Santana sang softly as she poured classes of champagne for her and Brittany, adding a splash of grapefruit juice to hers. She then began to fuss with the charcuterie board she put together. The two had both been traveling and working the past 2 weeks and finally had some quiet down time to themselves. She landed from Miami late that night, she went straight to bed, happy that the kids were all gone, even though she missed that like crazy, having been traveling the past week. She slept in late, enjoying the feeling of being back in her own bed and in Brittany's arms; even though Brittany woke up early to head to a meeting at Fierce Pierce she had their personal chef make a lavish breakfast for Santana to enjoy in bed when she woke up. Santana spent the day relaxing at home, doing light paperwork for Lopez Lovez, and for LP Entertainment, her new artist development and management company with Brittany, before the two went out for a romantic dinner in Malibu. Brittany was upstairs changing out of her dress and into sweats to be more comfortable.
Carter, now 20 years old, was in Arizona filming for the new TV show he was on. After officially deciding he didn't want to go to college Santana hired an acting coach for him and got him a agent since he expressed interest in acting. He started a Youtube channel and began vlogging once they were finally settled in the new house. He initially appeared in a Nike print ad with Santana, having to fill in when the male model that was supposed to model with her had the flu and couldn't make the shoot. Carter tagged along to the set with her, acting as her assistant to cover for Emily who had to take her daughter to a doctor's appointment, and Santana suggested that Carter fill in. From there he landed a series of other commercials, and finally two years later now was a costar on Michael, a sitcom about four best friends that moved from a small midwestern town to LA to chase Hollywood dreams. Santana was set to guest star, playing Carter's character's mother in a series of upcoming episodes.
Ashton, now 22 years old, lived in a separate wing of the house with Carter, where they had their own kitchen and living room areas, so it was like an apartment, complete with a door that they could close for privacy, pretty much separating them from the house, since it was down a long hallway. A last minute addition that Santana and Brittany put in place for them, planning to allow Mackenzie to transition to that area of the house once the boys moved out when they were ready. He was currently in New York with Noah looking at designs for the clothing line that he started with Noah and Carter, enjoying a long weekend from school.
Mackenzie, now 16 years old, was babysitting for Hannah that night, planning to stay the night anyways since Hannah wasn't sure what time she would be back home. After transferring to the performing arts high school, her grades began to improve, and Santana did take notice so started to relax more with taking her out of a traditional school. Mackenzie's overall attitude improved as well, she didn't need to be asked to do her chores, her back talk came to a halt for the most part, and she wasn't as moody as the average 16 year old.
"You outdid yourself, babe." Brittany smiled as walked into their indoor patio. The room had a glass ceiling, so they could see the night sky, one of the walls was floor to ceiling windows that led out to Santana's flower garden, where they had two chairs and a small table set up for them to relax in out there. The room had a burnt orange sectional, with two leather arm chairs to the side, a white marble table, with orange, burgundy, and mint green swirls in it to match the sofa. There was an old school record player to the side, with oversized floor vases that Santana kept filled with long white orchids. In front of the fireplace they various floor pillows that were chocolate brown, which is where Santana was sitting, with their spread, on top of soft pink blanket.
"Thanks." Santana nodded, staring at the spread, and moving a few things around, before looking up at her wife and smiling brightly. "I'm to change really quick, be right back." She added, jumping up and jogging out of the room. As she made her way through the house she spotted Dior, her Yorkie puppy sitting on the steps with her brother Charles. "Hey guys, what's up?" She asked, laughing when the puppies barked to get her to carry them up. "Nope, go play, I'm coming right back down." She shook her head. She headed up to their wing of the house, and changed into black leggings, and a oversized white sweater that hung off of her shoulder. She washed the makeup off of her face, quickly doing a facial routine, before tossing her curled hair into a messy bun. She grabbed a pair of red ankle socks and slipped them on before grabbing her cell phone and heading back downstairs.
"Cedes called." Brittany stated when Santana sat back down. "She wants to know if we want to go to breakfast in the morning with her and Quinn."
