Life: The Other Side of the Fence Meets Sibling Rivalry and The Runaways:
Chapter 50: A Night Out To Celebrate!
As afternoon was upon her, Aqua was settled on the couch as she stared at the book in her lap. Things were quiet as she was alone in her apartment. Suddenly, she heard a loud knock on the apartment door. She lifted her head from her book as she looked curious. When she took a second to think, two people came to mind. She placed her book aside on the table and headed toward the door. Once she opened it, she was met by two smiling faces. "Hi!" the girls greeted her.
A gentle smile came on Aqua's face. "Hi Kairi! Xion!" Aqua stepped aside as the girls brought their books into her apartment. Afterwards, she closed the door behind them. "Sit anywhere you like. There's snacks on the counter if you want some."
After they got settled, Aqua sat against the couch as Xion sat in the recliner and Kairi sat on the floor. Kairi placed her books on the table and glanced between the two. "It's nice to be able to visit each other like this."
Aqua nodded. "It's definitely convenient. Whenever we need help, we're not that far away." Kairi and Xion nodded. Aqua sat up as she smiled. "So? How are you guys doing with school?"
Xion sighed. "It's a little hard."
Kairi grinned as she pointed up her index finger. "But at least we have some freedom from home. We don't have our parents telling us who and who not to see."
Aqua sighed with her eyes closed. "I know how that is… So far, no one but you guys know that Vanitas and I are living together." For now, it brought her relief, but she was still waiting for the other shoe to drop. Someday, she knew her parents would find out and it would be another thing for them to deal with…
Kairi arched her eyebrow curious. "I take it your parents haven't been by yet?"
Aqua shook her head. "Not yet, but when they do eventually visit, hopefully we'll be ready."
Kairi smirked back toward her. "How are things between you and Vanitas anyway? Is he being on his best behavior?"
Aqua leaned her elbow against the arm of the couch as she placed her head on top of her hand. "Things have actually been a lot better since we've moved off of the island. We can live how we want to now."
Kairi looked over toward Xion. "It's the same way with us." Xion nodded in agreement.
A giggle escaped Aqua's lips. "It's must be nice living with your fiancées."
Kairi grinned as Xion looked uneasy. "Just…don't mention it to your parents…I'm sure they would tell ours," Kairi joked.
Aqua nodded. "My lips are sealed."
Kairi giggled a little. "You gave us the idea."
"I know." It was understandable. After all, Vanitas and her were the first ones living together. Then, she smiled as a thought came to mind. "Wow…! I can't believe that we're all engaged!"
Kairi could help but smile at how ironic their situation was. "And somehow we ended up with brothers from the same family."
Xion looked a little surprised. "What are the odds…?"
Then, another thought came to Aqua's mind. She gave them a curious look. "Hmm…Have the boys spent any time together since they've been here?"
Kairi glanced toward Xion. "Sora and Roxas visit each other most of the time, but they haven't mention talking to Vanitas."
Aqua placed her fingers against her chin. "For Vanitas, it's usually class, work, then home. He doesn't spend much time with anyone else besides me." Disappointed, her eyes traveled toward the side. "And he and Ventus aren't really talking to each other either…" Then, her eyes widened as she placed her fist in her palm. "I have an idea!" Xion and Kairi became curious. Aqua looked between the two of them. "It's been a while since we've seen any of our other friends, so why don't we have a party?! The boys could spend some time together and so could we!"
Kairi looked surprised. "Oh! Sort of like a bachelor/bachelorette party?"
Aqua nodded as she smiled. "Exactly."
Xion looked over curious toward them. "Think the guys will go for that?"
Aqua sat confident in her idea. "I'm sure there's a way we can get them together. Just mention it to them and then we can set up a time." The girls nodded in agreement.
Later, the front door unlocked and Vanitas stepped through, tired, as he held a tall, brown bag in his arm. First, he spotted Aqua on the couch with a book on her lap. Their eyes met as she smiled toward him. "Hey!"
"Hey…" he replied. "I picked up everything you wanted…" When Vanitas turned his head, he saw the smiling faces of Kairi and Xion. He let out a dull sigh as he walked pass. "I didn't know you had my loser brothers' girlfriends over." He went into the kitchen and placed the bag on the counter.
Kairi twisted her body over toward him as she leaned on the couch and frowned. "You know when you say that, you're also calling us losers by association."
Aqua frowned toward Vanitas. "Be nice…"
"Yeah. You should be nicer to your brothers too," Kairi scolded.
Vanitas gave them a dull stare. "If I start being nice to them, then they'll stop fearing me."
Aqua sighed with her eyes closed as she placed her hand to her face. Kairi looked upset toward him. "Is it so hard to be nice to them?"
Vanitas frowned. "I have been nice to them! I'm the one who told that idiot that he should get back with you because he wasn't gonna find anyone that hot again. If it wasn't for that, you two wouldn't be getting married." Kairi pouted toward him with her arms crossed. Vanitas pointed toward her finger. "And I'm the one who gave him the money to help pay for that little ring you got on your finger so he's in my debt. He has to do whatever I tell him."
Kairi glared at him. "Then you can have it."
Vanitas looked over at Xion. "As for you Mouse..." A surprised look came on Xion's face. She didn't expect to be called out by him. "I told that hotheaded, younger brother of mine to actually use protection. Otherwise, you would've had five kids by now."
Aqua glared toward him upset. "Vanitas!"
Vanitas grabbed some bread from the cabinet and started making a sandwich. "What? I'm just saying. Who else is gonna tell him?"
Aqua sighed as she buried her face in her hand embarrassed. "Sorry... He really doesn't have a filter..."
Kairi leaned her head against her hand as she frowned. "What is it about him that makes you want to marry him?"
Aqua shrugged. "I don't know anymore…" she moaned.
Vanitas smirked slyly. He had an answer for that. "I know why. Because I'm the only one that can make you-."
Quickly, Aqua threw her book toward him. She knew his mind headed for something dirty. It made Vanitas flinched for a second, but the book ended up hitting the back of the cabinet toward the kitchen. "Behave! We have guests!" Vanitas laughed out loud. Kairi shook her head as Xion looked uneasy and went back to reading.
Vanitas shrugged as he went in the fridge. "It's not a big deal. Why else would Red and Mouse over there stay with my brothers? They have to be doing something right." Xion buried her head in her book as red came to her cheeks. Kairi shook her head with her eyes closed. Vanitas shrugged. "You asked Red."
Kairi looked over at Aqua as she frowned. "I don't know if this idea is going to work…"
Aqua looked uneasy. "I'm starting to wonder that myself... Still, no reason we can't have a party."
Kairi pointed back toward Vanitas. "As long as he isn't invited, I think it will all right." She got up off of the floor and smiled. "Thanks for having us over Aqua."
Xion closed her book and got off of the chair. "It is getting late. I better be going too."
Aqua stood up as she smiled. "It was fun."
Kairi tilted her head toward the kitchen. "Well…until grumpy over there came home."
