Now here's the second part of the epilogue which should finally bring everything to a close. Someone else will make another appearance to confront Ash and Serena, and you'll know what Munchlax is going to do next. Enjoy and I do not own Pokémon.

In an unknown area

A yellow spiky bird was looking over the horizon. This was the legendary Pokémon Zapdos. Not long ago, Zapdos confronted Ash and Serena to tell them about three dark forces in Kanto, and that their meeting would be a premonition saying the first dark force will draw close. Just as expected, the dark force who happened to be Siegfried arrived.

Zapdos had a serious look on its face the last couple of days as it was sensing the events of what took place. Zapdos heard from its master, Lugia, that Ho-oh gave them a Rainbow Wing in hopes of encountering it in the future, and Scared Ash as their deaths were foreseen.

As expected, Ash and Serena would be killed during the battle, but not by the evil hunter, but a corrupted ranger. Their deaths allowed their Pokémon to finally realize that their fears led to disaster and helped them find the strength to confront Siegfried and defeat him.

Many Pokémon would lose their lives to this menace, but thanks to those Pokémon, Siegfried would never hurt another Pokémon again. Zapdos also sensed with their right judgement, their Pokémon would revive their trainers with the Scared Ash given to them by Ho-oh not only so they can continue their journey and prepare for the other dark forces, but also serve as proof that the corrupted ranger killed them so justice would be done.

These dark forces were going to test Ash, Serena, and their Pokémon for what was to come. At the end, despite the lives lost, that group would pass and would be one step closer to meeting its master.

"Ash Ketchum, Serena Gabena, you have taken the right actions against Siegfried and have proven yourselves worthy," Zapdos said as he was looking at the fragment of power, "I will see you soon."

Three days later

In the forest

Three days has passed since Siegfried was taken down. Now they were beginning to pick up the pieces as rangers started to clean up. Dead Pokémon were now being put into bags and would be either buried or cremated at Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town.

Claude and Sherri helped out as Claude rescued any Pokémon that were still alive, and Sherri gave them medical attention. This was a great opportunity as she could now put her doctor training skills to the test. Lance was watching over Claude as how he managed to reason with the Pokémon who were still scared. Claude picked them up and hugged them and assured them that everything was alright, and Siegfried was gone. Lance smiled at Claude's actions. What Pedansky said about him was true.

Despite just fighting, Pidgeot was aiding in the recovery process as well trying to spot Pokémon up in the trees, and Lance's Dragonite came over to help. Claude and Sherri were going to return Pidgeot to Fuchsia City with her kids as soon as this ended.

Pedansky was clearing out Shepard's office as he was now going to become the new head ranger. He offered Claude to come back to the work force with him, but he declined because Lance told him about another job that he could take. Pedansky wasn't sure what it was, but he hopes to hear about it soon.

Professor Sycamore, Sophie, Ash, Serena, and the rest of their Pokémon pitched in too. Ash and Serena spent time playing with the younger Pokémon to help them get their minds off of what happened. Sycamore and Sophie gave those Pokémon a bunch of delicious meals as their food supply could be cut off from the violence that took place.

As Ash and Serena played with the Pokémon, Munchlax began to open up to Ash. It actually all started the evening after Shepard got arrested.

Flashback-Three days ago

Grotto

Everybody returned to the grotto as they needed to see the scene of what took place. This was supposed to be a safe place for Pokémon, but thanks to Shepard, Siegfried came in and ran wild killing all of those Pokémon. Many dead Pokémon lied on the ground with blood and guts coming out of them. There wasn't even a ceiling anymore now that the tree has been destroyed.

"Damn that Siegfried," Pedansky uttered.

"No, damn that Shepard. It was his accusations for Munchlax that caused this," Claude said.

No one could bare to see this scene, not even Ash and Serena. They were just kids and they already had to be exposed to something so gruesome. They knew Team Rocket were evil, but what Siegfried did was beyond disturbing.

"Take a last look everyone, because after we're done in here, we're going to find you new homes," Pedansky announced to all the Pokémon.

It was true, this grotto was supposed to be home to warm memories of growing up, and now they will be overlapped with Siegfried's barbaric actions. Munchlax looked at the big Pokémon that was laying down lifeless.

That was his father, Snorlax.

Munchlax walked up to Snorlax as he was about to cry. Hearing his father die was one thing, but now seeing the dead body gave him the realization that he was gone. His father was his hero, the Pokémon he could look up to for advice in life, the one who would make things better for him after something goes wrong, and now he was taken away from him.

"Munchlax," Ash uttered.

Munchlax walked up and gave his father's body a hug. Then the next thing that happened, he began to cry. Munchlax cried loud as he could, but his face was muffled into his dead father's body. He was never going to hear from him again, he never would hug him again, his main source of happiness was gone.

"Poor Munchlax," Serena sniffled.

"That Snorlax was his father," Rotom Dex sadly said.

"What?" Ash questioned.

"It's true, this was the Snorlax that raised him. This grotto was his home. Both have been taken away by Siegfried." Rotom Dex explained.

Ash took a look at that Munchlax as he was almost ready to cry. The scene with Munchlax and his father reminded him of the scene with Cubone after his mother was murdered by Team Rocket. This was the second Pokémon he witnessed that lost a parental figure.

Elekid, Magby, Smoochum, and Rapidash all looked at Munchlax how he was feeling. Those Pokémon looked around for their parents, and when they found them, they all began to hug their dead bodies and cry just like Munchlax was. In reality, Ash and Serena witnessed four more Pokémon who lost parents along with Cubone and Munchlax.

"All of these Pokémon lost their families to this hunter," Rotom Dex solemnly said.

"This is not fair, all these Pokémon were just trying to be safe and survive, but it took one person to let this happen," Ash angrily said as he continued to watch the scene between Munchlax and his father.

While all of the Pokémon losing their parents was a horrible scene to watch, it was the scene of Munchlax and Snorlax that caught Ash's attention the most.

This Pokémon must've been a true father to that Munchlax unlike Ash and his father. But it did make him wonder, even though he got back on good terms with Serena before Shepard shot them, he still was sour terms with his father. If it weren't for the Scared Ash, then his father could be living with regrets that he never got to know how his son really felt about him, and never had the chance to try and patch things up.

Maybe after with all that happened, Ash would like to maybe try and look for his father so he can talk to him. That Munchlax really caught his interest, maybe he could have Rotom Dex with him so he could have a conversation with that Pokémon to know what it was like to have a father.

Surprisingly, Ash didn't know that Munchlax wanted to try and talk to Ash as well regarding that he was Red's son, and Ash didn't know that Munchlax was actually the grandson of his father's Snorlax. When the time was right, Ash would try to speak with Munchlax.

The Next Day

Munchlax finally could start mourning the loss of his father and Seel. He looks up in the sky and can indicate that they're in Pokémon heaven. At least they were in peace with the rest of the Pokémon. Still though, Munchlax couldn't believe that they were gone. It was like he had no one around.

Ash was standing there with Greninja and Rotom Dex watching Munchlax. This Pokémon must've taken it hard. As Ash was planning, he wanted to have a talk with Munchlax.

He did have a talk with Greninja where when he and Delphox met Munchlax's father, before he was killed, they heard something about that particular Snorlax was an offspring to a Snorlax Red has owned. As one of Ash's closest friends, Greninja wanted Ash to have him see some light in the situation revolving his dad.

