The sounds of thunder and gunfire were heard against a black screen. A wide shot of Kuroyuri showed the empty, degraded town. A billowing cloud of dust and pieces of wood rise in the distance around the top of a tree that is barely visible above the town rooftops. Jaune, Ruby, Ren and Nora all fell back by the dead cherry tree. Ryu was thrown back shortly after, but landed on his feet, using his dual katanas to bring himself to a stop. Qrow was still unconscious and propped against it.
The Nuckelavee came into view, twitching its various body parts. It sent out a shockwave roar that causes everyone except Ryu to flinch, although he did grit his teeth from the pain. The Grimm looked at the teenagers and turned its head to look at Qrow and began running toward him.
Jaune sheathed his sword and made a run for Qrow. The Nuckelavee lashed out with one of its arms, able to extend it at a far reach. Jaune avoided it and got Qrow upright, but the Nuckelavee was heading right for them. Ryu drew his kusari-gama and wrapped it around the horse's neck, pulling back hard and managing to stop the beast, turning its attention back towards him. He rushed forward and did his flying swallow attack, stabbing the rider of the beast in the chest with the dragon sword. But suddenly, the blades in the back of the rider came out the front, slamming into Ryu and knocking him back towards his team.
He hit the ground, but rolled back onto his feet, preparing to attack with his kusari-gama again, but before he got anywhere, a whip-like appendage wrapped around his ankle and pulled him away from the team. "Ryu!" Nora cried out worriedly, trying to run after him, but the Nucklavee swung its arm out and knocked her back.
Ryu was dragged back through the city, yanked through an entire building and slammed into the wall of another one, before he was finally released in another large opening, slightly smaller than the square the others faced the Nucklavee in. Ryu looked to where the whip-like appendage returned to to catch a brief glimpse of something, only for it to disappear. Ryu drew his sword and looked around cautiously, slowly turning to look for the threat, before feeling something strike his back. He lurched forward from the hit, but quickly threw his windmill shuriken backwards, striking the monster in the face. This kept it visible long enough for Ryu to identify it.
"A Fog Walker." He declared. The creature was a chameleon-like Grimm roughly the size of a Deathstalker, with a tyrannosaurus-like head, equipped with fearsome horns similar to a triceratops, covered with spiky, bony plates down it back, smaller spikes all the way down its curling tail to wear it had what looked like a menacing red eye at the very end. And of course, its mouth was open to reveal a plethora of 5-inch long teeth, accompanied by a tongue with a deadly spiked spear tip on the very end. Even the greatest of Huntsman were advised to only fight this beast in a group. Not for its strength or speed, although it certainly had both of these as well, but for its cunning and ability to turn invisible, vanishing to cause their adversary to drop their guard, before striking. He rushed at the beast, but it disappeared.
"Reveal yourself, beast..." Ryu said dangerously, despite knowing the monster would never do so. Ryu took a deep breath and sighed, closing his eyes and focusing his other senses. He heard a noise behind him and turned just in time to deflect the monster's tongue, jumping forward and attempting his Flying Swallow attack to slice the beast's throat open, but the creature simply vanished once again before Ryu could reach it, his strike hitting nothing but air. He growled, but focused again and found the Grimm once more, deflecting the tongue yet again and flinging some shuriken's, hitting the monster's mouth and stunning it, allowing Ryu to rush in and start slicing and stabbing with his twin katanas, before the tail uncurled so the red eye at the end could look at Ryu and produced a bright red flash, blinding the ninja, before firing a red laser that sent him into a wall. The Grimm then stomped up and grabbed him, pulling him to its face and preparing to eat him, before he used his ninpo to create three swirling fireballs around him, forcing the creature to let him go and vanish.
"Good. I've done some damage, but the battle is nowhere near won yet. I can only hope the others are fairing better than I am." He said, looking around with his weapons at the ready.
Back with the others, things were not going well. Despite everyone giving it their all and laying down fire on the monster, it was still knocking them around and grabbed Ren's arms as he was shooting at him. Jaune put away Crocea Mors and drew the Blades of Chaos, slicing the monster's arms and causing it to release Ren. "Guys, keep moving! Go in a circle!" Jaune instructed, but didn't heed his own advice, swinging the blades and slicing at the monster staying in one spot. Luckily, the Nucklavee seemed more interested in the others, until Jaune wrapped the chains around the horse's hind legs, pulling back as hard as he could. This managed to pull the beast off-balance, but it then lifted onto its front hooves, pulling its legs forward and yanking Jaune in, then bringing the hooves back and slamming both of them into him, sending him flying back into a tree.