Santana shrugged, "make it brunch." She replied, smiling at the puppies as they walked in the room, she tossed them each a cracker, knowing they would run and go eat them elsewhere before falling asleep.
Brittany nodded and began text her back as Santana popped a few grapes in her mouth before spreading some brie on a cracker, topping it with a cranberry compote, and tossing the cracker in her mouth. "Lay down." She told the puppies softly when they came running back in the room. "I miss Cinderella." She then pouted.
Brittany laughed. "She'll be here tomorrow."
Santana nodded and glanced at her phone before sliding closer to Brittany and kissing down her neck. "I love you."
"I love you too, baby." Brittany replied, lifting her wife's chin and pressing their lips together softly. "So, how was your trip, we didn't get a chance to really talk about it today." She asked, spreading cheese on a cracker and topping it with caviar.
"Good, Lopez Lovez New York is fully up and running, so I'm happy that's all situated, and filming the last couple of movie scenes in Miami was amazing. I love Miami, and definitely wouldn't living there." Santana replied.
"Really? You would honestly move out of LA?"
"I mean, well...yeah." Santana nodded. "I would, I love the whole vibe there, the food, the culture..."
"The hurricanes." Brittany frowned. "We can't live there babe, I can't see having to board up the house every year because of a natural disaster."
Santana sighed. "True...well LA...you're stuck with us." She smiled while looking up at the sky. "You are officially retired now, like for real for real this time. Not just from choreographing, but from teaching too; how does it feel?"
"Weird!" Brittany laughed loudly, moving to sit behind Santana, the Latina relaxing back on her chest. "I'm 52 years old...I'm been dancing for over 50 years. Waking up and not dancing or having a plan to dance sometime that day is different, but I'm glad to have had the career that I've had."
"Any regrets?"
"None, I always promised you I would retire before my body forced me to, and this is me keeping that promise. But you do know, if you randomly decide to come out of retirement, I have to as well, you don't trust any other choreographers." She teased.
"Damn right." Santana nodded, taking a sip of her champagne. "I'm in a good place right now, I will always love singing, but I'm happy to be done with touring and shows. I love acting, it keeps me away for a little bit, but things aren't as crazy as when I tour."
"True." Brittany replied, taking a sip herself. "What are we up to this weekend?" She then asked, wrapping her arms around her wife, and slowly running her hands up and down her sides. "I know we are having the big family dinner on Sunday when Noah and Ashton get back in town, but anything else."
Santana shook her head. "Nope, so we can get to work on Pierce Wine Bar."
"Are you sure about the name, Sanny?" Brittany frowned.
"Positive babe. Your dad was a huge wine enthusiast, and this wine bar is in honor of him. I love the name for it. We can always name our sports bar Santana's." She shrugged.
"Okay, so we need to pick out glasses and cabinets this week, oh and chairs and tables, like do we want high tops, booths...that type of stuff." Brittany stated.
"Got it." Santana nodded. "I need to set up the some more vineyard tours as well, we need to zero in on our signature wines."
"Okay," Brittany replied softly. "We can do all of that this week, tonight I just want to relax with you, my love."
Santana blushed and turned in her arms, pressing their lips together, moaning softly when she felt Brittany's hand slip under her shirt.
11am
"You still look exhausted." Brittany told Santana, placing her hand on her wife's thigh and rubbing slowly.
Santana rolled her head around and exhaled deeply, closing her eyes briefly before looking over at Brittany. "I am, I feel like I'm crashing right now, but I miss Cedes and Q, we all haven't been together in months. I'm excited for brunch."
Brittany nodded. "Okay, well, we can definitely cuddle and nap after this."
"Totally." Santana replied quickly. "I just need one day to sleep all day, and I'll be good as new."
"Well you know the grandkids are coming over today." Brittany laughed, "so today can't be that day, our nap and cuddle session has to be quick."
Santana's eyes widened happily. "All 4?!"
"Nicholas, Peyton, Raven, and Hendrix are all coming to see their Lita, who hasn't seen them in over 2 weeks." Brittany teased.