Vanitas stared down as he still made his sandwich. "Nice seeing you too princess," he replied sarcastically.
Aqua walked over toward the door with the girls. "Just mention it to the boys. I still think the party would be a good idea."
Kairi and Xion nodded. Then, Xion smiled a little. "Night."
Kairi waved. "See you later."
"Bye." Afterwards, Aqua closed the door behind them as she sighed. "You could be a little nicer to my friends you know…"
Vanitas shrugged with his hands up. "I was joking."
Aqua walked over to him in the kitchen. "I don't think they found it funny. Don't you like them at all?"
"They're all right..." Vanitas smirked. "Red isn't afraid to talk back. That's one thing that keeps her interesting. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gave Sora the money to get that ring. The quiet one on the other hand keeps Roxas from becoming a menace to society. She spared the world some trouble."
Aqua smirked a little. "That sounds familiar."
Vanitas frowned toward her. "Just because we're getting married doesn't mean you can keep me like a dog on a leash."
Aqua sighed. "I want you to be yourself."
He arched his eyebrow. "Just not when your friends are around. You ever think why I treat the girls just like I treat my brothers? They're family now, so I can do whatever I want."
Curious, Aqua leaned against the counter. "I've never thought about it like that… I guess that means you like them."
Vanitas smirked as he looked over. "That means they're tolerable."
"Speaking of which…" Aqua leaned against his back as she wrapped her arms around him.
Curious, he turned his head and arched his eyebrow toward her. "I thought you were mad at me." Then, he frowned as he got suspicious. "What do you want?"
Aqua smiled sweetly. "What do you mean?"
Vanitas wasn't going to fall for that. "You know exactly what I mean. You're only extra nice to me when you want something, so what do you want?"
Aqua sighed. "Fine…You got me..." Vanitas sat on the couch as he placed his feet on the table and started eating. Aqua followed behind and sat beside him. "Me and the girls were talking. Since we're engaged, I was thinking you could have a bachelor party while we have a bachelorette party."
Vanitas smirked toward her. "Are you telling me I can have strippers?"
Aqua blinked surprised. "What?! No-!"
As he smirked seductively, his fingers brushed against her arms. "While I'm flattered, if you just strip for me, I'll be happy. Your body is all natural and that's what I like about it. Nothing fake. These are all mine."
Aqua frowned and knocked away his hand before he could touch her chest. "That's not what I meant. We were thinking since we're all engaged, we could have a party to celebrate together and we were also thinking that this would be a good time for you to spend time with your brothers." Vanitas let out a loud sigh as his head fell back. "I think it's a good idea! Sora and Roxas spend a lot of time together and they don't live far away from us, so you could visit them once in a while. Also…" Concerned, her eyes traveled down. "…you haven't spoken to Ventus much since… since he was attacked..." Vanitas breathed out as he closed his eyes. Things were already complicated enough between them. Aqua gave a pleading stare. "Just please consider it."
Vanitas looked over serious. "And what do I get out of it?"
Aqua smiled a little. "You get to spend quality time with your brothers. I think if you would just give it a chance, you could have a fun time. You could decide what to do…" she tried to persuade him.
Vanitas looked toward the ground as he thought about it. "Hmm…" Some ideas did come to mind that could be funny. Afterwards, he gave a curious look. "What else you got?"
Aqua sighed. She knew it wouldn't be easy to convince him. "What else do you want?"
An idea came to mind, which caused him to let out a smirk. "Maybe you could give me some kind of incentive…"
Aqua looked surprised. "Like what?" Vanitas grabbed onto her hand. "Wha-?" She followed his pull into his lap. His hands went around her waist. Aqua let out a frown. "I shouldn't have to bribe you to go spend time with your brothers."
Vanitas smirked slyly. "It's not a bribe, it's an incentive." He leaned in and pressed his lips against her neck. Her eyes closed as she breathed out. "It's been a while."
"I've been really busy with-."
"I know, but you can take some kind of break." He placed his hand against the back of her neck and pulled her into a kiss. "Someone's been a little lonely," he whispered.
Between her thighs, she felt his pants stiffen and twitch. She lifted her eyes to him as she arched her eyebrow. "Let me guess… It's a 'friend' of yours."
He smirked. "How could you tell?" He pulled her into another kiss. His tongue slipped in and began to caress hers.
XXX
"Hm." More, she started to relax with him. His hand slid against her lower back until he grabbed the edge of her shirt. The two separated as he pulled her shirt over her head. "W…Wait… I still have to…"
"It can wait," his tone sounded impatient and hungry to continue. His fingers unhooked her bra and slipped off the straps. He threw it off to the side onto the floor. Aqua tilted her head up as her eyes lowered to a close. She could feel his lips against the skin of her neck as his hands teasingly caressed her breasts. Vanitas pushed her body up with his hips and tilted his head down to replace his left hand with his tongue. Aqua placed her hands on the couch and squeezed onto the edges. Her lips parted as she breathed heavily. His teasing made her lower half ache. He had full control of her body.
Vanitas lifted up his head and met with her soft lips. Soon, he grabbed onto the waistband of her shorts. He slid them further down her long legs until they fell on the floor. Quickly, he grabbed onto his belt and loosened them from his pants. Underneath, she could feel the back of his hand brush between her thighs. A small moan escaped her lips as a slight pleasure went through her body. Without breaking their kiss, he shifted his hips and lowered his pants and boxers down. Anxious, he pressed his hand against her lower back. A moan left from her lip as a sigh escaped from his once he slipped himself inside of her. For a brief moment, he questioned how long it had been. Inside, she was already very moist and he was almost ready to finish. Placing her hands on his hips, he guided her on top of him. Her knees dug further into the couch. His head tilted back against the edge of the couch as he closed his eyes. The tips of her fingers pressed into his left shoulder as her other fingers pressed lightly against the back of his head. Her head leaned against his right shoulder. Softly, she breathed out against his warm skin.
A few minutes later, he turned their bodies and pressed her back against the cushions as he came over. He pushed faster and deeper into her. Hungrily, his hand caressed over her right breast as his tongue caressed over the left. As pleasure began to take over her body, her moans became loud enough for him to hear. Her hand grabbed onto the side of the armrest as she closed her eyes tight. Her back arched as her legs pressed in at his sides. Louder she cried out. Her body began to overflow. Vanitas pushed hard into her. He felt a growl come into his throat as he closed his eyes tight. He could feel her insides tightening in around him. Several heavy breaths escaped from his lips. "Wait…! Before... Ah!" It was too late. A loud moan escaped from both of their lips. Before she could stop him, she could feel her release along with him.
Tired and breathing hard, he lifted himself on his arms. His body was covered in sweat. "What… were you trying to say?"
Aqua sighed as she felt tired as well. "I was trying to say…maybe we shouldn't…here..."
Vanitas let out a smirk. "Don't tell me…you're worried about messing up the couch…?" he spoke between breaths. He leaned in toward her expose neck and pressed a kiss against her skin. "Fine… We could try some other places in the apartment like…" He placed another kiss on her. "The kitchen… The shower…" His fingers brushed against her bangs as she still had her eyes closed. "This was a good start. Keep this up and maybe you can convince me about this party..."
