two continue to hyper-ventilate. Then without warning, Elekid fired off a Thundershock with shocked the two Pokémon causing them to be knocked out. Despite having no battle skills, it was nice that Elekid knew one move that could defend him.
Magby then ran over to Braixen while Smoochum ran over to Frogadier. They tried doing what they can to wake them up such as shaking them or slapping them around. Then there was one other option they could try, CPR. They may be kids, but they knew mouth to mouth.
Magby placed his mouth over Braixen's while Smoochum's placed her mouth over Frogadier. They started the breath to breath process, then Braixen's eyes began to open as she regained consciousness.
"What happened?" Braixen asked feeling groggy.
"You and that Pokémon were having a panic attack," Magby answered.
Braixen looked around and she could remember what happened. Why was she acting like that? Then her eyes shifted only to find Smoochum giving CPR to Frogadier. Braixen's eyes narrowed as she saw what Smoochum was doing. Why did she get to do that to Frogadier? Braixen can imagine doing that with Frogadier, but it made her jealous when another Pokémon did it. Maybe this was love after all.
Frogadier was starting to regain consciousness as well as his eyes were starting to open. He got back up and looked around to see Braixen sitting up as well.
"Are you okay?" Smoochum asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine right now," Frogadier answered as he took a sigh, "Sorry about that it's just, something is bothering me, and I can tell it's bothering Braixen as well."
Frogadier had no idea what just happened right there. Better yet, why has he been acting like that and not telling Ash about it. He clearly told him if anything was bothering him that he could talk to him.
Frogadier could see that Braixen was looking at Smoochum with a glazed look. Frogadier was wondering if she did something. He probably wasn't going to think about it right now.
"You guys doing okay?" Elekid asked.
Frogadier and Braixen looked at each other and then looked down on the ground.
"Honestly, we don't know," Braixen answered.
"Maybe we should head back," Frogadier said looking at Braixen, "I already left without saying something to Ash, and I don't want to worry him too much."
"I agree with you," Braixen stated, "Who knows how much Ash and Serena could be worrying when they find out we're gone."
Frogadier looked at the bush area where he emerged from. It's probably time to head back to camp. The two Pokémon took a deep breath and made their way back towards camp. While the two Pokémon were leaving, Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum all watched with curiosity.
"Should we follow them?" Magby asked.
"And who is Ash and Serena?" Smoochum questioned.
"Maybe they're those things called trainers," Elekid answered as he watched them, "Let's follow them."
With that, Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum made pace and followed Frogadier and Braixen.
1 minute later
"Maybe it's time I have a talk with Ash," Frogadier said, "It almost feels like what I've been feeling those years before joining Ash."
"Same here," Braixen replied, "I just feel like there is something out there that feels terrifying like that hunter."
Frogadier and Braixen were walking through the woods to return to camp. Maybe time with Ash and Serena could help them as it should be best to open up to them.
Once the two Kalos starters arrive, their concerned faces are replaced with horror and hurt. Ash, Serena, Pikachu, Rotom Dex, and all of the other Pokémon were not there. It also looked like they packed up camp as none of their things were there either.
"Where are they?" Braixen questioned as her voice choked up.
The two Pokémon were now starting to get frantic. They look around and see that there is no trace of their trainers or their Pokémon. Then Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum all arrive at the site and they saw the two Pokémon shaking.
"Are they having another panic attack?" Smoochum questioned.
"I don't know," Magby answered.
Frogadier and Braixen couldn't believe it, they weren't here. This was reminding Frogadier of those nightmares he has when Ash wasn't around, and Siegfried came and bead him to death. Frogadier and Braixen felt like they wanted to cry as they embraced each other.
"I can't believe it, they're gone," Frogadier said shaking.
The two Pokémon felt like they were hurt as they embraced each other. Ash and Serena have just abandoned them.
The three kid Pokémon looked on as the two Pokémon were gathered together. Were they freaking out or were they sad? Either way, they were going to check in on them. Elekid walked over and tapped Frogadier on the back. The Bubble Frog Pokémon turned his head as he was breathing and crying.
"Our trainers are gone," Frogadier said.
"Maybe they went looking for you," Elekid said.
Frogadier heard what Elekid said, but before he could process his thoughts, someone else emerged from the bushes. Frogadier and Braixen regained their composure as three Pokémon emerge. The three Pokémon gave a huge sigh of relief as they found the three kid Pokémon.
"Thank Arceus we found you," Seel said with some relief in his voice.
It was Seel and Munchlax riding on Ponyta. Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum were a bit startled to see them again. The last time they saw Munchlax and Seel was when they were aiding them with their escape from Shepard. However, the three Pokémon were not familiar with Frogadier and Braixen.
"So, who are these Pokémon?" Seel asked.
Frogadier and Braixen looked over at Munchlax, Ponyta, and the hat wearing Seel. Did those Pokémon want to know who they were?
"Oh, I take it you've never met me," Frogadier said as he took a deep breath to try and forget about Ash's sudden disappearance, "My name is Frogadier and I'm a Pokémon that is native to the Kalos Region."
"And I'm Braixen and I'm also a Pokémon native to the Kalos Region," Braixen said as she introduced herself.
"The only reason we are here in Kanto is because of our trainers," Frogadier confirmed.