"Jaune! You've never used those in a fight before! You're not ready! Stick to Crocea Mors!" Ruby told him.
"No! I gotta do this! Kratos gave these swords to me! I need to prove that was the right choice!" He shouted.
Jaune quickly recovered and wrapped the swords around the rider part of the Grimm, pulling himself in and getting on the back of the horse, stabbing one of the blades into the beast and holding on tight, changing the bracer on his free hand into the Nemean Cestus and slamming it into the creature's face repeatedly. However, the creature eventually recovered and screamed at the top of its lungs, forcing Jaune to cover his ears to try and numb the pain, allowing the beast to smack him down to the ground. The horse raised onto its hind legs and prepared to crash down on him and crush him, but Ren rushed in and slammed into the horse's chest, firing on it, but was once again knocked away. Still, this gave Jaune just enough time to get away.
The four of them glared at the monster, but looked between each other in concern. "At this rate, we might not be able to beat it." Ruby said. "If Ryu were here, we wouldn't have a problem. But he's in trouble with his own fight. We're gonna have to do this without him." She said resolutely.
Back with Ryu, he continued to use his method of listening and deflecting the monster's tongue, but this was still yielding little success. Then, he recalled his past life, where in several instances, he used the Vigoorian Flail to defend against the ghost skeleton fish that had haunted him at certain points during his first two journeys. He was able to swing the weapon fast enough to stop countless creatures coming at him from every direction. "Then no doubt I'll be able to intercept one monster's tongue." Ryu thought, bringing out the bladed nunchaku and spinning them around himself as the monster fired its tongue. Not only did Ryu deflect the tongue, but he also hooked into it, bringing it to the ground where he stomped his foot onto the tongue to pin it, before slashing it several times with the flail.
The dozens of slashes from the weapon to its sensitive tongue overloaded the monster's mind and caused it to briefly pass out, allowing Ryu to rush in, switching to his lunar staff, spinning the powerful steel polearm around and smacking the creature's face several times, almost as fast as with the flail, but much stronger. He then aimed one of the pointed ends at the Grimm's head and repeatedly jabbed it in the face, neck and chest several times, before one final, powerful spin with the ends of the staff ignited smashed into the creature's face knocked it to its side, but also back to its senses, causing it to deliver a flash that force Ryu to avert his eyes just long enough for the creature to escape him.
Ryu recovered and looked around for the beast, hoping to finally finish it off quickly. He heard the creature's tongue once again and turned to deflect it, but saw nothing. "What?! It can't be. I heard it." He said in shock. Suddenly, he felt something with spikes smack against his back hard, tearing the back of his legendary black falcon outfit, turning to look for the creature, but not finding it once again. "It can't be... It's figured out how to strike while invisible." He realized. Suddenly, he felt another hit to his left side, further tearing his suit. Shortly after, another hit to his right leg again tore the suit and caused his aura to flicker. He couldn't take much more of this. "Very well. You aren't the only one capable of producing a bright flash." He said, raising the eye of the dragon jewel into the air, producing a blinding flash of light, causing the creature to scream and become visible, allowing Ryu to rush in, slashing and running past the beast at blinding speed, vanishing and striking again several times from different angles.
Jaune rushed in once again, slamming his Cestus into the side of the beast, then uppercutting it's chest, sending the horse onto its back legs. It tried to slam down on him like it had tried earlier, but Jaune managed to hold the feet back with the Cestus. The rider, however, was still able to attack and slammed both arms into Jaune's back, sending him skidding behind the beast, which then rose on its front legs and drove its legs back into Jaune once again after he had gotten back up.
Ren jumped off of a nearby building towards the monster and spun with StormFlower in his hands, becoming a spinning top of cutting fury slashing the horse's back and upper left side. On the last spin, he dug into the horse's back and climbed on, firing on the rider's back. But suddenly, the rider suddenly extended the blades sticking out of its back, knocking Ren off his back like he had done to Ryu when he first attacked the beast.
The creature then pinned Ren down with its left hand as he attempted to get back up, then prepared to smash him with its free right hand. However, before the hand could reach him, Nora's hammer slammed into it, damaging the monster's hand, but not enough that it couldn't grab and hold onto the hammer's head. Ren looked shocked at Nora, but she looked back down at him with a smirk. "I've got your back." She told him.