Xion opened the door to her apartment. "Roxas! I'm back!" She closed it behind her and placed her shoes near the door. When she listened, there was no answer. She stepped over to the kitchen. A curious look came to her face. There was food on the stove, but he wasn't there. She hovered her hand over it. It felt warm, so she figured he had to still be in the apartment. She went over to their bedroom. "Roxas?" Nearby, she heard water running. That soon answered her question. He must've been in the shower. Before she sat down on the bed, she heard words coming from behind the door. Her eyes widened in surprise as she placed her bag on the floor. She pressed her ear closer to the door. She couldn't believe what she heard. Soon, she heard the water stop inside. A minute later, Roxas opened the door with a towel against his waist as he was still making the same sound. "Roxas?"
Roxas turned toward her as she spoke. Instantly, he jumped, almost dropping the towel from his waist. "Xion! Y-You're back already?!" Xion blinked at him surprised. Roxas did the same. "What? Did something happen?"
Xion continued to stare at him, stunned. "Roxas… I've…I've never heard you sing before…"
Roxas's eyes widened as red flooded his cheek, embarrassed. He scratched his cheek as he turned his head away from her. "Um…?" Afterwards, he rubbed the back of his head. "Pretend you didn't hear that."
"Why…? You're…really good." Roxas felt his face go more red. "How come you never told me?" Xion asked.
Uneasy, Roxas's eyes lowered toward the side. "I don't tell anyone really…I mean…" He shook his head and walked passed her. "Let's just drop it."
Xion sat on the edge of the bed. "Why? You shouldn't be embarrassed." A gentle smile came to her lips. "I got to learn something new about you. No one else knows about this, right?"
Roxas sighed. "No." Then, Roxas saw the smile Xion gave. It seemed to make her happy knowing something new about him. He relaxed somewhat. His fingers scratched the back of his head. "Back when I was younger… my mom used to hum and even sing a little. She was good at it."
Xion smiled gently. "You really do have the voice of a singer."
"Thanks..." he replied, still a little nervous.
"Would you…?"
Curious, he looked over. "What?"
Nervously she glanced down toward her fingers. "I was wondering if I could…hear it again?" Her request surprised him. Then, she shook her head quickly. Maybe it was too much to ask. He didn't want her to know in the first place. "Um… Never mind! I understand if you want it to be something you kept to yourself." Things turned silent afterwards. Thinking, his eyes drifted over toward the side. Xion leaned over as she took her books out of her bag. "Thanks for making dinner." She grinned. "I'm starving."
Then, she felt his fingers lift her head, which she became surprised. Roxas stared into her eyes suspicious. "You're not trying to make fun of me, are you?"
Xion shook her head. "No! Of course not!"
He figured that was the case. His eyes traveled toward the side as he thought. "Hmm…" Then, Roxas gave a half smile, half smirk toward her. "Maybe… I'll do it under one condition…"
Xion blinked, surprised. "Huh?! What's that?"
He smiled as he leaned in toward her. "You have to do the same."
A worried look came on Xion's face as she waved her hands. "No way! I can't sing!"
Roxas grinned. "I'm sure there's another way you can." As she stared at him, she wasn't sure what he meant by that. Roxas leaned in toward her and pressed his lips to hers. The kiss caught her a little by surprise. He left a few kisses along her neck. Her eyes lowered to a close as she breathed out. Afterwards, she could hear his smooth voice singing in her ear. "I don't want another pretty face. I don't want just anyone to hold…" The slight tickle from his warm breath along with his sweet lyrics made her giggle. The smile increased on his face as he watched her react. On and off, he kissed her lips. "I don't want my love to go to waste…" He leaned forward as she leaned back. Her body lied against the bed as his body came over her. "I want you and your beautiful soul…" Her eyes gazed into his, entranced, as he smiled at her. His lips met with hers again.
"Hm." Her knees brushed against the side of his hips. His hands reached underneath her skirt and pulled her underwear further down her legs. As he moved closer to her, his towel slipped from around his waist. He smiled down at her before he brought his lips back to hers. It wasn't long before he heard her voice singing to him...
Later that night, the two sat beside each other on the couch. Xion's head leaned against his shoulder as they stared forward at the television. There were empty plates on their table where they had put up their feet. "Were you able to get any studying done at Aqua's?"
Xion lifted up from him as she smiled and nodded. "Yeah."
Roxas looked curious. "Did you happen to run into Vanitas?" Xion let out a sigh as she closed her eyes. "I'll take that as a yes…"
Then, Xion blinked surprised. "That reminds me! Aqua was thinking of having a party with all of the girls." Then, she gave him a look of unease as her shoulders tensed. "And… she wants you and your brothers to have one of your own…"
Roxas arched his eyebrow. "She wants the four of us to get together?" He breathed out. "I don't know about that…"
Xion smiled a little. "Well…I think it's a good idea. They're your family. They'll be at our wedding."
He let out a sigh as he rolled his eyes. "Sora sure. Ventus all right. Vanitas…"
She leaned forward on her hands against the couch as she smiled. "I think it'll be okay." As he stared into her eyes, she seemed sure. For a moment, he didn't believe it was a bad idea.
"Sora! I'm back!" Kairi opened the door as she smiled. In the kitchen, she spotted him standing near the stove in the kitchen. Curious, she went over and stood beside him. "What did you end up making?"
Nervously, he smiled. "Um…?"
When she looked down, she looked surprised. "Oh! That's not bad." She smiled toward him. "Better than last time."
He rubbed the back of his head. "Last time, it was kinda…burnt…"
Kairi grinned. "But this time it's not. That means you're getting better." Afterwards, Kairi walked over and put her bag down on the couch.
Sora looked over at her curious. "How was it?"
She walked back toward him. "I think Aqua came up with a good idea. She thought since everyone's engaged, we could have a bachelor/bachelorette party to celebrate."
Sora took her hands in his. "I'm guess you didn't tell them about us yet?"
Kairi shook her head. "Not yet. But to be fair, I didn't get one before we got married."
She brought up a good point. "Neither did I."
"Aqua was thinking that you could use the time to spend with your brothers." Then, she smiled as an idea came to mind. "Hey! Maybe you can invite Riku too! I'm sure the others wouldn't object. The two of you are pretty much brothers."
Sora nodded. "Sure." A little nervous, he rubbed the back of his head. "Have you…thought about inviting Namine?"
Kairi looked toward the side. "Hmm…I can try, but she's usually busy. I haven't been able to talk to her much."
He placed his hands on her shoulders. "I'm sure it will work out."
"Hmm…" Kairi was unsure about that. They seemed further apart like they were before...