"I'm going to speak with Munchlax," Ash said to Greninja and Rotom Dex, "Rotom Dex, do you think you can do a translation for me?"

"Not a problem," Rotom Dex answered.

Having Greninja around was a good idea since he was Ash's first Pokémon, and the one Pokémon of Ash's Munchlax knew. Ash walked over to Munchlax with Greninja and Rotom Dex behind him. Munchlax heard rustling footsteps and turned around. He was a little surprised to see that Ash was approaching him. Munchlax wanted to interact with Ash, but it looks like it's the other way around. Ash might want to interact with Munchlax.

"Munch," Munchlax replied.

"Do you want to talk?" Ash asked.

Munchlax just stared at Ash. Ash was willing to have a conversation with him after all.

"Munchlax," Munchlax answered with an awkward feeling tone.

Ash sat down next to Munchlax. Munchlax didn't know what to say. When he had his conversation with Greninja, he wanted to know what Munchlax knew about his dad. He could ask Munchlax's father himself since he actually met him, but he's gone, so his son probably was the best option.

"First off, that's a really cool hat you got there," Ash complemented as Rotom Dex began to translate.

"Thanks," Munchlax smiled looking at Seel's red cap on his head, "It belonged to a close friend of mine. He died trying to take down Siegfried."

Ash let out a sigh when he heard that. This Munchlax must've lived a great life before Siegfried came around.

"It must be pretty hard losing your friend and your dad," Ash said.

"It is my dad was my hero. He was even the one who introduced me to Seel," Munchlax told Ash.

"Seel?" Ash questioned.

"The Pokémon who was the close friend that I lost," Munchlax stated.

Ash let out a sigh. So, his father introduced him to a Pokémon that he would become best friends with.

"Anyway, my dad has always been wise to me as he even told me about the reality of this world that he and my mom endured," Munchlax explained.

"What was your mom like?" Ash asked.

Munchlax's face turned dark when Ash said that. It was okay for Ash though, he didn't know.

"I never got to meet my mom. Before I hatched, my dad ran off with my egg while my mom tried to hold off some bad humans. She died so my dad could escape," Munchlax told Ash.

Ash's held his hand to his heart. Now he has learned that his dead father wasn't just a parent, but his only parent.

"Your mom was murdered?" Ash questioned in hurt.

"By a group of bad humans called Team Rocket," Munchlax answered.

Ash clenched his teeth when he heard that name but calmed down, so he didn't scare Munchlax. So that vile group didn't just kill one mother Pokémon, they killed two mother Pokémon.

"I know of Team Rocket," Ash sighed.

"I'd figure, Greninja told me about your encounters," Munchlax replied.

So Munchlax already knew about Ash's encounters with Team Rocket. Ash wasn't going to talk about what Serena did in Lavender Town when she aided the trio. Ash felt like Serena suffered enough with that.

"Anyway, after my dad got away, he found this hidden grotto and we started to live there. He didn't like to be alone so he welcomed any Pokémon that came in and he would look after them too, like he would with me," Munchlax explained.

Ash wasn't sure if he wanted to smile or frown. His father was already looking to be a better role model than his own father Red.

"As we lived in the grotto, he would go out and provide food for the Pokémon. It's kind of ironic that a Snorlax was giving food to other Pokémon when they tend to eat anything in sight," Munchlax said with a chuckle, "Other Pokémon who lived there even helped contribute as the grotto started to become a small little underground village."

"That's amazing," Ash said.

Munchlax appreciated Ash's complement.

"It is, and even though I was young, my dad always told me things about life. He told me that despite those bad humans out there, there were good humans as well and he wanted to make sure I was prepared for what the world had to offer," Munchlax explained.

That seem to do it for Ash, this Snorlax was already a better father than Ash's current father. Not only did he help other Pokémon and was wise to him about life, but more importantly, he remained there for Munchlax unlike Red.

"You're right about that Munchlax, there are good humans out there. Like myself, and my girlfriend Serena," Ash stated.

"And…your dad too," Munchlax nervously said.

Ash looked down when he heard what Munchlax said. He should've known that his father was going to be brought up in the conversation. Well it was bound to happen anyway.

"Yeah, I heard that your father happened to be an offspring of a Snorlax owned by…my father," Ash sighed.

Munchlax started to frown from Ash's tone of voice. He thought that there would be excitement from him, but all there was in his voice was dread. Munchlax and his father did hear from Greninja when he was still Frogadier that Ash wasn't on great terms with his father.

"You don't like talking about your father to anyone?" Munchlax asked.

Ash let out a huge sigh. Even though this was a Pokémon, it was tough for Ash to handle this.

"I don't know if Greninja ever told you, but I…hate my dad," Ash grimaced.

Munchlax's eyes widened when Ash said that. He hated his father, he hated Red Ketchum.

"You hate your own father…you hate Red Ketchum?" Munchlax questioned.

"It's true," Ash confessed.

"But how, my dad told me that it was him that allowed my grandparents to get together and have an egg which would become my dad. My dad even told me tales that Red even helped his parents let him go and meet mom. I'm here today because of Red Ketchum, because from what I heard from my dad, he treats all Pokémon like living creatures," Munchlax said, "Are you saying that Red might not be the person we all thought he was, and that maybe those stories I were told were lies?"

Ash couldn't believe it. Munchlax was now thinking everything was a lie. Ash didn't want Munchlax to believe that. He could believe all of this was true. He just didn't know the story between him and his father. Though Munchlax was a Pokémon, he wanted to shed some light. He did that with Serena and his friends.

"I never said your stories were lies, I believe they're all true, and it's amazing that you could be a Pokémon genetically related to one of my dad's Pokémon," Ash reassured Munchlax as his tone became serious again, "But at least your dad was there for you. He didn't decide to walk about a couple of years ago and drop out of contact."

Ash then took a deep breath and continued talking.

"Because that's what my dad, Red Ketchum did almost five years ago. He left us and we haven't heard from him since. We don't know where he is or what he's doing," Ash told Munchlax.

This surprised Munchlax. His father, Red Ketchum, left him and his mother.

"Why did he leave you?" Munchlax asked.

"He didn't say. He said he had to do some business and he left," Ash answered.

Munchlax looked puzzled. He left his family for some business. Munchlax didn't want to go into that topic, he wanted to learn more about Red. Anything that was good about him, if he could get Ash to say anything.

"What was your dad like?" Munchlax asked.

"Easy, he was a complete traitor who left me and my mom," Ash answered until Munchlax interrupted him.

"No, I mean, what was he like before he left? Forget all of that stuff and just remember the stuff before that," Munchlax told Ash.

Despite being so young, Munchlax has been pretty wise to Ash. This must've been something that rubbed off his father. Ash took the time to go into thought and remember the times he had with his father. They were supposed to feel so warm to him, but instead it's all felt with hurt. Ash sighed and continued to speak.

"Well, until I turned six, my dad was a very fun guy. He was the Kanto Region Champion and had a good knack of helping others. He even taught me everything about Pokémon which got me to love them a lot, and even at times behind my moms back take a ride on one of his Pokémon," Ash told Munchlax.

Ash was now starting to smile a little bit. These were some great memories he had with his father. Maybe what happened five years ago got the best of him.

"I wanted to become just like my dad when I got older," Ash said as his expression became grim once more, "Just without the part of leaving the family without saying anything."

