Steve had no idea if he was making a mistake in not telling Rosalie his plans. His fiancée had spent the past few days mainly with Wanda, the two woman roaming around, discovering what the city had to offer. They had been n awe of the vibranium usage in the country after Shuri had shown them around her lab, informing them of how things were run. They had gone shopping, Shuri being kind enough to show them around. Rosalie and Wanda then went on walks, roaming the fields and the waterfalls.

While Wanda distracted Rosalie, Steve had been busy putting things in place. He was arranging their wedding on his own. He wanted to surprise Rosalie. He wanted her to be happy, but he wondered if this was what she wanted. Would she want to get married here or did she want to risk waiting until they returned home? Steve didn't know, but he suspected this would make her happy.

"How is planning going?" Wanda asked Steve the night before the surprise wedding.

"Well," Steve said, placing his knife and fork down onto his plate. He had just finished eating dinner. Rosalie had returned to their room early. She had told him that she was feeling tired, kissing him chastely on the lips before leaving the dining room.

Wanda had struck then, wanting to know how Steve was getting on with wedding planning, intrigue taking hold of her. She had gone to sit down next to Steve in Rosalie's empty chair. She placed a hand to her forehead to block out the sun as it slowly set, rays of it entering the dining room.

"Have you organised everything?" Wanda asked him.

"I have the venue set up," Steve said, "then again, not that it took too long. I asked T'Challa if we could borrow the second dining room behind the waterfall. He's been really helpful…helped me organise a cake…a suit…Shuri has managed to do something with technology to have holograms of her parents. It sounded very clever. I didn't entirely understand it."

"And her dress?" Wanda asked him. "I know Rosalie well enough to know that when she was planning your wedding, she had a dress picked out."

Steve's lips quirked and he nodded. "I had her parents send me a photo of the one she had circled in the wedding magazine," Steve said. "T'Challa said that his mother knew someone who could make it in time for the wedding. I stole one of Rosalie's dresses from her wardrobe so that they had her measurements considering you two went shopping."

Wanda smirked. "Sneaky," she commented to him.

"I like to think so," he responded. "So I think that I have everything planned out. I just need you to get her into the dining room in her wedding dress."

Wanda scoffed. "Do you not think that she will be suspicious?"

"I suspect she might, but I hope that it will be too late by then," Steve responded to her. "I have flowers being arranged to be delivered tomorrow afternoon to your room. I need you to keep Rosalie on side, Wanda. Just stick by her tomorrow."

"I will do what I can," Wanda said, "but your fiancée has a mind of her own."

"Don't I know it," Steve scoffed. "By tomorrow, I am hoping that we will be married and that one good thing can happen for us. I just want one good thing, Wanda."

"Hey," she said, patting his arm. "You'll be married. She'll be surprised, but she'll love what you have done. It is thoughtful, Steve. It is really thoughtful."

"Thank you," Steve said. "I should head on back to our room and see how she is. She was on about an early night watching Netflix. Do you have any plans for this evening, Wanda?"

Wanda bit down on her lip and shrugged. "I…well…I am talking to Vision," she admitted and Steve looked surprised. She continued talking, voice rushed as she thought about Vision. "It is on a secure line that we both have so no one knows, but I miss him. I do not want to lose him and I am hoping that, when things quieten down, maybe I can see him. We both want to meet."

"You two got close, huh?" Steve asked and she smiled a genuine heartfelt smile while nodding.

"Yes," she admitted. "He has been kind to me, Steve. I care for him deeply."

"Well good for you," Steve said. "I am serious, Wanda. If you can find someone to who makes you happy then don't let go of them."

"I don't intend to," Wanda said. "You should get going to Rosalie. She looked like she was ready to fall asleep at dinner so I doubt you will watch much this evening."

Steve chuckled and moved to his feet. "I'm going to guess you're right on that one," he nodded and began to leave the dining room, bidding goodnight to Sam, Bucky and Natasha as he left.

He walked down the hallways until he came to their bedroom. Opening the door, he closed it behind him and locked it. Rosalie was already in bed, the TV on the wall playing a news channel. She looked over to him and smiled as Steve grabbed hold of his sweats and top from the bottom of the bed.

"You watching anything interesting?" Steve asked from her, heading into the bathroom but leaving the door open to change.

"Not really," Rosalie informed him. "I was waiting for you to get back before I put anything on. Was everyone okay after dinner?"

"Fine," Steve nodded.

He tossed his clothes into the laundry basket in the bedroom. The quarter in which they were staying in had its own kitchenette and utility room. Steve would do the washing when he next had chance. He splashed his face with cold water before plodding back out to the bedroom. He pulled the covers back from his side of the bed and climbed in. Out of habit, he lifted his arm up and let Rosalie burrow against his side, his arm going over her shoulder. She pressed a few buttons on the remote and flicked through box sets they had started watching.

"What you feeling like watching?" she wondered. "Do you want something funny or heavy?"

"Something light," Steve said.