Inside of her apartment, Aqua sat down on the couch as she pulled out her cellphone. After going through her contacts, she pressed the phone to her ear. Once she heard the person on the other line pick up, she let out a relieved smile. "Hey! It's me…It's been a long time…"
"You guys ready?" Kairi glanced back at Xion, Roxas, and Sora who followed behind her. They each carried a gift box in their hands. Tonight was the night that the girls would celebrate in Aqua's apartment, while the boys would celebrate elsewhere.
Roxas sighed as he rolled his eyes. "I guess…Do we have to go with him?"
Sora grinned toward Roxas. "We could ditch and go on our own."
Kairi frowned toward them. "Come on… It won't be that bad."
Sora smirked toward her, skeptical. "Do you really believe that…?"
Kairi sighed and knocked on the door. "Not really…"
A few seconds later, Aqua answered and smiled once she saw them. "Hey! Come on in!" They stepped inside and placed their gifts down near the door. Already inside, Selphie and Olette waved toward them as they sat on the floor. "Hey guys!" Nearby, Yuna and Rikku stood beside each other as Yuna smiled and Rikku grinned. Paine leaned against the wall with her arms crossed as she gave her usually unamused frown. They greeted them as well. The four smiled toward everyone.
Nearby, they noticed Vanitas step into the kitchen with a frown as Aqua walked behind him with her hands on his shoulders. "You'll have fun tonight. You'll see."
Vanitas rolled his eyes toward the side. "Yeah yeah…"
Aqua stepped in front of him. "Remember? You said you would give it a chance."
Vanitas arched his eyebrow. "I'm pretty sure you tricked me into saying that when you-."
She grabbed onto the edges of his black leather jacket and interrupted him with a kiss on the cheek. "Go have fun." Vanitas let out a sigh. He wasn't going to get out of this one…
Kairi grabbed onto Sora's hands and left a quick peck on his lips. "Have fun tonight."
Sora smiled back. "You too."
Roxas wrapped his arms around Xion as she wrapped hers around his waist. She grinned. "Try not to get into too much trouble."
He smiled back at her. "I won't." They stared at each other until Roxas suddenly felt a pull at the back of his collar.
Surprised, he looked back to see Vanitas with a frown and dull stare. "You can flirt later. Let's get this over with."
Roxas looked back upset as he waved his arms. "Let go of me!" Sora waved before they left.
Aqua, Kairi, and Xion stood beside each other. "Think they'll be all right?" Xion asked concerned.
Then, they looked a little worried. "Hmm…"
Outside, the night air felt cool and comfortable. Sora placed his hands behind his head as he looked curious. "So? Where are we going?"
Vanitas looked back, slightly annoyed. "We'll be there soon enough."
Sora tilted his head toward the side. "Just asking so I can let the others know."
Roxas arched his eyebrow. "You wanna give us a hint?"
Vanitas glared toward both of them. "Pipe down. We're almost there."
Soon, they reached a small building where they walked inside and followed behind Vanitas. Once they looked inside, Sora and Roxas were surprised. Right away, they realized what kind of atmosphere they were in. The place was a little dark and surrounded by wooden tables and people murmuring around them. Confused, Roxas looked over at Vanitas. "You brought us to a bar?"
Sora placed his hands behind his head. "Somewhere like the arcade would've been better."
Vanitas looked behind him as he frowned. "Will you two stop whining?! Just come on…" They followed him to a table with a few extra chairs. Vanitas sat at the front end as Roxas sat on his left and Sora sat beside him.
Roxas and Sora looked around. Everyone around them seemed to be mostly drinking. Uneasy, Sora looked over at Vanitas. "Um…? We're not really big drinkers."
"They have food here too..." Vanitas replied.
A few minutes later, another person walked in and approached the table. Sora let out a smile once he saw who it was and waved. "Hey! Ventus! You got my message!"
Ventus smiled toward them. "Hey Sora! Roxas!" He frowned a little toward Vanitas. "Vanitas…"
Vanitas frowned back as he glared with his arms crossed. "Ventus…"
Sora gave them an uneasy smile. He could already sense their tension. "Come on guys! We're here to get along tonight."
Ventus sighed. He knew Sora was right. He sat down on Vanitas's right. Ventus baled his fists. "I'm only here as a favor to you guys. Nothing else."
Soon after, a waitress came over and greeted them with a smile. "You fellas ready to order?"
Before anyone could speak, Vanitas held up four fingers. "Four beers. This is a special occasion."
The middle aged, heavy set woman in the pink uniform grinned toward them. "Ooh! What are you guys celebrating?"
Vanitas pointed toward Sora and Roxas. "Me and the two dorky looking ones over there just got engaged." Sora laughed nervously toward the waitress as Roxas frowned at Vanitas for his comment.
"Oh congratulations! Sounds like some lucky girls!" she sounded elated. "I'll be right back with that order!" Afterwards, she turned and walked away.
Roxas turned his attention back to Vanitas. "Did you really have to order for us…?"
Uneasy, Sora looked toward the side. "Yeah…I don't know if I would really like beer…"
Ventus crossed his arms as he frowned at Vanitas. "Did you really have to bring us here…?"
Annoyed with them talking, Vanitas glared toward all of them. "Stop complaining! There's a reason I brought you guys here!" Once he knew he had their attention, Vanitas calmed down. "It's time that I teach you guys how to be men."
Roxas shook his head. "Oh no…" He didn't want to know where Vanitas was going with this.
Ventus crossed his arms as he arched his eyebrow. "And what could you possibly have to teach us?"
The waitress returned with their drinks in hand as she grinned and placed them on the table. "Here we go! Enjoy!"
Afterwards, Vanitas picked up his glass and held it up. "Cheers." Curious as to what he was going to say next, they lifted up their glasses. "Despite not being there, we were brought together by one man. There could be other bastards out there like us, but we're the ones who ended up together and we did just fine without him." The table could hear the distain in his voice. It was no secret to them that Vanitas resented their father.
"If you say so…" Ventus muttered.
Vanitas glared toward him. "Mistakes were made…" he snapped. "…but we got through them and we ended up happier without him."
Sora looked toward the side as he thought. "Still… I wonder what it would've been like if he was there…"
Roxas became angry. "I don't like agreeing with the spawn of evil, but Vanitas is right! We're better off without him!"
Vanitas cursed loudly toward them, which their eyes widened in surprise and they leaned away from him. "Will you let me finish?!" He relaxed and continued. His eyes lowered toward the table. "Regardless of how things would have turned out, we exist. That's all he needed to do. We're the ones who made it." As he looked toward them serious, he held out his glass. "To us."
Sora smiled as Roxas looked serious and Ventus looked calm. "To us," they chanted after him. Simultaneous, they drank their beers. As everyone put their glasses on the table, Sora made a sound of disgust. Vanitas glared toward his glass he held onto, serious. "And where ever that deadbeat prick is, I hope he burns..."
Roxas held up his glass toward Vanitas. "Cheers to that."
Surprised that they actually agreed with something tonight, he clanked his glass with Roxas's. Both of them bent their heads back as they drunk. Sora and Ventus started to get worried by how angry they were getting…
The waitress walked over and smiled. "Another one?"