Santana rolled her eyes. "I'm going to lose my best Lita in the world title."
"I'm sure you'll keep it." Brittany laughed.
"Sweet, we need to go shopping after this, I have to get them some gifts." She replied, pulling her phone out and typing a note to herself, making a list of a toy to get kid. Hendrix was born the previous year, and would be celebrating his birthday in a few weeks, with Madison and Noah having a massive party planned for him. He was a splitting image of Noah, even though he had Madison brown skin tone, Santana instantly falling in love with her big brown eyes and all the curly hair he was born with, taking after Noah.
"Okay," Brittany nodded as they pulled up the restaurant, Santana rolling her eyes at the number of paps already waiting outside the restaurant, knowing that they were tipped off most likely because Quinn and Mercedes were already inside.
Santana stepped out first, wearing a pair of distressed dark denim skinny jeans, with a black cashmere Chanel sweater hanging off of her shoulder, she had on a pair of red and black Jordan sneakers, with a custom Alex Monopoly black Birkin bag on her shoulder. She had her hair in loose curls pinned to the side, with a pair of oversized black Gucci aviator sunglasses on. She extended her hand to Brittany, helping her step out. The blonde in a pair of small jean shorts with a long sleeve white blouse, a grey and white striped sweater tied around her waist, and white converse on. She had her hair in a high bun, with red Dior sunglasses on, a grey Louis Vuitton band on her apple watch, a matching mini LV backpack doubling as her purse. She kissed Santana on the cheek as soon as she stepped out and waved to the cameras, Santana giving a big smile as they walked in the restaurant.
They were led through the restaurant to a table in the back where Mercedes and Quinn were waiting. "You two didn't have to get all dolled up for us." Mercedes stated, raising an eyebrow at the pair's attire as she stood to hug them, kissing them each on the cheek before allowing them to greet Quinn.
"Whatever." Santana laughed. "I can't be comfortable?" She asked, pulling out the chair for Brittany to sit down, before taking a seat herself.
"You once said 6 inch stilettos were comfortable to you." Quinn teased.
"They still are." She replied with a shrug, nodding a thank you to Brittany, who poured her a glass of water from the pitcher on the table.
"We haven't all been together in a while." Brittany smiled, "We missed you both."
Quinn blushed, "I missed you ladies too, but it feels like this year everyone is busier than normal."
Mercedes nodded, "yeah, missed you bitches."
Santana winked, while drinking her water. "Well, we are due to plan a group trip soon, so let's pick a place and book it. Our treat."
Quinn raised an eyebrow. "Why is it your treat?"
"You want to come or not?" Santana laughed.
"So what are you two working on now?" Mercedes asked after they all ordered.
"It's kind of a secret for now." Santana stated quickly. "You two will definitely know, but..."
"Well Quinn already kind of knows." Brittany frowned.
Quinn took a sip of her champagne and cleared her throat. "I know what?" She asked.
Santana groaned before laughing. "Fuck, we'll just tell you, we are opening a wine bar, which is the space you found for us a few weeks ago, and then we are opening a sportsbar, which is the space you are looking at for us right now."
"Named Pierce Wine Bar and Santana's respectfully." Brittany chimed in.
"Whoa." Quinn smiled happily. "I thought you were using that space for something completely different. A wine bar will be perfect in that area."
"I know." Santana nodded. "We've been researching for months, and when we found that shop vacant, we knew we wanted it right away."
"You two were adamant about getting it right away." Quinn nodded.
"Sweet, free wine." Mercedes teased. "That's awesome ladies, I can't wait to see it, I know it'll be right up your gaudy alley." She laughed. "Why those names, I'm surprised you dont want the wine bar named after San."
Santana shook her head. "Daddy Pierce was a huge wine snob, so it's our dedication to him, I want the sportsbar, with the wings and beer, and shit."
"Classy." Quinn rolled her eyes.
"We want to have karoake and stuff like that at the sportsbar." Brittany chimed in.