"Parks and Rec it is," she said and clicked on the latest episode.

She tossed the remote off to the side and relaxed even more against him. Steve rested his cheek on the top of her head as he watched the show. She occasionally chuckled, but after an hour she became quiet. Looking down, Steve saw that she had fallen asleep. He smiled and reached for the remote. Turning the TV off, he moved gently, placing the remote on his bedside table before moving. He managed to rest on his side, Rosalie turning away from him and pulling the covers up to her chin. Steve stuffed a hand underneath her pillow and closed his eyes.

He was about to try and sleep when he felt her reach for his arm. She pulled it over her waist, lacing her hand into his and Steve felt the warmth of her back against his front.

"Goodnight," she muttered, clearly still half asleep.

"Goodnight, Rose," he whispered, kissing her on the cheek before letting himself rest.

….

Steve was gone when Rosalie woke the following morning. She rolled onto her side and looked to his side of the bed, but it was empty. There was a note on the bedside table and Rosalie blinked, trying to clear her vision. She moved over the bed and reached for the note. Steve had said that he was going to be gone for a while with urgent work, but he had left her an orange juice and a croissant on the table.

Sitting up, Rosalie stretched her arms above her head before she heard a knock on the door. Moving from bed, she walked over to it and pulled it open. Wanda was stood there holding a bag in her fingertips.

"Hey," Rosalie greeted her, sleep still in her eyes and Wanda chuckled.

"You just woken up?" she asked her.

"You know me, I love sleep," Rosalie said and stepped back, allowing Wanda into the bedroom. Wanda walked in and placed the large bag down on the chair by the window. "What's going on anyway?"

"Nothing," Wanda lied. "I was out shopping this morning again because I realised that I had forgotten to buy tights, but then I stopped by this shop and I saw something really weird."

"What's that?" Rosalie wondered, sitting on the edge of the bed and picking up the croissant. She tore a bit off and popped it into her mouth.

Wanda moved into the bag and pulled something out. It was in a grey cloth bag. Wanda hung it up on the wardrobe and began unzipping it. Rosalie sipped on her orange juice and then lowered the glass from her mouth when she saw what she was revealing. Placing the glass down, Rosalie stumbled from the bed.

"Is that…" she trailed off.

"It is exactly the same as the dress you circled in that bridal magazine," Wanda said, voice confident as she turned to look to Rosalie. "I thought the exact same thing and I just…well…I had to get it, Rose. You loved that dress and you never got to try it on. I had to buy it just to see."

"I…I don't know what to say," Rosalie said, moving towards the dress.

It was a long dress with long lace sleeves. The detailing in the skirt was intricate, soft floral lace patterns covering it all the way up to the mesh netting that came to her neck. She ran a hand down it, feeling the fabric and looking over the dress. There was a veil above it and Rosalie smiled.

"Wanda, you didn't have to do this," she said and looked to the young woman who wore a soft blue dress that came down to her knees, not her usual attire. "It must have cost a fortune. Let me pay you back."

"No need," Wanda said, holding her hands up.

"There is," Rosalie replied. "It is too much, Wanda, and I have no idea when I will get to wear it."

"Well, it is here for a rainy day," Wanda said. "But you should try it on."

"Do you think so?"

"Of course," Wanda said. "Go and change."

Rosalie took the dress into the large bathroom as Wanda pulled her phone out from her pocket in her dress. She text Steve to tell him that it was on. She had received his flower delivery and had hidden the flowers outside the dining room for when they arrived. The ceremony was going to be small, with only Bucky, Sam, Wanda, Natasha, T'Challa and Shuri being there, alongside Rosalie's parents in hologram form.

It took a while before Rosalie exited the bathroom. Her hair was astray and she had just brushed her teeth before putting the dress on. She didn't look like a bridge just yet with her dress unbuttoned. Turning around, Rosalie looked over her shoulder to the back of the dress.

"Do you think you could button the dress up?" she asked Wanda.

"Of course," Wanda said, stepping forwards and buttoning it up her back.

Rosalie looked into the mirror, pulling at the sleeves before smoothing the skirt's material. "It fits perfectly," Rosalie marvelled. "How is that possible?"

"Pure luck," Wanda continued to lie to her. "Come on, try the veil on."

"I need to do something with my hair or it will look terrible," Rosalie said. "We could do the veil another day?"

Rolling her eyes, Wanda placed her hands on Rosalie's shoulders and guided her to the dressing table, forcing her to sit down. "Rosalie, we have so much time that is spare that we are doing this now to kill some of it," Wanda said. "Besides, I need to know how it looks."

"Alright, alright," Rosalie relented and Wanda went to pick the brush up.

The two of them spent about an hour deciding which hairstyle looked best before settling on having it pinned to the back of her head, the veil coming down to the small of her back. Standing up, Wanda checked the time before realising that her phone would ring in another minute. She waited patiently before she saw that Steve was calling her.