"Sure," Vanitas replied. She placed another glass in front of Vanitas and Roxas. Vanitas waved his finger in a circle. "Keep 'em coming," The waitress nodded and left.
Sora smiled to cheer them up. "Oh come on! Things aren't all that bad. We got each other, right?"
Roxas looked at Sora with anger. "How can you not hate that selfish son of a-?!" He breathed out after he saw the worried look on Sora's face. Roxas calmed down a little. "He lied! He cheated on our moms! He just abandoned us like it was nothing! He's the reason my mother is dead!"
Ventus gave Vanitas a concerned look. "I think it would be better if you didn't get him any more alcohol..."
Vanitas gave a slight shrug after he took a sip of his beer. "Let him get it out. It's better that he does it now, then let it come up in a worse way later."
Vanitas's words surprised Ventus. For once, Vanitas sounded mature. Vanitas looked over at Ventus with anger on his face as well. "But you know he's right or have you forgotten that we struggled and I was the one who had to pay so we could keep the house and have food to eat?"
Ventus looked upset. "No one asked you to do any of that!"
"And what?! You would've?! No!" Vanitas pointed his thumb toward himself. "Who knows where you would be without me?!"
Sora looked worried as he held up his hands. "Guys-!"
Vanitas glared toward Ventus as he leaned in closer. "If you want to say something, then say it!"
Ventus stood up, frustrated. "I'm leaving."
Angry, Vanitas stood up and slammed his hands on the table. "You wanna have it out you whiny, little loser?! Then let's get something straight! I didn't ask to do anything I did to get that money! I didn't have a choice!"
"Everyone has a choice!" Ventus shouted back.
"Not for me! I almost died because I tried to leave! Also…" Vanitas sighed. He wasn't good at saying certain feelings. He grabbed his glass and threw his head back as he consumed everything inside.
Ventus stared at him a little surprised along with Sora and Roxas. "Vanitas…?"
"Shut up." Vanitas grabbed Sora's drink and consumed it as well. They started to worry at fast he was drinking. Vanitas breathed out once he was done. As he thought back, his eyes stared hurt and mostly numb at the table. When he felt ready, he spoke, "Also… you weren't supposed to get hurt either. You were just a causality because I tried to leave..." Ventus stared at him uneasy. Vanitas looked at him serious. "You can hate me all you want. I don't care, but… Aqua does. You're like her little brother. She would do anything for you. She visited you every day she could while you were asleep." Ventus sighed as he looked down. Vanitas glared toward him. "Get over yourself!"
Afterwards, Ventus sat down as he thought back. "I'm sorry about what happened to you…" His face grew serious. "You're right. I was just…so angry back then, but I shouldn't have been." Vanitas sat down as he sighed. At least, he was able to get his point across. He baled his fist. "What you did wasn't right, but…you did it for us."
Vanitas took Roxas's glass and drunk from it. Roxas looked surprised and upset. "Hey!"
Vanitas closed his eyes as he relaxed. "That's the same thing Aqua said." Ventus looked surprised.
When the waitress came back, she was amazed to see their glasses already empty. "Wow! You guys went through those fast."
"Another round," Vanitas said. After she placed more glasses on the table, she walked away.
Roxas looked down toward the table upset. "I couldn't do that to my own kid."
Vanitas took another sip of his drink. "I don't either of us could."
"Not even you?" Sora asked jokily.
Vanitas glared toward him serious, which made Sora back down. "No."
Sora looked at him surprised. "You actually want kids?"
Vanitas shrugged. "I don't know, but if she ends up having one…" Vanitas glanced between Ventus and Roxas. "Anyway, you're both wasting your time. I've never known Sora to hate anyone no matter what wrong they've done to him."
Roxas looked over at Sora serious. "Sometimes I think you are too soft."
Sora let out a sigh and took another sip of beer. Instantly, he made another sound of disgust. "I can't drink this."
Vanitas sighed and waved down the waitress. She gave a smile as she walked over. "What can I do for you?"
"Do you have a drink my brother would like? Something that hides the alcohol really well."
Sora smiled as he put his hands up behind his head. "Awe...! You called me your brother and not dork or idiot."
Vanitas cursed under his breath loud enough for him to hear. "I can't be getting drunk already…"
Ventus shook his head. "No more for me-."
"Keep them coming." Vanitas looked at his brothers. "Everything tonight is on me."
Sora smiled hopeful. "Even food? I'm hungry."
Vanitas waved him off. "We'll get to that later."
Laughs came from all of the girls sitting around Aqua's apartment. Selphie smiled, surprised. "I can't believe you guys are getting married!" she sounded excited. Aqua, Kairi, and Xion grinned. "It's going to be so romantic! Maybe you could have a triple wedding," she joked. Nervously, the girls smiled at each other.
Olette smiled a little. "Sorry that the guys couldn't make it. Hayner and Pence couldn't get out of their tests this weekend. They have a lot of studying to do."
Yuna looked disappointed. "Tidus and Wakka couldn't make it either. They're playing in a blitzball tournament."
Kairi grinned. "It's all right. I think it was a good turn out."
Aqua glanced toward Kairi before she looked at the girls. "Mainly we wanted the brothers to get together, so they could spend time with each other."
Xion was a little surprised. "I kind of thought Vanitas was against the idea."
Aqua sighed as she thought about all the things she had to do for Vanitas, even when she didn't want to. "It wasn't easy to convince him…"
Kairi glanced concerned at the door. "I hopeful they're having fun…"
Olette smiled to assure Kairi. "I'm sure they are. We shouldn't worry about them having fun. We should be worried about us having fun! So? Do you have any wedding plans?"
Selphie shook excited. " Aren't you getting excited?! Did you already pick out a dress?!" Kairi looked down nervous as she fidgeted with her fingers. Selphie grinned. "Come on! This is a celebration!" Olette agreed nodded in agreement.
Rikku grinned as an idea came to mind. "We could do something fun like… Truth or Dare."
Yuna nodded her head a few times. "That sounds fun!"
"So? Who wants to be the first victim?" Paine asked.
Everyone became quiet. Kairi looked toward the side as she thought. Now would be a good as time as any while everyone was here. Nervously, she raised her hand. "I'll go."
Paine smirked. "We have our first victim."
Aqua decided to join in, so Kairi wouldn't be alone. "I'll start too. Let's go with…Truth!"
Kairi stood up in front of the others with her hands behind her. "Before you say what I have to answer, there's something I want to confess first. That would be my truth." Everyone reacted with surprise. Kairi looked around at all of the girls nervously. "Well…The truth is…While this is to celebrate us getting engaged…I'm not… exactly engaged anymore… In fact…I'm…I'm really…married…to Sora..." Shocked faces surrounded her except for Xion. Inside, Xion was surprised that Kairi told them. Kairi bowed in front of her with her hands together. "I'm so sorry! I know I should've told everyone, but we kept it a secret, and it's been a long time since we've been together like this, so we wanted to tell you all at once." Kairi stood up straight. "We're still plan on having a wedding where everyone is invited."
