Romeo Conbolt stared at the Fairy Tail building. He hasn't been in there for two years, because he was on a job. But ever since Wendy left, he hardly ever stays at Fairy Tail for very long, which is totally unrelated to Wendy, he keeps telling himself. All Romeo is going to do is go in and get another job, then leave again... right? At least, that's his plan.

Romeo was about to enter the guild, when he noticed another figure standing there, wearing a smirk on his face. Romeo raised an eyebrow, but the guy didn't seem to notice him. He was merely staring at Fairy Tail.

"Are you lost?" Romeo finally questioned, which startled the other man.

"Um, no..." he answered. "Sir, are you apart of this guild? I'm hoping to become a member," he told Romeo.

"Er, yeah, I'm apart of this guild," Romeo said. "You might want to talk to the master or Mirajane. I'm Romeo, by the way."

"I'm Alex."

"Would you like to go back to the guild?" Levy had asked Skylar, when the young girl had woken up and left her temporary bedroom. Skylar didn't see Gale at the moment, and she has yet to meet Levy's husband.

"Sure," Skylar said.

Levy smiled. "Great," she said. "Also, my husband should be back later today. Then, you can meet him. Okay, Skylar?"

"Okay," Skylar said, wondering how Levy's husband was like. Intelligent? Charming? Poetic?

"Let's go," Levy said, putting a bag on her shoulder. Skylar followed the older woman out of the house.

Romeo stared at the request board, deep in thought. Which job should he take this time? Fighting a water demon? Saving an entire town from total annihilation? Taking down a dark guild? Whichever one would take the longest is what Romeo should choose. Preferably something that's going to take years or months. He can't stand coming back for very long.

Not ever since...

No, don't think about her, Romeo scolded himself, his fist clenched.

Romeo turned his head in time to see the guild doors opening. Levy stepped in, followed by a girl that made Romeo's heart clenched. She had black hair that almost looked blue, and warm brown eyes. Her entire persona screamed 'timid and shy.' Something about her made Romeo think of a girl he hasn't seen in such a long time.

Who was this girl? And why was she with Levy, exactly? Questions filled Romeo's brain but they, of course, remained unanswered for the moment at hand.

Romeo stared at the young girl, wondering if maybe she's from the past? Which is why that girl looks almost exactly like a woman Romeo's age, when she was younger.

The girl looked in Romeo's direction and they made eye contact. They simply stared at each other. The girl was clearly uncomfortable with having Romeo looking at her for so long, and the more Romeo stared at her, the more his heart ached.

Levy didn't seem to notice Romeo making eye contact with the little girl. She turned to the younger one, and said something, causing the girl to look away from Romeo.

Romeo couldn't hear what they were saying, since he's not a dragon slayer, but after exchanging a few words, Levy walked away. The girl glanced at Romeo before sitting down at an unoccupied table.

"Hey, Romeo, you're back!" Natsu said from just behind him. Romeo turned around to see Natsu, grinning, now looking at the request board. "How long do you plan on staying this time?" he questioned.

"Not long," Romeo said, sighing. "Anything new, Natsu?"

Natsu looked at him and then his eyes went over to where the young girl sat. "Well," he started, looking back at Romeo. "We have a new member. Her name is Skylar. She's only ten. She arrived yesterday, actually."

"Skylar," Romeo repeated. "I-I see..." He wasn't sure what else to say. Who exactly is Skylar, anyway?

"Yeah," Natsu said. "Romeo, pal, I think you should stay a little longer this time round. You might regret it or you might won't, depending on..." He trailed off.

"Depending on what?" Romeo questioned.

"Nothing." Natsu said. "But you should stay, Romeo. For a little while. All your really friends miss you."

"I don't know, Natsu," Romeo said. "I'll give it a week, okay? Then, I'm out."

"That's all I ask, buddy."

Skylar sat, her hand resting her head. That guy was kind of giving Skylar the creeps. The way he was looking —- no, staring —- at her with familiarity and pain and sadness. It was beyond weird.

"Oh, hey, you're that new girl!" came a new voice. Skylar looked up just in time to see a blond boy sitting across from her. She believes she saw him yesterday, with a red headed girl.

"Yeah... I'm Skylar," she said. "Um, and you are?"

"Luke," he said. "You already met my sister, Nashi. And my parents. They wanted me to come over here since you seem so lonely." He quickly covered his mouth. "I don't think I was supposed to say that."

"Who are your parents?" Skylar asked.

"Natsu and Lucy," Luke said as if it should be obvious.

"Oh," Skylar muttered. "I didn't know that."

"Of course you didn't," Luke said. "If you did, you wouldn't have asked, duh."

"There you are, Skylar!" Nashi said, sliding in next to her in her booth, while Storm and Reiki sat on Luke's side. "You're pretty cool. Wanna join our team?"

"Wait, that's why we came over here?" Reiki questioned, wrinkling his nose.

"Team?" Skylar asked.

"Yeah," Storm said, "It consists of Luke, Reiki, me and Flamebrain."

"What did you call me?" Nashi growled.

"You heard me, you—-"

Reiki sighed, annoyed. "Don't start fighting," he said, a dark aura suddenly surrounding him.

"Guys, I'm not even apart of your team," Luke said, rolling his eyes. "I won't ever get money if I'm with you guys cause you cause lots of damage. I'm with Rosalie—-"

"Your girlfriend?" Nashi started making kissy faces, causing Luke to glare at her.

"Shut up!" Luke growled, standing up and stalking away.

"So, BlackBerry, wanna be on the team or not?" Reiki said.

"Sure, Strawberry."