However, the Nuckelavee flung Nora around until she was knocked to the ground with her Aura depleted. Ren used StormFlower to give himself leverage to pull the Nucklavee hand off of him. He repeatedly went after the creature, exhibiting reckless behavior, his eyes wild. This, however, only served to get him knocked away by the beast, serious damage taken to his aura.
"Ren! Knock it off!" Jaune snapped at his teammate.
Ren ignored him and ends up on the ground beside Nora, separated from StormFlower and his Aura also depleted. The two partners rise together, Nora first. Ren's eyes were only on the creature.
"Ren, stop. You can't keep going like this. You'll die. I can't lose you. I just can't." She pleaded. However, Ren still proceeded to storm towards the beast.
Ryu was able to sense that his two dearest friends had depleted their aura. He had also sensed Ren's anger and was able to piece together that Ren was angry, which cause him to be sloppy, leading to the loss of his aura. If this kept up, his closest friend, almost like a brother to him, would die. A loss that would no doubt put the team in a position from which they wouldn't be able to recover. And Jaune was trying entirely to hard to use Kratos' weapons instead of the ones he was tried and true with, his inexperience costing him greatly in this fight. He would surely be the next to fall after Ren.
"I cannot allow this!" He declared, knocking the chameleon monster back with a powerful strike from the Lunar Staff, before dodging as it shot its tongue out at him. He then took that moment to stab the tongue into the ground with the Lunar Staff, immobilizing it. "That should buy me enough time." He said, jumping to a nearby rooftop and kneeling down, one fist on the ground as he concentrated on a power he seldom used, even back in his old life, creating a doppelganger of himself before team RNJR.
As Ren prepared to fight the Nucklavee again, an image of Ryu suddenly appeared before them. "Ryu." Ren and Nora said together.
"Ren. You're losing yourself in your anger. I know what this beast has done to you, what it means to you. It did the same to me, but I didn't let it become an obsession or let my anger consume me. All that anger is doing is slowing you down and clouding your thoughts. You can't continue like this. You have to remember yourself, Lie Ren, the calm one who can find a solution no matter what by assessing the situation and finding a weakness in his opponent." Ryu's doppelganger said, then looked to Jaune. "And Jaune, I know you want to make Kratos proud and prove he was right to leave his weapons to you, but this is your first real battle with them. And this is not a battle to test yourself with weapons you haven't completely familiarized yourself with. Don't forget, the very first thing Kratos trained you to use was YOUR sword. Use it and show us all the results." The doppelganger told him.
Everyone was shocked at the message, except the Nucklavee, which seemed confused at the sudden appearance of this new person, but finally recovered and swung its arm, destroying the clone. This snapped everyone else out of it as well, Ren and Jaune taking the message to heart, before putting determined looks on their faces.
Jaune put away the Blades of Chaos and switched back to Crocea Mors, running in and slashing the horse in the right back leg, then stabbing the same leg, blocking the kick that followed. He then decided to use the new upgrade to his weapon, sheathing the blade and transforming the shield to make the weapon a two-handed sword, slashing the monster's side and causing it to stagger.
Ren, for his part, rushed in as Nora and Ruby provided cover fire, shooting at the creature as well, sliding under its legs and slashing the horse's stomach. He then jumped on the back and fired on the rider, jumping back just before it spun with its arms out once again. Suddenly, Ruby got an idea. "I know how we can beat it!" She told them, then went about explaining the rest of the plan.
Nora headed to a rooftop. Ruby used herself as a target until she managed to pin an arm to the ground with the tip of Crescent Rose. Ren's knife was flung and embeded itself into the body of the Grimm. Jaune was positioned to be the next target as Ren used Jaune's shield to pin down the other arm.
"Now!" Ren declared, at which point. Jaune struck his sword through the Nuckelavee's arm into the ground. This left the Nucklavee vulnerable for the next stage of the plan. "Nora!" He called to her.
Nora stood with her back to the edge of the roof, slowly leaning back. (Ryu. Please be with me for this.) She said, before gaining a deadly smirk and free fell from the roof to land a killing blow to the head of the horse.
From where he now stood on the roof of one of the buildings, Ryu was able to see the fight and smiled. "I knew you could do it, my friends. It's up to you now, Ren. Avenge our village and our families." Ryu said, turning back to his own beast. He jumped down from the roof, pulling out Dabilahro, dropping down and severing the monster's tongue with the massive greatsword.