The two continued to look at each other. They both have something in common now besides the fact they were somehow connected to Red Ketchum, they both have lost a father figure.

"So, you haven't seen your father since then?" Munchlax asked.

"I haven't," Ash answered.

"Do you think…he's dead?" Munchlax asked.

That was something that just rang into Ash's head. He hasn't seen him or heard from him since he was six. Maybe his dad wasn't someone who didn't care about his family, maybe something happened to him and he possibly wasn't alive anymore.

"No, it never crossed my mind," Ash answered, "Plus if he was dead, then maybe we would heard something from someone."

"Ash, you're on a Pokémon journey, correct?" Munchlax asked.

"Yeah, I'm traveling the world to become a Pokémon Master," Ash answered.

"Well if you're traveling the world, maybe you might run into your dad," Munchlax said.

It was true what Munchlax said. If Ash was traveling around the world to become a Pokémon Master, then maybe he might see his old man one of these times and figure out what's going on.

"Do you really think so?" Ash asked.

"Yeah, if you never heard anything about your father being dead, then maybe you'll find him and you can talk to him," Munchlax stated, "I want to believe that all of those good things I've heard from my father about Red is true, and maybe he might be doing something important."

"Like what?" Ash questioned.

"I don't know, but it would have to be something important," Munchlax said.

Ash took that in thought. Maybe his father did care about him and he couldn't come home because it was something extremely important. That didn't give him the right to drop out of contact with his family though.

"Listen Ash, as of now you still have a father who could be out there," Munchlax told Ash.

"And a mother too," Ash replied.

"That's even better that you have both parents still," Munchlax said as tears started to fall from his eyes, "I don't have any parents anymore. You have a mom, and possibly a dad still. Unlike me, you still have a chance to see your father."

Munchlax was right. Ash still had a father while Munchlax's was killed. He was just killed by Shepard and then revived. Now that he had new life, maybe it was time to drop the hatred of his father by looking for him and getting answers.

After all, until Ash found a corpse of Red somewhere in the world, he was still alive. That was the same case for Greninja when he went missing as Frogadier, Ash didn't declare him dead until he found Frogadier's dead body. Ash always remembered the motto, never give up until the end. He wasn't going to give up in finding his father and knowing why he left. Munchlax wasn't ever going to have a chance to be with his dad again, but at least they would be on good terms. Maybe it was best for Ash to come across his father and get on good terms with him too.

Ash started to smile.

"You're right Munchlax. The truth is I want to stop hating him, and maybe thinking about those good memories we had will help me," Ash said, "Besides, I can't hold these grudges forever."

Greninja watched the conversation between Ash and Munchlax. He started to smile when he finally would try to come to terms with his father. Ash helped him become stronger, and Greninja and rest of the Pokémon would do the same for Ash.

End Flashback

That was one of the first times that Ash had truly opened up about his father. While the doubts were still there, at least he was willing to give him a chance. Maybe he could speak to his mother as well.

During those past two days after that conversation, Ash has spent more time playing with Munchlax as looking at him gave him the reminder of searching for his father. At the same time, Ash could tell that Munchlax still seemed to be mourning. He didn't have a father anymore, and his father was considered a hero to him.

Ash was starting to have some thoughts about possibly being a new father figure to Munchlax. After all, he needed someone to fill that void.

"Munchlax, what Shepard said about you is not true. You're a great Pokémon," Ash thought.

"Ash Ketchum! Serena Gabena!" a voice boomed out.

Ash and Serena gasped when they heard that. No one else heard it though. It seems that Ash and Serena were the only ones who heard that voice. The two looked at each other in bewilderment.

"Did you hear that?" Ash asked.

"Yeah," Serena answered as she looked around, "But where did it come from?"

"Come back to the place that was once a home to Pokémon. Come towards the destroyed tree," the voice said.

Ash and Serena were told to come to the destroyed tree. That's where Munchlax and all those Pokémon lived until Siegfried came in and started killing everyone. But who's voice was that, and why did it tell them to come to the tree.

"And come alone with just your Pokémon," the voice told them.

Wait, that voice sounded familiar. That sounded like…Zapdos!

Of course, Siegfried must've been one of three dark forces Zapdos told them about. Ash and Serena were told that meeting the legendary birds would be a premonition of a dark force approaching. Ash turned to Munchlax and the rest of the Pokémon.

"Munchlax, we'll be right back," Ash told Munchlax as he and Serena ran off.

As Ash and Serena ran off with Pikachu and Rotom Dex behind them, the other adults noticed that Ash and Serena were making a run for it. It was Professor Sycamore who called them out.

"Where are you going?" Sycamore asked.

"It's a secret, but we'll be right back. I promise," Serena said assuring they'll return.

Sycamore watched them run off. They don't know why, but Serena did assure them they will be back. Sycamore and Sophie watched as they smiled at the two.

"You didn't tell them yet, did you?" Sophie asked.

"Not yet," Sycamore answered as he had his hand in his pocket and smiled, "But I can say this though, those two kids earned it."

As Munchlax watched them run off, he was curious to know what they were doing and where they were going. If Ash Ketchum had the adventures he heard that he had, then he might want to check it out. Maybe it was something exciting.

"Where are you going?" Smoochum asked.

"I'm going to follow them," Munchlax answered as he ran off.

All of the Pokémon watched Munchlax run off in the same direction Ash and Serena went. They figured Munchlax wants a closer look at what Ash does.

Back at the destroyed grotto

Ash and Serena returned to what was the grotto. Last time they were here, they were mourning the murdered Pokémon and began picking up the pieces. Now someone was calling them over.

The Pokémon trainer and Pokémon coordinator were in utter shock when they saw who was standing there. It wasn't as much of a shock as last time, but it was still something that amazed Ash and Serena.

"You two have arrived," the voice said.

It was none other than the legendary Pokémon Zapdos.

The last time they met this Pokémon, it blasted a massive wave of electricity all over the power plant killing every single rocket in site and saving their lives. Now this Pokémon has returned to them.

"Zapdos," Ash and Serena said in union as they gave a bow.

Zapdos gave the two trainers, Pikachu, and Rotom Dex an approving look.

"When I first met you two, you told me about something involving your Pokémon and their state of mind," Zapdos told them.

"That's correct," Ash confirmed, "It seems that."

"Wait!" Zapdos interrupted.

Ash stopped talking as Zapdos said that. Was there something the legendary Pokémon wanted to say?

"Bring those Pokémon out and you may continue," Zapdos told Ash and Serena.

Since Zapdos was a legendary Pokémon, Ash and Serena can't help but feel this Pokémon has a high level of authority. Ash released Greninja and Serena released Delphox. The two Pokémon witnessed Zapdos in front of them, and knowing that it was a legendary Pokémon, they both gave a bow to them like it was some sort of king.

"It seems the last time we've met them, they were in different stages. They must've evolved between our last meeting and now," Zapdos said.

"They have. As I was saying, it turns out that they were feeling the way they were because Siegfried, the hunter who killed their families before they were born, was close by," Ash confirmed.

"It's true, they were so scared because he was actually here," Serena told Zapdos.

As Greninja and Delphox were looking at Zapdos, they couldn't help but feel pity for the way they were acting last time it was around. Greninja and Delphox wanted to speak on behalf of their trainers.

