After arriving in California and going to Barbara's house, the boy from the museum was somewhat nervous to think about how Alejandra could react after being kidnapped and over where she was, it would not be easy for Brian to explain from the beginning.
Barbara: "You worry too much, you just have to tell her the truth" –she said.
Brian: "Yes, of course, as if you said it so easily, I don't know how to tell her that. I can't simply tell you that she was kidnapped by a damn bastard and that she is now in another country" –he said almost in an annoying tone.
Barbara: "I know it's not easy for you, but I'm sure she will understand. After all, she trusts you" –she said as she left the room where they were.
Brian remained silent and had a serious expression as he watched Alejandra who was still unconscious, something Brian noticed since he entered the base. He took her bandages from her eyes and mouth, and he tried to wake her up, but inside he wanted her to do it at her will.
Brian: "I hope what she said is true" –he said to himself as he watched Alejandra.
At that moment, Alejandra moved slowly, indicating that she was rising from unconsciousness, and slightly opened her eyes to witness a silhouette that was in front of her.
Alejandra: "What is ...?" –she said while trying to see perfectly.
At that moment, clearing the view, Alejandra was surprised to see that the silhouette was about no one less than Brian.
Alejandra: "Brian?!" –She shouted in surprise.
Brian remained silent while looking at her, he had no words to describe what had happened to her, nor did he intend to speak, although the latter was due to the fact that he simply had nothing to say.
Alejandra: "Where am I?" –She asked while she observed around her –"Are we in your house?" –She asked him.
Brian: "No ..." –he could finally speak –We are at a friend's house" –he said to her.
Alejandra touched her head as she remembered what had happened to her, but her head ached because she felt a bruise on the back of her head.
Alejandra: "Ouch, I feel like someone has hit me very hard in the head" –she said a little sore.
That comment only caused Brian to feel a strong anger towards Dr. Psiquio, but he remained silent so that Alejandra didn't notice that.
Alejandra: "Brian, exactly where am I?"
Brian: "Well, in California" –he said to her.
Alejandra opened her eyes after hearing that, obviously she couldn't believe what she was hearing and she opened a living room window to confirm that she was indeed in California.
Alejandra: "I can't believe it, how do I get here? Does my Mom know about this? One moment, Mom! She must be worried about this, I should …" –she said as she reached into her pants pocket.
However, she realized that before what had happened to her, she did not carry her cell phone at all, so her communication with her mother would be somewhat difficult.
Brian: "Alejandra, I ..." –He stopped talking for a few seconds.
Alejandra: "What's up, Brian?" –She asked as she approached him.
Brian tried to accommodate his words to tell the baker's daughter about the situation, but as always, he didn't have the courage to tell her. At that moment, Brian heard a few steps and he turned to observe Barbara who had her arms crossed and staring at Brian and Alejandra noticed her presence.
Barbara: "I knew you wouldn't tell her, that's fine" –she said as she approached they.
Alejandra noticed the woman who was looking at her with a somewhat mild and soft expression.
Alejandra: "Excuse me, ma'am, is this your house?" –she asked her.
Barbara: "Yes, that's right, my name is Barbara Bane" – she introduced herself.
Alejandra: "Nice to meet you, my name is Alejandra" –she said respectfully.
Barbara: "Very well, Alejandra, I think I'm going to explain what happens since a certain boy doesn't have the courage to say it" –she said as she watched Brian.
Brian muttered silently while he left the room and left the women there.
Brian: "I think it would be better for Barbara to explain to Alejandra about what is going on" –he told himself.
After moving to the anteroom, the boy from the museum witnessed some photos and in one of them Barbara was found wearing a wedding dress along with the person who was surely her husband and the father of the son she had. However, something came up in his head, and that was the lack of his presence, he thought of 2 options, divorce or just a tragedy that happened with the man.
"Excuse me" –said a voice that was close to Brian.
The boy from the museum turned to see Barbara's son, Ben Bane, was about 5 years old and was holding a bear dressed as an airplane pilot.
Brian: "Eh ... yes, is something wrong with you?" –he ask the child boy with a calm expression.
Ben: "Are you a friend of my mommy?"
Brian: "Let's say yes. You must be Ben, her son" –he said as he got to his knees to be at his height.
Ben: "Yes, you are seeing my mommy's photographs"
Brian: "Sure, specifically this photo" –he said while taking the wedding photo.
Ben looked at the picture and stared at Brian with lost eyes, which made Brian wonder about it, but he ignore it.
Brian: "Your mom looks very happy next to your dad, it seems she loves him very much"
Ben: "Of course"
Brian: "And he has a fun time with you as a father and son"
Ben: "I couldn't tell you" –he said, causing his voice to decline.
Brian: "Why?"
Ben: "Because ... because I never met him" –he said as he looked into his eyes.
That caused Brian to roll his eyes and already thought about the second option with respect to Ben's father. There was an awkward silence and Brian put the wedding photo in place and heard Barbara's voice calling him.
Barbara: "Brian, Alejandra wants to talk to you!" –She told him.
Brian sighed slightly and looked at Ben for the last time and he went to the living room only to see that Alejandra was the only one in that place and Barbara had gone the other way.
Brian (Mind): "Well, listen to what she will tell me"