There he went with trainers again. While Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum weren't familiar with trainers, Munchlax and Seel were.
"My trainer's name is Ash Ketchum, and Braixen's trainer's name is Serena Gabena," Frogadier told them.
Munchlax's eyes widened when he heard that last name. Snorlax told him tales about his grandfather being friends with a man named Red Ketchum, how he helped his grandfather meet his grandmother, how they mated and welcomed his father, and how Red and his grandparents let his dad go live a life of his own.
"Ash Ketchum, I wonder if he's connected to Red Ketchum," Munchlax thought.
"Enough of this talk, our trainers have deserted us. We just went for a dip in the lake and they're gone," Braixen said with hurt in her voice.
Munchlax then felt shocked. No way, if this Ash Ketchum was connected to Red, there would be no way he would leave them behind like that. Wait, this wasn't the time to talk about trainers.
"Listen, we'll talk later. Right now, we need to scram!" Munchlax cried.
"Scram?" Elekid questioned.
"Yes, there's a crazy guy here terrorizing our homes and killing Pokémon," Ponyta cried, "I couldn't bear to look at what he was doing."
Frogadier and Braixen heard what Ponyta said. Crazy guy terrorizing the place, killing Pokémon, wait it can't be.
"His name is Siegfried," Seel uttered.
.
.
.
Shock and fear is what Frogadier and Braixen felt. The disturbance they felt these last couple of days, their panic attacks, of course…Siegfried was here.
Elsewhere in the forest
A devastating scene took place as there were dead Sandshrew all around. This was done by Siegfried who has killed what happened to be children of two Sandslash. He then walked up to the beaten Sandslash and brought out a chainsaw.
Up in the trees a female Pidgeot with her Pidgey were watching as Siegfried was going to do something. He was going to kill Sandslash. Pidgeot's eyes widened and watered as she turned away and covered her babies within her feathers.
The chainsaw touched Sandslash and started cutting him up. Blood was splattering everywhere, and Siegfried ended up grinning.
After he was done killing that Sandslash, Siegfried took out a club and whacked the other Sandslash to death. Blood came out of Sandslash's head and the two Pokémon were now dead.
"That was good, killing Pokémon always feels good," Siegfried said as he walked back to his jeep.
Siegfried then took off in his jeep as he ran over the remains of the Pokémon and sped off. It always seemed to be a mystery of why Siegfried turned out so evil. Surprisingly, no one ever wonders what caused him to be so warped. Not even the evil hunter Siegfried himself thinks about it. In fact, he's so caught up in killing Pokémon, he may have forgotten what gotten him to do this in the first.
Pidgeot looked over to see if Siegfried was gone, and he was.
"Alright kids, he's gone," Pidgeot said looking down.
All of the Pidgey were scared for their life. The kids were hiding in the trees as their father was trying to create a diversion against Siegfried. The mother Pidgeot took the kids as they could get away, however their father didn't make it as Siegfried was able to throw a ninja star at him which caused him to crash to the ground and then stomp on his throat which broke his neck and killed him. These Pidgey just lost their father.
"Mommy is daddy going to come back?" one of her children asked.
Pidgeot looked down as she was the only one who looked back and saw what happened to her mate. She knew that her mate didn't make it. Then again…she probably would've never met her mate if it weren't for a kind man.
She was separated from her parents when she was a baby Pidgey herself, but a man ended up finding her and went all out in hopes of finding her parents. Ultimately, the man would reunite her with her parents, but the reunion was ruined when another man with a shotgun came in and yelled at him about being somewhere he wasn't supposed to be. What's worse, that other man attempted to kill her parents because he thought they were going to attack, but the kind man was just trying to attract her parents. After she joined her parents, they ended up flying away from the scene. Truth was that she and her parents never had the chance to thank him for helping her reuniting the family.
Her parents ended up raising her with loving care and never left her out of her sight, until she evolved into Pidgeotto, and then again into Pidgeot. She met another Pidgeot and they fell in love and started a family together.
Unfortunately, that loving family has been destroyed by Siegfried. Now all that's left was Pidgeot and her four children. As tears came into Pidgeot's eyes, she realized that she was all alone with her kids.
"I don't think daddy is coming back," Pidgeot uttered with tears coming from her eyes.
Pidgeot knew right now that they needed to get out of here. It wasn't safe with this psychopath roaming around and now there was nothing but painful memories with the death of their father. Pidgeot looked up in the sky and was facing west.
"Come on kids," Pidgeot told her kids.
"Where are we going?" One of the Pidgey asked.
"To find a new home," Pidgeot said darkly.
With that, Pidgeot took to the skies and the four Pidgey flew behind her remaining close. She had no idea where she was going. Should she get help, or should she just do what's best for her kids? One thing was for certain, there was no way she was coming back here.
And that wraps up the first chapter of the Siegfried Arc. As I told you, there were going to be disturbing scenes regarding Siegfried's actions. Let me know what you think, because I was pretty nervous when I published this chapter.
Frogadier and Braixen now know that Siegfried is here and have joined Munchlax and the rest of the Pokémon. Where are they going to go from here? Do they realize that Ash and Serena were taken away by Shepard?
The next chapter will feature Frogadier and Braixen joining the Pokémon as they head for the grotto. Stay tuned as the Siegfried Arc continues.
Chapter 46: Shattered Hearts