"Looking for investors?" Mercedes asked with a sly smile.
Santana laughed and pulled out manila folders for each of them, handing them across the table. "This is the business venture we have for the four of us."
"We originally wanted to do the sportsbar with you two but Sanny is stuck on Santana's being the name, which we didn't think you two would go for." Brittany added. "So we were thinking of opening a social club too, partnering with you two."
Mercedes and Quinn both locked eyes, before Merecedes smiled. "I wouldn't mind the name Santana's, but I'm all for us doing a business venture together, and a social club sounds pretty dope."
Quinn nodded, "so a bar with games and karoake?"
Brittany nodded, "we want to have a few bowling lanes, some old school arcade games, mini basketball courts, karoake rooms, etc."
"Whoa that sounds amazing, I'm in." Quinn replied.
"Sweet, read over the contracts and get back to us, we are looking to start moving forward on this next year, we want to get our first two places off the ground, but definitely start looking at places Q."
"Yes, any and all ideas you both have, write them down too, and we can set up some brainstorming meetings." Brittany added.
"Over drinks." Santana and Mercedes both said at the same time, before laughing loudly.
8pm
Santana was laying on the couch in the family room watching TV, eating a bowl of popcorn, when Mackenzie walked in. Now at 16 years old, she was Brittany's height, and looked even more identical to her mother. She was dressed in purple Nike joggers, a white and purple matching Nike high collar hoodie on, her hair flowing down her back.
"Hey mommy."
Santana glanced up and smiled, "hey honey, what's up?"
"Dinner was good tonight."
Santana paused her movie and nodded, "yeah Chef Roble did a great job."
"Do you miss cooking more?" Mackenzie asked, grabbing a handful of popcorn and laying down to face her mother. Since moving into the new house Santana and Brittany hired a personal chef, feeling the need to enjoy their riches a little more as they got older. She also hired a cleaning service that cleaned the entire house aside from their bedrooms, and their offices; wanting to maintain their privacy.
"Sometimes." Santana nodded. "With your mom and I being gone so much and doing so much traveling now with work we just want to make sure you guys are all getting good meals and not just eating pizza and take out every night." She teased. "We still try to cook at least 1 night a week. Don't you like the chef, he's a way better cook than your mom and I?" She asked with a slight frown.
Mackenzie shrugged. "Yeah, he's good, but I miss walking in the kitchen and seeing you singing and cooking, or you and momma both goofing off while cooking and getting dinner ready, then I would join in, or Carter and Grey would. Now it's like we are always at a restaurant, a five start restaurant, but a restaurant."
Santana stared at her daughter before nodding. "I get it, I miss being in the kitchen with your mom too. Remember when you all were young, Noah was still living with us, and we couldn't decide what we wanted to for dinner, so I got all four of you in my truck, we went to the grocery store and bought all kinds of stuff." Mackenzie began to laugh at the memory while nodding. "We made so much stuff that night, I made a lasagne, a ham, ribs, a turkey, two different kinds of macaroni, pasta...shit, so much crap."
Mackenzie continued to laugh, "then momma came home with pizzas because she thought you were still on set since you didn't answer the phone."
Santana smiled while nodding. "Yep, we ate the pizza then drove down to skid row and passed out ham ad turkey sandwhiches, with sides to everyone, and took some food to a shelter in the area."
"That was one of the best days." Mackenzie beamed.
Santana thought for a moment. "How about every Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we cook as a family, well whoever is home, no matter if it's just the two of us."
"Thanks!" Mackenzie jumped up and kissed her on the cheek before happily skipping out of the room.
Santana sighed and grabbed her phone, canceling Roble's services for the next month, with pay for the inconvenience, and began to plan out days she could cook everyone's favorites meals, she sent Emily an email letting her know a list of a few things she needed her to pick up early the next morning.