The creature screeched in pain, staggering back and glaring at the ninja, letting out a furious roar and scraping its foot on the ground like a bull preparing to charge. "Come on then, foul beast! I'll return you to the darkness that spawned you!" Ryu declared, rushing in, dodging a beam that the monster fired from its tail, jumping and flying forward with the flying swallow once again as the monster as it swung its claw forward to slash him.
Ren retrieved his knife and walked before the trapped Grimm. (For my mother.) Ren declared in his thoughts, before he cut off the Grimm's left arm. (For my father.) He thought again as he cut off the Grimm's right arm. (For all those that you've slain.) He went on as he struck a gash into the flailing torso. Ren closed his eyes. "For myself!" He declared out loud as he opened his eyes and swung with the knife, beheading the grimm. It died in a pillar of black smoke. Ren dropped the knife and breathed out a sigh of relief as Nora gave him a small hug, Ren putting an arm around her to return the hug, before they both realized something.
"Ryu!" They said together, rushing to where their friend was, Jaune and Ruby close behind.
Back with the Dragon Ninja, he slashed the chameleon monster's foot as it attempted to claw him, flying past the limb, then preforming a jumping back flip to escape the Grimm's tail, grabbing a wind Dust crystal and readying a Ninpo, the wind spiraling around him at deafening speeds, before he launched several blades of wind at the monster, cutting it to several pieces and finally ending it. "It's done..." He said, dropping to one knee in exhaustion.
"Ryu!" Nora cried, running up to him and hugging him. "I was so worried!" She said, tears streaming down her face.
Ryu smiled at this and wiped away her tears. "It's alright, Nora. I'm fine. And so are all of you. You were incredible out there." He praised his friends as Ren walked over to the side Nora wasn't on, helping Ryu up.
"We couldn't have done it without you, my friend." Ren told him as they started walking back to the others.
"You did everything yourselves. I just told you what you needed to hear." Ryu assured the boy with the pink streak in his hair.
With all of the group confirmed to be alive and standing strong, Ruby ran into the alley where Qrow was left during the fight. She breathed a sigh of relief that he was still alive. "It's quiet. Good job, kiddo." Qrow weakly praised her.
"Guys! I think I hear something!" Jaune cried out.
"It's an airship. They'll take us to Mistral. Our journey is complete." Ryu told them.
In the courtyard two wood and metal airships were coming in to land; Nora pointed in Qrow's direction. A man in a brown flight suit with an air tank on his back carried Qrow on a green stretcher with Ruby walking alongside them, her hand on Qrow's shoulder. The two rescue ships took off, everyone on board. "How did you find us out here?" Jaune asked.
"We were on patrol and saw the smoke. Nobody's been out here for years, thought something might be wrong." The pilot explained.
"What if we don't make it in time?" Ruby asked worriedly, crouched by Qrow and holding his hand.
Ryu put a hand on her shoulder. "It won't be much longer, Ruby. He's strong. He'll survive." Ryu assured her, before walking over to where Nora and Ren were.
"Ruby." Jaune called to her.
She looked up and saw the flourishing city before them. She then looked down at her uncle, trying not to cry from happiness. "We made it, Uncle Qrow." She told him.
Nora and Ren sat on the edge of the open rescue airship, their legs dangling. Ryu then approached them, putting a hand on Ren's shoulder supportively as he sat in between them, Nora putting her head on his chest as she looked out at the city, feeling happy. Ryu put his hand on her own, leaning his head against hers. Ren watched the two of them with a smile. Ryu looked to him and they shared a nod of respect and a fist bump before they, too, looked out to the city as the airships flew in to the city.
Ruby walked into a double bed accommodation. It had barren furnishings: two beds, a large desk and a nightstand. Qrow slept under the blankets of one of the beds. Ruby set the collapsed Crescent Rose on the empty bed and walked over to Qrow, putting her hand on his head.
She walked over and sits at the desk, picking up the pen and writing on the notepad. (Hey sis, I hope my letters have been reaching you and Dad. Hand-written stuff's never been super reliable, but I guess it's all we've got these days. Anyway, in case you haven't been getting them, I want to say I'm sorry for leaving the way I did. I know you told me it was a reckless idea, and after everything I've been through, I can definitely say you were right. It's been hard, on all of us, and I'm not just talking about the monsters we fought out here.) Ruby dictated the letter in her mind as she wrote it.
Back in Atlas, Dante grumbled and pulled out Lien as he and Weiss approached a short guy smoking a cigar, looking like a mafia man. "Dante! Good to see you again! And even better to be taking money from you again." Enzo laughed as he took the money Dante was holding out.