Little did they know, Munchlax was rounding some trees and saw what was going on. The Big Eater Pokémon was in shock when he saw the Pokémon that was standing on what used to be his home. A legendary Pokémon was on the grounds where his father raised him. What surprised him even more, the group was having a conversation with the Pokémon. Munchlax really wanted to take this in.

"Zapdos, what they say was true. That uneasy feeling, we had was due to the fact Siegfried was here. We were just so scared of him after what he's done that we couldn't do anything," Greninja confessed.

"And eventually, the fears got us separated from our trainers who would eventually be killed," Delphox confessed, "Siegfried has done nothing but emotionally scar our lives and when we thought he took Ash and Serena away from us, it was time to stop being scared. Our fears only allowed more pain to be spread, and more lives to be lost, including a girl who I considered to be like a big sister."

Serena heard what Delphox said, thanks to Rotom Dex's translator, and felt tears in her eyes. When they were separated, Serena can remember saying Braixen was like a little sister to her. Serena truly did change Delphox for the better.

"We did let our anger get the best of us, but eventually we remembered what we learned from our friends, and what we experienced. I didn't finally become brave just to beat Siegfried, but also to make Ash proud and make sure no Pokémon lives through what me and Delphox lived through," Greninja declared.

That had to have been the best thing coming out of their Pokémon's mouths so far. They finally put their fears aside for the sake of other Pokémon and to make them proud.

"We weren't sure if we wanted to revive Ash and Serena at first, but after some convincing from the other Pokémon, they were ready for the next chapter and figured we continue our lives with the people we call our family," Delphox told Zapdos.

"And it was the right call, because when they revived us, we told them who really killed us," Serena said, "He was brought to justice and he's now in prison."

Zapdos smiled at what everyone was talking about. It told them about understanding their Pokémon, and it turns out they would finally understand when the crisis took place. Zapdos didn't feel like it was a level up, but it was a spark of what would come for them.

"As I told you, If you can truly hone your skills as Pokémon trainers and feel like you and your Pokémon can become one, you'll start to understand why they were so terrified. During this time, you were finally able to understand and give them the strength to fight." Zapdos told them.

Greninja and Delphox reflected on Zapdos's words and they couldn't agree more. Before they woke up after being knocked out by Siegfried, they were seeing Ash and Serena in their thoughts. They were telling them to get up and fight, and that they were always going to be with them in their hearts.

When they woke up, they felt a new surge of strength. Something only a high-level Pokémon could feel. The two felt like they were one with their trainers and started to overpower the evil hunter and eventually kill him. For some reason, the two Pokémon felt like if Ash and Serena weren't dead, it could've gone a little further.

"Like I told you, one of the major concepts that played was courage, and your Pokémon finally found the courage to face their demons and prevail," Zapdos said, "They also found the courage to use the Sacred Ash to revive you two not only so they can have the group they call their family again, but also to bring justice to the person who did this to you."

They can recall what Zapdos meant. Courage was a main concept against facing Siegfried and knowing that it was okay to reward themselves for their hard work at times.

"So, the first dark force was Siegfried correct?" Serena asked.

"That is correct. It was Siegfried," Zapdos confirmed.

Zapdos spread its wings out and started to give out a yellow aura. Ash and Serena were amazed to see what came out of Zapdos. This was a fragment of power that it was going to give them

Munchlax's eyes widened when he saw what came out of Zapdos. He had no idea what that even was.

"You have defeated the first dark force, but just beating the dark force isn't enough to reward you," Zapdos confirmed.

"It's not?" Ash and Serena questioned in union.

"No, it was the actions you all take during the battle, and even after the battle," Zapdos explained, "But looking at how you managed to help the Pokémon in need, knowing about the emotional well-being of other Pokémon in the future, and have the Sacred Ash used by Ho-oh to revive you two proved that you are worthy."

The two trainers closed their eyes and let out a smile. It seems that peace has come for now.

"Zapdos, the Sacred Ash that was given to us, was that because…the Pokémon knew we were going to die here?" Ash questioned.

Zapdos

"Your death was foreseen, and it was given to you so it could be reserved so that you can aid us," Zapdos answered, "Which is the reason Lugia has given you the GS Ball. Just be warned, now that it has been used, you won't be so lucky next time."

So, they knew Ash and Serena were going to have a fate they wouldn't escape from. Now that the Sacred Ash was gone, Ash and Serena knew they had to be careful. This was their second and last chance. They had to be more careful and not walk into anything that speaks guaranteed death.

"Now the time has come," Zapdos stated, "Pull out the GS Ball please."

Serena reached into her backpack and pulled out the gold and silver Pokeball. She walked up to Zapdos stretching out her arm with the mysterious Pokeball in hand.

"I will send my fragment of power into the GS Ball. Please take it as the symbol that your Pokémon have found their courage," Zapdos told them with a praise.

Then the glowing yellow fairy like substance started beaming into the GS Ball. Serena and Ash shielded their eyes as the power was going into the GS Ball. No one had a clue what that fragment of power did, but maybe when they get the other ones, they might know more about it.

Serena looked at the GS Ball and there was a yellow glow coming inside, and then it died down. The GS Ball looked normal again.

"Thank you Zapdos," Serena praised.

"You are welcome. There are seven more fragments of power to be found, and two more here in the Kanto Region, both held by my brothers. Once you have obtained the other two from Articuno and Moltres, you will receive the Silver Wing and meet my master. Just remember, the meeting with them will serve as premonitions for an upcoming battle with a dark force, just like the case was with me," Zapdos explained.

Everybody gathered around and stared at the GS Ball. There was nothing different about the Pokeball, but maybe they'll get answers once all of the fragments of power are found, or the other two in Kanto. Just what was in there?

"I will meet you again soon once you gained the other two fragments," Zapdos told them as it began to flap its wings and fly up, "Until then, I bid you farewell."

Zapdos began to fly upwards into the sky, and Ash and Serena watched as the legendary bird begin its flight. Zapdos began to fly off north in the distance. It told them that this wasn't going to be the last time it would meet with Ash and Serena. Once they got those other two fragments, Zapdos would return.

"I wonder what's in here?" Serena questioned herself.

"I don't Serena, we'll get answers soon enough," Ash answered, "But as Zapdos said, we can't just beat these dark forces, we have to know the right actions that have to be taken."

"You're right," Serena said as she started to have a dark look on her face.

"Is something wrong Serena?" Ash asked.

"Ash, I know it's likely that we have to face off against these other dark forces, but what if one of them happens to be Team Rocket?" Serena asked.

It felt like the temperature dropped drastically. It wouldn't be a surprise if Team Rocket were one of the three dark forces. As Zapdos said, one dark force was coming, which was Siegfried, and he was taken care of. Zapdos also said one dark force was already around, so it could be Team Rocket. But they never will know until the time comes. Then the third one involves a dark force being born; they have no clue what that means.

"Serena, if Team Rocket does happen to be on that list like Siegfried and whatever else is out there, then I have a bad feeling that you already may have done some bad back at Lavender Town," Ash sighed.

It almost as seems Ash wanted to be angry again, but he felt Serena has gone through enough. After all, Serena was just trying to help those rockets because they were weak and afraid, not so she could strengthen the organization. All they can just do is move on.

"Well we don't know yet, and as Zapdos said, meeting Articuno and Moltres is considered a premonition to our encounters with them," Serena stated.