MIDNIGHT
Brittany yawned as she continued to hang up the dry cleaning in her closet, rolling her eyes at Santana's clothes and dresses that were scattered throughout. When they designed their bedroom they made sure they each had their own separate closet. She gathered her wife's clothes, and carried them across the room to her closet, shaking her head at the pile of clothes from her suitcase that was crumpled in the corner. "It's amazing how she's anal yet messy at the same time." She sighed, hanging the clothes she brought over to the side in the corner and turning out the light as Santana walked in the bedroom, yawning loudly while stretching.
"Hey baby, I thought you would be asleep." She frowned, walking up to Brittany and kissing her on the cheek before walking to the bathroom and running a bath for herself.
"No, just doing a few things around the room, I wanted to hang up my dry cleaning right away." Brittany told her, watching Santana undress and walk her clothes to the closet, adding them to the pile. She then walked back naked to the bath tub and began to wash her face.
"Oh..." Santana shrugged. "I fell asleep downstairs, i'm so tired today. Want to join me for a bath?"
"I showered already, but thanks." Brittany replied with a polite smile. "Relax and enjoy yourself."
Santana chewed on her bottom lip, wanting to say something but changed her mind and walked up to Brittany, and hugged her. "Okay, you look tired." She told her wife. Brittany immediately hugged her back, running her hands up and down her back, landing on her butt and smacking it lightly.
"I am, I'll probably fall right to sleep as soon as I lay down, but I want to wait for you." Brittany told her.
"Don't wait up for me, babe." Santana frowned, before turning and running to turn off the faucet.
"It's fine, I'll do a little reading." Brittany replied, when Santana came back to the bedroom. She pulled her close and kissed her deeply before pecking her lips. "Enjoy your bath."
An hour later Santana walked out of the bathroom, dressed in a small black silk nightie. She smiled at Brittany, who was fast asleep on the couch, a book on her chest. "Brittany, come to bed honey." She stated, kissing her awake.
Brittany's blue eyes opened slowly and nodded. "I didn't even know I was asleep."
"It's okay, are you feeling okay?" She asked Brittany gently, rubbing her arm soothingly before placing her hand on top of hers.
"Yeah, just tired today." Brittany nodded, "I'm okay. Let's get to bed."
Santana pursed her lips and looked Brittany up and down before nodding, and placing a soft kiss to her forehead. "Okay."
7am
"This is where Lita sleeps." Peyton, now at 5 years old, said loudly as she pushed the bedroom door softly open and peeked in.
"Lita." Raven nodded, holding her breadstick tightly.
"BB sleeps here too." Nicholas, now at 7 years old, snapped.
"BB and Lita sleep here." Brittany said through a smile. "Come here babies."
The three grandkids ran closer to the bed, Nicholas and Peyton climbing in, while Brittany reached over and picked up Raven, blushing when the baby smiled at her.
"What are you three doing here?" She asked, since they weren't expecting to see their grandkids until later that evening when they were babysitting them over night for Madison and Noah.
"Lita." Raven blushed, poking Santana in the cheek. The Latina groaned slightly before clearing her throat and turning to face Brittany.
"Her sleep." Peyton shook her head before jumping on Santana and hugging her tightly, jolting her awake.
"What the fu...hey babies." She smiled when she opened her eyes.
Brittany raised an eyebrow at her before laughing, since Madison had a long talk with Santana , and requested she try not to swear when the kids where in the house, since Nicholas repeated some choice words he had from her and from their house with Noah.
"Hey Lita." Nicholas smiled, kissing her on the cheek and pressing the button to open the wall curtains where the TV was, turning it on right away.
"Good morning honey, I only count 3 babies, where's the fourth?" Santana asked.
"Hendrix is downstairs with Aunt Mackey." Peyton said sweetly. "He had to get his diaper changed, since he can't potty on by himself."
Right on cue, Mackenzie walked in with Hendrix dressed in a bright blue baby joggers with a white Nike tshirt on, smiling while staring at the young blonde. "Hey mom, mommy, want me to start breakfast?"
Brittany reached for Hendrix, who hugged her tightly, blushing when Santana leaned over and kissed his chubby cheeks. "We'll cook, let the puppies out, in the pen in the backyard, and then take Cinderella for a quick walk around the neighborhood. Your mom and I will walk the little ones after breakfast."