Eventually, Aqua came out of her shock. "Kairi…? When…did this happen?"
Kairi placed her hands behind her back nervous to tell them the answer. "Almost two years ago…The day after we got engaged…"
The others looked at each other stunned and then back at her. Selphie looked concerned. "Why didn't you tell us?!"
Kairi waved her hands in front of her. "It was spur of the moment! We didn't plan it!"
Selphie looked disappointed. "Oh come on! You could have called us back! We would've come!"
"I'm sorry! We really didn't have enough time!" Kairi replied.
Selphie and Olette crossed their arms as they looked at each other. Both of them thought the same thing. Then, Selphie stood up with her arms crossed as Kairi looked curious. She wondered how mad they were with her. "I guess… we owe you two a gift then." Selphie waved her finger toward Kairi. "Just make sure when you have the next wedding to tell us."
Kairi smiled and nodded. "I will." The others smiled at her. They didn't seem too upset. As the girls talked, Xion looked over at Aqua. "I really hoped the guys are having as much fun."
Aqua nodded to assure her. "I'm sure they are."
Inside of the bar, the four boys let out a laugh. Inside, they were surprised. It was the first time they could genuine laugh together. "Hey!" The four of them lifted their heads up to see a man with long silver hair approached the table.
Sora grinned, excited. "Riku! You made it! Hey guys! Riku's here!"
Vanitas arched his eyebrow toward Sora. "I thought this was supposed to be a brothers' only thing."
Sora stood up as he pushed his chair back from him and put his arm around Riku. Behind him, a huge biker looked back upset as he held his beer. Sora's chair had bumped into his, but soon, he turned around and ignored it. "Hey! He's my best friend! He should count!"
Ventus looked over at Vanitas. "They practically are brothers. Let him stay."
Vanitas frowned and then turned his attention to Riku. "Fine, but he has to catch up with the rest of us."
Sora grinned. "Yeah!" He slapped Riku's back. "You have to! You're a part of it now too!"
Riku stared at Sora confused. He noticed his cheeks were red and the grin never let off of his face. He seemed more hyper than usually. "Uh…?" Afterwards, he noticed the glasses around the table filled with alcohol. "Have you guys been drinking the whole time?"
"Shh! Shh…" Sora put his finger to his mouth. He used Riku for support as he stood. "We still have to act normal or... they'll be mad at us…"
Riku stared at Sora surprised. "Huh?"
Sora put his hands on his hips as he waved his finger. "Vanitas told us not to tell the others or we'll get in trouble…"
Ventus gave Vanitas a dull stare. "Seriously stop letting Sora drink…"
Vanitas ignored Ventus's advice and pointed his glass toward Riku. "If you stay, you drink. That's the rule."
Sora put his hands on Riku's shoulders and pushed him down onto the chair beside his. "You have to stay!"
When Riku glanced over, he noticed Roxas secretly glaring at him. He definitely wasn't sure what he stepped into now. Before he could say anything, a shot was placed in front of him. The waitress placed shots in front of the rest of the boys. Vanitas looked up at her. "Give the newcomer another one. He's playing catch up." The waitress nodded. Vanitas held up his shot glass as he smirked. "On three. One, two, three!" All of the boys tilted their heads back and slammed their glasses on the table. Riku closed his eyes tight as he held onto his glass. The taste was really bitter. Ventus shook his head, Vanitas let out a smirk, Roxas cursed out loud, and Sora laughed out loud.
The waitress put another drink in front of Riku. He shook his head. "No way."
Vanitas smirked as he pointed toward him. "It's the rule. You're supposed to let it burn, not drink it like water."
Sora put his arm around Riku's shoulder as he grinned. "Yeah! It's the rule!" With courage to go through it again, he tilted his head and drunk again. "There you go!" Riku breathed out. It was still too bitter to drink.
Vanitas was impressed. "You're not as much of a lightweight as I thought."
Riku pressed his hand to his forehead as he closed his eyes. "How can you drink this stuff?"
Sora placed his hands on Riku's and Roxas's shoulder. "Good! Everyone's here! Now we can celebrate!"
Roxas shrugged his hand off as he looked grumpy. "Whatever…"
Vanitas smirked. "I thought that's what we were doing anyway."
Ventus looked over toward Riku. "So? How are things on your end?"
Riku smiled a little. "It's okay. Just a lot of work with school."
Vanitas looked over curious. "So? You got a girl like the rest of us or are you like Ventus? Hopeless." Ventus glared at Vanitas for his comment.
Riku's eyes traveled down uneasy. "Well…" Then, he noticed everyone staring at him, so he felt he should answer. "It's complicated."
Venuts looked curious. "What do you mean?"
Riku took another sip of his drink as he looked toward the table. "It's nothing..."
Roxas put his glass on the table. "There's no girl. He's just saying that."
Riku frowned at Roxas. "What makes you say that?"
Roxas gave him a serious look. "Why else? Every girl you've gone after ended up choosing someone else. Remember that?"
Vanitas snickered. "That's cold…The guy just got here and you're already going off on him?"
Roxas cast his angry glare on Vanitas. "Back off!"
Vanitas shrugged as he drunk his beer and brushed it off. "Whatever…"
Riku glared toward him. "I did have someone!"
Roxas glared back. "She wasn't yours! She's already gone! Get over it!"
Sora held up his hands as he glanced back and forth between the two of them. Nervously, he laughed. "Hey…guys…I thought this was supposed to be happy time…"
"Again with this?! You're that insecure about her?" Riku asked.
Roxas growled as he slid his chair back and hit the back of another biker's chair. "What did you say?!"
Vanitas smirked. Things were getting interesting. "Ooh…! What's going on here? Roxas, you've been eyeing this guy ever since he got in."
Riku stood out of his chair upset. "I thought this was over with!"
"If you want her back, just say so!" Roxas shouted.
Sora held out his hands between them. "Whoa! Guys…!"
Vanitas leaned back in his chair. "I'm down to see a fight!"
Ventus looked concerned at the two. "Wait! What are you two talking about?!"
Sora stood up between them and slid his chair back. It hit the back of the biker's chair, which he looked back. "Hey!"
Ventus leaned over toward the side. "He's sorry!" He turned his attention back to the three. "Now what's going on?!"
"She wasn't the one I was talking about! I don't want her back! She's just a friend of mine!" Riku replied.
Vanitas looked surprised and excited. "Wait! Are you talking…? Whatever your girl's name is?"
Roxas glanced back at him. "Xion!" Then, he glared back at Riku. "And yes!"
Vanitas put his hand to his head as he laughed loud enough that half of the bar could hear him. "I can't believe that quiet girl was stringing two guys along! I didn't give her enough credit!"
Ventus frowned at Vanitas. "It's not funny…"
Riku shook his head a little. "Just because we still talk doesn't mean-."
Roxas's eyes widened. "What?! She's still talking to you?!"
Riku frowned. "Yes! It's not surprising she wants friends other than you!"