"And I have a feeling we'll be meeting them somewhere down the line," Rotom Dex said.

"Chances are we will," Ash confirmed as he looked at Pikachu, Greninja, and Delphox, "And when the time comes, we'll be ready for them, right guys."

"Pikachu!" Pikachu cheered giving a V-sign.

"Greninja," Greninja replied.

"Delphox," Delphox replied.

"Then it's settled, we'll fight these dark forces together!" Ash declared.

They were not going to hold back. They were a team, Ash, Serena, Rotom Dex, and all of the Pokémon were going to fulfill the legendary Pokémon's request and gather the fragments of power. If that Rainbow Wing and Sacred Ash were given to them for something with the GS Ball, then Ash and Serena knew there wasn't going to be any turning back. Ash, Serena, Greninja, Delphox, Pikachu, and all of the Pokémon were going to push themselves to get stronger for when those other two dark forces come. Siegfried might've been a powerful human, but who knows what the other two could be like?

What the Pokémon didn't know was that Munchlax heard everything. He even heard the conversation between them and Zapdos, and the giving of the fragment of power. So, it looks like they were chosen to fight off evil.

"Wow, I know I just met Ash, but meeting with a legendary Pokémon and fighting these different evils, he's already seems to be better than Red," Munchlax said to himself, "You're a lucky guy Ash, having these amazing adventures. I wish I could have those kinds of adventures."

Munchlax smiled at the scene. All of this positive enforcement of fighting those dark forces would encourage them to get stronger. Whatever they deal with out there could be more terrifying than Siegfried. Munchlax knew he wasn't strong enough to save his dad or do something to Siegfried, but he hopes to be strong enough one day like Greninja so that he can contribute greatly into bringing these bad guys down.

Only question that remains, how would Munchlax do that?

Back with the group

Claude was looking around. While the Pokémon were relaxing, Claude was figuring out one thing. What were they going to do with all of these Pokémon? Most of these Pokémon don't have homes anymore, or parents, so where would they go?

As he was looking at Elekid, Magby, Smoochum, he could see how they've been so close. Rapidash has now joined that group and has gotten close with them too.

"What's going through your mind Claude?" Sherri asked.

"It's about those Pokémon, where are we going to take them?" Claude questioned himself.

Then Pedansky and Lance were approaching the married couple. Claude looked on over to see that an Elite Four Member was coming his way.

"So, you must be Claude," Lance said.

"I am," Claude answered.

"Your friend has told me everything, you didn't deserve to be fired like that. You worked for someone who only cared about himself," Lance told Claude.

"It's true, if he did care about Pokémon, then he wouldn't be attempting to kill that Munchlax or giving away a location to where Pokémon are hiding for money," Claude sighed.

L

"The way that you braved a storm to go after a hunter even when you're not on duty, that shows how much you care for Pokémon," Lance told Claude.

"It's actually true," Claude said.

Pidgeot was flying towards Claude and landed on his side. She and Claude looked into each other's eyes and then looked back at Lance. This Pidgeot was a good example of how Claude helped out other Pokémon when he was a ranger.

"Lance, the Pidgeot you see here, I met her many years ago when she was just a Pidgey. This Pidgey was lost and separated from her parents. I wanted to get her home to her parents, but her parents weren't in my assigned area," Claude explained.

Lance was listening in that Claude knew this Pidgeot when she was just a Pidgey.

"I actually left my assigned area to help look for her parents, and then in some time, I found two Pidgeots flying around. I was wondering if those Pidgeots were her parents, and they were," Claude told Lance.

Then Claude's face turned grim when he was about to tell him the other part of the story.

"Pidgey was supposed to be happy to be reunited with them, but then Shepard came in and shot at the Pidgeot because he thought they were attacking me when in reality they were reuniting with their daughter," Claude explained, "Instead of getting a thanks, they all fled from me, and I get yelled at by Shepard."

Everyone grimaced at what Claude just said. He was doing a good deed, and his boss punishes him. He should've never been considered a head ranger to begin with.

"This Pidgeot was the same Pidgey, and I just met her again yesterday when she was trying to flee from Siegfried. Now she is a mother, and she now had the chance to thank me. I always wonder that if I've never went out of the way to reunite her with her parents, she would've never come this far in her life," Claude happily explained.

Lance gave Claude an approving look. He then looked at Pidgeot who was smiling right back at Lance and nodded her head to confirm what he said was true.

"It shows how much you care for Pokémon. Sometimes you have to break the rules in order to do the right thing," Lance explained, "It was something we learned from our last champion Red, and of course it rubbed off on our current champion Blue."

It gave Claude some relief to know that his actions actually did good for a Pokémon, and that sometimes going against the rules can do some good for the world. Everything Shepard said was complete nonsense along with the boundaries. Claude learned even the previous champion did stuff like that, and that an Elite Four member learned about it from him.

"That's amazing," Claude said.

"Like I told him Claude, we considered you one of best in our business," said Pedansky, "It even brought a positive effect to his wife."

"Your wife?" Lance happily questioned looking at Sherri.

"Yeah, I used to be a Pokémon groomer," Sherri commented, "Until a freak accident took place with a Furfrou."

Sherri was looking down. She remembers that accident that took place when she used to work in the salon. She didn't get in trouble with her employer, but she did feel powerless.

"Furfrou accidently moved and I accidently cut off part of her ear. She was bleeding and I was heartbroken. I couldn't do anything because I was a groomer and something like that was beyond my limits," Sherri explained as she continued, "After that incident, I didn't want to feel helpless for a Pokémon like that ever again. I've always admired my husband's tactics of helping and protecting Pokémon, so I decided for that Furfrou, I quit Pokémon grooming and now I'm training to become a Pokémon doctor."

Lance was impressed with that one small accident on a Pokémon changed her life of caring for Pokémon for the better. While Lance was proud to be a G-Men, he was also proud of how others commit to caring for Pokémon too.

"That's great to hear that your husband's actions influenced you to do more for Pokémon," Lance praised, "By the way, how was Furfrou?"

"She obviously would live as they were able to patch up her ear. I was just thinking about…next time," Sherri said.

"We'll I'm proud of you for that," Pedansky praised Sherri.

It was a great sight to see that there were people around who did care for Pokémon. Lance saw how Claude was helping the Pokémon out with food and shelter. He really did look out for their well-being, just like he does.

While it was true he couldn't do something judging by what someone or another person says, Lance was certain that Claude would be a perfect candidate to join him in his squad. He already lost his job, so maybe another one would do.

"Claude," Lance addressed.

"Yes," Claude responded.

"I was thinking of something, you have shown me that you are someone who goes beyond for Pokémon when you went after Siegfried. That had to be pretty brave," Lance told Claude.

"We all did, now just for the Pokémon around here, but maybe the world," Claude told Lance.

"So, I was wondering," Lance said looking at Pedansky and then back at Claude, "Do you want your friend to give you your job back, or do you and your wife like to come with me?"

"Huh," Claude uttered.

"What are you talking about?" Sherri asked.

"I'm considering offering you a position with the Pokémon G-Men," Lance said.

Claude was astonished, Lance of the Elite Four was offering him a job to work for him. This had to be a dream.

"If you join us, your work-load in helping and protecting Pokémon will actually go beyond this area you've been working in for many years. You'll go all over the world helping Pokémon in need and learn the different ways of reaching out to a Pokémon's heart," Lance explained.