"Okay." Mackenzie replied, "come on Nick and Peyton. Come help me."
Peyton kissed Santana on the cheek and jumped out of bed, while Nicholas backflipped out, missing his landing and rolling into the door, Santana blinking slowly at him before rolling her eyes. "Don't break your damn neck, Nicholas." She lightly chided, "be careful." She added when he jumped up and ran out the room.
"Miss Raven, you miss Lita?" Santana asked, sitting up with Raven straddling her, the 2 year old, staring at her with a big smile, and nodding when Santana did.
Hendrix began to kick his legs and laugh loudly while staring at the Latina, leaving back on Brittany's chest. "Lee." He screeched.
Santana winked at him as Brittany stood up with him and walked around the room pressing the remotes to open the blinds. "Ready to cook?" She asked.
"I don't think we have a choice." Santana laughed, rolling over on Raven to tickle her, them both laughing loudly, before picking her up and tossing her softly on the bed. "Lita has to brush her teeth."
"I help Lita." Raven said quickly.
"Alright, let's brush Lita's teeth." Santana shrugged.
"San, babe, come here for a second." Brittany waved the Latina over to the table she was sitting at in the middle of the soon to be wine bar. "You like these stools for the high top tables?"
Santana stared at the picture, before picking up the book and holding it up to her face. "Black cushions, not red." She replied. "We want the look to be simple but chic."
Brittany nodded. "I agree, black and white deco, with pops of color."
"Oooooooooo." Santana said loudly, causing Brittany to laugh at her excitement. "How about we do all white tables..."
"White, black, and grey marble." Brittany clarified.
"Okay." Santana agreed quickly. "Those color tables, with the black chairs, red napkins with the logo on there. Cloth, of course. Then we get some funky colorful abstract artwork."
"Love it." Brittany nodded.
Emily who was sitting to the side nodded that she was taking notes, feeling Santana's eyes on her. "Best assistant ever." Santana laughed.
Brittany stood up and walked to one side of the space, "so right here is one of the bars." She locked eyes with Santana, who nodded that she agreed. "I want this one to just be where you can walk up and get wine, no seating."
Santana chewed on her bottom lip and nodded. "Okay, and the other bar, over here?" She pointed to a longer wall, with some seating on the sides?"
"Perfect." Brittany agreed happily.
"I want a red carpet too, so when guests arrive they know they are walking into some classy shit." Santana grinned.
"Do I get free wine?" Emily asked teasingly.
Santana looked over at her, "of course." She nodded firmly. "Just don't drink us out of business, but you and friends are welcome to come any day."
"Sweet." Emily smiled.
"VIP rooms will be in the back." Brittany noted, talking to more to herself than Santana, who was now taking pictures.
"Cedes is here." Santana smiled, walking to the backdoor, since the front door had dark paper up so no one could see in.
Brittany nodded, while taking more notes on her notebook, wanting everything to be perfect.
"This is so cute!" Mercedes beamed as she walked in and hugged Brittany, "hey Emily."
"Hey Mercedes." Emily smiled.
"Em, you can take off, honey." Santana told her.
"Let me give you a tour!" Brittany walked Mercedes throughout the empty space telling her their vision for each inch of the space, before showing her the kitchen in the back, and the VIP rooms they had in the back, which each had small bars int he corner, where customers could pick out the selections of wine they wanted for wine tasting, or just to drink. Those rooms they planned to reserve for their celebrity friends.
"This is really amazing ladies, super proud of you both." Mercedes smiled. "This is going to be nice."
"Thanks." Santana nodded. "When is your sister opening her restaurant?"
"3 weeks from now, you both are invited to the grand opening, there will be full security detail there." Mercedes told them.
"Sweet, we'll definitely be there." Santana nodded.
"I cant wait until we have this grand opening." Brittany said softly to herself with a big smile while looking around.
ONE SHOT - MIGHT BE A QUICK STORY WITH THEM OPENING THEIR WINE BAR