Sora smiled nervously. "Hey…! Hey… We're all friends here…"
Roxas looked Sora upset. "Speak for yourself!"
Ventus looked over at Vanitas. "Do something about this!"
Vanitas shrugged. Personally, he wanted to see what would happen next. "He's been getting his anger out. I say let him."
"Keep it down over there!" the biker behind Sora yelled. He was already frustrated with them as it was.
Quickly, Riku along with Roxas turned his head toward the man. "Mind your own business!"
Roxas baled his fists. "Stay out of this old timer!"
Vanitas burst out laughing as Ventus and Sora looked worried. The biker stood up from his chair angry. "What did you say?" Soon, two of his other friends stood up beside him. "Because you're kids, we'll let it go this time."
Roxas stood firm in front of him. "Why don't you sit back in your rocking chairs and reminisce about old times?"
Sora looked over concerned. "Roxas…"
The man grabbed Roxas's shirt. "Keep talking kid and we'll teach you some manners!"
Vanitas calmed down from laughing. He couldn't remember ever laughing so much. "Don't back down from them! Actually say something back!"
Sora reached in and pulled them apart. "Let go of him! Why don't you get on your bicycles with your tassels and ride off together to braid each other's hair? Oops! Sorry! I guess you don't have any." The man growled and punched Sora in the face. Afterwards, he grabbed Sora's shirt, but Roxas and Riku grabbed onto his arms before he could strike again. The other two men grabbed onto them as they struggled. Ventus rushed over and held them back as well.
A dark glare came to Vanitas's face as he stood up. He separated them from the one who hit Sora and punched the guy in the stomach, which made him bent over. Quickly, he punched him in the face. The guy fell onto the floor and knocked some chairs over. Afterwards, he turned his attention to Sora. "You okay?"
Sora leaned against the table as he rubbed his cheek that was red. He let a grin. "Actually… I didn't feel a thing."
Vanitas smirked, impressed. "Either your head is hard or you know how to take a hit." The bikers helped their friend up from the floor before they turned to face them again. Vanitas stood on guard until he noticed something heading toward them out of the corner of his eye. Vanitas turned his head toward the others. "Hold your up hands."
Roxas looked anxious. That would leave them open for them to strike. "What-?!"
Vanitas glared toward him. "Just do it!" The others wanted to question why, but noticed the stern look on his face and did as he said. Sora held up one hand as he rubbed his cheek with the other.
The man gave an angry look toward Vanitas. "You think you're tough…" Vanitas continued to glare toward the man, but he remained still. The man baled his fist and went to strike again. The others flinched, but kept their hands up. Vanitas on the other hand stood firm.
"What's going on here?!" a voice shouted. Soon, a man came over to him along with the waitress that served them. "There's no fighting in my bar!"
Vanitas looked over calm along with the others who looked concerned. The manager seemed like a short, timid man. Maybe that could work in his advantage... "Hey! We're not the ones who started it. We were just having a good time when that guy attacked my little brother. All that we ask was that they leave us alone." Vanitas walked over and turned Sora's head. "Now I'm not very happy that he got hurt. I thought this was supposed to be a safe establishment. We're over here buying drinks like regular customers because we're celebrating. You see, this guy right here is supposed to be getting married. Now how will his girl react when she sees this face? It's a shame. Such a cute and innocent face and now it ain't worth looking at. Ain't that right boys?"
Roxas, Riku, and reluctant Ventus nodded their heads. "Yup!" Ventus agreed.
"Yes," Riku said.
"That's going to be a messed-up face in the morning," Roxas responded. Sora leaned forward toward him and frowned.
The man looked upset. "He's lying! They're the ones who started it!"
Vanitas shook his head as he sighed in disappointment. "If this is how you let these guys treat your other customers, then we'll go find somewhere to celebrate. I mean we were buying drinks all night and what did these guys do? Probably only brought one. That's not good for business." Vanitas turned and started walking away. "I guess you don't respect your customers enough!" he spoke loud enough for everyone to hear.
The owner looked toward the men. "I would like the three of you to leave now." The men looked shocked and then angry. Afterwards, they walked out. The owner turned his attention back to Vanitas. "I'm sorry about that."
Vanitas sighed. "I guess that's all right…, but my brother is still in pain." He looked over at Sora who looked surprised. Vanitas glared toward him.
Finally, Sora caught his silent message. "Oh!" Sora put his hand on his face as he closed his eyes tight. "Ow! Ow…"
Vanitas looked serious. "Since this happened under your bar's watch, there's a liability and a violation of safety that I could bring up-."
The owner looked worried. "D-don't worry the bill! We'll knock off say fifty-." The owner noticed Vanitas didn't seem happy about his offer and the stern glare he gave him. "Don't-Don't worry about the bill tonight. Please! Enjoy yourselves."
Vanitas smirked. "Thanks." As soon as the owner left, everyone breathed out a sigh of relief. Vanitas sat back down. "And that's how you get out of a situation."
Ventus sighed silently as he sat down. Like the others, he couldn't believe Vanitas's plan worked. Riku sat beside Sora as he breathed out. Then, he looked over concerned at Sora. "Are you sure you're okay?"
Sora grinned. "Oh yeah! I'm fine."
Roxas placed his hands on the table as he sighed. "Sorry for getting you into that…"
Riku turned his attention back to Roxas and spoke calmly. "There's no point fighting anymore. You're the one marrying her and I know she loves you. What is this really about?"
Roxas sighed as he stared down. "I'm not sure if…I don't know…Maybe if she chose you, things would have been easier for her. I couldn't tell her how I felt when she told me. You probably would have told her how you felt right away. I put her through a lot… I don't know if…I'm the right one…"
Vanitas let out a sigh. "Listen. I'm sure we all thought that we weren't good enough. I know I did." The others looked at him surprised. Vanitas frowned toward them. "Why do you guys look so surprised?! No one thought I was good enough for Aqua, so I thought the same."
Ventus looked down concerned. He didn't help convince him otherwise. Sora looked down sad. "I didn't think I was good enough for Kairi either…"
Riku smile a little for comfort. "Why wouldn't you?"
Vanitas leaned back in his chair. "You two are practically attached at the hip."
Sora shook his head. "I don't know…I just didn't know if I could give her everything she wanted..." He slammed his fist on the table, which caught everyone's attention. "And she deserves a lot!"
Riku looked over calm. "I think the point we're trying to make is it's not up to you to decide. It's up to her."
Vanitas looked over serious. "She could be with you because you're the kind she likes or maybe she's trying to save you, but either way she said yes, so you're stuck with her."
Ventus gave a sincere look toward Roxas. "You are good enough." Then, he looked over at Vanitas. "I think we all are." His words surprised Vanitas and left him speechless.
Roxas laughed a little. "Thanks guys."
Sora grinned between Riku and Roxas. "So you can make up now! Hug it out."
Riku turned his head away. "I'll pass."
Roxas held up his fist toward Sora. "You want another fist to the face?"