Claude never thought this would be happening, he would go all over the world doing what he has done for years. Going beyond helping Pokémon in need.

"In addition, when your wife Sherri is certified to become a Pokémon doctor, she can travel with you aiding to many wounded Pokémon across the globe with you by her side. And for the time being, I get to be your boss and you will be treated right," Lance explained.

Claude began to smile. He actually would be training under Lance. He would be a hundred times better boss than Shepard. Pedansky and his wife looked at Claude with pleading positive looks. They clasped their hands with hope.

"Take it Lance. I'll take the helm here as head ranger. You now have a chance to go all over the world to aid with a Pokémon crisis," Pedansky suggested.

"It's a great bargain Claude, not only do we get to travel doing what we love, but maybe we'll run into our kids and know how they're doing once in a while," Sherri told Claude.

Claude could tell everyone wanted him to take this job. Sherri, Pedansky, even Pidgeot.

"This would be an honor, but despite my years of being a ranger, I never was a Pokémon trainer, and neither was my wife," Claude said.

"Then why don't you start now," Lance suggested, "It's never too late to gain new allies."

Really, Claude suddenly becoming a Pokémon trainer to work for the G-Men. If there was anything Claude can do to improve himself, then maybe being a Pokémon trainer would do.

Just one question, where would he get some Pokémon?

Claude took a look at Elekid, Magby, Smoochum, and Rapidash. All of them were going to be needing new homes. Then there was Munchlax. Maybe those Pokémon could come with them. Would that be a good idea?

Then Ash and Serena return along with Pikachu and Rotom Dex. Greninja and Delphox were right behind them too, but they didn't know a certain red cap wearing Pokémon was behind them.

"Ash, Serena, you're back," Sycamore replied.

"We told you we were going to be back," Serena responded.

"What was that all about?" Sophie asked.

Ash and Serena looked into each other's eyes. They don't want anyone to know that they met with Zapdos. Like the voice said, they weren't supposed to tell anyone about the GS Ball.

"It's a secret," Ash answered.

"A secret?" Sycamore questioned.

"It's something we can't talk about," Rotom Dex said as it used its arm to zip its mouth shut showing a zipper shut mouth.

Sycamore and Sophie looked at them and right back at each other. It was understandable that people keep things from other people for big reasons. So, Ash and Serena were doing that to prevent anyone from knowing something deep.

"Okay, I understand," Sycamore replied.

"Munchlax!" Munchlax cried out.

Ash and Serena turned around and saw Munchlax behind them. The Big Eater Pokémon appeared out of nowhere.

"Munchlax?" Ash questioned, "I thought you were with them."

Ash was pointing to the four Pokémon. When they ran off to meet Zapdos, Munchlax was hanging out with those four Pokémon. Why was Munchlax behind them right now?

"Munchlax," Munchlax said shaking his head.

Munchlax began talking about what he was doing. Then Rotom Dex translated for Munchlax.

"Munchlax said he was following you and watching what you were doing," Rotom Dex said, "But he is going to respect you guys and not say anything about it, but he already knows."

Ash looked over at Munchlax and smiled. So, he knew what they met Zapdos, but he wasn't going to say anything. Ash was wondering what it was about him that intrigued that Munchlax? Was it that he was Red's son, that he established a connection with Greninja while they were separated, or the fact he experienced Team Rocket first-hand? Whatever it was, Munchlax seems to like him.

"You know already about…Zapdos and everything?" Ash asked in a whisper.

"Munchlax," Munchlax answered with a big smile.

"That's very thoughtful of you Munchlax," Ash said smiling at Munchlax and patting him on the head.

Munchlax giggled when Ash rubbed his head like that. It reminded him of what his dad used to do. Then Munchlax started to frown and look down again.

"What's wrong Munchlax?" Ash asked.

"Munchlax," Munchlax uttered.

"I guess you miss your dad huh," Ash said.

"Munchlax," Munchlax uttered nodding his head.

"I know it's going to be hard to grow up without a parent," Ash sighed, "I just hope you get a home soon where you can be happy."

"Munchlax," Munchlax replied.

Elekid, Magby, Smoochum, and Rapidash all join up with Munchlax and give him a hug. This was going to be a tough time for them losing all of their parents.

As Claude watches, he can tell how all of these Pokémon got along. They really were there for each other, especially through this difficult time. It was great for these Pokémon who had friends that care for each other.

Claude then took a closer look at the Pokémon. If he was going to be a Pokémon G-Man and trainer, then he had to know about a how a Pokémon feels and reaching out to them. Claude smiled and thought that maybe bringing these Pokémon would be a fresh start.

"I think I may have found them all a new home," Claude said.

Everyone looked around in confusion. What could Claude mean by he found them a new home. This place is now going to bring nothing but bad memories.

"Really Claude, where are you going to bring them?" Lance asked.

"To me," Claude answered.

Lance's eyes widened when he heard that. Claude was actually going to adopt all of those Pokémon to come with him.

"I'll take all of these Pokémon and start raising them myself. I don't want to separate a group of friends when they dealt with something like this, so maybe coming with me will help them get through this. More importantly, they will have each other," Claude explained.

"I think that's a wonder idea Claude, you're already thinking like a G-Men," Lance said giving an approving look.

All five Pokémon looked at Claude. They heard what he said, and it looks like the next chapter of their lives was about to begin. Munchlax on the other hand had more of a…neutral or unsure look.

"You hear that everyone, you're all coming with me," Claude declared with a smile, "We'll travel the world and be there for any Pokémon in need. Not only will you get to go on adventures and get stronger, you'll make new friends along the way."

Elekid, Magby, Smoochum, and Rapidash all looked at each other with warm smiles. It made it seem like this tragedy has passed. It still burdens them, but now they have a chance for a new beginning. It was time to move on.

"Wait Claude!" Sherri exclaimed.

Claude got surprised and looked at Sherri. What was it that she want?

"What's going on Sherri?" Pedansky asked.

"Yeah, what are you thinking about?" Serena asked.

Sherri wanted to make something clear. Lance just said that they would travel around the world helping Pokémon together. Knowing that Claude was going to have Pokémon to protect him, Sherri realizes she still doesn't have Pokémon to protect her.

"I was considering since we're together and all of those Pokémon are going to stay with each other and come with us, maybe I can take maybe two of them where I can be their trainer," Sherri suggested.

Pedansky liked what he was hearing. If Claude was going to have Pokémon, why not Sherri. Claude would likely take three Pokémon since he may see more action, so Sherri could get two of them.

"That's a wonderful idea, they'll still be together, and we can raise them together," Claude suggested.

"And maybe Pidgeot could come with," Sherri brightly said.

Claude looks at Pidgeot, and though she smiled, she shook her head meaning no. While it was a great idea and her kids could come with, Pidgeot felt better if she and the rest of the Pidgey went solo.

"I think Pidgeot would like to stay here," Claude said, "But look for a new home for her family. Isn't that right Pidgeot?"

"Pidgeotto," Pidgeot confirmed.

"It would've been great to have a Pidgeot with you, but I'm impressed that you've adopted five new Pokémon," Sycamore said.

"We know you two will do great," Sophie happily said.

"Thank you everyone," Claude replied.

While these Pokémon were ready for a new adventure, one Pokémon had other thoughts. Munchlax.