"Even death can't get me away from you, ya sleazeball." Dante huffed.
"Oh, come on! I'm doing you a solid taking you two to Mistral. I'm making an enemy out of Jacques fucking Schnee! And he ain't the kind of man you wanna cross. I'd say that's worth the extra payment." Enzo reminded him.
"And you're sure this... thing will get us there?" Weiss questioned, gesturing to the ancient looking Bullhead, a panel falling off, causing the former heiress to slouch as her jaw dropped.
"So, she's not the newest model out there! She's still a beauty in the air and the best you're gonna get!" Enzo told them.
"As long as it gets us out of Atlas, it'll have to do." Dante said.
"That's the spirit! Now, let's get going." Enzo told them, the twins nodding affirmatively, walking forward and onto the ship, which then took off as Ruby's narration resumed.
(Every step we made took us further and further from the things we knew. And every morning we woke up wondering, if just over the next hill would be something good or something terrible. It's scary not knowing what's going to happen next. And the things we do know now—just how bad it can get—it almost makes it all worse.) Ruby's inner monologue continued
Yang and Bayonettta were on the same ship Blake took to Menagerie. Yang was looking at a ticket and a photograph of Team STRQ, with Bumblebee nearby. Bayonetta was looking out at the sea, before pulling out her scroll and looking at a picture of herself, Yang and Ruby all together, then a picture of herself and Dante, giving a sad smile. Yang put a hand on her sister's shoulder, causing Bayonetta to turn to her, before the twins embraced each other.
"You'll see him again. All of your team. I know it." Yang said.
Bayonetta nodded. "I know. But Ruby comes first." She said resolutely.
(You told me once that bad things just happen. You were angry when you said it, and I didn't want to you were right, bad things do happen, all the time, every day. Which is why I'm out here, to do whatever I can, wherever I can, and hopefully do some good.) Ruby's voice continued to speak.
Taiyang stared at a framed photo of Team STRQ. Zwei barked at Tai and he smiled, looking across the room at a framed photo of Team RWBY. On the photo, "New Friends!" was written with a heart shape drawn near the writing. Beside it was a picture of team SCRN, where Dante had an arm around Kratos' shoulders as the former Spartan tried to push him away and Bayonetta was blowing a kiss to the camera as Ryu stood with his arms crossed, rolling his eyes, but with a smile on his face. A note sat beside it, reading "Suddenly, our family doesn't seem crazy!".
(We've all lost something, and I've seen what loss can do to people. But if we gave up every time we lost, then we'd never be able to move forward.) Ruby's narration came about yet again.
Jaune was in his room with a frustrated look on his face as he stared at the blades of Chaos in his hands, then up to Crocea Mors propped up against the wall.
Nora, Ryu and Ren opened the door. Jaune smiled as Ren set his father's dagger next to Crocea Mors. Ryu put a hand on Jaune's shoulder for a second, before sitting down, leaving enough room for Nora to sit between him and Jaune and leaned on him, but also gently held her leader's upper arm supportively, while Ren sat on the bed behind them and rested his hand on Nora's shoulder, while giving Ryu a look of approval.
"I'm sure Kratos would be proud of you, Jaune. You've become quite good with those chain blades." Ryu told him.
"Yeah. I doubt you'll ever be on Kratos' level, but you're REALLY close." Nora told him.
"And he'd be far more impressed with how much you've grown in his and Pyrrha's absence." Ren added.
"Thanks, guys. I know they'd be proud. I just want to see them both again." Jaune said, looking out the window.
(We'd never have a chance to see what beautiful things the future might have waiting for us. We'd never have the strength to change; whether it's ourselves, or the world around us. And we'd never be there for other people who might one day be lost without us. This is what we were training for, Yang, to become Huntresses, to be the ones to stand up and do something about all the bad in the world.) Our protagonist's voice continued to deliver the message.
Weiss, sitting on top of her suitcase in the airship's cargo hold, gazed out into the sunset and smiled as the airship flew over the Atlesian mountains. Dante walked up beside her and put a hand on her shoulder, which she reached up and grabbed. "Won't be long now, sis. Winter's just a few days away." He told her, to which she nodded.
The Captain and First Mate smiled and waved goodbye as Yang drove Bumblebee away from the port with Bayonetta on back, holding onto her sister's waist, headed toward Mistral.