Everyone laughed a little. Then, Roxas looked over at Riku curious. "If it wasn't Xion you were talking about, then who was the other girl?"
Sora looked up curious. "Who else do we know?"
Roxas smiled a little. "Well we know it's not Kairi either."
Sora frowned toward him. "Hey!"
"Hmm…" Sora and Roxas looked down curious. The words didn't come to Riku to ask them to stop guessing. Sora started to count on his fingers. "Let's see… There's Selphie and Olette…"
"Other than that, there's Namine," Roxas pointed out. Both Sora and Roxas looked over curious, which Riku turned his head away from them. Roxas looked surprised. "It's wasn't Namine… was it?"
Sora's eyes widened, stunned. "What?! Are you serious?!" Riku's eyes stayed glued to the table.
Vanitas took a sip of his drink and smirked. "Bingo! Hey! Isn't that Red's sister?"
Roxas looked stunned. "No way!"
Sora placed his hands to the sides of his head as he closed his eyes tight. All of a sudden, he cursed out loud, which made everyone at the table stare at him. They didn't know whether to be shocked by the news or Sora's sharp word after. For a few seconds, there was silence until Vanitas couldn't contain his grin. He burst out laughing and pointed over. "That's exactly what your best friend did with your sister!" He continued laughing. "I've never heard Sora say that word before!"
Ventus glared toward Vanitas. "You really are a bad influence on him. How do you know if things went that far anyway?"
Vanitas calmed down as he put his hand to his face. "Okay! Okay! Did you fu-? Sorry! For Ventus's sake of not being a bad influence, like I care… did you screw the sister?" Uneasy, Riku scratched his hair. "No need to be shy! I'm sure everyone has gotten some except for the Saint Virgin Ventus over there!" Ventus glared toward him. There was still no answer. Vanitas leaned back in his chair with his hands out near him. "There's your answer. Sora? Can you say it again? That was too funny!"
Before Sora could speak, Ventus spoke first. "Don't…"
"Geez…" Roxas couldn't believe what he heard.
Sora plopped his head on the table with his eyes closed, making a noticeable thump and sighed out loud. Riku looked over at Sora. "I didn't mean for it to happen."
"Why are you getting so worried for?" Vanitas didn't see it as a big deal.
Sora sighed out loud. "How am I supposed to tell Kairi?!"
Vanitas shrugged. "You don't have to tell her anything."
Sora turned his head on the table as he closed his eyes sad. "But you're supposed to tell your wife everything…"
"She's not your wife yet, so you don't have to say anything," Vanitas said.
Sora's eyes traveled toward the side. "But she is my wife..."
Vanitas stared at him speechless as Ventus looked stunned. From the look on his face, it didn't seem like a joke. Roxas sighed as he looked at Sora. "He's right. They're already married."
Vanitas was still in shock. "You sneaky little bastard! When did this happen?!"
"Um…?" Sora looked over at Roxas. He couldn't think straight. "How long…have I…?"
Roxas crossed his arms as he looked up and thought about it. "Um…? T-two years almost…"
Vanitas slammed his hands on the table as he stood up. "What?! You waited this long to tell us you little twerp!"
Ventus looked over calm. "I guess you can get information out of people when they're drunk..."
Vanitas looked over at Riku. "You don't look surprised either. How long have you known?"
"Um…?" Riku sighed with his hand to his head. He couldn't think straight either. "Wait…what?"
Vanitas glared toward Sora. "Forget it! When were you going to tell us or better yet, when did it happen?!"
Sora lifted his head and looked toward the side. "Um… Well you see…it was that summer after I got the ring… and there was this beach… I-I guess…" Sora looked up as he put his fingers to his chin. "I asked her to marry me and then the-the next day…that's when it happened… eventually..." Sora smiled nervously. "It was…kind of out of nowhere…"
Roxas looked over Vanitas. "It was…spur of the moment…It happened…really fast…"
Vanitas sighed and sat down. "Congratulations I guess…"
"Thanks…" Lightheaded, Sora placed his head on the table. Things between quiet between them. Then, Ventus looked around the table. Sora had his head face down as Roxas had his head turned sideways on the table and Riku had his head buried in his hands. The three of them seemed miserable. Ventus looked over at Vanitas. "I think…we should probably eat something… I think we're starting to slow down."
Vanitas sighed. "I can't have one of you die on my watch I guess…" He caught the attention of the waitress. Afterwards, she brought over menus for everyone to look over. Roxas took an extra menu for Sora and slid it underneath his head. He didn't open his menu once while the others read.
Soon, the waitress came back over. "Do you know what you would like to have?" Then, she looked over at Sora concerned. He hadn't moved since she came back. "Is he okay?"
Ventus placed his hand to his head lightheaded. "Can you two check to see if he's still alive?" Roxas put two fingers on one side of his neck as Riku did the same on the other side. "Yeah," Roxas answered.
Vanitas looked over at the waitress who still seemed worried. "They're just playing around."
Roxas looked over as well. "Just get him a burger with everything on it. I'll have the same."
Ventus looked concerned. "Actually, you better make that a soup. Don't want him getting sick."
"Awe! You guys…really do care…" they heard Sora murmur under the table.
After they got their food, all of them slowly ate and managed to finish despite their turning stomachs. Everyone except for Vanitas groaned. Everything they had tonight was starting to get to them. Ventus sighed as he put his hand to his stomach. "I think we should've eaten first before we drank." Ventus looked over at Vanitas. "I don't think…we can't get back…by ourselves… Maybe we should call…"
Vanitas frowned toward him. "Suck it up! We can make it back!"
Ventus looked around the table. "I don't think they can get up much less walk out of the door."
Vanitas crossed his arms. "They can walk back…"
Ventus sighed. He was in no mood to argue. "Fine…" He stood up from his chair and stumbled a little.
Vanitas's eyes followed him. "Where are you going?"
Ventus looked back at him. "I'm going to the bathroom." He walked away afterwards. Vanitas was suspicious that Ventus was up to something, but then let it go. He turned his attention back to the others upset. "Come on! Let's go!"
"Just let us sleep!" Sora groaned as he kept his head down on the table.
Vanitas looked upset. "Don't make me drag you!"
Sora pointed his finger blindly toward Vanitas. "Don't make me…come over there!" he threatened.
Vanitas's angry began to stir. "What did you say?!"
Roxas groaned as he put his hands to his head. "Will both of you just shut up…?!"
Riku groaned. "Why did I agree to come here…?"
Sora lifted his head, lightheaded and with an angry frown. "You-you heard me…! We-we can take you on now... you know… We're not those little kids…you…you used to pick on…"
"Don't try to act tough now you little shi…" Vanitas tried to get up, but struggled part way through and gave up. He breathed out. "I'll- with you later…" Sora put his head back down.
Nearby the bathrooms, Ventus pulled out his phone and dialed a number…
Thanks for reading! I wanted to make this one long chapter, but decided to split it into two because of how long it was going to be, so tuned in next time to see what happens next!