Munchlax turned over to Ash. Greninja was looking curious on what Munchlax was going to do. Munchlax was staring at Ash and learned they both had something in common. Both of them don't have a father figure.

The Big Eater Pokémon walked up to Ash and had tears coming from his eyes when he was looking at him. It turned out to be a small world for Ash when he learned this Munchlax was the grandson of his father's Snorlax, and that he wouldn't be around if it weren't for his dad.

But the one thing that stood out the most was something they could relate to was the fact they have no dad. Munchlax's father was dead and Ash's father left his family and dropped out of contact. Munchlax did assure to him that his dad could still be out there and that he needed to come to terms with him.

Ash might not have the true understanding of where is old man is, but he would like to maybe take a page from Daisy and start taking the role of a father like how she has started to take the role of a mother with Cubone after Marowak was killed. Not only would it help Munchlax move on from his father's death, but it would also benefit Ash in growing up and maturing. Not to mention he has girlfriend with him so Munchlax would have a mommy too.

"Ash," Serena trailed.

"I think I know what he wants," Ash said smiling.

Everyone was looking at Ash and Munchlax. Claude and Sherri were about to adopt him along with the rest of the Pokémon, but now they've noticed that Munchlax seems more comfortable with Ash.

"What do you think Munchlax is doing?" Smoochum questioned.

"I think I know what he wants," Elekid responded with a bewildered look, "And that Ash guy is about to give it to him."

Magby and Rapidash would catch on with Elekid's expression. Pedansky, Lance, Sycamore, and Sophie all stood there and watched. This was going to be the next chapter for Munchlax.

"Munchlax, would you like to come with us?" Ash asked as he stretched out his hand.

Munchlax's eyes watered when Ash asked that. He was going to take him along with him for his journey.

"Munchlax, you don't have a father anymore. I'm not your father, but I can fill the role for you. I'll raise you the same way as your father. It would make him proud to see that you have a new family that will take you on great adventures," Ash kindly said as he looked at Greninja, "And knowing how Greninja helped you through that dark time with Siegfried, he could be considered a big brother to you."

It almost felt like a ray of light was shining on Munchlax. The sun was shining on him as if his father and Seel were watching over him. Maybe even his mother that he never got to see was watching over him too.

"Not only that, you even would have a mother in Serena," Ash said looking over at Serena.

Serena felt her heart melt when Ash said that Serena would act as a mother to Munchlax.

"He's right, we're all going to take great care of you and have so much fun. You'll even have many new friends such as our Pokémon," Serena told Munchlax.

"That's right, you won't be alone. When the time comes, I'll help you get stronger so you can be ready for whatever the world throws at you," Ash said to Munchlax.

Munchlax was giving out a big smile and lots of happy tears. This was going to be the start of a new adventure. Now he knew what the Rainbow Wing was telling him, that he had greater things coming in life. Those greater things were going to be with Ash Ketchum.

"Munchlax!" Munchlax cried as he hugged Ash.

Ash could feel dampness in his clothes as the tears of Munchlax were soaking all over him. He patted Munchlax on the head to know that he was going to be with him all the way, with many Pokémon around to help him get stronger.

"I take it that's a yes," Rotom Dex choked up.

"It is a yes," Ash confirmed nodding his head.

This was the beginning of a new life for Munchlax. Ash Ketchum has adopted Munchlax and he and Serena were going to look after him together.

"Congratulations Ash," Sycamore praised.

"Thanks Professor," Ash replied.

"I think you'll make a great father figure to that Munchlax, like your father was to you," Lance said.

Ash turned to Lance when he said that he would make a great father figure like his father. He wasn't going to say anything about him right now, in fact he knew the right thing to say.

"No, I'm going to be better than my dad," Ash stated.

"How will you know," Lance said with a smirk.

"Don't ask, because I will," Ash responded serious tone.

Lance wasn't sure of Ash's tone. What did he mean by he was going to be a better dad than his father? His father was the champion of Kanto of one point and was a great inspiration to Pokémon trainers and Pokémon alike. He even proved to be a great husband and a better father. How could Ash have doubts for him?

Elekid, Magby, Smoochum, and Rapidash all gathered around Munchlax. They should know that they will have to say goodbye after everything they've been through.

"I'm sorry about this you guys," Munchlax sadly sighed.

"It's okay Munchlax, if this is what you want we won't stop you," Rapidash said.

"Besides, we all get to go on new adventures so don't consider it a bad thing, consider it as a great opportunity for yourself," Magby said.

"You'll do great Munchlax, I'm sure this Ash kid will raise you to be big and strong just like your dad, maybe even stronger," Smoochum said.

Elekid has his arms crossed with a smirk on his face. He seemed to be like the leader of that pack, but he was still young too. He didn't know Munchlax for long, but he knew that Munchlax had a lot of potential inside of him.

"We had a great run together Munchlax. You've grown in the last couple of days, and I think your dad would be happy with this," Elekid said.

It touched Munchlax's heart to hear that. They were just kids and they've all began to grow up. Unfortunately, they may have all grown up too fast. But now was the time for them to become strong.

"Thanks, you guys, thanks for supporting me with this," Munchlax said as they shared another hug.

This clearly would be the last hug they would share for quite a while since they were all going their separate ways, so they all hugged each other as hard as they could.

"Well since Munchlax has made up his mind, I guess you each should take two Pokémon," Pedansky suggested to Claude and Sherri.

Claude and Sherri looked at each other. Both of them would take two Pokémon. That sounded like a good idea. They looked at the Pokémon trying to figure out who to take. Since Claude would be taking part in combat, maybe he needs Pokémon that can fight. Elekid and Magby look like the best options for him. Sherri would be left with Smoochum and Rapidash, and besides with the way Rapidash was helping with the fight, Sherri would need a Pokémon that was capable of fighting.

"Why don't I take Elekid and Magby and you take Smoochum and Rapidash," Claude told Sherri.

"I think that sounds like a wonderful idea," Sherri replied.

As soon as all four Pokémon finished with their embracement, they all approached Claude and Sherri to begin their new lives.

"Hold on, they don't have Pokeballs," Pedansky stated.

"Not for long," Lance commented as he pulled out four empty Pokeballs.

Lance approached the married couple and gave them each two empty Pokeballs.

"Use them to catch your respective Pokémon," Lance said.

Claude and Sherri got a look at the four Pokémon they were going to bring with them, no, their new family members.

"Elekid, Magby, you two will come with me. Since you two look capable of fighting, you might have a better chance of reaching out to troubled Pokémon," Claude told them.

"And Smoochum and Rapidash, you two will join me. Smoochum, you could be act as my assistant when I help the sick Pokémon, and Rapidash, you can be the one to protect us since I too need someone to protect me if Claude isn't around," Sherri explained.

"But one thing will never change, we will be together," Claude stated.

Elekid and Magby both gave a smirk. They would actually get to fight against Pokémon. They could see themselves as an Electabuzz and a Magmar, or maybe an Electrivire and Magmortar if they're lucky.

Smoochum feels as if helping out those Pokémon as Sherri's assistant seems like a good idea. She would evolve into a Jynx eventually and seem more capable of human activity. Rapidash could act as an ambulance as she could carry the sick and wounded Pokémon onto her back.

These Pokémon would make their parents proud.

