At first it was cute. Albus liked looking at the cute blond that came in every morning. For the past four days, this guy came into Albus' bakery, took a deep breath of all of the fresh pastries that were made that morning, and then left.
At first, Albus only noticed him because the shop was empty. And then Albus liked looking at his tall body and his blond hair. And this morning, for some reason, Albus is more annoyed. He's a little bit sick of the loitering.
"Hey, blondie," he calls across the shop. The guy looks at Albus, looking shocked. Albus nods, and the guy makes his way over to him.
"It's Scorpius, actually," the guy — Scorpius — says. Albus makes a humming noise in response.
"And I'm Albus," he says, pointing to his nametag. "I own the place."
"Wow," Scorpius says, actually sounding impressed. "It's really nice."
Albus appreciates the compliment, and he gives a little smile, but he still wants the service he feels he deserves."Thanks," he says anyway. "I can't help but see you come in all the time, and you never buy anything…" Albus trails off, hoping that Scorpius gets the hint. It seems like he does, because his face glows red.
"Yeah," he admits, shrugging a shoulder and obviously trying to play it cool. "I like the smells, but I'm allergic to gluten, so I can't really buy anything from here."
Now it's Albus' turn to blush. When he started his own bakery, he did have gluten free options, but no one really bought any of them, so he stopped supplying them. Now he just feels like a jerk for confronting this guy.
"Oh," he says, feeling awkward. "Well, I can make you something, if you'd like," he offers, telling himself that he'll start stocking gluten free options again, if only just for Scorpius.
Scorpius grins.
…
The next time Scorpius comes in, he buys something.