(Because there are plenty of people out there who are still lost and even more who will try to gain everything they can from their sorrow. Believe me when I say, I know it can feel impossible, like every single day is a struggle against some unstoppable monster we can never hope to beat.) Ruby continued to tell her tale.
In the Land of Darkness, Cinder Fall snapped her fingers, having defeated at least the two Beowolves disintegrating on the ground in her continued training. Mercury Black is leaning on the wall with his arms crossed. Emerald Sustrai puts two fingers on her head, concentrating as she generates a hallucination of Ruby begging for mercy. Cinder focuses a large stream of fire on the hallucination from her right hand, glaring at it with her eye glowing. Nearby, Salem is watching, looking pleased.
(But we have to try, if not for us, then for the people we've already—) Ruby went on, but then stopped. "No... We haven't lost him yet." She said and crossed out the last few words as she altered her statement. (Then for the people we haven't lost yet.) She corrected.
As Ruby finished writing, the note was shown and two tears fell on the page. (I miss you so much. I miss Bayonetta, Weiss and Blake too. But I think you'd all be proud to know that I made it to Mistral. All of us did, and we even ran into Uncle Qrow along the way.) She informed.
Qrow pushed himself over with one arm and grunted while propping up his head with the other hand. Ruby stopped writing to check on him. "Hey, aren't I normally the one saving you?" He asked.
Ruby wiped tears from her right eye and smiled down at Qrow. The narration of Ruby's letter resumed as the corner where Qrow's weapon and Ozpin's cane were resting was shown.
(He's going to take us to see Professor Lionheart, the headmaster of Haven Academy. And he told us some things that you're gonna wanna hear, things I can't trust will make it to you in this letter. But maybe, if you and Bayonetta would join us, he could tell you both himself. With Beacon gone they'll need Dad at Signal more than ever, and I know you need to focus on yourself before I can expect you to come out with me. But it sure would be great to get Team RWBY back together again. Maybe even Team SCRN, too.) Ruby's voice continued.
The scene transitioned to Yang and Bayonetta riding down a path on Bumblebee, before coming to a stop at a crossroads and looking at a sign post. The signpost pointed right for Mistral and left for Kuroyuri, but the sign for Kuroyuri had "BANDITS" spray painted across it in big, red letters.
The two looked at each other for a moment, before Bayonetta let out a long, annoyed sigh. "Ruby had BETTER appreciate what we're doing to find her." She grumbled.
"She is in so much trouble when I find her." Yang agreed as they took off. After a few moments, Bayonetta tightened her grip around Yang's waist and pressed herself closer to her older twin. Yang smiled as she continued to ride her motorcycle.
(Please let Bayonetta know I love and miss her as well. Until next time, your loving sister, Ruby Rose. Oh! Uh, PS. I'll be sure to give you the address of where we're staying in Mistral! I'd love to hear back from you and Dad, and I can't wait to fill you in on whatever's going to happen next! Now that we've made it across Anima I really think things are gonna start going our way.) Ruby finally finished her message.
Ryu was on a phone at the inn team RNJRR and Qrow were staying at. "Yes, we're at an inn in Mistral, within walking distance of Haven academy." He explained to whoever he was talking to. "Excellent. I'm glad to hear that. I look forward to seeing the both of you soon. Tell him not to overexert himself." He said...
...At her home in Mistral, Pyrrha got off the phone with the dragon ninja. "I found them. They aren't far from us." She told someone.
The champion of Mistral then began gearing up: tightening her boots, properly adjusting her armor, putting her weapons on her back and sliding on her tiara. "Pyrrha, are you ready?" A familiar voice asked, prompting her to turn and face the person who spoke to her.
"Yes. I'm ready now. Let's go find our friends, brother." Pyrrha said, smiling at Kratos, who was awake and alive.
A/N: FINALLY! That's Volume 4 done! Now I'm only 3 Volumes behind, still! Thank you all for reading and to Israel Pena and merendinoemiliano for their advice on how to handle this chapter so Ryu didn't just obliterate the Nucklavee.
On the matter of the Fog Walker passing out, we have seen that the Grimm are capable of being rendered unconscious from the RWBY anthology manga, where a younger Yang knocks out a beowulf attempting to attack Ruby before they were too young to properly fight and kill the beasts. Also, Professor Port must have been able to knock out the Boarbetusk he captured and had Weiss fight back in Volume 1.
The Fog Walker was created by dragokaiju2000 on Deviantart. Go check that out, it's pretty epic-looking.