"Are you ready," Claude and Sherri asked everyone.

"Elekid," Elekid responded meaning yes.

"Magby," Magby responded meaning yes.

"Smoochum," Smoochum responded meaning yes.

"Neigh," Rapidash responded meaning yes.

With that, Claude and Sherri tapped their respective Pokeballs onto their Pokeball. They were all sucked inside and without hesitation, all four Pokeballs immediately dinged to signify the capture.

"I know you'll take great care of them," Pedansky said.

"Thank you," Claude replied.

All of the Pokémon Munchlax knew from his time in the grotto were now gone. At least his friends were able to gain new home, and Munchlax himself too got a new life. At least he wasn't going to be alone. He would have Ash, Serena, Pikachu, Greninja, Delphox, and all of the Pokémon that were with them. There were even some Pokémon Munchlax hasn't even met yet that were back at the lab such as Bulbasaur, Haunter, Muk, Beedrill, and Gyarados.

"Hey Ash, aren't you going to catch Munchlax in a Pokeball?" Sycamore asked.

Ash looked at Munchlax. If he wanted to act like a father figure to Munchlax, then maybe right now he should watch him and spend time with him as any father would.

"Not yet Professor, I want to travel out of the Pokeball for a while until he feels he's grown up," Ash answered.

"I think that's a great idea Ash," Serena said.

"Did you hear that Pikachu, you have a friend now who gets to travel with you," Rotom Dex cheered.

Pikachu was rubbing the back of his head. True it's going to be great to have another Pokémon with him, because sometimes he would get lonely. Though he wished it could be Eevee, Munchlax was a good start.

"It looks like everyone is beginning to move on," Lance said with a smile.

Near the destroyed grotto

That evening, Kadabra was standing alone with a look of dread on his face, but also a peaceful look. All of the Pokémon living here were gone. Snorlax was gone. But now he could feel that the younger Pokémon were going to be alright. Still, this crisis took an emotional toll on him.

"Snorlax, your son is going to be fine. As for me, I can't bear to live with this trauma anymore," Kadabra said as he used his psychic powers to break a tree branch and point it at him and then responded in a whisper, "Farewell."

Kadabra lunged the tree branch into his chest stabbing him in the heart. The emotional toll regarding Siegfried and losing all of those Pokémon drove Kadabra to suicide. Kadabra closed his eyes and collapsed to the ground. He let out a few more moans before enough blood ran out of his body leaving him motionless.

Kadabra was now dead.

Ranger's station

As the evening was approaching, Lance was with Claude, Sherri, and Pidgeot. They were going to be heading back to Fuchsia City where they would get their things and that Sherri would tell the Pokémon Center she would be leaving, and to return Pidgeot to her kids.

"So, you're all heading to Fuchsia City?" Pedansky asked.

"That's right, we need to get ready for what's to come," Sherri answered.

"Also, those Pidgey must be worried sick about their mother. We have to return Pidgeot to her family so they can start their lives all over," Claude explained.

"It's been a trip Claude, but I'm glad things are looking better for us. I'll be taking charge here, and I really want to clean up Shepard's mess," Pedansky stated.

"I know you'll do great Pedansky," said Claude.

Lance then looked at Ash and Serena. He then remembered they were heading for Fuchsia City as well.

"Aren't you two heading for Fuchsia City as well?" Lance asked.

"We're actually going to stay here for one more day, and then Pedansky is going to give us a ride there," Ash answered.

"Yeah, it's getting dark and we talked to Pedansky that he'll take us there in the morning," Sycamore stated.

"It's true, once the barricade is cleared, I'll be giving them a ride," Pedansky stated with his arms crossed, "It's the least I can do after how their Pokémon helped out."

"That's very nice of you," Lance praised.

With that, Claude and Sherri hopped on Pidgeot while Lance got on his Dragonite. Before the two Pokémon could take off, Rotom Dex appeared out of nowhere in front of them.

"Stop!" Rotom Dex exclaimed.

"What is it?" Lance asked.

"I've never seen that Pokémon before, and as the Pokedex who serves Ash Ketchum and Serena Gabena on their quest, I must gain data on that Dragonite," Rotom Dex explained.

"Oh, go ahead," Lance replied as he let Rotom Dex scan Dragonite.

#149-Dragonite: Dragon Pokémon

It is said that this Pokémon lives somewhere in the sea and that it flies. However, these are only rumors.

"All done," Rotom Dex replied.

Lance nodded his head and Rotom Dex floated right back to Ash and Serena. Ash, Serena, Pikachu, Munchlax, Rotom Dex, Greninja, Delphox, Pedansky, Sycamore, and Sophie all stood and watched the two Pokémon take off.

"Goodbye, I wish you the best of luck on your futures!" Pedansky shouted as he waved goodbye.

"Take care yourself Pedansky, I know you and the other rangers will do well!" Claude called out as he waved goodbye.

Then the two Pokémon turned around and faced west. Both Pokémon began to fly out into the distance back to Fuchsia City. Once they were done there, they would join Lance in helping Pokémon around the world.

Ash looked up and knew that he would be meeting Lance again one day when he is qualified for the Pokémon League and winning it. That might not be the only meeting, he could even meet him in other places around the world.

It was going to be an interesting concept to what was to come. The places they will go to, the Pokémon they meet, the obstacles they will overcome, and whatever that GS Ball is for and how it plays a role. The world may be dangerous, but it was also exciting.

For right now, Ash Ketchum must resume his career of becoming a Pokémon Master and aim for the Pokémon League, while Serena Gabena can now get back on foot of becoming Top Coordinator and aim for the Grand Festival.

Now it was time for their next chapter of their journey. Fuchsia City would be the site of Ash's fifth badge and Serena's third ribbon. The adventure continues.

In an unknown location in the world

Cloaked in a dark figure, a man was standing alone and watching the clock. Time was one of the things he dearly values. This man was considered to be a mystery and it was unknown what he was doing. He had nothing to live for as his career was destroyed and now he was waiting for something.

But what was it?

As the man looked at the clock, he turned back to the table and saw inside a glass container was a white looking fairy. He had it in his possession for quite a while. The man narrowed his eyes at the fairy and noticed it felt a reaction.

"What was that?" the figure questioned.

It felt like a twitch. Maybe this thing felt something happen somewhere in the world.

"Could it be a reaction to the fact that someone found one of those fragments of power?" the figure questioned.

A fragment of power!

This figure had one. It was rumored that there eight mysterious fragments of power and this figure claimed to have one of his own. Little did he know, the legendary birds of Kanto each had three.

"Don't you worry, I'm going to find those fragments of power and you'll be whole again," the figure said, "Then I can reclaim what I've lost."

And that's a wrap! The Siegfried Arc has drawn to a close!

Ash and Serena have obtained the first fragment of power from Zapdos, seven to go. Two to go in the Kanto Arc. So, who was that figure and where was he? Answers will come in the Johto Arc.

Munchlax has joined Ash and he will actually travel without a Pokeball as Ash will take the role of a surrogate father and care for him. Sometime after Ash gets all eight of his badges, I will give Munchlax an official capture. Munchlax will eventually evolve into his canon Snorlax.

Now I can finally begin the Fuchsia City Arc which will feature Ash's next gym battle, Serena's next contest, and a trip to the Safari Zone. There is also a big surprise coming in the next chapter which is why I won't reveal the title.