"Hi, Steve," she said into the phone and Rosalie looked to her as Wanda's face fell. "Okay, okay, calm down…yeah I'm with her…okay…we will be there in a minute."

"What is it?" Rosalie asked.

"It's an emergency," Wanda said. "Steve said he needs you now."

"Just let me change-"

"-No time for that," Wanda interrupted her, grabbing her by the hand. "We have to go."

"But I am in a wedding dress!" Rosalie exclaimed as Wanda led her out of the bedroom.

"It's an emergency!" Wanda snapped.

Rosalie rolled her eyes and tried to keep up with Wanda. She had just had time to slip on the white heels that went with the dress before the phone call. Wanda walked at a slower pace, accommodating Rosalie in the long and slightly restricting dress. Rosalie kept asking what Steve had said, but Wanda was vague. It was only when they came to the entrance of the dining room did Rosalie see Steve stood outside of it.

Looking to him, she sighed in relief that he looked okay. But then her eyes went around him. Peering into the room, she saw chairs were occupied and facing the large, glass window overlooking the waterfall. Frowning, she looked back to Steve and noted that he was wearing a dark blue suit, a white shirt contrasting with a patterned blue tie. Her brows knitted together and Steve rocked on his heels.

Wanda let go of her hand and looked under the sideboard in the corner for the flowers she had hidden. Looking to Steve as he caught his breath, Rosalie moved over to him. Looking her up and down, Steve did his best to compose his thoughts.

"Wow," he whispered. "You look stunning, Rosalie."

"Thanks," Rosalie said, looking down to her dress for a moment. "What is going on, Steve?"

"I…well…I had this idea about a week ago," Steve said, "that I didn't want to wait to get married. We both have talked about it and tried to plan it for so long, but it had never happened and I was tired of waiting to make you my wife."

"I don't understand," Rosalie admitted. "You…you planned a wedding…here?"

"I know it isn't the hotel we booked," Steve said. "I know that it isn't what we wanted and there are people we would have loved to be here who can't be here, but I wanted to marry you, Rose, and I have spent the past week doing everything possible to make that happen, so here we are. I just need you to agree…to walk down that aisle and marry me."

Rosalie's lips quirked upwards and she smiled widely. "I think I can do that," she said and reached for his cheek, stroking her thumb along his cheekbones. "You planned all of this…you did this for us."

"I did what I could," Steve said, trying to be modest and Rosalie reached up and kissed him chastely. "I'll give you a moment," he said when she pulled back. "Don't take too long though."

"I won't," she said and Steve left her, moving back down the aisle and he stood at the front and spoke to the minister who was dressed in colourful robes. Bucky was next to him, also dressed in a similar suit, hand on Steve's shoulder.

"Here," Wanda said, handing Rosalie a bouquet of yellow and pink flowers. Holding onto them, Rosalie smiled wryly to Wanda.

"I assume you didn't buy this dress this morning?" she asked her.

Wanda chuckled. "What gave it away?" Wanda wondered sarcastically and Rosalie sniffed the flowers. "I should go and sit down. I will tell them that you are ready if you are?"

"Wait," Rosalie urged from her, reaching for her arm. "Do you...well…my dad isn't here to walk me down the aisle and you're the closest thing I have to a best friend. Will you walk with me…as my bridesmaid?"

Wanda's eyes widened. She seemed surprised. It took a moment before she nodded in agreement with her. Rosalie smiled and moved to wrap her arms around her, embracing her tightly.

"I would love to," Wanda confirmed.

Pulling back, she offered Rosalie her arm. Taking hold of it, Rosalie looked Wanda in the eye and nodded, letting out a sigh. She was going to do this. She was really going to marry Steve. Walking down the aisle, the soft hum of the wedding march started up. Rosalie looked at the faces that had turned to watch her. She saw Nat and Sam sat together. T'Challa was on the other side of the aisle with his sister, but then Rosalie saw two familiar figures on chairs at the front. They were flickering slightly and Steve nodded once to her as she placed a hand to her mouth, tears now falling down her cheeks.

"Mom…dad…" she whispered and they smiled to her, their holograms clear as day. Standing at the front of the aisle, Rosalie looked to them as Wanda kept her arm inside of her grip.

"Darling, you look beautiful," Jennifer said, hands covering her mouth. She wore a soft cream dress, clearly having made an effort despite not being there in person. Her father wore a grey suit and had a tear in his eye.

"You look lovely," he managed to say without his voice breaking.

"I miss you both so much," Rosalie said and Steve watched her as she tried to hold back her tears.

"We miss you too," Jennifer said, "but we are just happy that we get to see this…to see you marry Steve."

"Me too," Rosalie agreed.

She gave them both another smile before turning to look to Steve. She walked to the front of the aisle and offered Bucky a small glance before handing Wanda her flowers. Steve held his hands out towards her and she took hold of them, squeezing them tightly in her grasp as she stood opposite him.

"So what do you say?" Steve whispered down to her. "Wanna get married?"

"More than anything," Rosalie confirmed.
